This was a pretty good Italian spot, came because the food in the reviews looked authentic. The prices were pretty high for lunchtime, as there was only one menu available. The service was great! The ladies were very sweet and helpful. The menu was pretty limited, and the food was a little disappointing. The gnocchi was good, but the sauce just tasted like plain tomato sauce, not much flavor. The ravioli had some weird flavor to it, I think it was saffron? The bread was very unique! Overall, it was a pricey lunch for food that all 3 of us didn't really enjoy.

Dining at Andiamo was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the food and service were absolutely phenomenal. We started with the calamari, which was cooked to perfection, and the potato croquette that completely blew our minds. I ordered the Lucy Johnson, and it was outstanding. The cheese bread they serve was simply heavenly – every bite was a delight. For dessert, I had the panna cotta, and it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and so delicious that if I hadn’t been so full, I would have ordered another one! The service was top-notch – our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Andiamo truly is a hidden gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
When I arrived, I had high expectations because this restaurant is said to be an authentic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, I was kinda disappointed with the pasta I ordered. I'm not sure if this is the authentic Italian way of cooking pasta (but I've had pasta in Italy before...). The noodles were very soft and clumped together, making it difficult to discern the texture. The taste was okay, but both flavors I ordered had overly soft noodles. However, the bread was delicious, with a blend of cheese and green onion flavors that paired really well:)! The service was also very good too! (The interior design of this restaurant is like a family-owned small business in Europe! Elegant but in a small scale but misses some renovation)

Google
My favorite Italian restaurant in Austin. I think the bad reviews want Americanized Italian food and everything now now now. Go here for fresh, clean food and expect courses to come slower so you can enjoy dining and company. Love it.

Google
Absolutely wonderful delicious food is served here. This is one of the best Italian Restaurants I've eaten at in a very long time. Our party consisted of six people, we all ordered something different, of course we did share and everything was delicious. The service was good too, our waitress was super knowledgeable of the menue, answering all of our questions where we could understand and she also made great recommendations. If you're ever looking for a great place to dine with a loved one or for a special occasion, this Andiamo is a must. Side note, this restaurant also has a great story of how it all started, which just makes it another reason to visit.

Google
Excellent "whole in a wall" Italian dining experience. This place is in a strip mall but once you walk inside you feel like you're in Italy. The food is delicious and authentic - especially for the price point. We dined here to "carbo-load" ahead of a race in town and were not disappointed. I had the gnocchi special and my wife had the spinach linguine. We had the fritto misto as an appetizer as well as one of their springtime special salads. We had tiramisu for dessert. The food was tasty, fresh, and filling. The service was also fantastic as our server knew the menu front and back and checked on us to make sure all was well. We highly recommend Andiamo if you're looking for a great meal and dining experience.

Google
What a great time we had at Andiamo. It was my wife's birthday and she loves Italian. Being from the east coast we have not found many restaurants here in Austin that compare until last night. The wine, apps, entrees and desserts were top notch. My wife loved a hourglass that was a deco piece on a shelf and she asked to purchase it. They came back and said they would like her to have it for no cost. Amazing people and food was Authentic. Hidden gem in a strip mall. We will be back very soon. Thank you for the great night.

Google
Overall, the food did taste good and our waitress was very nice. We made a reservation, it was to celebrate my husbands birthday. While making the reservation, it asked if we are celebrating anything and I did say we are. Well when we got there I expected for it to at least be mentioned, but not even my name for the reservation was mentioned. Not a big deal at all tho, still had good service. It did take a while to be served, and they brought us out someone else’s appetizer. When someone finally looked over at our table I let them know it’s not our appetizer. It was at our table for a little while and instead of taking it back and bringing a fresh appetizer to the correct table, they just took it off our table and gave it to the correct table. It is pricey, and don’t get me wrong the food is delicious, but it is on the higher end. I expected for a different service with those prices. The wine was delicious, and so was the dessert. As mentioned before, our waitress was very nice, and the food was good. But I don’t think I would go back again.

