I had an exceptional dining experience here. They stayed open late so my daughter & I could enjoy a meal. We were not disappointed!

Delicious Italian food. Highly recommend the baked ziti, and if you can get a side of marinara sauce to dip the amazing garlic knots in, that's the pro move. Great staff and great food, will definitely be back.

Google
Garlic knots were awesome. My fettucine alfredo was great, but too high of a sauce to pasta ratio. Salad bowl arrived with a chip in it. I thought that was an outlier but then my entree plate also had a chip in it. Utensils were not provided until after salad had already been served. Mistakes were made on multiple orders at our table and had to be sent back to be corrected. Place was not busy at all at the time, so that was not an excuse for the confusion. Hostess was super nice and apologized, but it seemed like it was an ongoing situation that day as I also overheard apologies at a table across from ours.

Staff were nice and accommodating. Nice artwork and painting giving Italian atmosphere. I wish they were playing music that matches Italian atmosphere. The lighting could have been better. Clean bathrooms. Started with the house salad and bread -5 Salad had too much dressing on it. Bread was homemade and tasty but too much oil. Spaghetti was a 7 The pasta quality was average at best. The sauce was well balanced but seemed store brought. This meal cost $14. I believe the portion was decent for the cost. Stuffed mushrooms were a 6 They were not stuffed with real crab meat and I didn’t taste any ricotta cheese or bread crumb. The cheese was good that the mushrooms came in. Italian margarita was a 5 They were out of orange juice so I subbed pineapple juice and it did not hit. Dessert wine was a 9 Silk pie is just a chocolate cake. They were out of chocolate syrup. We went to Angelo's on a Saturday evening for a date night. Where to begin? The atmosphere inside and out was divine. The food was out of this world. I had the chicken parmigiana with a house salad and rolls. My partner had the veal pepper. Both were incredibly tender and flavorful, with pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. We shared the crab cakes appetizer and it was definitely a highlight of the meal. Lightly breaded and smothered in a housemade cream pesto sauce with sun dried tomatoes over angel hair pasta. It was without a doubt one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Homemade garlic rolls were perfect 👌 as was the salad dressing. Our service was incredible and Angelo was so kind and accommodating. One of the best people in America!

This place will blow your socks off best Italian food in evansville and it's not close

Google
Let me start with I have eaten alot of italian food, I lived in New York city for awhile. So my expectations are never to high in the area. We got 3 appetizers first stuffed mushrooms, they were not great, not much flavor at all couldn't taste or see the crab, and they used white button mushrooms. All the kids enjoyed the baked ravioli, and cheese sticks I didn't try them. Then salad and rolls came out, the salad was nothing special olive gardens salad is much better. The rolls or garlic knots were excellent, probably the best thing I ate. I got pasta carbonara it was ok, small portion. My wife got lasagna she wasn't to impressed. Our friends got eggplant parm and said it was OK it would have been better if it came with a pasta, and also the chicken corden blue to which they said was excellent. So overall it was so so, I have had better at small pizzerias in the north, but everyone's tastes are different so don't let my opinion sway your decision alot of people seem to like this place.

Google
Best Italian in town. Building could use an update, but the food makes up for that tenfold. Never had a long wait and the owner is always around checking on people.

Yelp
We were in a rush since we were trying to get to the OVC championship and they were more than happy to accommodate this request. Highly recommend the shrimp and scallops with pasta! To our surprise, dinner included a salad and garlic bread. The service was fast and excellent.

Yelp
We went here after being told hour long wait at several other nearby restaurants and ultimately I'm so glad we ended up here! We love family owned vibes and glad for that bc we even got to meet the owner! The food was absolutely fantastic. I got the ravioli and it was some of the best sauce I've ever had. Very tomato based! The salad was excellent as well. I do recommend getting a dip for the bread bc without one, it was pretty plain (still very good though). The server we had was very kind and hooked us up in more ways than one. She also seemed to be very distracted, as our service was extremely slow and other servers were taking our orders and bussing our table for her. We will be returning here in the future!

