The ambience is great and the service was also good. I ordered the pork lemongrass noodle bowl and it was quite tasty and flavorful. The Vietnamese iced coffee came fresh and was one of the best I’ve had! Only thing that made me raise my eyebrows was the $2 charge for a side of chili paste, a condiment that should be complimentary. Even if there is a charge, $2 for a side seems excessive! Otherwise, I enjoyed my dining experience there and would go again, sans chili order!

Google
I love this gem so much! Quality food, great service and the bartender/owner, Long, is awesome! The spring rolls are always fresh. The pho is delicious and a big bowl. And I really love the spices used on their signature pork chop dinner!

Google
The food here is so flavorful! Had the vegan happy hour rolls (wish I had ordered more they were so good) and vegan pho. The family running Anise are kind and great with dietary restrictions.

Google
The staff were friendly and very accommodating when I requested gluten free vegan pho. They said their pho is naturally gluten free except for the hoisin sauce. They made sure hoisin sauce was not included in my pho. They also have gluten free soy sauce!

Been here countless times. From ownership, the chef, to our favorite server (June) - it's clear they take pride in high quality, authentic food and flavors. I have virtually eaten through the menu, no let downs. I should have more photos at this point. Highlights are definitely the pho, but also all of the appetizers. An honorable mention to the Fried rice is necessary too. The service is great for such a modest and unfussy place. They pull well above their weight in the quality of food for the price point. Look forward to coming back again soon.

Google
This is a perfect place for a game!! Stumbled upon this place, thinking it was closed. I never would have guessed walking in that I would experience some of the best food I’ve had in Denver in the past seven years. The bar area has plenty of TVs and a wide selection of drinks. The spring rolls are phenomenal. The edamame was fresh. The service was super quick. The other restaurants in the area and come here, seriously.

Google
Great food! Second time there and it had an even better experience. We had a bigger group and tried a good variety of dishes. The food is fragrant, flavorful and plentiful.

Google
Excellent meatball pho, better service. Came in earlier today, in a rush - I had 25 minutes before I had to be somewhere else. I was IMMEDIATELY greeted and when I said “can I eat quickly” he took my order ON THE SPOT before my butt touched the chair. They even accommodated my specific preferences which I know is annoying to the kitchen especially if it has to be rushed. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had lunch here twice. My favorite was the Pho. Good service and authentic food. Ambiance was good.

Yelp
Located on a Main Street. Can get metered parking or if you're lucky, free 2 hour side street parking Fairly large restaurant with a bar and a large menu. This is a higher scale Vietnamese restaurant so the prices are a lot higher (eg $18 for a combination pho). The pho was very flavorful. Owners were very nice and fun to chat with!

Yelp
Visited Anise after getting our snowboards waxed next door to Evo, and overall it was an enjoyable visit! The setting was calm, relaxed, and the restaurant was about half full on a Wednesday night. It felt homey/family room, and the server was very nice, helpful, and attentive. One thing to note is that their Banh Mi is only served during lunch. * Spicy Edamame: Nothing special about this dish, was essentially plain steamed edamame with their signature hot spice drizzled on it, but the sauce is so spicy that they can only use a little bit, which leaves the edamame a little dry and unseasoned (could use some more salt). * Shrimp Spring Roll: Probably our favorite item, one of the best spring rolls we've had! Slightly warm, the shrimp tasted fresh, kinda creamy, not rubbery, with the right amount of veggies and rice. I would come back for these alone. * Beef Pho: The broth was really good, light, not too salty, and they don't use MSG. Overall tasted as expected. The dish was light, and overall on the smaller side with less noodles then we've had at other places. * Chicken Stir Fry: Smoky, herby, warm flavor, very comforting. I recommend getting a little bit of their spicy house sauce and putting in on it, was perfect! For the quality of the food and the service, the price was great! We left full under $80 with all the food, tax, and tip. I'd recommend stopping by and trying it out if you find yourself in the area.

