Angry Buffalo @ The Rose Garden

Stopped in on a recent trip to the Buffalo area for lunch. Very cool menu with things you don’t normally find. I had the smoked bologna sandwich with home made chips. It was awesome. My friend had the Fire Chicken sandwich. The beer was cold and the locals were welcoming. Next time I’m in the area I’m stopping back.

This is an old school gem. It may well be the friendliest tavern in WNY. We stopped in for our first time. The menu is quite extensive and each day loaded up with specials. We had the massive nacho plate piled high with unique “ chips” very tasty and filling. Then ordered the wings also large and filling done just right. We were thinking of something else but were way too full. The people at the bar welcomed us as we walked in - amazingly sincere it was. The bartender Trish personable and attentive was fun to be with. The music nice throwback style - not too old and no way too new. Just in case there’s a jukebox. It is the longest bar I have ever seen and it’s inside just evokes a warm and friendly no frills trip back in time. This was thoroughly enjoyable. A menu full of can’t miss delicious food- served with a smile and banter. Even better for the Bills game. This IS Cheers!

The food was amazing. We loved the soup flight and Brisket sandwich. If was a perfect winter lunch. The bartender was also friendly and attentive. The salad was just ok. Overall we will be back.

This place may not look like much from the outside but this may be the hidden treasure in Buffalo. We ordered the fish fry and Beef on Weck. Both are Buffalo standards. They did them both justice. Our server Sarah took good care of us. The drinks were cold and the food was delicious. Bonus for having live music! Lots of parking.

Had the Dirty Bird chicken sandwich. It was very crispy and tasty. The spicy pickles served with the sandwich tasted homemade and complimented the sandwich perfectly. I upgraded to sweet potato fries, and they were the best I've had. The waitress/barmaid was awesome.

Had lunch on 8-16-25. Ordered brisket and pulled pork sandwichs plate. It was the worst I have ever had. Brisket sandwich didn't even have a full slice of meat on it and was dry, it was maybe 1 or 2 ounces of meat. The pulled pork was the same with the exception that it was warmed up to the point that it was crispy. Had to order extra BBQ just to eat it. was to hungry and pressed for time to send it back. My wife's food was good, hard to believe that it came out of the same kitchen.

Great food, service was great. "Dive bar" feel without actually being a dive bar, but certainly not pretentious.

The Tequila jalapeño burger was awesome. Very flavorful and savory. Lots of flavor but not a ton of heat which was perfect

Had my in-laws 60th Wedding Anniversay here. Both the staff and the food were amazing!

We drive by Angry Buffalo on occasion and always wondered what their post was like. Monday we decided to stop and had a terrific burger and daily special which was a pasta with the biggest shrimp I've ever seen And it was delicious! Price? A price that reasonable for both. We sat at the bar and the bartender was personable, efficient and courteous.

I haven't been here since Covid so coming back here for a work happy hour was nice. We called the day ahead to let them know the size of our group and when we arrived to sit out back, tables were already out together for us! The back is surprisingly delightful as you would never guess from driving by it on a busy road. There is also lots of parking! We ordered tons of different appetizers and had great waitresses. The food came out so fast and was delicious! I was at one end of the table so didn't get a chance to take pictures of everything. The pretzel sticks are amazingly good as are the dry rub wings. Really friendly and accommodating staff. Will be back again sooner than later for sure!

Let's begin with walking in. This is your typical dive bar. Five or six regulars at the bar hanging out shooting the breeze with the bar tender. No dinner patrons in the restaurant at all. The bartender greeted very warmly upon walking in and said we can seat ourselves and a server would be over. The server was clearly very, very new and was probably on his own for the first time tonight. That said he was very friendly and seemed like a genuinely nice kid. When we looked at the menu we were surprised to see that many of the items were scribbled out, which is bush league for a restaurant. We started with pretzel sticks which were ok, nothing special when compared to other places. They were however soaked in butter but the chorizo cheese sauce was pretty good. I was super excited to try the Big Blue & Bacon Jam burger and boy was I disappointed! Probably one of the worst burgers I've ever had to the point that I only ate 1/2 and had to force myself to eat the other 1/2 of it. It was not regular beef, best I can figure it was chorizo which overpowered the bacon jam and the blue cheese. My wife's chicken fingers were very small by restaurant standards and nothing special, she also did not finish them. The fries that came with them were fresh cut and were very good tho. My son got a battered fish fry which he said was ok but not something he would ever go back for. Their beer selection was decent, nothing great. The only reason we went was because we had a $10 off coupon and in hindsight I wouldn't go back to eat if I had $50 off! UPDATE: later that night felt sick to my stomach and had abdominal cramps. Next day same thing. One star now!

