"Planning casual date nights is hard. You want a spot that’s quiet, but not so quiet that the entire place will overhear the full timeline of your goldendoodle’s distressing trip to the vet last week. Sexy low mood lighting, drinks, and a bill under $75 should be in the mix. And since you’re reading this and therefore have great taste, you’ll need fantastic food, too. But not all restaurants will do the trick. Enter Angie’s Pizza, the Mission spot we always count on for non-stressful date nights. It’s walk-ins only, so it works for spontaneous, same-day meet-ups with a situationship. And the retro space is effortlessly charming, like Florence Pugh or that work crush you’ve been silently obsessing over for years. The space looks like a ‘70s basement, with a vinyl collection and mushroom lamps, wood paneling, and funky geometric tiles lining the bar. Plus, the thin-crust pizzas coming out of the glowing wood-fired oven are excellent. photo credit: Melissa Zink photo credit: Melissa Zink The menu is just a few seasonally changing appetizers like a lemony mixed green salad and roast carrots, six pizzas, and a couple of ice cream sundaes for dessert. Start with the meatballs—they’re fall-apart tender, drenched in a bubbling, thick vodka sauce, and topped with shaved parmesan. Then turn to the pies, which are the belles of the figurative ball. Some toppings, like sausage or crisped-up pepperoni cups atop light swaths of tomato sauce, are pretty classic and always hit the spot. But the white pizzas shine the most—you’ll see more interesting Californian combinations like brussels sprouts and pecans, or dates, bacon, and dollops of creamy goat cheese. When the poached apple-topped ice cream hits the table (save room for this), you’ll already have made plans for another dimly lit rendezvous next week. For all this talk about pizza and ice cream dates, it’s worth noting that you should also keep Angie’s handy for group catch-ups or any time you need to overanalyze a recent awkward interaction with that work crush, alone, over some French or Italian wine at the bar. It's a fabulous place to spend any kind of night, full stop. But exchanging flirty banter over meatballs with someone cute is the way to use this spot. Food Rundown photo credit: Melissa Zink Pork And Beef Meatballs A standout starter. The vodka sauce is so thick you can scoop it up with a fork, and the meatballs deserve some sort of meatball prize. Order these or prepare for regret. photo credit: Melissa Zink Pepperoni Pizza Love pepperoni? You’ll love this. It’s a notch above your average pepperoni pie from the sticky garlic chili honey drizzled on top. Our only complaint is that the cheese and sauce tends to slide off when you lift up a slice, so go the fold-and-eat route on this one. photo credit: Melissa Zink Date Pizza This pizza is a creamy stunner thanks to globs of goat cheese on each slice. And bacon and dates get a sweet-and-salty thing going. As one of the more unique topping combinations on the menu, it deserves your attention. photo credit: Melissa Zink Potato Pizza Anyone who uses “favorite form of potato?” as their go-to icebreaker question and also has a zoomed-in photo of french fries as their lock screen, this pie is for you. The potato slices are thinly sliced and creamy, and work nicely alongside garlic cream and a sprinkle of rosemary." - Julia Chen

Best pizza ever, the sausage is legit. Also their calzones are massive and the dough is always made fresh. Just remember to bring cash, not credit.

We've ordered several times and pizza is always great! He really loads the toppings on! Everything else on the menu is good too! We've had the pasta and sandwiches and the wings. You can't go wrong here.

If you’ve never ordered from here Do not let the owner on the phone throw you off. He’s just short and to the point on the phone. In person he’s a really cool guy and makes really good pizza! Him and his wife started their pizza shop 46 years ago. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Give it a try!

Best pizza around, great crust and sauce, no delivery willing to pick up!

Google
Best pizza in area hands down. I have tried them all from Cleveland to Ravenna. None in this area compare to the quality and taste. Cash only though

Google
Best pizza around! Just moved around the corner from this hidden gem and I'm impressed! This is REAL good pizza! The sausage, pepperoni & mushroom is our favorite! Cash only, limited menu but everything on it sounds delicious. Will continue to patronize this fine establishment!

Google
Pizza was so so. Sauce is a little too sweet but the crust is delicious. Very very few toppings for a $20 1 topping lg 12 cut pizza, about 2-3pcs of pepperoni per slice with each piece strategically placed. The wings were on the pricey side as well for what you get but did taste good. No online menu and there were no to go menus available upon order pick up. I'll definatly give them another chance and try the other items they offer but as far as the pizza goes I'll be going elsewhere.

Love the traditional red but the white is exceptional! Always looks like a masterpiece and tastes even better. Best crust and best toppings! Kudos!

Yelp
Angie's pizza - what a rip off! $62 for a large pizza and 2 salads. Pizza mediocre, salad dressing was disgusting. What a shame. This place is gross and should be ashamed to charge these ridiculous prices. Vey disappointed.

Yelp
I don't know about the other reviews. The place has been remodeled since I've been there and the owners have always been nice. They've made it into an upscale restaurant. The food is good and overpriced but what isn't these days? All we've ever gotten is the pizza and we like their crust so we go back!

Yelp
Angie's Pizza is excellent, and the Owner Pete does a very nice job and is extremely friendly. Give it a try, and you will be surprised.

Yelp
My family wanted to try Angie's pizza so I ordered 2 8 slice pies, one with 2 toppings and one with 4. My bill was $40.00. I'm not sure what is up with this place, I actually thought it was closed. Lights very dim, place was filthy...whole experience was somewhat creepy. When I entered there was a gentleman (the owner) sitting in the closed dining room section. He was the only one there and didn't seem very interested in making pizza. My family stated that the pizza was fair but I just can't get over the dirt. I feel bad writing this review but there are a lot of pizza places nearby. Pass on this one.

Yelp
The food isn't very good and the place is creepy on the inside. I'm not sure what happened here but I'd go elsewhere.

Yelp
This place has the best pizza it reminds me of my childhood. Best crust, best sauce just amazing! They also have amazing fried dough! Only place I can get it now. The burgers are also amazing! Pretty much all their food is amazing! Old school pizza worth every penny!

Gregory D.

Yelp
The pizza is really not very good. Little business. Not sure what happened here. Dining in is not really an option anymore but at some point it looks like it was set up to be. Just another symptom of living in the country. Crust tastes frozen. Ingredients are generally not high quality. Especially relative to other local players.

Yelp
We just got two medium pizzas from Pete at Angie's last night. Extremely fresh ingredients and some of the best sausage and green peppers I have had on a pizza in a long time. Crust is cooked just right and cheese is smooth without being burned. Tomato sauce blends just right. My wife had onions, mushrooms and pepperoni. Wow was hers great. It had been to long since we had one of Pete's pizzas. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Delicious pizza, friendly people and quaint atmosphere!!! So glad we chose to eat here instead of a chain.

Yelp
This was hands down the best pizza I have had all year, and I eat a lot of pizza, along with being a bit of a foodie judgement wise. The sauce had a hint of sweetness to it, and could tell it was freshly made, and the crust was perfect. The owner was super friendly. From the outside, and maybe first glance at inside maybe you would think it wouldn't be good, but go outside of your box. Will definitely be my go to for nearby.

Yelp
Love this place. It's a family owned restaurant and they could not be any sweeter. The food is fantastic too. Will definitely be back here soon. Beats all the chain pizza joints.

Michael J.

Yelp
Love the new look, menu and slightly upscale makeover. Great food reasonably priced. Locally owned, not a chain, nice young man trying to make a go of it. Stop by you won't be disappointed.