Yelp
What a delicious Christmas Eve meal with our families. My husband and I always do some form of Asian on Christmas Eve and this year we had 10 total. It was hard finding somewhere that would take reservations for that many but Anise delivered. We shared the beef curry, spicy edamame, and a stir fry. We both really liked all our dishes and our almost 1 year old also enjoyed sampling what she could. The coconut curry was not the type of curry we are use to getting (usually Thai) but the coconut heavy version was delightful! The edamame was definitely spicy, which usually if a place says spicy it isn't usually very spicy. So be warned. Service was great and the atmosphere is inviting. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We worked up an appetite visiting the History Colorado Center. When I checked Yelp to see if there were any good restaurants around with vegan options for my friend, Anise popped up. I was super excited as vegan Vietnamese food isn't all that common where I live. We were the only customers when we walked in at noon on a Saturday but by the time we left, it was hopping. Menus are available by scanning a QR code (no this isn't my favorite thing). We ended up ordering the tofu spring rolls, the vegan crispy rolls, the tofu bahn mi, and the vegan pho. The rolls were very good (I liked the crispy a bit more than the spring but this really is just preference). All conversation ceased when we got our entrees. The broth on my vegan pho was so wonderfully aromatic it is hard to explain. It was easily--easily--the best pho I've ever had. At some point I remembered my manners and stopped slurping down my food to ask my friend how his food was. He said, mouth full, "this is the best banh mi I've ever had in my life." Then we both happily went back to our food in silence. We definitely had to flag our server over to order or when we needed anything but he was friendly and helpful with the menu. I ate my left over pho cold for breakfast the next day and it was still delicious (don't judge me). So, to recap, QR menus, service slightly meh--BEST VIETNAMESE FOOD I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!

Yelp
This restaurant is my comfort place. This is the perfect place to try Vietnamese food if you haven't, and if you want authentic flavors with an approachable menu this is it. As a Vietnamese gal, I LOVE how they have a vegan/ vegetarian option for everything and naturally Vietnamese food is mostly gluten free! Vietnamese food is naturally so healthy and yet so much more interesting than your traditional salad. The lemongrass tofu bowl will fill you up for days it is so huge. The fresh veggies with the sauce accompanying it creates the most fresh and healthy meal that I constantly crave! I personally add a touch of soy sauce for a bit more salty flavor as well. As mentioned in another review I adore the banh xeo, and it too will fill you up. This tumeric and coconut crepe is thick with onions and protein , and then you wrap it in lettuce and top with pickled veggies. This dish can get messy, but it makes a great dish to share because it offers two huge crepes. I personally always need more lettuce, so feel free to ask for more if you like smaller wraps! Finally the bananas in coconut milk is a very simple dessert with charred bananas in a salty coconut sauce. This is also gluten free. The attention to detail here at anise is really what makes it top notch in my opinion.

Yelp
Great Place ! Great Food, Large Variety of Menu Items, Quick Service, Large Variety of Draft Beer and always easy to get into ! Can't think of anything else you could ask for ! !

Yelp
What's great find on a trip to Denver! Food was very fresh and tasty and the service top notch. Huge menu...something for everyone. Family owned. They have a brunch menu too! We had shrimp cakes (I could have devoured several more of these delicious morsels), vegan pho and their house ginger liquor tea (jasmine leaves). Vietnamese coffee was divine. Everything was just really, really good. Try it if you haven't!

Yelp
4.5 stars. LOL still haven't tried their cocktails (or sat in their front bar area) but I'm constantly impressed by the quick service at Anise. They always seem to be empty, but that's because they serve and turn around customers so efficiently. Most recently I had the Shrimp Spring Rolls, Tofu Curry, and Lemongrass Pork Bowl. The ingredients are SO fresh here. Even though I DO eat meat, I'm obsessed with the flavor of the Tofu Curry. Lemongrass Pork Bowl was filling, but maybe that's because the real estate of my stomach was taken up by the Shrimp Spring Rolls. Oh, and get the spicy sauce... be conservative with it because it's FIRE. P.S. The blue neon lights are still jarring.