Popped in to try their burger and have a couple drinks. They had a soup flight and it was excellent. Split Pea, Cheeseburger, and a slightly spicy vegitable. All were flavorful and well made, and the presentation is not what you'd expect from the looks, which are often very decieving. I then had their Blue burger. The bacon jam and blue cheese created this salty sweet symphonay to go with a, in house formed burger cooked perfectly. The food was outstanding, the drinks were also very good, and who doesn't like a nice pint of Guniess. Played a game of darts to round out the stop. Going to be doing their wednesday cornhole this year I think. 100% will return for another great burger and more soup.

Delicious food and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Excellent fish fry. We will be back!

I pass by this bar a few times a week but never stopped by. It's a nice little bar with a large outdoor space. We only had a cocktail, so I'm not sure how the food is. The clientele was definitely in their 60s and up, but it may be due to the classic rock cover band that was playing. Seemed to be a lot of "regulars" as well.

This is a review for the back room, special event only. First, the staff was attentive, professional, hard working and kind. We entered in the back of the building from the copious parking lot. We passed some open door with supplies I didn't want to see, and into a room which was like being in someone's finished basement. I think with a bit of elbow grease, it could be brought up to par with what the rest of the place is like. I got a glimpse of the restaurant/bar area en route to the restroom. The bathroom was very clean and tidy. The back room could do with a makeover: fresh paint, flooring, clean up the space heater (cringe, looked like something spilled on it), and scrub that bar and refinish. There is a step into the very back of the room that seems like an accident waiting to happen. If one is seated at the last bar chair, it's a good possibility an ankle might be twisted hopping down. The faux plants need a good hosing off too. There is potential here! The most important asset are the Angry Buffalo people and they are stellar. For the celebration we were in attendance for, it was nice to mingle. The food items were properly hot or cold and nicely presented. The bar workers were attentive, cheerful and keeping water, pop, etc. pitchers full as needed. Would like to return sometime to the restaurant/bar area for another take.

I was there with a work group I had the stuffed banana pepper dip - it was served with chewy but sturdy pita triangles - the dip was rich & spicy and the pita was the perfect delivery vehicle to my mouth :) others had the calamari they commented that it was very lightly battered and most importantly NOT chewy! The cheese sticks disappeared without comment lol. For the main course I had the Greek salad with chicken - it was fresh & delicious- the chicken was marinated with Greek seasoning was tender & delicious - bonus points for not skimping on the feta! Both the baked & the battered fish frys that others ordered looked ample & delicious there were plenty of choices for sides. One of our members commented that the potato salad was too mayonnaisey but it looked good to me and I would definitely order it just to see for myself :) The beef on weck was eaten in its entirety without comment or crumb left on the plate. The service was awesome this is a smallish place and has a homey feel our server had a great sense of humor and splitting the drink tabs (work function) was orderly and not a problem for them. There was also another team building going on - they were having a good time as well and took their photo in front of the angry buffalo :) There was a diverse inclusive mix of people there which was very nice to see in this part of town. I know this is long but I can't not mention the outdoor space - it's wonderful it's covered and has lots of games like cornhole to play! I will go back when it's not raining :)

We sat on the patio while listening to Kickstart Rumble play. We enjoyed the fish fry and burger that we ordered. The chips served with the burger were crispy and tasty. The beer was cold and served in plastic cups.

We have been here a handful of times. I waited to review so I could see if it was consistently good. It was/is! We have tried many different menu items and we have never been disappointed. The homemade pickles are so yummy. I have never had a pickle like it! The service was great, we had a newer server and she was on top of everything. If you want a casual bar/restaurant with fast service, I would highly recommend!

