I very rarely give five stars across the board for everything. But this place was wonderful. The food was good and priced appropriately. The service staff bright and engaging. And the atmosphere was just fun. And I do like that. There were all types of people welcome here. That made everyone feel included. When we were there, they were young and old, gay and straight, and everybody in between all getting along, enjoying delicious coffee and ice cream.

Was down two doors for dinner amd decided to come try this for dessert!!I was so excited to try the Boston cream cupcake it was beautifully decorated but lacked flavor for me!!!The was only a small amount of Bavarian cream which would have been better had there been more!!I also ordered the blueberry crumb donut amd the seasonal pumpkin spice donut!! My Daughter ordered the fruity pebbles donut and she really liked it!!!Really cute shop ,they have all kinds of cute novelty items for sale...Just a little underwhelmed for me !!!

I am so grateful to have Angelfood as neighborhood spot. Their cold brew is my favorite in the area and they offer a discount if you bring your own *CLEAN* mug (I asked once and yes, people try to use dirty mugs). I also love the savory scones and the everything pretzel too! Hot tip: The macaron ice cream sandwiches at Frio Frio in the back part of the store are the best ice cream sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. I introduced some cyclist friends to them, and they now they stop to get one every time they bike by in the summer. Such a neighborhood treasure.

We chose Angel Food Bakery for our wedding desserts, including cookies, cupcakes, and donuts, and they were a huge hit with our guests. We received many compliments, and several guests went back for seconds and thirds. In addition to the amazing desserts, working with Angel Food Bakery was very smooth. We were able to easily place our order and schedule delivery online, and their email communication was timely and reliable. I can’t recommend them enough!

I was craving something sweet and have always heard great things about angel foods. I purchased two donuts and two cupcakes. They were spectacular. My interaction with their service worker was also very pleasant. She was attentive and easy to talk to. Will return again!

Welcoming staff, amazing donuts, fresh coffee. My children and I love walking to Angel Food Bakery and are able to see all of their baked goods on display. They also have a sitting area to watch them finish donuts and cupcakes. It’s a great environment to work on some things or hang out with friends and family.

Angel Food Bakery has some of the best food and staff that I know of. They always make us feel welcome and safe whenever we are trying their savory scones or delectable donuts. SLP loves our neighborhood donut shop!

Delicious donut selection, not too sticky sweet, but so good. 85 characters needed, but what more is there to say? Oh wait, I do appreciate the compostable coffee to go cups & lids, but not the sleeves?

First the good - my iced Americano was cool & refreshing. The needs improving is the basic glazed donut which should have been light & fluffy; was more solid like a day old donut. Regret not saying something but I was on a time crunch. Cleaning the table tops is another area to improve, so many stains and sticky surfaces. Visited midweek though I should still have fresh options. Another item to consider is to have fresh samples on display or not at all... the egg sandwich displayed appeared dry & not appealing.

So, on my trip to Minneapolis, I was looking very forward to going to what I thought was my favorite bakery after seeing my grandson. I discovered the Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar when I was in the Minneapolis Airport Terminal 1 in the last year or so, and I sent many, many, many people to that bakery as they were flying through that terminal. I fell in love with the coconut macaroons--they were the most delicate and delicious I have ever had in my life. So naturally, I was excited to go to one of the flagship stores and experience this for myself. A couple of days later, I decided, okay, let's go to Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar. I had my son-in-law and my daughter pack us all up, which was quite a little bit of a journey, and take us there. You'd think a place called Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar would have angels working there, right? Well, as we arrived and I stepped in, it didn't quite feel like heaven. The atmosphere was kind of still, and the staff didn't exactly radiate joy. I noticed there were no coconut macaroons in sight, so (keep the word "so" in mind) I asked a young lady at the counter, "Do you have any coconut macaroons today?" Bursting with excitement, I couldn't help but add, "Oh, I came all the way from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!"--you know, with that kind of Southern charm and genuine eagerness only a true macaroon lover can muster. But her response? A flat, uninterested "No." No smile, no "I'm so sorry," no "Wow, that's a long way!"--just a bland "No," as if my excitement was a minor inconvenience in her day. And then, as if to add insult to injury, she followed up with a casual, "So?" Not exactly the heavenly response I was expecting. Still, not wanting to leave empty-handed after all that effort, I ordered a curry puff pastry. It was good, but here's the thing: she asked if I wanted it warmed, and I said yes--just for a few seconds, slightly warm. Instead, I stood there for what seemed like over a minute, and when I finally got it, the pastry was so hot I couldn't even eat it right away. Meanwhile, my son-in-law, who had ordered a strawberry crunch donut, and my daughter had finished their treats while I was still waiting for mine to cool down. As we were eating, I noticed the same girl, Bridget, walk by and leave. It was clear she didn't want to be there, and unfortunately, that feeling carried through the rest of our visit. Even when I mentioned the poor service to another staff member, I got nothing but a dismissive "oh." Not a word from the manager or anyone else as we left--no "goodbye," "thank you," or even a simple "hope you enjoyed your visit." Now, I know that bakeries change their goods regularly, and it's on me to call ahead and check if what I'm craving is in stock. But this wasn't about the macaroons; it was about the service. As I flew in, I saw a huge sign proclaiming "Minnesota Nice," but after my experience at Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar, I'm left wondering--where was the Minnesota Nice? And where was the Angel at Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar? I'm left sad for how many people I sent to this bakery over the years. It might have been an off day, but if you're going to work at a place called Angel Food Bakery and Coffee Bar, please, try to be more of an angel and less of a Bored Bridget.

