Anis Cafe & Bistro - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Anis, located in a house on a Buckhead side street, is the best place to get wine drunk outdoors while eavesdropping on old ladies discussing the new hairdresser at the pet spa. The patio, with a charming but somewhat haphazard collection of potted plants and tools, is what we imagine our garden would look like if we lost our jobs, moved to Provence, and drank champagne outside all day. Get the mussels or the croque monsieur for lunch and add a bottle of wine before canceling the rest of your meetings for the afternoon. photo credit: Go Daddy Social" - Neal Cohen

Overall a good experience celebrating a birthday. Great ambiance and nice environment. The mussels were great. But our mains were both quite overcooked. The duck confit was very crispy but with a little bit of bitter burnt tastes. Edit: We were initially charged for a birthday dessert, which we didn't order. Didn't want to make a scene and ruin the night, but I did left a review. Turned out it was supposed to be complementary but just an oversight on the check. The owner/manager actually called me to apologize and refunded the dessert (sorry I missed your calls!). It's honestly not much money, but they made such a good gesture and I really appreciate it. The dessert sampler itself was very nice, rich chocolate and not overly sweet, with the sherbet nicely cutting through the richness.

Stopped in on Bastille Day! Lively, welcoming, charming atmosphere. Very engaging bartender who was knowledgeable about the nearly dozen white wines by the glass. Enjoy 😍

Where to begin with this place! It’s cozy and French themed all throughout the restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend the mussels and fresh baked bread! You’ll fall in love with the great employees and a nice drink made from the lovely barkeeper.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight at Cafe Anis with service being exceptional. Appetizers of mussels, escargot, bread basket and carpaccio were all incredible. We had the vegetarian tortelonni, and braised lamb shank. Both entrees were a dream. 2021 Cotes Du Rhone bottle was delicious- we brought the remainder of bottle home to enjoy a night cap. Thank you for a fun night!

The owner is a good decent kind man. His manager is smart fair responsive and gorgeous. And Dali is an amazing person as is Byron ... Both on staff .

The food was delicious, and portions were perfect. Our server was a bit slow but was pleasant, and we weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a problem. Prices seem to have risen a couple dollars this year, but cost is still reasonable. The patio is a lively scene, while the dining room is more peaceful. The bar is cozy and intimate.

Google
Anis is an ever popular neighborhood bistro that never disappoints! The service is attentive and impeccable, the cozy French atmosphere with recognizable French/Parisian artsy and culinary decor, and the food especially the seafood and pasta specialties are worth good reviews. The salmon, risotto, and tortellini were my favorite. Great place to gather with long time friends and a good spot to meet Girlfriends for lunch! Clark our waiter was especially wonderful and Arnault the owner is always accommodating and friendly! Thank y’all! Sincerely- Holly Fletcher

Food was good and happy with the service. I visited this location awhile back. The desert was creatively presented and delicious.

Yelp
Delicious! Everything. From starters to desserts. Anis is a tried, trusted, true old time fav. Neatly tucked away off Pharr Rd in Buckhead. Never have I ever had a bad meal or experience here, for well over 20 years. Craving authentic (French) roast chicken au jus. I returned to Anis tonight, after about 5 years hiatus, between the pandemic and global travels. Tres jolie! Started with the freshest House Salad, tossed in house mustardy balsamic vinaigrette; accompanied by toasted French bread bites, loaded with goat cheese and tapenade. Yummmmm!!! The poulet rôti majorly hit the mark with stewed lentils and roasted wild mushrooms; though it was a bit dryer than usual... Savory and délicieux. Judging by how my Sweet 16 daughter cleaned her plate of hangar steak, pomme frites, and (more) greens; I'll have to say all rose to her very refined palettes. Her first Anis experience - don't ask why.‍‍ Now dessert! The Gomand deserves its own post. For quantity, quality, and variety; not to mention smooth explosive textures and flavors - value is unmatched. Anis maintains impressive reputation; and continues to deliver enjoyable, affordable savoir faire Parisian dining ambiance and experience. An easy 5 for moi. You should go. Bon appetite!