Yelp
Service was not very good. A friend asked for beef meatballs and didn't receive them. Friends had the combination beef pho and they noted: - noodles were soggy - broth was too salty - two didn't even touch their pho because it was inedible Anise Banh mi - decent but very small Overpriced and not authentic.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food!!! I had the beef lemon grass bowl! Yummmmy. Fresh! Extremely fresh. Sweet people who work there! Portions are perfect. What I can't get over is how the amazing the food quality is. I know the prices are higher than what you pay on federal - but this has that extra touch and it's worth it to me to pay little more when the quality of meat and veggies are so quality

Yelp
Great spot to grab some pho and other Vietnamese dishes. We came mid afternoon over the weekend and it wasn't too busy. It's a fairly large restaurant and the service was great. They don't use MSG in their food. Personally, I cook wjth MSG at home and it adds a ton of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor of their pho broth - you can tell they spend a lot of time making the broth. I got the beef combination, which comes with rare steak, beef cubes and meatballs. Great flavor, tender meat. The noodles were good too- cooked just right. Highly recommend thus place for pho and can't wait to try some other dishes when I come back!

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while because of the high ratings. However, this feels more like a Vietnamese restaurant catered for downtown. First off, the prices are quite high for very small portions. You could probably find another Vietnamese restaurant that serves the same item at the same price but with more food since it doesn't have the downtown price tag. The appetizers are worth ordering. I like the Bánh Căn and the crispy tofu. The banh mi bites were okay. I thought they would be like baby banh mi sliders style but they're the ingredients served on baguette slices. The banh xeo was underwhelming. It's very expensive for two baby banh xeo. We also ordered the lemongrass bun bowl and fried rice. The fried rice was good and a nice item to share family style if you wanted. The lemongrass was too strong for my liking.

Whitney R.

Yelp
This is a gem! The good was amazing and the family are great people. We had two main entrees and they were very flavorful and yummy. I had a glass of the house red wine blend and it was good as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tanya P.

Yelp
Quyen Trinh was disrespectful towards me. She noticed I was speaking a different language with my family and treated me differently. The place was really dirty. I do not understand who is giving five stars.

Alisa A.

Yelp
The service is terrible. They sat my family down and then we didn't like the menu and the tables were super dirty so we decided to leave. The woman followed us and called us names and started yelling to get our. do not go here. Queyen Trinh was the one that was screaming.

Yelp
After a busy day of entertaining a friend from out of town, we were both hungry and looking for something hot, yummy, and comforting. He was craving pho, and after a quick search, we ended up at Anise. The restaurant is quite spacious. When you enter the restaurant, you walk into the bar. The bar area has a few TV's around to watch your favorite sporting events, as well as countertop seating and high-top tables and chairs. Just through the bar and down a few steps is the main dining room. We arrived one hour before closing, so they had the main dining room cleaned and closed, and only bar seating open. It wasn't very busy at all. The servers were very attentive and provided speedy service. I wasn't really feeling pho, so I decided to try something new. I ordered the Shrimp Curry. The curry comes with your choice of GF rice noodles, GF white rice, or their in-house baked baguette. Since I couldn't decide, I asked the server what he recommended. He suggested the baguette, so I went with his suggestion. I am so glad I decided to try something new because this curry was so unbelievably tasty and comforting! The curry sauce is made with coconut milk and a vegan based stock, served with stewed carrots and broccoli, bean sprouts, jalapeño, and Thai basil. My curry came with seven LARGE perfectly cooked shrimp, and the baguette to dip into the curry was 100% the right choice. Everything about this dish was excellent. While we were enjoying our meals, the owner and her husband came out several times to check on us to see how we were liking our food. I told him how much I loved the curry, and he mentioned that they make authentic Vietnamese food. He was very kind. Their curry is truly unforgettable and so super cravable. I will absolutely return to Anise when I am in the area and order the Shrimp Curry again.