Had the jalapeno Burger which was good. But hard to enjoy when theres flies buzzing around you

It was getting late in Williamsville and some family and I wanted to go somewhere and have a good meal without having to get too dressed up as we just wrapped up a running club. Thank goodness for the Angry Buffalo! The last time I stopped in, it was a LATE dinner, like 8:30pm, on a Wednesday, with a few family. There was plenty of parking in their lot in the back and I saw plenty of tables and another bar outside, although we preferred to eat inside. Inside is dark, but cozy, with plenty of booths, tables, and a sizable bar in the middle and TVs placed strategically throughout. I really do enjoy the local hometown feeling here as everyone sitting at the bar seemed to know each other and were having a great time. Our waitress was very courteous and friendly and did her best to manage our table as well as a few tables outside (lots of walking for her!) as she was the only waitress on duty. For dinner, I ordered their Bleu Cheese and Bacon Jam Burger (cooked medium) with a side of sweet potato fries, which is a slight upcharge. The burgers here are pretty big, for sure bigger than what you'll get at ABV (which I still love :) ). The bleu cheese and bacon jam were delicious and the Applewood bacon strips only added to that flavor combo. The garlic aioli was creamy and didn't come off too strong. The burger itself was cooked perfectly with the right amount of pink in the center but was very tender, almost like it was hand-formed. Compared to the last time I came in 2019, I thought the burger was much tastier this time! The sweet potato fries were hot and the right amount of crispy, but I really enjoyed the side of NYS maple syrup - It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! The prices were pretty reasonable too for the quality and quantity served up - a little bit of an increase (thanks to 2020...) but nothing crazy. Overall, I really enjoy going to the Angry Buffalo for a burger! The service could be a little quicker and they did have to downsize their menu a little, but in 2021, when it's hard for restaurants to find workers, I'm more understanding. But I'm already looking forward to the next time I can come for my burger and beer!

Very disappointing. We have been going to Angry Buffalo for many years because they had the best burger in the area and the service was great. The last time we dined in, the burger was inedible. It tasted like a tough sausage - nothing like the delicious, juicy, classic burger they used to serve. This time I decided to order online for pickup. Like many restaurant online ordering systems, they offer options to customize your order, i.e. sauce on the side, or no cheese, etc. Be aware that they pay no attention to those requests. After scraping off the items that I asked to be served on the side, I bit into the burger and it was the same type of inedible burger that I had when I was last in the restaurant accompanied by a small amount of fries, which were good, but at $3.99 extra there should have been more. I ate the fries but threw out the burger. For a total of $23.00 (including a 20% tip because I think it's important to support our local restaurants, even if ordering take-out), it was an expensive and disappointing dinner. It makes me sad to say this, but we will not be returning. I probably should have given one star, but after many fun times and good food here, nostalgia won out.

Food here is amazing. Got takeout several times and everything has been great. The stuffed peppers are top notch. Maybe the best blue cheese I have ever had. Make sure you get it. Great specials. Can't wait to come here when everything is back open for sit in.

I have to say I have been here many many times over the years. It's always been a regular neighborhood kind of place that used to specialize in German food. We even had my brothers stag party here 25 years ago! Anyway, the people who own it now have really stepped it up. The place is entirely different if you haven't been here in 10 years. We sat outside on the patio under a tent. The whole wait staff was super friendly. How refreshing to get excellent service and a genuine smile from more than just one server. Since it was a Friday, most everyone had the fish fry. Pretty standard with french fries coleslaw and macaroni salad. Everyone said it was excellent. Two of us had a baked fish in different preparation which was also very nice. I had a standard salad which was tasty and opted for the Ahi tuna as an add-on. I'm always a little leery ordering what is generally perceived as a high end item in a local regular restaurant. The tuna was perfectly cooked. Still nice and rare on the inside with a nice crust on the outside. There's a nice selection of craft beers if that's your thing. Everything was nice and I can't wait to return to the patio and take in a band.

Outdoor patio is a great place to eat. Had 3 items that were definitely worth getting again! Two appetizers - the Fried Pickles and Onion rings were by FAR the BEST I've ever had. Both were large portions and done to perfection - not to greasy and lots of flavor. The chicken club sandwich was also AMAZING. I know your thinking just a chicken sandwich - not this one. Chicken was moist and flavorful, the bread probably made the sandwich and then the bacon and dressing all made this sandwich the ONE to get!