Yelp
We came here on a Friday morning at 11:30 and by 12 o'clock it was getting busy. We sat outside, which is super cute. Makes you feel like you are somewhere in Europe. Menu was ok, not super big but there are things to choose from. I got Croque Monsieur. with a side of honey chips. Sandwich was good, with a very generous portion of sauce on it. Side of chips were very small though, max 10 chips. But they were really good. My friend got smoked salmon sandwich and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
Arnauld is always so amazing to present us with such an excellent buffet year after year! I wouldn't miss it for the world! It's like being in France only in Atlanta, Georgia lol! Thank youfor being such an amazing host and giving such an offering!

Yelp
Been around for a long time which tells you something. Nice people including some French patrons which also tells you more. Great outdoor area. Good if somewhat disjointed service (very friendly quick and lots of people. ) Valet parking or some local street parking if your lucky. Food great. One of the best steaks ever. Very tasty fries but very thin and hard to pick up with fork. Salmon great followed by profita rolls. We arrived 40 minutes early and they would not seat us even though there were tables. Perhaps the little kitchen was being maxed out. Instead went to quaint bar. Had a cocktail and bought a $45 bottle of wine to take to the table. Seemed great value. My advice is book in advance. Go to the bar after arriving early and sit on the deck. Great place and good value.

Yelp
Very cute French cafe in Buckhead. I would say the ambience is better than the food, but for the price is not a bad deal. A nice spot for a date or hang out with some girlfriends. You can find street parking in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I came here while on a work trip after a recommendation. The meal, atmosphere, and service was all fantastic! This place definitely earned its 5 stars. I was at first a bit intimidated by the French menu but I was quickly relaxed, then excited by the options. I went with the salmon over risotto it was cooked perfectly. I ate it so fast. The salmon portion was fair and for dessert I had a really well made crème brûlée. Highly recommended if you're in the Buckhead ATL area!

Yelp
I came for dinner on a Wednesday and this place was buzzing! A place being packed on a weekday night is usually a good sign. Service is quick, attentive, and very warm and welcoming. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed and the patio is a great place to sit on a summer night. We weren't super super hungry so we passed on the starters, but I know I need to come back and try their beloved mussels. We got the tortelloni with beef, and the roasted chicken. For dessert we had creme brulee and the profiteroles. My dinner buddy really enjoyed her tortelloni, and the beef looked super tender. My roast chicken (seems to be a breast with a drumstick) came with potato puree and haricot verts. Perfectly done green beans, perfect potato. Chicken was well seasoned, skin was wonderfully crispy. Meat was a bit on the dry side which is hard to avoid with breast. Creme brulee was the perfect dessert, and my friend enjoyed her profiteroles. Would definitely come back and try the mussels!

Yelp
Oui! Oui! for Anis Cafe and Bistro! If you're like me, my knowledge of French cuisine didn't extend much beyond French toast or French fries (wink wink!). I'm excited to say Anis deepened my palate and appreciation for French cuisine. We visited on a whim after visiting a friend in Buckhead who highly recommended. Parking is valet. We arrived ahead of the dinner crowd with no reservation and opted for outdoor dining. Our waiter loved the mussels so much he treated us to an order for an appetizer. We were surprised and delighted - they come in white wine and seasoned with garlic and Parmesan. We paired them with the bread basket. 10 out of 10 recommend! For my entree, I ordered beef tortellini (Tortelloni Et Beouf Braise). Think homemade ricotta tortellini with the most tender beef - see photo! I loved it and cleaned my plate. My husband tried the quiche du jour, which happened to be three cheese. The patio is charming and quaint, but not too crowded. I highly recommend for date night, business meals and celebrations. Cheers to Anis!

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch on the patio at Anis. This French bistro is an Atlanta staple offering savory dishes in a relaxed setting. We enjoyed the mussels and Parmesan frites to start. Special of the day was a delicious duck dish. The group also had salmon salad as well as tamato tartare. Service was great as was the birthday treat and candle! Reservations recommended if you want to sit on the patio. Street parking may be available but the restaurant has valet.

Yelp
I stopped by this quaint bistro looking for a meal before the gym. The menu was appealing so I had a hard time deciding what to get. The staff assisted me in deciding on the Croque Saumon, salmon was ordered medium but seemed closer to rare. Overall, the sandwich was tasty and the were chips made fresh which provided a soft crunch to them. If that makes sense. Parking is valet, and there is indoor and outdoor seating. I'll need to dine in to get the full experience. This may become one of my "in the cut" spots. Update: I dined in today and I must say the only thing I enjoyed was my cappuccino. Avoid the fish unless it's on a sandwich, maybe. I had their special which consisted of trout. The fish was fishin'... as in you could smell it as soon as the dish was brought out. Either the fish was not fresh or the fish is not stored properly. I even gave their salmon salad a shot. No smell there, but the char on the salmon completely overpowered the flavor the fish and ruined the meal for me. It made me feel as though the grill wasn't very clean. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, but I'm not sure if I know anyone who would enjoy that flavor. I was considering dessert but felt like I didn't want to be disappointed any further, so I decided to settle up and leave.

