Having been a regular at Andre's Italian Restaurant since I was a child, especially during its previous location next to The Grove, I can attest to the authenticity and quality of their Italian cuisine. This place holds a particular spot in my heart, as it was our go-to spot every Sunday with friends.
Andre's, now located in a different part of Mid-City, still maintains its charm and delicious offerings. The restaurant is hidden, adding to its allure, and is known for its value and huge portions. Their spaghetti, in particular, is a standout - it's the kind of dish that's simple yet perfectly executed, making it an unforgettable favorite. The meat sauce is rich and flavorful, a testament to the genuine Italian taste Andre's prides itself on. If you're a Rao's Sauce fan, I assure you you will love this place. Andre's is like Rao's but enhanced in every way.
The ambiance is casual and welcoming, fitting the vibe of a mom-and-pop eatery. It's a cash-only establishment, which adds to its old-school charm. The service is quick and efficient, often with lines indicating its popularity among locals and visitors. In addition to the spaghetti, their Italian sausages, meatballs, and garlic bread are worth trying. For those with a sweet tooth, the tiramisu is a must - it's as authentic as it gets outside of Italy (it's a bit sweeter than what I personally consider "authentic" tiramisu from Italy, but it's close!).