Amazing place, awesome food, and amazing people!! If you want to feel like a "regular" this is the place!! Instant family!! Sidney and Jenny are the best!! See you next Thursday!!

Very good chicken wings, the sauces are very tasty. Soup of the day was served hot and delicious. The turkey sandwich was the real deal!!! Fresh turkey, no deli meat here.

Been there a couple times, not impressed, food average to poor,service, same, I had to find a server to take my order, the impression that I received was that I was interrupting social hour, the air conditioning wasn't working,,the bartender instead of trying to serve me was trying to get me to look at the air conditioning unit, like I was a repair guy, after a second visit, I don't expect to return for a third, their having serious growing pains, in all the wrong places, sorry don't be so angry buffalo

Subpar fingers. Very dry and crispy, so definitely over cooked a bit. Fries were delicious. Service wasn't fantastic, took 10 minutes to get water and never got a refill on it either. Price isn't bad though and it is a cool place to hang out.

Five of us had a really nice lunch here yesterday. Burgers and salads got rave reviews. My grilled cheese on sourdough was good, but my preferred bread for grilled cheese is rye, which they don't have. Not a big deal. Good french fries. There's no separation between the bar and dining areas, so that might be an issue when it's busy.

What I want to know is, why is the Buffalo angry at the Rose Garden? What did the Rose Garden ever do to the Buffalo? Can't they make amends? Surely peace is the way forward in this situation? Idk. I have been here about 10 times after soccer games at my fave soccer center, Epic. One of the bartenders is really friendly, one is not. But regardless of who the bartender is, I always get charged unfortunate amounts for my Coke. Which is funny because most places realize that I am the designated driver of my drinking buddies, etc... and give it to me free or for $1 or something. Or at least provide refills... also the coke isn't great. But then is it ever? They have a lot of live music here and plenty of cute people come in here too, usually an older crowd and a soccer crowd. I recommend it to anyone, but it also doesn't blow me away. I've never tried the food.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, in fact it screams "do not come in here" but the food is surprisingly good. The burgers are good and their sliced turkey BLT is awesome. I wish they fix up the inside a little. The tables and booths need an overhaul. Seems like they might be doing some remodeling inside which will help!

Nice location but they are not great with special orders. If you order a burger without cheese and they accidentally put it on they scrape it off vs grill you a new burger and think your won't notice Service was slow (not friendly) and we would have drank a lot more had we been asked if we would like a drink

First time here and enjoyed it very much. Both the waiter and waitress were very friendly and had a great sense of humor. They were super attentive to our party (10 people) and continuously had our drinks refilled before we could even ask. Portion size was perfect. I had the hamburger - which was cooked exactly how I ordered it. Their Italian wedding soup was SOOOO GOOD!

Definitely a dive, dark inside, but good selection of beer, friendly management and staff and best burger in town (yes it's on par with Grovers, maybe not quite as big)- burgers also 1/2 price on Mondays but you have to eat in to get the discount. Also great fish fry on Friday, fingers, wings and flatbread pizza all good as well. It gets busy sometimes and the service really gets overwhelmed. Solid place overall!

Food is always delicious and perfectly cooked. Portions are large and the staff is very friendly. Good selection of beer and drinks. Everyone is made to feel like a regular.

I don't like giving bad reviews BUT I wish I had known before I went here. Only 3 tables of customers (seniors, not that there's anything wrong with that, and that's almost me anyway) for Friday lunchtime? It's dark and dank. Lousy radio station for background noise. The bathrooms are 50's vintage poor. Enough of the decor, now the food. The food was mediocre to poor (sorry). The seafood bisque was OK. My fish sandwich was good but had a few bones. If you still go here don't get the 'homemade' chips (Oily and rubbery), try the fries, maybe they're better. The 'flat-bread' sandwiches aren't what you might expect. Not the traditional flat, thin, flat bread style of middle east origin. It was flat white bread slices more similar to panini style. The bread was so wet and gooey it couldn't be picked up without a mess. It was better eaten with a knife and fork. Again, sorry guys, but I won't go here again. Hope you can get it together and stay open.