Yelp
Food: on point, service/atmosphere: lacking, overall it felt overpriced for what we got. I don't regret coming but probably won't be back. The good: the food! We ordered: -the free bread! This was definitely up to expectations: warm, swirled with pesto and cheese; it was a struggle to not eat all the bread before the rest of the food arrived. -the fennel salad: I didn't know what to expect but it was fun and different and tasty- slices of fennel stalk with walnuts, goat cheese, and a light zingy dressing. Would eat again. -the stuffed eggplant: pretty tasty and I really enjoyed the red sauce; I'm not the biggest eggplant fan but this was sliced very thinly and was not overwhelming. -the spring quail special: so fun and extremely tasty, the quail was boneless except for the drumsticks so it was easy to eat, felt very fancy, and the fig stuffing was just delicious. I don't think I would pay $42 again for it though- no sides or anything just 4 quail halves. -the orzo with cannellini beans: I thought this was pretty bland, I couldn't taste the brown butter sauce at all, but my husband liked it and said it was nice and light. -the chicken stuffed ravioli- very rich, I loved the lemon cream sauce, but compared to my husbands pasta dish it felt like a small portion. I get there is more work going into ravioli than the orzo dish but I was a little jealous of his portion lol. The mediocre: the ambiance- I saw several other reviews saying that the interior was super cute and had a nice vibe- I thought it was ok but when you are spending $160 on a dinner for two it did not give me the fine dining feel. The plastic looking 'fancy' ceiling tiles, the simple decor, the management meeting between the head chef and someone that was literally at the table behind us? Not fine dining. And then our server was... interesting. He was polite but he answered questions unhelpfully ("how many quail in the dish? I think its 2 or 3", "you can order them to come out at the same time, or at different times, whatever you want" we are looking for advice I know I can order them whenever I want...) and wasn't the most attentive, kept turning to walk away after we ordered one item when we were about to continue to order a second item. He brought out the wrong food to our table (turned out it was for the people at the managers meeting behind us lol). Just not fantastic service- especially for the price!

Yelp
Food: The food looked good, but it wasn't the best i've tasted. They do give free tableside bread, so that is nice. The bread itself was not my favorite though. I didn't really like it. I do have to say that the pastas do feel homemade from scratch, so the texture is nice. As for the flavors, it did not impress me. I ordered the linguine Luci Johnson, fettucine di spinach, and a dessert Service: great service. my server was nice and attentive! ambiance: great ambiance! it was cozy and had great date night vibes

Yelp
I had advanced notice of coming here for a company dinner on a Wednesday evening which allowed me to look through many dozens of post-Covid reviews. Some key take away points from most reviewers was the lack of ambience, high prices, and the occasional hit and miss quality of the food and service. Most people raved about the bread they start you out with, but not everyone. We all thought the bread was fairly good, but it was never replenished. Yes the main dining room lacks a little ambience, but they did try to make some effort to fake it. In all the 14 years of the reviews, there was not a single business owner response to any review, which I thought was odd. Apparently they are not interested in any social media feedback. Our group of 20 souls were directed to the back of the restaurant and into a room that looks like it was a large closet used for storage with no windows and zero ambience. Definitely NOT a room you want to rent for a bridal shower/dinner or any special occasion for that matter. They prepared a menu for our group so we never got their full menu. We started with the breaded fried provolone with marinara which was good, but I was not a fan of their minced salad. The main course was a shrimp linguine dish served in a medium sized bowl. It was good and fairly savory and was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately the ricotta cheesecake for dessert had a burned crust and a burned outer crust that left a funky burnt taste in your mouth. At least the service was attentive. There was no wine served at our event and I did not see the bill so I can't comment on either of those. When leaving I spotted just 2 couples in the dining room at 7:30pm. Overall experience was an acceptable 3 stars, but not a place I'd return to.

Yelp
Great restaurant, the food was a bit spicy for Italian food. But besides that service and quality was great. If we come back we will order everything but not the seafood plates.