Yelp
It has been a few years since we last ate here. The food and service was great. We sat on the patio next to the railing. The 2 toppers are a bit small but we had a great view of a raccoon living in a tree across the parking lot. Apparently his name is Maurice per our waiter lol
google avatar

Shimere B.

Yelp
My friends and I love to come to the restaurant and sit on the patio. The staff is very friendly and they always remember us. This time I had the trout and it was amazing! The crème brûlée is proper and I highly recommend. They also have a great selection of wines.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch with a group of friends and sat outside in the covered patio. Service was good although they were very busy. We tried the croque saumon which was absolutely delicious, the croque monsieur, and the Nutella and banana crepes. Their brunch drinks were very good as well, highly recommend the bloody Marie if you like a spicy Bloody Mary! We can't wait to go back! They have valet parking but can be kind of slow when they're busy. You can also street park on your own which is probably easier!

Yelp
Tried another French restaurant this weekend! 10/10 for the atmosphere and the vibe. It really felt like a French cafe but not in a cliché way. We sat outside on the patio and the string lights over us were so cute, as well as the decorations! 10/10 for the staff. They were very friendly and even spoke to us in French! 9/10 for the selection on the menu and the price. It was slightly expensive but at the same time pretty reasonable for the selection and location. It isn't super vegetarian-friendly. There are a couple of options but a lot of traditional French food isn't vegetarian so it is understandable. I think my main complaint would be that there were only 2 main dishes that were veggie but the one I chose was really nothing special. Personally, I'd rather see crêpes salées or galettes or something else that could easily be vegetarian rather than just a veggie sandwich. There was a pasta option though, so I will definitely try that one next time! But if you aren't vegetarian, you definitely have a good selection of dishes :) 5/10 for the veggie sandwich. I wasn't really a fan. There was way too much spinach and mushroom it was kind of, for lack of better words, " slimy " and hard to chew. After, that is just my opinion. It was definitely edible I just felt it was a little heavy on those two ingredients and I'd have rather had more peppers/tomatoes instead. Especially since it was accompanied by a large green salad. Which also was dry. I didn't notice any vinaigrette on the salad. Overall for the ambiance it was definitely worth it. My food was alright but I will have to try the pasta next time for sure! Still highly recommend and I absolutely will be going back even if it is just to try a cheese plate and wine haha

Yelp
My friend and I were excited to try Anis Café and Bistro and as we pulled up it was a very cute restaurant with an idyllic cottage setting and lots of trees surrounding it. They offer a cozy outdoor patio and cute indoor seating. We decided to sit inside and were greeted by our waiter, whom you honestly can't tell who works here because no one is dressed professionally or in a streamlined manner. He seemed scattered throughout the dining process and this made for a less than pleasant experience. I had the chicken salad sandwich and my friend had the salmon entree. The food was OK but the quality and combination of ingredients weren't impressive. I asked if the bread was made fresh daily and the waiter responded "yes" however, upon first bite the bread was very hard and crusty---didn't taste fresh made. I requested a box and would have preferred to box my food myself instead of having the waiter do so. Regardless, both the food and the service were average.

Yelp
Excellent French cafe known for their in house cured salmon. Highly recommend ordering anything with their in house salmon. I ordered their croque salmon and was pleasantly surprised. The tomato blended nicely with the Salmon and onion was actually very mild. It was like a tomato soup with grilled cheese in one very perfect bite. Bread was extraordinarily crisp and flavors blended very well. They also gave us a free dessert as our first time here. All good desserts but we were just so full. The chicken salad sandwich was also very good- there was tomato in it but tomatoes were well chosen and ripened so it worked well with the chicken salad. Chips on the side for the sandwiches. Friendly service, great vibes, chill, French Revolution meets French American ambassadorship. An excellent joint in buckhead for those who want something high quality but not too formal or fancy.