Foods just okay. The place is extremely dark and dreary, the bathrooms need an update. Tried ordering 40 wings on a thursday... they were out of wings??let alone on a Thursday night?? The drinks are very overpriced for a whole in the wall...$5.50 for a bottle ofCorona ,$7 for a well vodka and water?? Def dont recommend coming here . They def need to spruce up the inside and their menu. And change there drink prices.

Great Food and great lemonade! The burgers are the best burgers in buffalo come to the Angry Buffalo.

Delicious burgers and the turkey sandwich was one of the best I've had. Suggestions to make it a better experience include having a coat rack, better wine selection, and vegetarian options - a portabella mushroom burger would be a great addition to the menu.

Ok the review would be higher, the service was great, loved the burger ...bacon jam??? yum!! however, we elected to eat on the patio, nobody there at 5 ish on a Saturday, we were still eating, bar patrons came (out door bar on patio) and they were SMOKING at the bar!!! 4 feet away from us!! While we were eating! Isn't that illegal???

This place is seriously underrated. Went in for lunch and got a GIANT ahi tuna sandwich topped with avocado,romaine lettuce, and a wonderful wasabi aoli. Sided with homemade potato chips which were perfectly crispy and we ordered deep fried pickles(which were full GIANT spears) with the most amazing dipping sauce. They have an awesome draft beer selection and specials all the time on food and drinks. So glad I finally decided to eat here!

Excellent place to throw a party! Hosted my husband's 40th here. The facility is both unique and private with plenty of parking for guests. That alone sold me on booking! The private patio is a total bonus if planning in the warmer months! I can't say enough about the accommodating staff! From booking to setup, bar-tending / serving & tear down.... EVERYONE went above and beyond for our group! We had the most dedicated & attentive service. I had never before eaten here (big risk) but The food was good, and the appetizers were a total hit!

People have seriously underrating this place. I've been a handful of times and I've never been disappointed. Their burgers are fantastic, especially the pb&j bacon burger. The food takes a little while, but it's well worth the wait not to get a frozen unseasoned patty thrown on a bun.

Summary: Great burger and service, but overall missed the mark. An acoustic duo was playing here that I've been wanting to catch and i heard it was family friendly so I thought i'd be able to finally bring the kids and hear them play. Unfortunately, the door was closed between the dining space and the bar due to the noise and music, which turned out to be ironic as one of the parties was a group of well over 10 that took up the back wall and made enough noise that you would have though there was a frat party in the dining room (I could still hear that woman's drunken cackle resonating in my head as i tried to fall asleep that night). I ordered the tequila burger and loved it. Thick, juicy and jalapenos that actually should have more zip, but was still flavorful. Other party member ordered the fish fry and fish tacos. All their meals were fine. If anything you could sense the effort - sides of cole slaw and pasta salad appeared to be home made, which was a pleasant surprise...and far exceeded my expectations, especially in light of the other negative review. I say missed the mark because in spite of the effort, i thought both tasted bland, as if someone followed the recipe when preparing them but didn't actually taste them before serving. We also tried the "handmade" onion rings, which could have been great if there had been a sauce or some type of dip to accompany them. Same for the fish taco - it was essentially a generous portion of fish fry with the aforementioned cole slaw in a shell. It was fine, but a more flavorful slaw or some type of cilantro/lime sauce could have lifted it from acceptable to memorable. Also, our waiter was young guy who was exceptionally pleasant. Bar was very busy at 7 pm on a Friday, but did have a dark, gloomy vibe as the first reviewer described. In a nutshell - I live in the city and didn't have anything that was memorable enough to get me to drive 20 minutes to 1/2 an hour past numerous restaurants i love, but if i were a Clarence resident, this would probably be my fish fry and burger destination. And regardless, I felt compelled to write a review as for this place to have only one review with one star seemed an injustice to me...it might not be the talk the town, but one star means avoid at all costs and that didn't match my experience at all. Especially if you happen to be on Transit Rd with some clown suggesting one of the dozens of mediocre chains that litter route 78. Trump them get them over here for a burger instead.

I love this place. We've been here several times this summer when we're in the mood for casual outdoor dining that's a god cut above typical bar food. All the sandwiches & salads are made fresh and with care, and there's a good selection of craft beers. Everything we've had here is delicious The best part for me, though, is that the outdoor patio is a great place to bring our dog. Highly recommended.