Yelp
This place is totally a hidden gem! Don't judge it by the strip mall it's in, because the food's actually really good. I had the ravioli de pollo. The portion wasn't huge, but it was enough to fill me up and it tasted amazing - just the right mix of sweet and savory. I also gave the mussels a try. Usually, I'm not a fan because they tend to taste fishy, but these were spot on. Seriously, they nailed it. I dropped by on a Tuesday evening, and it was pretty chill, not too crowded. The vibe inside is super relaxed, just some light music in the background. If you're rolling in with a bunch of people, they've got a room in the back that can handle bigger groups. I'd definitely come back here.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Andiamo after hearing it recommended several times online. I went in knowing about the quirks, being tucked inside an unassuming strip mall, but was ready for a pleasant dinner. Unfortunately I was let down and will probably not be returning to Andiamo. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted and seated promptly in the dining room. From the jump, the overall vibe was a bit confusing. Unfortunately the strip mall vibe was carried inside with drop-ceiling ceiling tiles, overly bright lighting, and chunky glassware. However, the menu prices would make you think you were at a snazzy restaurant downtown. We were one of only 3 other occupied tables. Highlights: - the complimentary bread was very tasty - the appetizer we had was also very good. I can't recall the name, and it's not on their online menu, but it was a fried cheese dish of sorts in a red sauce Lowlights: - Entrees were meh - ambiance leaves a lot to be desired - server was pushy and made a snide remark about not ordering a salad or a bottle of wine. We ordered wine by the glass because they give zero discount on bottles. (The bottle price is exactly 4x the per glass price. If you want to push bottles then take a couple bucks off to incentivize customers.) - service was incredibly slow Note: I don't hold this against the restaurant because the menu is available to view online ahead of time, but my partner is dairy-free and it was incredibly hard to find options here.

Yelp
TLDR: Go somewhere else. - undercooked bread - bug in my wine - burned oysters - overcooked carbonara I think we spent around $100-120 total for what was just kind of a sad experience. Would not recommend. ------------ Boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and unfortunately it was disappointment after disappointment. The ambiance was okay. It's pretty dark in there and has an older/family restaurant feel, but in a way that's less charming and more... tiring. We were the only patrons at 7:30 on a Wednesday, which gave me some pause. The starter bread was undercooked. :( Sad to see other reviews rave about it, but ours was raw dough-y. A gnat flew into my wine. When we pointed it out to the waiter it seemed like he wasn't sure what we wanted him to do about it. No apology, nothing. We asked to exchange it, and he took the glass into the back... and came back with a glass at approx the same level of wine as before. Call me paranoid, but my partner and I immediately joked about how there's a real chance they fished out the bug and brought the same wine back. Our server suggested the oysters, but they took foreverrrrr and when we got them they were burned. $23 for 6 burned oysters. (Pictured - the crust was literally black.) Took about an hour from getting there for our entrees to come out. Boyfriend's pasta was okay but not great, but mine, the carbonara ($24 I think), was overcooked to the point where the noodles were mushy.

Yelp
This is very nice restaurant in a strip mall. Very familiar ambiance and great service. Their servers are all extremely polite and helpful. They even have a sommelier and their selection of wines is very good. For starters we decided to share the potato Crostini and it was very good, but eat it right away, otherwise the potato will be no longer crispy. For mains, I went with the capesante which is a salmon wrapped scallop which arugula salad and raddish. It is very good. Just missed a bit of salt. My husband ordered the ravioli and he mentioned that it was very flavorful. For dessert we had the pana cota. It was sweet but not overly sweet. Just wish they had more of the sauce which was incredible and had a bit acidity to compliment the dish. The service was great, the food was very good, just wish the portion was a little bit bigger, but I guess that's what it is a trattoria.