Yelp
I always like to start off with the positive. On a warm summery evening, under the shade of huge trees overhead, the sidewalk outdoor dining ambiance of this place is as nice as any place in Rome. And the staff is great -- friendly, prompt and helpful. Now for the bad news: what they gain in atmosphere they lose by cooking lousy food. We shouldn't have to throw $15 onto a plate of food to eat what tastes like leftovers, should we? But when you order "crab cakes served on a bed of Angel Hair pasta," and it arrives within three minutes, noodles hopelessly mushy and crab cakes barely warm, you know that this dish was sitting in the fridge when you took your seat and was microwaved shortly after you ordered it. It gets worse. The "crab cakes" were made from a product called "artificial crab," which is a mass produced, pressed fish meal food substitute and costs about $3 a pound in a supermarket. It has no actual crab in it. Maybe this restaurant thinks it's fooling someone -- and maybe it is -- but that someone is not me. C'mon Angelo, do the right thing. Serve some decent food! You've got a great location, now do something with it. And Angelo, make it a dining experience! Italian dining is not done in 30 minutes. Stop rushing people. Grazie.

Yelp
This food was excellent! The owner was very accommodating to my husband's allergy. The service was great and very friendly. I would love to try everything on the menu! However, we live about 200 miles away. Please try this hidden gem in Evansville,IN

Yelp
Great food. Cleaning looking service was good. Parking is good. Nice place to take family. Highly suggest

Yelp
Food was superb. However, treated like an inconvenience from waiter. I would have given a 5 star had the service been even a little better. When i walked in the one seating people completely ignored me. And the waiter never once smiled, and barely stopped at the table to get my order: had to ask another waiter for change so i could leave. Just because of service would not recommend especially for the price. And i left a generous tip.

Yelp
Food was amazing!!! Love the service, he was super nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very quiet and pleasant. Everything was perfect!

Yelp
Angelo's is good, solid Italian food that it feels like it's catering to their guest base. Service is kind and professional. Friendly with suggestions and happy to help. The house salad is very good. Nice dressing but a free too many chopped black olives which are a bit out of place. I had the Chicken ala Crema. The chicken is tenderized and falls apart under a very thick sauce. Mushrooms were not overcooked which was nice. It's a take on Marsala but the cream gets in the way. So much sauce. Good flavors but it was hard to taste anything but the sauce. Perfectly cooked pasta. They understand the process perfectly. I also had the Tiramisu. The dessert was quite authentic and the server said was made in house. The top layer was a bit frozen so I think the refrigerator was set too low. A nice place. I'll order my dish with easy sauce next time.

Yelp
This is one of the true Italian restaurants in EVANSVILLE. Everything is good. Tried the pizza tonight. DELICIOUS. Not my first choice with all the other good things on the menu. Definitely 4.5 bellies

Michael N.

Yelp
Owner usees the best tomatoes and the best mozzarella available on the comercial market. Top notch eggplant parmesan layered with ricotta. Pizza would be awesome but the crust is terrible I suspect frozen pizza shells and then proofed in house. Only in Indiana would an Italian restaurant get away with that. Pizza was disappointing. Great service

Yelp
Delicious food and customer service . So far it's my favorite Italian restaurant . Love absolutely everything in the menu.

Yelp
Great service, great food, and very good atmosphere! I recommend the eggplant parmigiana.

Yelp
This place definitely blew my expectations out of the water. From walking in to leaving, everything was perfect. I recommend trying the tortellini with chicken. Definitely will be coming back!!

Yelp
To be very honest the food is very normal. Like a olive garden type of style, not bad but nothing surprising.

Yelp
FAVORITE place to eat when visiting on business. In one week I went there 3 times. The chicken cordon blue is the BEST. Service is always amazing and their fountain Cokes are the best......real Coke loves will get how important that is.
google avatar

Ronald C.

Yelp
The food was excellent, the ambience was very nice, especially while seating outside, the service was ok, but what ruined the experience was the seating outside and the staff not conforming to the current COVID suggested regulations. Our server was not initially wearing his mask and my wife had to kindly ask him to put it on, of which he obliged. They also were seating people too close. Overall not a bad dining experience, but not following COVID dropped the experience a bit!
google avatar

Yelp
BEST ITALIAN IN EVANSVILLE! I love their fettuccine Alfredo and my husband like the lasagna. You also get garlic knots and salad with meals. Very authentic.

