Yelp
The Woodland Hills area is surprisingly home to a lot of good brunch places. For convenience's sake, we decided to give & Waffles a try since it was close to where we were staying. Let's see how it stacks up!
FOOD
A lot of people recommended the Carlito's Churro Waffle, so that's what I ordered! We also got a skillet to try out some more classic breakfast food.
I have nothing but good things to say about the Churro Waffle. It's amazing and it's absolutely worth coming here just for it. It's very crispy and tastes exactly like a churro. I wonder if they could make this a la mode (with ice cream) because if they did, that's exactly what I would get. For a bit more, you can upgrade this to a full, which I highly recommend. Seriously, don't sleep on this!
The classic skillet, on the other hand, was good, but nothing special. It's hard to mess up breakfast food and this has all the fixings. I wish it was a bigger portion though since I'm used to brunch places just loading up food. Only gripe is that the sunny-side eggs were cooked through, so there wasn't any yolk to mix in with the other good stuff.
SERVICE
Service was great and one of the highlights of the meal. Our waitress answered all questions we had and was very attentive to our large group. We asked for a separate order to go and she was able to split the bill accordingly too.
It gets busy on weekend mornings, especially past 10. If you don't want to wait, make sure you get here early.
COST
Standard brunch prices. Churro waffle was $14 for the half and i think it's an additional $5 if you want to upgrade to a full. Can't remember the skillet prices, but it was less than $20 before tax and tip.
SETTING
Both indoor and outdoor setting is available. Make sure you let the servers know which one you prefer.
Parking isn't the best. You'll likely have to street park. There might be a lot in the back, but we went for street parking.
Overall, if you stop by, get the churro waffle! It's a great sweet treat that'll help kickstart your day.