I am not sure how I have not reviewed Angel Food sooner. This gem is a favorite spot when the donut craving hit! Located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking but on a busy day you may need to walk a little bit. There is more seating than you may expect inside and the staff is always friendly. You'll find people gathering for social reasons, laptops out for work, or even just reading a book. The Ambiance is fresh and open and fun. You have a lot of delicious choices to pick from. I love their donuts as they are so fluffy and doughy. Flavors are always on point. You can get cookies, cupcakes, soft pretzels...lots of options. I did finally try their breakfast sandwich and was so tasty and the biscuit was super flaky. Add onto the that ability to grab coffee or other beverages and it's a wonderful all around. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, I recommend it!

I love this bakery and I love having it nearby! The cupcake and donut selection is great. They always have delicious treats to select from. I tried a new treat called "Croissant Doghnapart" which is essentially somewhere between a donut and a croissant; it is light and airy and truly brings out the best of each of the parent desserts. As always the staff were very nice. I highly recommend!

Just go - you won't regret it. We buy a minimum of 3 things each when we go because everything is so good. P.S. the raspberry donut frosting is AMAZING and not like fake flavored frosting

A great spot to grab baked goods and coffees hidden in SLP! I got a Carmel latte and the blueberry pie donut. It was incredible! It was very busy on a Saturday morning - I tried to work on my laptop here, and while there was many outlets, it was very noisy. That might be better during the week. Overall incredible baked goods, but would take to go! I also got the pretzel and cheese to go

I actually can't believe I haven't written a review about this place before now. It's a staple in our house when we NEEEEED a little bit of a fancy donut. My go to is the cold brew and the Sunday morning donut (or whatever the one with the cereal on it is called). Delicious. I love that they have extra merch on the side walls - aprons, birthday candles (genius), and more. I have been here to pick up and leave and I've also visited with the intent to stay longer. You can't go wrong. I feel like they treat their employees really well here because every person who has helped me is just the kindest. This bakery feels like a community hot spot because of the location, service, general fantastic vibes, and of course, their donuts, baked goods, and coffee. I love love love it here.

Donut Time [Minneapolis MN] On Day #2 of our workshop we had donuts brought in by our colleague purchased from Angel Food. They came in an assortment of flavors. I didn't care much for the fancy donuts and I just chose the raised glazed... two of them. LoL! They are pretty big from a normal glazed donut. It wasn't pillow soft like others I've had in the past and the dough was a little dense. Not too sweet, imo. Actually, it was just the right sweetness for me. I was told that everything was homemade and made from scratch. I could definitely tell. If you need treats from Downtown Minneapolis this is the place. Looking forward to trying other baked goods they offer upon my return to MN. Review #3114

Nice chocolate cookies and service was top notch! Will def return! Cool vibe. They have a lot of selection and gluten free options so accommodating.

Came here with a friend to catch up and there is plenty of seating for everyone. The counter service is quick and efficient and there are tons of delicious flavors of donuts and other treats to choose from, as well as coffee and tea. I got the blueberry pie donut as recommended by someone behind the counter, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is lively and fun and there is plenty of parking in the lot. I will definitely be returning to try more!

I am constantly in the pursuit of the best simple but interesting raised donut in the twin cities- this is a great lead. I'm really excited to try more flavors. The staff was kind, it was a great bright space to study in, and the treats were all delicious.