I have been to the Ross garden several times - and every experience is similar. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but they really earned it over and over. Service is continually painfully slow - tonight there were a couple tables - not overly busy but steady. 3 people ordered food, the other 3 with us were just having a couple beers. Food took 45 mins and came out over a 15 min stretch of time - when we finally all had our food - it was cold. No one was ever offered a second drink, or came back to check on anything.

Came to see a friend play. My second Jameson and coke was a jack and coke. They have frozen seasoned fries covered in MSG that taste like cheap Chinese food. I ordered a BLT that had a disgusting amount of mayo and made me sick for a day. I gave it a chance after reopening. They had maybe 30 people eating and were taking plates out one at a time.

I had not been here in five plus years and now I remember why. This is definitely not the place for a person who does not eat beef, pork or chicken, they don't even have a fish sandwich, really in Buffalo?. . A group of ten of us went there after tennis because the guys like the $6 burgers, yes tennis players are cheep. You can get a salad and then put Ahi tuna on it and very pricey and that really is the only item I found that was a possibility. I did not even have a beer as they were out of the special or could not get the tap t work, I left and will not return again.

Good Food, Good Service Everything we had was very good, My burger was excellent, others had the grilled Buffalo chicken sandwich, and the fried version, and the Buffalo Chicken salad, all very good. The wait after ordering was somewhat lengthy, but not too bad. I will go back!

This place is on the way home form work so it is definitely frequented by my coworkers and myself on Fridays. The service can sometimes be hit or miss but lately has been spot on. The beer selection is fair, 8 taps or so of a mixture of local and non local craft beers as well as stalwarts like PBR and Warsteiner. The food is above and beyond what you would expect. Everything is good. When people come from out of town and want wings I bring them here for two reasons, 1) we don't have to wait 45 minutes for our wings and or beers and 2) their wings are good. They've also put a new patio in that is kinda cool, haven't been out there a whole bunch. I'd rate it higher but the service in the aost was hit or miss but overall this place is definitely worth checking out.

Good local bar with great burgers, usually the wings are great but my last time I was there for a Tuesday 70cent wing night was disappointing. They were half the size they usually were, cold, and they hardly put any sauce on them. I'm hoping its a one off night as I still will go there for wings as they usually are excellent. Ive been coming here for years and most of the bar staff are attentive and friendly, unfortunately there is one who I wont name her outright(older blonde) who over time consistently just provides very subpar service and I just don't find her friendly whatsoever. Constantly complains about doing the most tasks and a lot of eye rolls clearly is miserable. I don't need an overly friendly bartender but a smile and no complaining goes a long way. Recently was in there celebrating a friends birthday with about 10-12 people throughout the night and constantly had to run over to other end of the bar to get her for more drinks as she was not attending to our large party. We told her we were there for a bday and she didn't even acknowledge us(or say happy birthday)- shed just leave and was never there and we were waiting 10-15 min to get a drink. Eventually we just left and went across the street to the dome and continued our party there, we were there to spend a lot of money celebrating and would have stayed if it weren't for her poor service and attitude. If this was a one off night I wouldn't post a review like this but as ive mentioned this isn't a one off night where shes concerned its the norm.

Food is to die for. The staff is super friendly and the remodeled interior is awesome! Can't wait for this Summer's outdoor music venues and fun. We LOVE this place!!!

The Angry Buffalo at the Rose Garden is at first a very confusing name but once you get past the 10 syllables it is quite a nice location. From the front it looks like someones house converted into a restaurant but once inside you see it is quite large and a has a huge newly reconstructed bar. The bar seating is unforgivably painful, large metal backless stools that punish your ass after a few minutes of sitting. But the young male bartenders are polite and engaging. I see they have a happy hour 2-6pm? Which is disappointing because no one who works a real job can ever come here for drink discounts. The food is pretty darn good a cut above your typical bowry bar. The tequila jalapeno burger literally made my eyes water which I loved and the stuffed banana peppers were also delicious and spicy. The back of the restaurant is like 3 foot ball fields volley ball courts and other random sport stuff which is pretty cool looks like a great place for ultimate frisbee and drinks with friends. I wish I could I review this restaurant higher but there are a few things lacking. 1. The inside is dark and dreary nothing on the walls makes it seem kind of bland. 2. No real drink specials. 3.