Yelp
This place knocked our socks off. I was not expecting the level of authenticity that we had the pleasure of eating. The flavors of the sauces were layered and robust. You can taste the scratch made effort in all of their dishes. We had a couple of the seasonal items including the risotto balls and polenta that served over a balsamic glaze topped with mushrooms and radicchio. They had a crunch and crispiness to them both and they were perfectly fried. We loved the glazed carrots as they had a nice balance of savory and sweet. The bread!! They bring a basket of warm, soft pesto bread with olive oil to dip. I also had a fennel salad with the perfect amount of dressing with essence of truffle and topped with walnuts and goat cheese. That was a true delight. We cleaned our plates naturally and then we obviously needed to try to desert. We had gelato and a poached pear with masala... wow!! It was so so good! Light yet robust. The perfect way to end the meal. I can't forget to mention Our waitress Alycia! She was so attentive and friendly. She had great suggestions and made us feel at home. She was simply pleasant and very enthusiastic about what they were doing at this restaurant. The place is quant and romantic. Great date spot with excellent food and service. Perfect spot before a soccer game at Q2. Perfect spot if you like the best and want something special.

Yelp
A group of us were not impressed with our dishes, just OK; but mostly, dishes suffered from not enough portion-wise.. felt rather skimpy, especially for the price. One of us got the shrimp pasta, which only had 3 shrimps. See pictures people posted.. eg, ravioli, 2 lone scallops appetizer.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is sooo good! One of my favorite Italian spots in Austin! More authentic than what you typically find here. The garlic bread to start is incredible. The pastas are so fresh and yummy. Seriously I'm in love
google avatar

Yelp
This place used to be a diamond in the rough! However, something has changed, and not in a good way. Our server in December came back twice to ask us to remind us what kind of wine we had ordered. By the time the wine got there, we were done eating the completely over-truffle-oiled fennel salad, and onto our under-cooked ravioli dishes. My mother-in-law's ravioli were rubbery!! The ambiance used to be kinda dreamy, but this time the hostess was surly (maybe because she had to keep helping the servers), and the bathroom was unkept. Overall, a VERY disappointing meal, followed by a very expensive bill. BUMMER. Has ownership changed? If not, I hope whoever owns it can either make some improvements or call it quits.

Yelp
Gosh we adore this place. The food is spectacular and the staff goes above and beyond to create an excellent experience. They stick to their roots - keep things simple but do them extraordinarily well. You won't find better Italian food in Austin. We could eat here everyday and never get sick of it!

Yelp
I feel so conflicted about Andiamo. Is it better than many Italian restaurants in Austin. Yes! Is that saying much. No! Everything was good including the service. But nothing was great (edit: actually the Millefoglie was excellent with lots of flaky layers!) or terrible and I've had worse meals at much nicer and more expensive Italian restaurants. But when going out for a nice meal at an Italian spot, you are often seeking a specific ambiance to go along with it, especially if it's a date or special occasion. I was totally open to this place being in a strip mall and have dined at many great restaurants in similar types of locations that make you forget where you are the moment you walk inside. But Andiamo just 'feels' like it's in a strip mall. The entrance is bare with a woman sitting at an office desk as if you've walked in through the back door by mistake (and not in a fun speakeasy way). The decor is kind of fun/wacky with the wood paneling and teal paint. But the lights are way too bright, the glass over the tablecloth(??) is covered in fingerprints, the bathrooms are dirty, and on and on--ambiance just never connects. I really do like Andiamo and could see some people absolutely loving it for all it's quirks, but I doubt that I'll be back.

Yelp
After knowing of this place we finally tried it for our anniversary dinner. Service was ok. Would not provide wine glasses for our mid-teenage kids. Meals were mediocre at best. No interest of going back.

Yelp
Very good service and the pasta was delicious. A bit on the pricey side but a good spot for a date night.

Yelp
First time visitors to this lovely, quaint little Italian restaurant, and I must say, what an unbelievably fabulous experience! OK, I admit, I was somewhat disappointed that no single malt scotch could be found in the building, but the wine list more than made up for it. I even enjoyed trying a new white wine which I had never before heard. Our party of four all raved about the food. I myself ate a very delicate chicken with pancetta and a soft mushroom sauce. Hard to say whether or not the rolled and lightly fried potato, or the unbelievable dessert was my highlight!!