Yelp
Amazing food and a cozy atmosphere. My wife and I came here to enjoy some escargot. While not your traditional escargot in garlic butter/olive oil, it is absolutely delicious. A nice creamy sauce packed with flavor. We really enjoyed our dish. The service was great and very friendly. Looking forward to our next visit back here.

Yelp
I had no idea this little spot existed until I went for a friends birthday! It's a quaint little spot if you're in the mood for French food. I ordered the croque madame and the soup du jour which happened to be a tomato basil (my favorite). The sandwich was so rich and filling and paired amazingly with the soup which was some of the best tomato soup I've ever had! It was the perfect meal for a rainy day. The space is a little snug, but the patio area was also closed due to the rain that day. I'm not sure how busy it typically gets, but it seems like a place where you'd want to make a reservation! They also offer complimentary valet parking in their back lot which is a huge plus. I'll definitely be back, because I need to try out some of their delicious looking dessert menu!

Yelp
Lovely restaurant I sat outdoors and waiter was extremely nice and gave excellent suggestions We had the mussels and fries and carrot ginger soup and rocket salad All excellent The music playing was also amazing ! I have never been to this restaurant and will return

Yelp
I had both the Escargot Au Pastis and Tortelloni et Boeuf Braisé. Both were good, but I enjoyed the escargot much more than my main entree. It was different, but still tasty. For my dinner, I think I counted four (4) tortelloni's with bits of braised beef. Would I get it again? Probably not. I enjoyed the ambience and my husband enjoyed his dinner. I can't really remember what he ordered since it's been over a week since we were there. It's a cute quaint restaurant and a nice place to eat out doors.

Yelp
I recently dined at Anis, a charming French restaurant, and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance exuded an authentic Parisian feel, complemented by warm lighting and elegant decor. The menu featured a delightful array of French classics, each dish prepared with precision and flair. The Niçoise salad was excellent, full of flavor. The attentive service added to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a taste of France right in the heart of Buckhead.

Yelp
I was a first- time visitor killing some time while I waited for a hair appointment and I'm so glad I did. Not pictured is a sample of the creamy potato soup and a desert. Everything was delicious! I visited on a Friday around 1245 and was able to be seated immediately. I opted to sit indoors due to the fabric of my clothing and an outdoor temp of 81 degrees...whew! I could tell my the patrons at the bar that they frequent this establishment. The bartender knew three out of four individuals by name (I was the only exception). Definitely a welcoming environment from the hostess, to the manager, owner and bartender. Anywho, I plan on returning again in the very near future. There's a bit of parking located behind the establishment. Get there early!

Yelp
Anis was refreshing to have food that had flavor and vaule. Everything we tried was spot on flavor.

Yelp
Come here if you enjoy a good ambiance. I've been visiting Anis with family and friends for over 14 years now. They have some of the best outdoor seating in Atlanta, a very friendly staff and owner, and amazing food. I generally love everything on the menu but if I had to recommend one thing it would be the mussels.

Yelp
Back again on a warm summer night. My server was Dali. He was so nice and attentive! Once again we started with that bread basket!! The bread is good but to get to amazing I needed the sauce from the escargot or mussels. That sauce takes the bread from good to irresistible! Ask for some of that sauce on the side- thank me later. Appetizer Soup of the day/ tomato and crab - yum!! Salmon carpaccio - yasss ! Light and refreshing! 2 specials Halibut Duck confit Both dishes were excellent! And dessert was amazing... chocolate with ice cream and almonds!!!! And the rose...CHÂTEAU MINUTY, 'M DE MINUTY,' CÔTES DE PROVENCE, ROSÉ, '19.... Wow!!!

Yelp
Good food. Waiter a bit off Bread. The bread had a small change but came out hot and fresh. Service with good olive oil which they left a bottle on table. 4 stars Vegetarian tortellini. The tortellini was really good. It came with nice tomatoes and an assortment of vegetables. Almost too many and it would have been better chopped up a bit more but that's more of a personal preference. 4 stars Parking. No fee, just a tip. Good for Atlanta Waiter. We asked for bread and I asked about sesame seeds on the bread as I'm allergic. He brought French fries. We asked for two deserts, he repeated them back to us and brought only one. Then when the check came it wasn't adjusted for the mistake. I'll say just a little mistake but he wasn't paying attention. We all have bad days. Will go back and try again

Yelp
Love this place! It's always delicious and the service is excellent. The building is an old house and the ambiance is great. I recommend sitting on the patio. The mussels are AMAZING, you can't come here and not get them. Get the bread or the fries to dip in the leftover sauce. I always get the saumon a la poele and it's always very good! Anis is a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or just a date. :)