Yelp
Omg loved this place. I'm vegan and they had a great array of options for me. I went with the vegan pho, the crispy vegan rolls and the fried rice. Everything was very flavorful. The food arrived quickly. Service was great and I just enjoyed my self! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Came here at 5 on on a Thursday evening and it was pretty quiet. Met a friend had had all vegetarian fair. Started with the vegan crispy rolls and the server suggested the crepes to share. Everything was super fresh and tasty! The crepe was savory and delicious with all of the fresh herbs and vegetables that come with it. I love food that is flavorful and healthy! Will be back!

Michelle G.

Yelp
Really good, fresh food and really nice waiters. Family-owned and operated. We love the lemongrass tofu and beef pho.
google avatar

Matthew J.

Yelp
One of the best Pho's I've had across the world. The broth had enough depth to just eat straight away. Meat was delicious and the shrimp fried rice was unique in every way. Would recommend 10/10 and I'll be back!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time! I stopped by for lunch with a friend and was met with great service and a nice cocktail list. I went with the Lychee martini - refreshing, nice portion size, and undoubtedly strong. I was surprised at how many drink options they had, Anise goes far beyond just pho! I had the green curry which had a nice flavor, but was a bit too soupy for my preference. It really felt like soup more than anything, but hey, flavor is what I really care about! The staff was very kind and obviously hard working, Anise is a great restaurant to support!
google avatar

Shahin R.

Yelp
I've been to over twelve pho restaurants in Colorado. ANISE is the very best! The broth is so delicious and rich, the meat is tender, and the noodles are perfect. The service is professional, and the atmosphere is lively. This will be my go to spot from here on out, next time I'm trying the bottomless mimosas!
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Had dinner at Anise the other night - the service was great, super fast. The atmosphere is very casual - clean, but nothing fancy. The appetizers and dinner food were good; I will go back, but I'd get something different next time. ( sometimes adventuresome ordering doesn't work out ;) ) They do have a full bar, a plus. FWIW: I used metered street parking.
google avatar

Yelp
We got a horrible server. He greeted us like a rude bouncer at a night club after we repeated our number of people a few times to him and it was pretty unwelcoming. The restaurant was dead by the way. Same server also had Never me, the customer, move utensils out of his way so he can set a empty bowl down. Unless its piping hot food like soup, thats a no no and people in the food service industry should know as its food server etiquette 101 to clear and plate the table accordingly. Same guy dropped and spilled a whole chicken pho on the floor and shattered the bowl while we were trying to exit. Food overpriced. Especially for $26, I've had a combo of protein with a roll for my dry vermicelli bowl. This was just for one protein at $26. Nothing special. The carrots were not prepped the right way. The fish sauce seemed water down. Shocking that its these prices for average sub par Vietnamese food.
google avatar

Kaitlyn W.

Yelp
I passed this place driving to work nearly every day and finally got the chance to go with some friends a few months ago. I loved the bahn mi appetizer, and my chicken dish was large and delicious. Really glad I got to try it and will be going back!

Yelp
When planning our trip to Denver we already had anise in mind because we wanted to see how the Denver pho compared to home. Anise is a casual Vietnamese restaurant just outside of downtown Denver but within (long) walking/biking/scooter distance to most neighborhoods in Denver. We ordered the spring roll platter which was a sampling of each of their types of rolls including vegan rolls. They also had a vegan sauce option for the rolls. Surprisingly the vegan rolls and sauce were my favorite! Now for the pho, the photo does not do the portion size justice. It is HUGE!! Honestly two people could walk away full off one order of pho! The beef pho broth was so aromatic and had an amazing deep flavor. I didn't add any additional sauce that was provided because it already tasted to good! The service was great! The restaurant was a little slow because we went during the NBA finals when the Denver nuggets were playing. They did have a full bar area that was playing the game. We sat on the restaurant side as opposed to the bar side. Either side seemed like a nice casual atmosphere. If you like Vietnamese food or want to try it for the first time, I would recommend Anise!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
You go to Italy for pasta, and you come to Anise for Spring Rolls - beef, to be ecstatic. Somewhere between classically hitting the spot and striking French dip vibes, these are simply divine in every mood. Come for a snack, take out some Pho.
google avatar

Terry C.