Yelp
Andiamo is a hidden gem in the Austin area that is hidden in a strip mall near the domain area. The restaurant staff is super polite and very knowledgeable they offered great recommendations on the menu. They have a seasonal menu that offers the freshest ingredients and an extensive wine menu. The restaurant is very homey and is a great spot for a nice date night. The menu is authentic Italian that stands out from other Italian restaurants in the states. All the dishes are meant to be family style and can be shared. I started off with the Eggplant it was stuffed with goat cheese and in a tomato based sauce. This was very delicious and a great way to start a meal. Then got an order of the gnocchi and pasta alla Norma. The gnocchi reminded me a lot of macaroni and cheese and the pasta alla Norma, featured penne pasta fried eggplant topped with feta cheese. All of the ingredients paired super well and were absolutely delicious. Then got Bocconotti for dessert which is ravioli stuffed with custard and apples. It tasted like an apple pie and was super delicious. This has to be a place you checkout for authentic Italian in the Austin that features a homey white table cloth dining experience.

Yelp
Nice evening and great food. I'm now annoyed with yelp because my review was a few letters shy by their letter minimum. 5 stars for the business and food; sadly deducting a star for yelp. Don't encourage people to leave reviews but only allow 85+ words

Yelp
**THERE IS AN ADDL CHARGE FOR USING A CARD, no matter the bill amount. ** So I absolutely loved eating here, we went for great food and we got great food! When we walked in it immediately smelled delicious. The location is next to the barbershop, there's lots of parking, it does look shady though so I would park closer to the restaurant. The waiting area is fairly small. It feels warm and very modern with the baby blue walls and decorations they have. I had someone mentioned to me there used to be murals on the wall, so that would've been pretty cool if they still had those since it seems to be a staple in how people remember this place. I was shocked to experience shrinkflation for the first time, and here. The menu is really simple, go with the Lucy Johnson pasta.

Yelp
Wow! Incredible food and service - a real treat. Met a group of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. Incredible flavors- perfect preparation- several friends commented that it was the best Italian food in town and I can certainly see why. Our group basically ordered one of everything- so we all had a taste of some incredible dishes. The plating was outstanding- the food delicious- will definitely come back for an incredible date night

Edward R.

Yelp
This place was a fantastic find for date night! We were greeted with a smile and had an amazing waitress named Alytia that was knowledgeable, humorous and made our experience fantastically memorable. The Carbonara was rich and savory, while the Luci Johnson was delightfully pleasant. And the soup of the day (leek soup)... Don't even get me started on how our tastebuds were blown away!!! We are looking forward to our next visit!

SR M.

Yelp
Food All of it! yES! Starting with THAt bread. Yum! Alycia( server..was charming, sweet and attentive) made great suggestions. Salads! Yes and Yes! Fettuccini Luci Johnson..hilarious and delicious! Sides! Yum and yum! Deserts yes please. See ya again.

Yelp
Very delish and fresh. I came in for a date one evening and it was a very quiet, intimate restaurant. Andiamo Ristorante is a hidden gem tucked away in an older shopping center, so don't be fooled when you drive up because it's an amazing place. The portion sizes are perfect and the pasta was just plain DELICIOUS! Let's not forget the bread too, because it was fresh, warm and not to forget cheesy! Make sure you order an insalate with your meal, they were very fresh and flavorful. We also split a tiramisu, which is the only thing that was a tad bit disappointing but it's not a deal breaker. Great experience.

Eric Y.

Yelp
After work I noticed the restaurant had sent me a gift cert for my bday. Was running errands and decided to grab dinner and treat myself. First impression - I have driven past this strip center hundreds of time and never noticed Andiamo. Easy parking. Modest storefront. Ordered the spinach and beet salad and the the carbonera. This was European quality Italian food. Simple on the face but the complexity of flavors was incredible. Each bite was a win in taste and texture. Finished with a tiramisu which was good but did not meet the quality set by the savory plates. I will be back soon with everyone I know.