Yelp
This is old-school Italian. We went on a Wednesday, late afternoon/early evening, and the place was (unsurprisingly) pretty empty. Our waiter was right there immediately, and he checked in often over the course of our meal. The garlic knots were fabulous and soft, and the salad was seriously one of the best salads I've ever eaten. It's simple, but the dressing was incredible. Bright and vinegar-y without being overwhelmingly acidic. I ordered the tortellini in a pesto cream sauce. It was exactly as described / expected. It came out topped with additional cheese. The whole dish was rich and filling. The hints of fresh basil in the sauce provided a sweet herby note that cut through the cheese. The photo makes it look terribly unappetizing - a combination of low overhead lighting and an excess of cheese will do that but it truly was delicious and I'd happily order it again. We split a tiramisu for dessert which was delicious, if a touch on the small side. Overall I was super happy with my experience here! I really dig the old-school Italian vibe. You know what kind of restaurant it is, and it delivers. No pretension or surprises. I'm looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! Angelo himself is the best!! My fav is the veal Marsala! I sub in Alfredo instead however and it's Devine! Some amazing rolls and toasted ravioli is the perfect cheesy spice as an app!

John M.

Yelp
I was fortunate to spend a wonderful evening at Angelo's with family and friends. I was surprised for my birthday. The downstairs area easily accommodated our large party. The staff from the owner,to his wonderful employees, were absolutely superb. The food was amazing from the appetizers, the main course to the desserts. I especially recommend the chicken Alfredo, toasted cheese ravioli and canollis. Next time you have an event, you should definitely plan it for Angelo's. The people, atmosphere, and food will make a great night that much better.
google avatar

Jeannie M.

Yelp
Highly recommend Angelo's for some of the absolute best Italian I've ever had! Everything we ate was delicious! Very friendly staff as well!

Marvin C.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent service. I enjoyed the Penne Carbonara. My wife's Chicken Parmigiana was tender and flavorful. The lasagna was delicious although the sausage may have been a little strong flavored. When mixing a bite with all the ricotta and toppings it was still good.

Patty S.

Yelp
Excellent dining experience! Food was great, presentation pleasing, and service was efficient and personal! We enjoyed catching up with friends over a delicious dinner of Chicken a la Angelo's, a veal dish, and shrimp Alfredo! We definitely weren't rushed for our table! We'll be back to one of our favorites!

Yelp
My friends & I went to Angelo's for dinner and our experience was amazing. It's New Years Eve so they were super busy, but we still managed to get our food quickly. Our server was super attentive which was nice for how large our party was. The chicken parmigiana was so yummy and their pricing is pretty average for the portion sizes. Our server also made sure that my four year old daughter was happy and went out of her way to ensure a good experience was had. I was a fan of their wine, but because of staffing they did not have a bartended; any liquor we ordered was super strong or the flavors were off. Overall I definitely think this is a place that everyone should try :)

Yelp
I must say that when walking in I was a little skeptical, the front entry did not made the best impression. Well, I was wrong ! The place is rather basic but fresh garlic rolls came out quick and plenty of them The meal includes a bowl of mixed House salat and was nice and fresh. The seafood dish was great ! Very nicely done and tasty! The service was quick and friendly and the prices are very reasonable ! All in all a very good experience ! We see you again !
google avatar

Judy M.

Yelp
My husband I went here before a concert and were rushed for time but our food was excellent. We can't wait to go back. Our food was excellent and the service was too.

Andy F.

Yelp
Average. Mediocre. Salad was swimming in dressing. Rolls (packaged) were swimming in butter and garlic splashed with pesto. Overwhelming. Tortellini Alfredo was nothing special. Overcooked pasta. Not any better than store bought. Really was hoping for better quality at super high price. The tortellini and a Diet Coke was $23.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was positively outstanding. Tonight we started with the Crab Cakes which were made fresh and served over a small bed of angel hair, everything covered in a creamy pesto. I ordered the Lasagna after deciding I wanted something traditional. It came out baked in a dish, absolutely delicious in a slightly sweet marinara sauce covered in mozzarella. Mmm. He ordered Tortillini Alla Pesto. A cheese tortillini with peas and sundried tomatoes served in a creamy pesto sauce (which seemed to be a combination of pesto and alfredo, making it very creamy and delicious). The food was outstanding, and we even got free dessert: red velvet cake. Mmm. My only real complaint is the crying baby at a near by table--this seems to be much more of an adult restaurant, lots of ambiance. Also, having to wait a good while be for being waited on. After that though, it was a very pleasant meal.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Went here for lunch, late on a Friday afternoon. Our party of three ordered toasted cheese ravioli, crab cakes and baked ziti. Salad and bread automatically came with our dishes and were served family style. Overall, each dish was delicious and service was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Natalie P.