Yelp
Everything! The night started when I was scheduled to dine with my family (8 of us) across the street at Basil's. Their staff was so overwhelmed by the volume of customers, that they forgot their manners and kept telling me we had to wait (for everything, despite having a reservation). I have no time for poor customer service, so I trekked across the street and was politely greeted by the staff at Anis. Everything about their energy was accommodating. I explained to The host our desire to be away from crowds and that we would like to sit outside. Her attitude was, "of course, we can do that for you. Just give us a moment to set up a table outside." How pleasant... and that, she did. She, herself, went and moved tables around to seat us. From there, the red carpet was rolled out by ALL of the incredible staff. Our waiter, the busboy, the owner, the manager... they take an all hands on deck approach to ensuring your experience is exceptional. It wasn't JUST our table that they catered to. I watched them offer the same, loving treatment to each table. It was such a pleasure. Now, the food... OMG! A delight. EVERYTHING was prepared to perfection. I got the trout, mom got quiche, sister-in-law got sick, and brother got the salmon!!! Each meal was cooked with the right amount of juiciness and crisp...the flavors were so uniquely delightful. I came back to the DC area and searched for another French restaurant to hit the spot, but no one came close! If you are in ATL, GO TO ANIS!!! You will be extremely pleased.

Yelp
I thought it was probably one of the most perfect restaurant experiences I've ever had. I think their food is fantastic, every single employee provided top-notch service, the prices for food and drink is probably the most reasonable and all of Buckhead, and the restaurant is wonderfully homey. French can give you a lot of different types of menus but this one is more classic, but it is not predictable and I very much appreciate that. My favorite dish was the salmon and risotto. I was absolutely unsure however risotto with Roquefort cheese was going to be. I can't imagine putting cheese in a risotto is an easy thing to get right but this was phenomenal. It was just enough to get that wonderful Roquefort blue cheese flavor without it seeming like a cheesy rice. It was just a perfect risotto with a bit of Roquefort flavor. Salmon as well was a generous portion, perfectly cooked with a nice sear, and tender throughout. We also got the tortellini and beef which I could say just as many good things for. The arugula salad with fresh lemon was such a simple dish but done very very well. I couldn't quite tell how they did the artichokes but I could have done a whole cup of just those they were so good. The dressing for the arugula that just lemon but I think they had to have cut it with something at least a little sweet because it wasn't the completely tart lemon dressing I'd expect. It was perfectly acidic without just hitting you in the face. My wife also wanted to order the escargot. I'll say this, it is probably the 10th time I've tried escargot in my life and I never once enjoyed it. The sauce on this escargot was absolutely phenomenal and it made me go in for a second and third bite which is saying a ton if you know how much I did not want that escargot. Something about an earthy fishy taste just never worked for me in snails but because that wasn't the most prominent flavor here and there were more components to the dish I can say I might have finally somewhat enjoyed escargot. However the salmon carpaccio appetizer was sooooo good. It didn't really taste like a normal cured salmon that gets kind of dry and tougher. It almost was like sashimi with some salt. I absolutely love that as it made it seem much fresher. Lastly we got blackberry bread pudding for dessert. I feel like every dish had me saying something like I don't know how they did that. It doesn't seem complex but I don't know how you make these dishes as good as they are and the bread pudding was no exception. Blackberries can be tart, blackberries can have seeds, blackberries can take over the flavor of a dish. None of that was true here. The blackberries were actually very sweet. So I don't know if they did something to them or they just source their ingredients very very well. The Bread pudding was soft and great flavor and the ice cream they had was phenomenal. Like it's better than normal ice cream. Again probably just goes to their attention to great ingredients. While I cannot say enough about the food, the service was just out of this world. Our server, I think his name was Andy, knew the menu like the back of his hand and could talk about it without reciting a script or being pretentious. He just talked to us and was super nice but had the best suggestions. He was just on top of every single second. We also had a great experience with the hostess and we started with a drink at the bar too and the bartender was just so nice as well and very good as my wife ordered off menu cocktail and she just nailed what she wanted. I love the look of the restaurant too. It's almost like an old house with a fantastic patio. It feels very homey and welcoming but is also sophisticated. The wine selection was excellent. I could just go on and on about all the things I loved here but suffice to say I was pretty blown away about how great of an experience this was and I can't wait to go back