Yelp
I loved this place! Great food, great service, great wine, great desert. It reminded me of being in Italy, which is one of my favorite places to visit. I will definitely be back. Try the stuffed eggplant, zucchini linguini, pistachio desert. Wine is excellent as well.

Yelp
Cute and homey restaurant near the domain, with fresh pasta and delicious homemade bread. We got a bottle of the montepulciano to enjoy with our meal and devoured the bread basket. The pasta is fresh and tasty but flavors could be kicked up a notch.

Yelp
When we first drove up, we didn't know what to expect. This place is a gem! We haven't been to many Italian restaurants in Austin that we love and I have say this one might be at the top. The salad was so refreshing and delicious. The two pasta dishes we had were the carbonara and spinach ragu. Both were excellent! My husband slightly preferred the carbonara and I favored the ragu, but we could have easily eaten both. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit to try other dishes!
google avatar

Simon P.

Yelp
One of the most authentic and delicious Italian restaurant in Austin, this is stated by my wife who was born and raised in Italy. Her biggest complaint with Italian restaurant is that they are neither Italian nor delicious but this restaurant is the real deal. Personally the best bread I had ever tasted in my life, they make this garlic cheese bread that just makes you excited for your main entree. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Olivia M.

Yelp
Try the house bread! I've been here with my husband for date night (pre-pandemic); we've also gotten takeout here for our 3 year anniversary (during pandemic). The food I've ordered each time was excellent. I highly recommend the Lucy Johnson-- it is perfection!! And so is the Ravioli di Pollo e Pancetta. Both dishes will have you feeling like you've treated yourself... and why not? You deserve it!
google avatar

Yenah J.

Yelp
Literally one of the best pastas I've ever had. Love the cute vibe inside too. We also ordered calamari for the table which was delicious. You'd never expect this place to be this good based on the location/outside, but the it was seriously great!

Yelp
We enjoyed all aspects of our dinner here. The interior is cozy, neat and clean. Our server was very good and all the dishes we tried were excellent. Honestly, I can't think of a better Italian restaurant in Austin. Don't let the location fool you, this is legit, quality food and a nice dining experience.

Anne Y.

Yelp
We were a party of 12. The private room in the back was ideal so that we could talk and mingle without disturbing other diners. Several of us enjoyed the delicious lamb chops, and my husband said it was the best veal scallopini he'd ever had. The servers were great...attentive and unobtrusive. All in all a delightful evening.

Yelp
We recently celebrated a special event and since the 4 of us have never visited Andiamo we decided to give it a whirl. If you are seeking a romantic dinner in an elegant environment then take a pass. If you want authentic delicious Italian/Sicilian food then this is your place. We were seated immediately by a very pleasant host and our server arrived right behind her with menus bread and water. Oh, the bread! The warm herb cheese bread is a wonderful surprise starter. There is a decent well better than decent wine list with some very good mid-range priced bottles. We ordered the calamari and bruschetta appetizers. The squid was accompanied by fried veggies which was a nice addition. The calamari was fried to perfection. The bruschetta was perfectly seasoned with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil. We ordered the ravioli, seafood pasta, Italian sausage, ravioli, and shrimp pasta entrees for dinner. Each dinner was cooked to perfection and presented wonderfully. The pasta was cooked to al dente perfection. The sausage entree had a nice little spicy surprise. Leave room for dessert! The Boconotti is a homemade baked ravioli filled with apple custard. An Italian apply pie - Awesome! The Millefoglie with blueberry cream is a lite puff pastry filled with blueberry custard - Delish! Now, why only 4 stars. As others have mentioned the chef is a little heavy-handed when it to comes salt. All 4 of us mentioned that there was a tad too much salt in the entrees. Service was spot on and competent. However, our server could not answer simple questions regarding the entrees such as spices and so forth. With that being said Andiamo is a wonderful Italian restaurant and definitely on the must-return list. Maybe next time we will book their private dining room. Molto Buona!

