Anemone

We had a ton of dishes at Anemone MTL and everything was excellent, but a few really stood out. The carpaccio was delicate and perfectly seasoned, the mushroom hand rolls were earthy and flavorful, and the short rib was rich and tender. The duck was cooked beautifully with great depth of flavor, and the blueberry sage dessert was such a unique and delicious finish. We were super late because of traffic and unforeseen circumstances, but the staff kindly held our table, and it was so worth it once we sat down. The servers were attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere struck the right balance between polished and relaxed. Overall, it’s the kind of place I’d happily come back to and one I’d recommend if you’re in Montreal looking for refined, creative dishes.

A very original menu that combines Asian ingredients with French techniques. The location is easy to miss but once inside, it’s like a secret garden . Modest yet elegant decor with a rustic feel . The meals are easy to share and not too heavy which allows you to discover many different menu items . The bread is a MUST.. at first I was not sure about ordering bread with such Asian-influenced food but I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.. I just wish I had the recipe and some starter to take with me :) The cocktails are delicious and so was the dessert.. and service was impeccable!

Finally experienced Anemone after nearly a year of wanting to try it! Certainly did not disappoint. We tried the MtlaLaTable set menu and had the chance to try 7 different dishes between the two of us. Each dish was easily shareable, and prepared with a lot of love and attention. Each plate offered a unique tasting experience, and paired well with the orange wine that was recommended to us. We started the night with cocktails which were also fantastic. We purposefully booked bar seats and had absolutely no regret… in fact, this was perhaps the highlight for us! Their kitchen is completely open and a seat at the bar gives you full insight into the prep and cooking process. Honestly it felt like an immersive theater experience! Highly recommend giving Anemone a try :)

Was excited to try out this new place, and booked ahead. The restaurant has a nice charm and atmosphere, started the dining experience with the cocktail of the day, which was alright a bit pricey for what it was. We then proceeded the evening with a variety selection of different dishes suggested by our waiter. The portions were alright not too small and not too overwhelming, enough to enjoy the different flavour combinations in each dish. Although the dishes overall I didn’t find very special, especially for the price and it being a restaurant in Montreal. The noodle dish was the supposed best recommended dish and that was pretty average. When it came to the service, it was great and our party felt that we were well taken care of all evening. Would probably come back in the summer to see how the menu evolves. I say it’s worth checking out, I just left a bit disappointed.

Love the creativity and the vibe of this place. The food was refined, with every dish carefully thought out. If i could i would give 4.5 stars for the food, but alas i have to give 4 stars because some dishes kind of missed the mark, and at such a high price it can’t go unnoticed. Some dishes were INCREDIBLE and others really good but nothing crazy. Every dish was unique, but i would’ve loved to see even more eclectic combinations and tastes. Nevertheless, a great meal if you want to celebrate with loved ones. We loved loved loved the razor clams and the ris de veau. Could’ve skipped the temaki honestly. We also liked being able to see the chefs cooking (they also had a little barbecue to cook the asparagus which was fun).

What a great night out we had at Anemone!! Kevin and the staff there were awesome, and the food was amazing from beginning to the end. A really top notch spot and worth every penny! Thanks again for the chilli crisp, it really does go on everything (like my eggs for breakfast this morning!)

Superb! From the uniqueness of each dish to the well crafted wine list and AMAZING service... can't say enough good things. Is it a bit far out of the way? - yes. Is it well worth it? - hell yes.

Each dish was a work of art. Michelle star menu, with explosive flavour, balance and complexity. You have to try some of their specials, we got the soba noodles with crab which was delicious and the uni hand rolls. Service was excellent and our waitress explained the dish in detail. Menu changes with the season, looking forward to visiting again.

I went to Orange Rouge a few years back. The menu was hit and miss, the hits were amazing, and the misses disastrous. Meant to go back but they closed after the pandemic. Anemone is the Chef's new endeavour... and I must say he has improved by leaps and bounds. The food is original, melding asian flavours with western dishes. This food I connect with on a very personal level because I too am an asian who grew up in Quebec... Definitely must have dish is the Biang Biang noodles, the mushroom dish...the sweetbread was amazing, tuna was good, we had five dishes and only the sea urchin dish disappointed me... The menu changes often, and so I will go often :)

Excellent food and excellent service. Staff is very personable and the food is consistently creative and well-executed. The highlight of my last meal at Anemone was definitely the eel with foie-gras, rutabaga and ice cider. The scallops with shiitake were also delicious as was their special of the evening, a beef flank. Unfortunately both the veal cheeks and sea urchin tart were unavailable that evening. The dishes seem small, but four shared with my dinner guest was more than enough. Their homemade bread is to die for. It was a full house the night of our visit but it's never too loud to enjoy conversation and there's no loud music playing which is a plus. Highly recommend.