Yelp
What a wonderful Bahn Mi sandwich! I got the Deluxe, and it had a different mix of meats than I am familiar with, but it was delightful! Just yummy! I'll definitely come again when I'm in this part of town!
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
The food was amazing very interactive, creating your own spring roll was really fun. Definitely would recommend for a date night with your significant other. There's definitely a lot of it food with the platter. We brought some leftovers home. The service is amazing. They picked up the phone right away. The servers are very on top of it very friendly willing to have a conversation. I would definitely recommend this place if you're willing to be spontaneous and try something new.

Nancy M.

Yelp
It was very disappointing. Food was lukewarm, asked to Have it heated up and it came back very greasy. Music was annoying and I found a small hair in my food. Will not return and do not recommend.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Omg our servers were the friendliest! The vibes make me miss Asia even more! The food is a little bit on the pricey side but there are some cheaper options if you're on a budget. I'm also an aesthetic girly so I appreciate the food presentation too!

Yelp
Post-class and seeking to satisfy my pho craving, I made my way to Anise, Modern Vietnamese Eatery for all the noods, and it did not disappoint. Here's why: ++ Specials! Yeah, that's right, they offer a weekday lunch special from 11 am to 1:59 pm. It includes a fountain drink a crispy roll, and a selection from a list of entrées including banh mi, pho, lemongrass noodle, and more! ++ Banh Mi! Pure deliciousness right there! I think this was easily the best banh mi I've had. A perfectly crusty baguette smeared with Anise special butter piled high with Vietnamese hams, cilantro, pickled carrot, daikon, and cucumbers. ++ Pho! Pho-yeah the pho here is delicious. Everyone who likes pho knows the broth has to be just right. Well The broth here at Anise is a bit on the lighter side, but still packs a flavorful punch. Once I doctored it up with all the appropriate fixings, it was perfect. ++ Friendly! The service was super friendly and attentive during my visit. From the previous Yelp spotlight, I know that one of the smiling faces working was the owner. Love that type of care! Seeing that winter is soon to be upon us, I know I'll be making my way back to Anise, Modern Vietnamese Eatery for more of their tasty fare.
google avatar

Christin S.

Yelp
Great spot and super nice staff! We started with the roll platter - great variety and fillings. The rice roll wrappers on some were a little dry, but nothing some sauce can't fix! The surf and turf noodle bowl was by far our favorite - a ton of food, sooo flavorful, and the most incredible tender beef! The beef pho medium was a huge serving, and I am more used to the meet coming on the rare side so the pho cooks it. The broth was comforting and warm, perfect for an ice cold night. Will be back soon to try the lunch menu and banh mi's!

Yelp
Saw this restaurant on the Yelp Top 50 list and was in the area to give their dinner a try. Did not do my research on the menu before coming because had I done that I probably wouldn't have come. Walking in the first thing you see is the extensive bar options. The restaurant did not look anything out of the ordinary for being extra fancy, reminds me of most Vietnamese restaurants I've been to locally. I was asked to sit at the bar, probably because it was 7PM and they wanted to try to clean up easier.. but it was uncomfortable to be side eye by the bartender when I only wanted water for my beverage. I had the Lemongrass Chicken Bun that was $15.95 as it was the least expensive option. I believe it might be location driven, or maybe they were going for the upscale dining feel... I was interested in the fried rice but couldn't justify the $28 price tag (for fried rice?!) or the Lemongrass Combo as it was also about $28. Lemongrass Chicken Bun was tasty, never had it anywhere else that's similar to this but I usually just get the combo grilled meat bun elsewhere (they didn't have that here, only with lemongrass). I asked for hot sauce (sriracha would have been fine) and the gentleman said they have a house made one that was really spicy and if I am ok with super spicy hot sauce to try. I got really excited for their own hot sauce and it was habanero spicy. I was not informed of the $2 extra price tag for a hot sauce that came in a small dish that was about a teaspoon full, if that. I would probably still have tried it, just would have been nice to be informed. Understanding the inflation and the rising cost of ingredients... and the taste of the food.... they don't claim they use organic ingredients.... Not sure why the reviews are so high but I don't believe it's worth it to come back. 3 stars is being generous. Most great Elite reviews are about their lunch, maybe come for lunch specials....
google avatar

Joy Q.

