"I noted that Andre’s Italian Restaurant reopened in Mid-Wilshire on April 11 and now resides inside the historic Dominguez-Wilshire Building at Wilshire Boulevard and Cloverdale after 59 years across the street from the Original Farmers Market and a forced 2022 closure for a new development. The family-operated red-sauce specialist, co-owned by Stephanie Gagliarducci (grandniece of founder Dominic Andreone), moved from a short stint inside the short-lived Eleven City Diner into a stunning, considerably larger space where guests can still order heaping piles of spaghetti or hot lasagna platters from the cafeteria line; gelato service and outdoor seating will come later. While dining, be sure to glance up at the painted mural depicting Andre’s history in LA — the founder, Dominic Andreone, opened the original Andre’s at the Town and Country shopping center in 1963 and died in 2022 at age 99. Andre’s is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m." - Mona Holmes