We have been going here for years and it never disappoints. From the quality of the service to the food and wonderful wines. You can't go wrong with this wonderful restaurant. We just went here tonight for our anniversary meal out and had the best time.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Started with the crostini di patate, totally yum! The Osso Buco with risotto is LIFE. Spaghetti alla Carbonara was amazing. Orecchiette Boscaiola was phenomenal. Everything was amazing. Never knew this place existed cuz it's hidden away behind Thundercloud, but I'm so happy we found it.

Yelp
I was so excited to find this restaurant because I love this type of Italian food. I chose it for a birthday meal. the Frito Misto was perfection, light and crisp.I ordered Saltimbocca, one of my favorites. My daughter ordered the Ravioli, which was fine. The Saltimbocca was so tough that I had to ask for a serrated steak knife to cut i. The chicken was dry and flavorless. I chose to pay for a quality meal, and this meal was a disaster for me, having to saw through a chicken breast is ridiculous. I wish it were better, to preserve this cuisine. Patricia Nealon Austin

Yelp
Aye. It was bad food with friendly service. We're always looking for neighborhood gems, and unfortunately after $120 with tip ( why punish the server?) nothing was of a quality or freshness to reflect the cost of two dishes and a salad to start, and we won't be back. A shaved fennel salad was drowned in oils, with truffle being one, and not a hint of the fresh lemon promised. One person ordered an Alfredo that was so salty and pepper laden it was not edible. One person ordered a baked eggplant with cheese and sauce, it was cooked to a pulp with little flavor. Shared three glasses of wine, also meh - and expensive. A focaccia arrived at start so doughy it offered a warm idea of focaccia but tasted of burnt onions. The interior is tired and has posters of Italian destinations, cheery but sadly aspirational.

Yelp
Excellent service and great food! Had the best pasta and desserts! Older atmosphere but the food is absolutely superb

Yelp
Ill start off by saying the food is really good. But I do not think the price point reflects the ambience and presentation I was expecting. The location is a hole in the wall and it showed. There are other places for the same price point that you can find with a better atmosphere and same quality of food and larger portions.

Yelp
Great whole in the wall italian place Some may say it's not fancy enough or they were turned off by there not being enough people there. But this is just simply good Italian good. Service was great. Prices are fair.

Yelp
Tried a couple dishes for take-out recently, the fettuccine ragú and the saltinbocca. The fettuccine had great flavor, but the pasta was very over cooked. Thus 4 stars and not 5. This could partially be due to take-out, but my date's pasta was not overcooked. The saltinbocca was pretty good. Had a very peppery flavor that I enjoyed. I'll happily try this resistant again one day.

Yelp
A true hole in the wall place that deserves more recognition! It was my first time dining here for dinner, and I was a bit skeptical only because it's not like other Italian restaurants in Austin right off of first impressions. However, the staff is extremely friendly and the food is AMAZING! Everything tasted so fresh, even the complimentary bread. The pasta is arguably some of the best that I've had - carbonara was delicious and not too heavy, and the orecchiette was so light and flavorful. The menu also changes seasonally. I need to come back and try one of their wine pairing dinners! Would recommend this spot for a date night dinner as well.

Yelp
I was skeptical with the location of the restaurant when I first arrived but I really enjoy my dining experience with Andiamo Ristorante after all. The staff is super friendly, and I love the jazz music they play in the restaurant. I ordered the linguine luci johnson, and I love how it had various different ingredients in it (lots of mushrooms and veggies!) Their mellefoglie is also uniquely flavored and it is a must try on the dessert menu!

Yelp
Went to celebrate our anniversary. A good experience, but the Trota al Forna would have been better if the fennel had been precooked or cut much thinner. As served, the fennel was so tough that it was difficult to cut, chewy, and destroyed the texture of the trout as you were cutting a piece of the dish. That said, the Frito Misto, Vitello al Limone and Sacher torte were wonderful. The last time we were there they served a lemon twist with the espresso, but not this time.

Yelp
A real gem! Needs more love and recognition! Legit Italian not americanized, high quality food and high quality service. Collin our waiter was super nice and helpful with the menu and we will definitely be coming back!! Favorite Italian place in austin area!!