Amazing doughnuts! Cute bakery with plenty of seating. Also plenty of parking (granted, I was here in the late afternoon - I believe it could get very busy in the morning!) Friendly, helpful staff and decorative, fluffy, flavorful doughnuts! My favorite was the one with Fruity Pebbles on top!

I'll be honest and say that I went to Angel Food Bakery for one thing and one thing only: the Star Tribune recommended Chocolate Chip Cookie. I came, I saw, I ate, and WOW. Verdict: delicious and deserving of its title as one of the best chocolate chip cookies in the Twin Cities. It was chewy, crispy, melty, and ultimately, pretty much perfect. 10/10 would eat again. Parking: Lots, no worries.

This was the first time in years that I'd been to Angel Food. They used to be outside of Hell's Kitchen downtown, so I went there more often than I should have. We tend to avoid the western suburbs, so we'd not had a chance to visit. Decided that we would and knew that it would be worth it. We got a mix of donuts and cookies, which we had to fight the urge to tear into while driving back east. I do have to admit that I wasn't overly impressed with the croissant donut. It was good, but not as good as the regular donut I got. The lemon thyme cookies were tasty. When we're back in this direction, we will stop by again. The service is stellar and the food is top notch.

Many donuts and cupcakes to choose from, so many it was hard to choose! Service was Quinn but there was a line. Ambulance was comfortable with lots of tables, chairs. Rainy day so we could not sit outside but good experience. We will be back!

Been here twice now and great both times! Their donuts are creative and super good. Was very impressed with their iced latte and they accommodated me wanting a bit less syrup which was super nice! Cute little spot, I look forward to going back to try more things!

Came by and picked up a few donuts. They also have a full on ice cream bar. However, it was not open, so I am thinking it may be a seasonal part of there store they open. Parking: they have a parking lot with plenty of parking.

I made the trip to Angel Food Bakery for a cup of coffee with coworkers. The space they have is really nice - a huge countertop displaying their donut and baked good selection, floor to ceiling windows, and an ice cream shop tucked in the back. The staff were quick to greet me and were so friendly and helpful! I ordered an iced coffee with oat milk and they were super quick to serve it. The coffee was great! Loved the flavor - it was a lot more flavorful than the quick cups I make at home. They also have beer on tap and some cans of beer and wine. Overall a great first experience and I'll be back!

If you are looking for a nice little spot to have some coffee and a donut while relaxing then this is the place. The place is very clean and spacious. The staff is about average when it comes to friendly and the prices are a bit high. I still enjoy coming here once in awhile

I absolutely love this place! Located in a strip mall that is getting a whole refreshed look you will find this gem. There donut options are absolutely so fun! I had visited on my own the first time and have since made it a special place that my mom will bring my niece when she is doing daycare so her and I can have a donut date! The staff is absolutely so amazing even when I bring my niece (who is just under 2) with me and let her pick out her donut (sprinkles of course). On our last visit she took interest to the bakers making stuff. There is a window that you can sit at and watch them make all their yummy goodness. The baker noticed my nieces interest and engaged with her and even brought her a sticker. The donuts are all absolutely delicious! They have quarky flavors and normal flavors and the quality is excellent. I have hung around after or before and done some work and it has been a great experience. Rumor is they sell cronuts but they sell out insanely fast so I have yet to see one.

Having moved away from Minneapolis about six years ago, I was needing my fix. I didn't realize that they had moved out of their skyway location, but was pleasantly surprised to find that they were not far from the hotel I was staying at. This new location is amazing. I love the layout. I love that. You can see the kitchen like you could in the old location and all of the staff was very very friendly. What a great addition to the Tex Tonka area.

After admiring Angel Food from afar, someone at my work brought some donuts in as a treat! I was blown away, and this might be my new favorite donut place in the TC. Unfortunately, since I didn't pick up the box, I'm not sure what the flavors were - plus it was hard to snag a picture before everyone dug in! But, I feel like that's a testament to how good these donuts were. If you're a light & fluffy donut person like I am, these are definitely for you. I don't think any of them were cakey - but that could've been the options that were chosen for the box. I tried two of the donuts - one with fluffy with cream and almonds on top, and one that looked like a Samoa. I fell in love with this almond donut. The donut itself was airy and chewy - plus the light whipped cream was a great change of pace. The shaved almonds added the perfect crunch. The Samoa donut tasted just like the Girl Scout cookie! It was deliciously sweet, but a little less airy than the first donut I tried. I would definitely get donuts here again, and I'm so curious to try their other treats! I will have to stop by the store in SLP for coffee too.