Yelp
Let me start by mentioning that I enjoyed my first experience at Anis Cafe & Bistro so much that I forgot to take any photos, so you'll have to just take my word for how lovely the restaurant and food were. Anis is located in Buckhead, and I really appreciate that they offer complimentary valet. Off to a great start already. We chose to sit on the heated patio, which is so cute. A very unique decor and vibe that makes you feel both welcomed and like you could be in a cafe in France. Our server, Dali, gave us such an amazing experience. He was funny, friendly, and attentive. I left Anis in a really great mood, and that means a lot! I should also mention that the food was delicious, presented beautifully, and priced fairly. We each had a glass of wine and started with the bread basket ($4 and came with several large pieces of tasty bread) and the calamari ($10 - very good, highly recommend). We both ordered the Tortelloni et Boeuf Braisé ($26 and amazing!!), which Dali tried to teach us how to pronounce (I butchered it because I do not speak French at all). Dali then brought us a plate with several little desserts that were all wonderful, which really ended the evening on a bang (my favorites that I will definitely order again were the chocolate cake, the vanilla ice cream, and the chocolate mousse). Anis just became one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta that I can't wait to come back to soon! I also can't wait to recommend it to everyone :)

Yelp
Great service. My first visit in 23 years as I moved. It's everything I want in a cafe/restaurant. Independently owned, stand alone building, parking and nice food with great ingredients. I'll definitely be back. It's not as intimate as I remember. The enclosed porch was too cluttered and close and average. The chef and waitress made up for that.

Yelp
The steak frites was dry. It took a while to come out. The service was fine, it wasn't anything special. The ambiance was alright. The desert was spectacular.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend. I am from France and I wanted to find a good place to eat French food in Atlanta. This restaurant offers a few classic French dishes. It's always a pleasure to eat dishes that you haven't had the opportunity to eat for a while lol The restaurant is well located in Buckhead. It is possible to park easily in the street, where there is also a valet parking behind the restaurant. The staff was very nice! Our waitress spoke a little French, which was quite nice to speak a little French in a French food restaurant. The terrace of the restaurant is quite large, so you can plan to come with a group of friends. I ordered the "Tortelloni et Boeuf Braisé" and my girlfriend who is vegetarian ordered the "Veggie sandwich". My dish was overall very good. The only small complaint was that there was too much sauce on my plate... but the rest overall was very well cooked. My girlfriend liked her dish as well, but it seems that there was a little too much salad in her sandwich and not enough vegetables. My dish was $28 and the Veggie Sandiwich was $14, which is still very decent for the quality of the restaurant and the location. Regarding the improvement, I don't have any idea because it was really good and the service was great. I recommend this restaurant if you like or want to discover the classics of French cuisine!

Yelp
Located on a quiet tree-lined lane in the heart of Atlanta's trendy Buckhead Village, Anis is a cozy French Bistro with a large outside covered patio. During the continuing threat of the Delta variant and aqueous effects of Hurricane Ida, the "outside" and "covered" protections made Anis a perfect choice for our family dinner. Like so many restaurants in Atlanta, convenient valet parking is a must and was perfect on this rainy evening. We opened with a bottle of Faire Le Fete, a sparkling French Rose to toast our long awaited Georgia reunion. Cheers! We then ordered a quartet of appetizers for the table including Anis' famous Mussels, Escargots, Carpaccio and Calamari. All starters were exquisite! For entrees, three from our party opted for the off-menu New York Strip w/ asparagus while my wife and I opted for fish: Her with the pan-roasted Salmon over Roquefort risotto and me with the Halibut over a unique combo of beets and pecans. Complimented with a bottle of exceptionally good French Burgundy, we all felt like we hit Bingo with our meals. We finished our celebration of my son's new Buckhead townhouse by sharing a Gateau Au Chocolat, a dense chocolate cake with double chocolate ice cream. As busy as this place was during our 1.5 hour dinner, our service was absolutely excellent with zero delays. Props to Anis' professional waitstaff. Sign the bill, tip the Valet and we're history. 5 stars over Buckhead.

Yelp
Always delicious and authentic. The staff is super friendly, the ambiance is as if we're sitting in Paris. Great hidden neighborhood, too!