Yelp
My family and I found this spot on accident. I was a little nervous to go in because how it looks on the outside and the inside decor outdated. Our waiter was excellent and the food was outstanding! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because whatever they use to clean the floor is oil based and slippery, I was fearful I was going to fall. I watched two others have the same probably walking through the restaurant.
google avatar

Bob W.

Yelp
Walking in provides the aroma of real Italian restaurants in Chicago. Excellent house salad that's a perfect complement for the southern Italian meal. Service was quick and efficient and the meal was excellent, as with each visit to Angelo's. A nice touch is the available dining in front on the walkway with white table cloths. Pleasant way to spend a summer evening. The only negative is the restaurant interior could use a little freshening. On the other hand, maybe that just adds to the character of this excellent Italian restaurant. We've had several repeat visits and the experience is always good. When we're still talking about the meal the next day...that's a mark of fine dining!

Kelly H.

Yelp
Wonderful food fresh, hot, service is great. Definitely a must for anyone in the Evansville area. We will be back!!!

Yelp
We live 50 miles away., My wife had errands to run in Evansville. Being disabled, she asked if I wanted something from Evansville, sine we are sick of all the Vincennes restaurants. I searched the web, and found that Angelo's served veal. We got fried cheese sticks and crab cake pesto for appetizers, and the lasagna and Veal Parmegiano for entrees. I am reviewing this after a 50 miles drive, and re-heated. The Cheese Sticks were good, the sauce decent. The crab cakes were a meal in itself, the cakes were good, could use some more crab, and less breading, the pesto sauce and pasta were very good. I was pleasantly surprised, as normally I don't eat a lot of pesto. The lasagna was very good, had lots of meat, and was well seasoned, and not drowned in sauce. I would eat it again, and not be disappointed. Now, for the Veal... I LOVE veal, if it's done correctly. No restaurant around Vincennes had Veal, so I was hoping it would be good. I took my first bite, closed my eyes, and the flavors just exploded in my mouth. The veal was done perfectly, just the right amount of sauce, loaded with cheese, and spiced to perfection. It truly was the BEST Veal Parmegiano I have ever eaten!!! The pasta was not in marinara, but was fettuccine noodles, with mushrooms and chunks of tomato, in a superb red wine sauce. I can imagine how good it would have been, had I been able to go to the restaurant. I can't wait for her to go to Evansville again, to have more of that succulent veal. It will be difficult for m to physically go there, but maybe sometime soon, I can go, and experience the food first-hand, straight from the kitchen. I'll be dreaming about the Veal for a long time. If you like veal, this IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!

Yelp
I tried this place a couple times 4-5 years ago (got the stromboli around lunch time) and remember it blowing my mind. Went back there recently and tried the stromboli again and it was pretty gross, unbelievably greasy. Definitely not anywhere near as good as I remember it, but maybe my palate is more refined than it used to be.

Matt D.

Yelp
First time back in over 18 months. Didn't disappoint. We had the excellent crab cakes and Chicken a la Crema. Highly recommended. Enough food for significant leftovers.
google avatar

Darrell S.

Yelp
My date and I went for date night. Food was magnificent, prepared perfectly, portions were great, and the ambience was just right. Service was impeccable. Will be back again soon.
google avatar

Austin T.

Yelp
Most of what we ate was good, but the chicken parmigiana tasted like one of those sterno burners you use to keep food warm. Rather than a smoky flavor it tasted a little like...gas is the best way to describe it. The garlic rolls were awesome. The salad was great. The spinach ravioli was good. Chicken parm and veal were both soggy and greasy.

Yelp
I first went to Angelo's in a large group of about 15-20 girls for a birthday party. The staff was incredible. Our waiter was outstanding. He was friendly and just on top of his game. The food is amazing. It's authentic Italian in southern Indiana. I've had the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and the Lasagna. Everything was AWESOME. The marsala sauce...perfect. The cordon bleu sauce...perfect. I'm not even a lasagna fan and that was amazing. Free, HUGE tossed salad with an oil based dressing and rolls with a spicy, pesto butter. I LOVE free treats before my meal. I went to college in Evansville and I would always take visitors here for a nice dinner. Authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. Angelo's is a must try and in my opinion, a must LOVE.
google avatar

Gregory S.