I am a little confused that there seem to be two identical places to review on Yelp- but with different hours. Aside from the initial confusion, we decided to stop in on a Sunday afternoon to see if they were open and they were. Ordered a donut and a coffee. Hard to judge the donut as it was not purchased in the morning so I am going to trust the other reviews that tasted fresh donuts instead :) Great friendly service and free parking in the shopping strip lot. Glad St. Louis park has a spot like this!

Started a Friday morning in this gem of a coffee and bakery joint enjoying their cold brew and a French Cruller! The donut was perfectly crisp on the outside yet tender inside. Coffee was smooth with a chocolate note. Service was quick and the atmosphere is bright and friendly. So many wonderful looking bakery choices! They also have a pleasant patio.

Doughnuts were pretty good - not many places seem to have crullers so that was a great surprise! They had some fun flavors, nothing crazy, but a good variety. The strawberry milkshake wasn't quite as strong a flavor as I would have liked. A little expensive but overall good experience. We went on a Saturday morning about 9-10am. Line length seemed to fluctuate but moves relatively quickly. And they seemed to be making more throughout the morning so weren't anywhere close to running out. Will likely go back!

This is my kids favorite place to head on a saturday AM. We get a couple of donuts and get to watch them make cupcakes. Wonderful flavors and such a great treat. Bring your own coffee mug for a discount

Fun flavors for sure!! Their icing is 6 stars!! Can't be beat. However, I do wish their raised donuts were just a little fluffier. They have a nice display of the donuts and a good variety of flavors, and also scone and cupcake options. This week (Valentine's Day was a few days ago) they have fun heart shaped donuts! Plenty of parking and plenty of seating!

My girlfriend and I have made this our go to coffee shop on Saturday's. The pastries are good, especially the jalapeño cheese croissant! The employees are nice, and its a nice quaint spot.

I was excited about the new spot in the Texa-Tonka strip, and waited for the lines to die down a bit before trying this place out! This place has all the necessary components, but lacks the "special sauce" to make it stand out. Service was friendly enough, but I felt more rushed than welcomed. I ended up getting a "croissant" donut and a vanilla latte. I was expecting a little more effort on the latte, as the steamed milk was just kinda slopped on top, not crafted into the latte art I expect from $6 latte, compared with other spots in the Cities. The donut was a sugar bomb, and too sweet for my taste, but that's more of a personal preference. The space has potential, but still feels a bit "sterile". Everything is spaced out well, but I was looking for a bit more "coziness" from the interior. I worked for about three hours on a Friday morning, and there was more than enough space! Worth a stop if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip here quite yet.

This is a re-opening of a fantastic downtown Minneapolis favorite bakery and Donut shop. The lines are massive, but the donuts are excellent. We got a chocolate frosted Donut and a blueberry Donut. Both were very good. The staff is efficient at keeping things moving, too. There is ample parking outside as well.

This place is chefs kiss. the staff, the aesthetic, the DONUTS, the cleanliness, all of it. I love being greeted with a genuinely happy face at 7am. The blueberry pie donut is perfect if you like a little bit of tart & the cruller, you MUST have a cruller. It will change your life, you'll thank me later.

The cookie was good but my donut was kind of hard. We did stop in late in the day but if you sell donuts all day they should be good all day.

I've been here a few times and have tried different donuts (more than three since I have been here with friends and we shared). They are ok, not great. I had the glazed donut recently -- all of the glaze fell off on the first bite, leaving most of the donut naked. Definitely not something to eat in the car. As for the rest of them, I can't remember anything about them -- i.e., not very memorable sad to say.

Angel food Hackett also has frio frio ice cream in the back. Angel food has a bunch of delicious donut options- their traditional glazed with sprinkles is iconic. Their fun flavors are French cruller and dough-napart (croissant donut). Their big a** pretzel is everything you want!

We ordered the Happy Birthday donut assortment and all I can say is "meh". The cake was too dry for our liking and the donut decoration was a bit sloppy. They could certainly learn a lot from NYC's The Donut Plant.

