Andō
A friend reserved a dinner at this charming little restaurant, and I approached the evening with modest expectations, unaware of the culinary delights that awaited us.
The journey was a pleasant stroll from the Central MTR station, leading us to an unassuming building entrance. A quick lift ride whisked us up, opening directly into the restaurant, a lovely introduction to what lay ahead.
As I stepped out, a sophisticated host greeted me with warmth and elegance, guiding me to our table with a welcoming smile.
The ambience of Andō is intimate yet thoughtfully arranged, creating an inviting atmosphere. Each table is generously spaced, allowing for private conversations without intrusion, making it the perfect setting for a memorable evening.
We chose the experience menu, a culinary adventure that unfolded like a beautifully crafted story. Each course was a testament to the chef's artistry and attention to detail, showcasing a breathtaking selection of ingredients and beautifully presented dishes.
Although I didn't catch the names of every dish, I made sure to capture the experience through photos.
Remarks:
☆ The sourdough was a revelation, served warm alongside a house-made paste that, I believe, featured delicate salmon, rich and velvety in texture.
☆ The Iberico pork was nothing short of extraordinary. It was succulent and tender, enhanced by a luscious onion sauce that danced harmoniously on the palate.
☆ The pastries and desserts were exceptional, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity and leaving a memorable impression.
Throughout our dinner, the attentive staff brought each dish to life, offering insightful details about the flavours and textures. Their passion and knowledge added depth to the experience, making each bite feel even more special.