Yelp
First impression was that the hostess was short and rude. They had 7 open booths, but they would not let us sit in any of them since we did not have reservations even though they were not reserved and had none coming for quite some time. Our party of four large people sat at a small table with poor lighting. I personally will eat elsewhere.
google avatar

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
I had a very mixed experience while at Angelo's. The staff was phenomenal. They were so kind and accommodating to my son's food allergy, and just friendly and attentive overall. If I could rate them solely on service, they would get a 5, but it's hard to overlook the food and decor. Angelo's poses as a "fine dining" dining restaurant, but they simply are not. The food is extremely bland and almost every dish is swimming in cheese. The decor is lacking. The salad is overloaded with onions and they use Good Seasons salad dressing...not my idea of fine dining. Honestly, I feel bad giving them a low rating because they are so nice, but the food is pretty awful.
google avatar

Jospeh S.

Yelp
Dear Angelo's I love your food. You are my favorite restaurant!. This is written by my 7 year old daughter. The food is always great.
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Angelo's, in my opinion, is the best Italian in Evansville. The portions are always generous, and the service is generally pretty good. For wifey's Birthday, we were back in Evansville, and made a reservations for (9) of us on the day after Thanksgiving. Fortunately, Angelo's accommodated us, even though we called the day of. Our table ordered the following: Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccine Alfredo, Lasagna, and three of us ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, which is amazing. In fact, Angelo's has the best Chicken Cordon Bleu of any Italian restaurant I have dined at. Two servers handled our large party, and wifey even got a Birthday Cheesecake (which was amazing) on the house. Top notch! I will return again when in Eville!

Benjamin G.

Yelp
Ammmaaaaazzziiiinng food! Ducked in here on a rainy afternoon to a pleasant warm Tuscan atmosphere. The waiters were very professional. They have mouth watering Pasta Carbonarra and Fried Raviolli!
google avatar

Bryan H.

Yelp
We went for lunch and I was impressed. I had a pasta combo that included two kinds of pasta, a salad, and their wonderful garlic rolls for about $6 total. What a great deal! The service was just standing in line to get our food so no comment there other than the workers were friendly. The atmosphere was standard as well. I can't comment on dinner, but it's a great place for lunch in Evansville.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Kind of disappointed. 3 tables in the place and it was loud. Big serving warm. Little flavor. Meatballs seemed like crock pot meatballs. Bummer. Wine list needs to be stepped up. Disappointed
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I have frequented Angelo's for 13 years now and can honestly say that I will never tire of this wonderful little place. From the very friendly service, to the warm colors of the restaurant, Angelo's is definitely my favorite place to eat Italian food. Everything I have ever eaten there is delicious! The lasagna and Penne Carbonara are my two favorites. They offer a nice menu, with plenty to choose from for meat lovers as well as vegetarians. Their salad is always fresh and tasty and their garlic rolls are to die for! Far better than breadsticks you might get at any other Italian chains. They also have a nice wine selection and wonderful desserts such as fresh cannolis and home made Tiramisu. Very nice atmosphere as well. Oh and lunch is great too and very affordable. At lunch, they have more of a cafeteria style thing going on, where you order from a selection of food they have at the counter, from pizza to pasta, complete with salad and rolls. You can buy a whole lunch with a soda for around $6.00 and everything on their lunch menu is incredible too. Buy local. You won't be sorry!

Yelp
I gotta say.... a bit disappointed. Our server, Jennifer.... not good. Slow. Only checked on us once. Appears to be a "bit off" to say the least. Food was not good at all. Super super bland. My spouse had the spaghetti with meatballs. Ragu sauce from Walmart had better flavor. I had Shrimp Alfredo. Bland bland bland. Soo not worthy. Really wanted to shout "Now Thatz A Spicy Meatball!" But sadly enough, flavorless. Not sure we will be making a repeat visit. Italian mob needs to pay a visit or at least an appearance by Chef Ramsey. Sorry Angelo's.