I have had very good coffees here and very bad coffees of the exact same order. Pastries are really nicely priced and have a large selection as well. Staff have always been really nice and patient. The store itself is very large and feels a bit out of place in its location but is nice enough to visit, risking the potential of just OK coffee

This is such a fun fresh donut shop! I love the evolving donut selection. I am a sucker for a good sprinkle. The french vanilla latte tasted just as it should. My favorite part was watching them frost and decorate the donuts as if we had a behind-the-scenes view while catching up with a good friend.

I had heard about Angel Food Bakery as a place with vegan treats, so I was excited to visit on my trip to Minneapolis. I met with a local acquaintance here and when I asked about anything vegan in the case that particular day, there was only one item: a dark chocolate chocolate-chip cookie. I was hoping for more variety, but I love chocolate, so I ordered the cookie. It was delicious -- moist, not too crumbly, very chocolatey. My companion ordered the strawberry milkshake donut (nonvegan) and enjoyed it as well. I wanted to order something decaf but they only offer decaf drip coffee, so I was once again limited in my options. The decaf was good, though. I think, if you come to this place knowing that it's not "A VEGAN" bakery (or even "A GLUTEN FREE" one) then you can enjoy it for what it is. The decor was cute, loved the big windows and light in the space, and had a good time while I was there chatting with my companion. Not a perfect place, but a good one.

Cute little donut shop tucked away in a strip mall. Lots of different donut choices and coffee. I enjoyed getting to see some interesting combinations but ultimately we were here for the coffee bar and not donuts. The espresso was good and affordable which was surprising. Staff was helpful and nice despite the location closing within ten minutes of being there. There is some outdoor seating along with options inside. It's a nice atmosphere that I wouldn't mind catching up with a friend in. I hope to return and try a couple of the donuts.

There's a new coffee shop and bakery in St. Louis Park: Angel Food Coffee Bar and Bakery, and I would encourage all who are reading this to make a beeline for the newly updated Texa-Tonka strip mall to check it out. The coffee was fresh, hot and robust. And the French Crullers, a delicately fried donut with a not-too-sugary glaze is to die for. You'll want to eat a dozen of them on the spot-- if they didn't run out before you got there. And the large ginger cookies are a great runner-up. They're new, and in the pandemic economy success is less guaranteed than it otherwise would be. But if the pleasant waitstaff and excellent baked goods we tried are an indication, Angel Food should be around for a long time. At least, I hope so.

I've always eyed Angel Food Bakery when i walked by it downtown, but never bought anything because the timing was never right (I'm always downtown for reasons other than donuts), but I'm glad they opened one in SLP! The coffee is solid and doughnuts are delicious- not to sweet but just sweet enough. Although the line is long, the wait is worth it. There's also spots to sit if you want to enjoy your doughnut in-store, but we opted to take ours home.

Angel Food has a nice open floor plan. Something to appreciate during COVID. I looked in the case and ordered a raspberry chocolate chip donut and the brunch donut. I ate the brunch one, it was tasty. I'm saving the other one for my wife. I cannot say much else as I was in and out quickly.

Food - 2. They didn't have old fashioned donuts, so I went with a pretzel. The pretzel was way too sweet for a pretzel. While pretzels are all about the salt, this one had too much. Ambiance - 5. Very cute decor Accessibility - 5. Lots of parking

We gotta love their motto: We Be Sprinkle Wizards! Be kind-Be a Glaze Warrior (next to an amazing glazed donut). They believe that the world is better with sprinkles & that tongues need to live an interesting life. YES! Unusual creations to stuff in your mouth-it was so much fun to take a 3 year old here. She picked out a pink sprinkled donut, I'm assuming it was good because she wouldn't share with us. Grandpa loved the maple/bacon creation (again-I didn't get to try it-he wouldn't share). My choice was the blueberry creation-amazing! Nope, you won't find this kind of donut at the grocery bakery. The lattes were SUPERB! Latte, like it was meant to be: Creamy/frothy/right ratio of coffee & froth SO YOU CAN TASTE THE COFFEE.

Love their Frio Frio !! It's only there from spring to end of fall but if is so delicious! I'm sure their bakery products are also good but I have never tried. Always neat and clean with friendly workers.

Just stopped in for the first time. Amazing how busy they are even in the afternoon. I know why. Phenomenal donuts, great selection, and really good coffee. We can't wait to return.

The donuts are delicious, but the coffee is terrible; possibly the worst coffee I've ever had. The ambience is similar to a high school cafeteria, and the prices are ridiculous. Better to just pick up some donuts at Cub.