Yelp
Last night's experience was beyond exceptional. Each of the four of us ordered a different entree and all four plates were spectacular. Served hot and timely, each was tasty, well proportioned and fresh. Lynn, our server, was polite, pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu. Outdoor dining was very peasant amidst a bustling atmosphere of diners and waitstaff. Outstanding!

Yelp
Love this French cafe with a wonderful patio and great food and service. Best to make reservations. Can be lively so go early and beat the crowd. Owners really get to know regulars too. Enjoy!

Yelp
Probably one of the best meals I had in Atlanta. We originally wanted to try another French restaurant but it was booked. So we took a chance and came here without a reservation. It was a Friday night and everyone apparently had a reservation. Luckily we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get a table outside. "Outside" was outside but tented, but we were tucked in a corner, not close enough to any table. We looked at the menu and it looked pretty basic, nothing particularly French with the exception of the Escargots, which we ordered. But the specials was were we wanted to be. We got the fish special - I think it was trout and the duck confit. The escargot was delicious and went well with the house bread we ordered. Both the fish and duck were delicious and we were stuffed, but we had to get the dessert. All in all a very nice experience with delicious food.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the food has gone downhill. I used to love this restaurant and eat here often. That was a long time ago. Food- 1 star. Service- 1 star. Atmosphere- 3 stars. And service was not great either. Probably never go again.

Yelp
This is the best kept secret in Atlanta. I would recommend this to anyone regardless of cuisine preference. Literally everything is amazing and reasonably priced. Our waiter was fantastic and we can't wait to visit again. The ambiance is really intimate and great for a date night

Yelp
Delicious food & very relaxed ambiance, yet full of personality and charm. Indoor and outdoor seating (heated) available; I personally prefer sitting on the outside patio and looking out into the sun as it's setting - it's a whole other experience in itself. CÔTE DE PORC GRILLÉE; a must try, for any pork chop lover - I practically licked the plate clean! SAUMON À LA POÊLE: recommended for those with slightly eclectic palettes. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium-rare (completed at your preference); soft and fleshy on the inside, crispy on the outside. The risotto base and the pear toppings offered an exotic, yet pleasant taste. (If you don't like bleu cheese, AVOID this dish.) It is walking distance from the Shops at Buckhead Atlanta, for those of you that may want to burn the calories that were monstrously devoured at the wonderful Anis Cafe & Bistro.

Yelp
Sunday brunch large crowd very noisy until after 1:00 My eggs Benedict were cold. Looked and tasted like it was prepared before I ordered it.... same with the Lyonsise. potatoes. Not hot like it just came out from cooking . It was warm or room temperature like it was standing a while in kitchen waiting to be served. Large crowd all tables full...Too many orders? ...not enough staff to serve when ready?

Yelp
Headline: hope you're not hungry. A friend & I went here to catch up. I want to start off by saying service & ambiance was great. No complaints. But, like I said, I hope you're not coming here hungry. I ordered the vegetarian tortellini. It was delicious, but it only came with 4 pieces. Lol. Literally 4 pieces of tortellini. It would maybe suffice for a 5 year old child. I'm an average-sized female with an average appetite. The meal itself was great, but I won't be ordering it again if I come back.

Yelp
Was not up to the regular standard. Hopefully the owner gets back involved. Usually see him but not the last couple of visits. Shows.

Yelp
Nice quaint eatery in what seems to be the nicer area of Atlanta. Straightforward classic takes on dishes that seem familiar but I have never tried before, the servers were mature and showed great hospitality when taking care of us

Yelp
Phenomenal French meal! M family dined on the outside porch to celebrate my father's birthday! All of the waiters and waitresses were super nice. It started monsooning outside, but the employees were quick to put down these plastic tarps around the porch and no one got wet! The food was phenomenal. I loved the Mussels as an appetizer, and everything tasted phenomenal. I loved my experience here and look forward to coming back again and again.

Yelp
So, despite a reservation for indoor seating, they tried to seat us outside on the patio at wet, rained-on tables. While one hostess was apologetic, the other seemed annoyed that we didn't want to sit at a wet table. Some of the food was good. The bread and pate were delicious. Everything else tasted bland and under-seasoned. The tomato soup tasted like vegetable stock. The braised beef and tortellini tasted very one note. The service at the bar and at the table was good for the most part, as were the deserts. Excellent chocolate mousse and creme brûlée.

Yelp
Excellent prep and presentation. Very highly recommended. One question: $4.00 for a basket of French bread at a French cafe??????