Yelp
Actually, I give the review 3.5, but I don't have that option. My first visit to this restaurant was last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. It is a small, family owned place in a small strip mall in north Austin. The personnel are very nice, and our service by Emma was especially good. The ambiance is lovely, too. A quiet night, the food, I must report is not exceptional. I had gnocchi al Ragu and two friends had Ravioli ai Funghi, which I tasted. One of our party loved it, and one thought it just OK. Another friend liked her Linguini Luci Johnson. That dish was the least sauce laden dish on the table, but she told me the dish had heavy garlic. Another friend had Insalata di Finnochio and liked it. I will probably go back and order something different. I really wanted to like the food better, but Austin has much better Italian food choices.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying this is probably some of the best Italian food you'll have in Austin, hands down.  To start we had the Pesche Con Prosciutto e Burrata (Fresh peach, prosciutto, mini heirloom tomatoes, basil and burrata cheese) and Carpaccio di Capesante (scallop carpaccio). And the bread, OMG the bread was so warm & delicious - you can't beat fresh Stromboli. For the mains we ordered the Orecchiette alla Boscaiola (Homemade italian ground sausage meat, mushrooms, and spinach in a spicy tomato cream sauce) and the Summer Special which consisted of two lobster tails in spaghetti in light tomato sauce. Both were absolutely delicious, PACKED with flavor and cooked to perfection.  For dessert we indulged and shared the Millefoglie with Blueberry Cream which was phenomenal. Delicious puff pastry filled with blueberry custard - not too sweet, and lots of nice textures. Great way to end the meal. Service was friendly - Emma our server was phenomenal, and made great wine & menu recommendations. This will definitely become our go-to for italian in Austin, truly a gem!

Yelp
Never change, Andiamo. And please never close! Sometimes, when COVID keeps you from having fun, you need carbs. And when I need carbs, I want good carbs. And these are some GOOD carbs. Takeout was fast and easy (about 20 minutes after calling in, which is about the amount of time it takes to put on Pants and drive over anyway.) The herb cheese bread? Still amazing. Drizzled some olive oil on it at home because I forgot to ask for some to go. Fennel salad? Lightly truffled. Crunchy. Bright. Carbonara? Perfect. Well Seasoned. Pasta had great bite. If you need some amazing pasta to get you through the quarantine, come here. You won't regret it. PS- food was eaten too fast for photos. Sorry!

Yelp
Cleanliness: 5 Service: 5 Taste: 5 Quality: 5 I came across Andiamo while browsing Eater's best list for Italian restaurants in Austin. The article mentioned that the pasta at Andiamo was made in house and I immediately decided this was where I would be having dinner. As you pull up to the shopping center where Andiamo is located, you get that "this is one of those hole-in-the-wall ma and pa restaurants" impression. The location is unexpected for a white cloth table, fine dining experience BUT I think that's just the start. Now when you open the doors, you're greeted by the host and then seated. The menu is placed in front of you and you just can't help but notice the blurb about the history and owners of this gem and the Mealshare logo next to select menu items! So, a fine dining Italian restaurant, woman owned and operated & gives back to the community! At this point you think "it doesn't get any better." And then something magical happens. The waiter walks up with a bread basket in hand and set it in the table. So you reach for a slice, dip it in olive oil and take a bite--and in that moment, you are transported to Italy. I ordered the Linguine Luci Johnson--I'm told "This dish is named after Luci Johnson! ( president Johnson and lady Bird daughter) the Family used to dine at Andiamo all together and She asked us to name it after her since #andiamoitaliano is one of her fav restaurants!"--and rightfully so because it was fresh, delicious, balanced and so filling. Undeniably the best plate of pasta I've had in a very long time! My friend ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms and asparagus which was also delicious. The creamy sauce was the perfect compliment to the dish. I truly enjoyed my experience here and simply cannot wait to come back. To say the service was flawless would be an understatement. This Austin Original is a must!