Yelp
My favorites: Beef spring roll Lemongrass bowl with pork Chicken wings were so so. Curry was good but nothing special. This place is definitely much more pricey than the other Vietnamese restaurants. If you come here, make sure you get the not-so-common/traditional dishes. The lemongrass bowl was special and came in really generous portion
google avatar

jim m.

Yelp
Kind of "safe" Vietnamese food. My companions were happy with the veggie pho and the the shrimp spring rolls but I thought they were a little devoid of flavor. The bahn mi bites were nothing to write home about; just dry pieces of meat on unsauced bread slices. Service was accommodating but slow in the drink department. I would seek out alternatives next time around.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
// Summary Decent "modern" Vietnamese (whatever that means) that will scratch your itch for you. // Experience I ordered an eggroll and some pho, and everything tasted great. Wasn't necessarily the best pho I've had, but sometimes you just need to take what you can get with respect to Asian cuisine in Denver. // Service I was taken care of right away and my food came out pretty fast. // Ambiance They have plenty of indoor seating with a very clean vibe to it. They have some outdoor seating as well. There was a kid (I'm guessing the owner's kid) who was using a scooter and the "shoes with wheels" type of thing in the restaurant, which was a bit annoying. The restaurant wasn't busy and it was a late lunch - but still. // Convenience Doesn't seem to be much for parking other than some meters. Could be hard to find parking if it's busy.
google avatar

Phillip T.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was great. They charged me $2 for a small amount of extra siracha sauce.
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
Vietnamese food on the pricier side but still good! The banh mi was packed how I like it. Pho and vermicelli bowl was good. Ran by a Vietnamese father daughter and got the chance to speak with them. Hope they are doing well!
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I came here with two my friends for some pho some chicken fried rice and edamame. Arrived here when we left The Rockies game early. Across the street from 7 11. Service was not bad. Their chicken fried rice was $29 and for that portion and the taste was not worth it to me. Pho was decent. Overall not a bad joint, just OVERLY priced on items

Trevor W.

Yelp
I want to love this place based on the glowing reviews. I love pho and live very close, so I've tried Anise 3 times. Each time has been a disappointment. The pho broth is very bland and the veggies served on the side always look like they were cut several hours ago and have been sitting out. I eat pho often so maybe my expectations are too high, but it's some of the worst I've ever had. Service has also been consistently bad. Always seems like an inconvenience to the staff when I walk in. Not something I usually care too much about, especially in a casual pho spot, but solidifies the fact that I won't be returning.

Emma W.

Yelp
don't go to this place if you don't want your car towed/blocked in. me and my boyfriend parked behind the building in the alley lot and stopped into Evo before because they were closed still with INTENTION to go eat there after. When we got to our car to drop off the stuff we bought, the owner's car was blocking us in on purpose. we went in to ask him to move his car, and not only was he rude but also lied to us and said they were closed, when the "open" sign was lit up and people were dining inside. they're assholes.
google avatar

Sandy M.

Yelp
The crispy pork rolls were definitely the star of the meal! The pho was excellent too -- not the best pho I've ever had, but a nice hearty meal for a cold night in Denver. I appreciated how attentive the staff was too. Thanks for a great last meal during my time in Denver!

Yelp
Phenomenal Vietnamese food -- best in Denver, in my humble opinion. Great atmosphere. Caring and cool owner. A sexy spot that impresses.

Yelp
I've always drove by and never tried so decided to try right at open which is 4:30p the owner I think is telling us how the whole dining room is booked at 6p and we're like ok.... We won't eat that long. The menu is not huge. We started off with the chicken spring rolls which came with fish sauce, I asked for peanut sauce and they said they don't have any. Personally for me the fish sauce doesn't work with lightness of spring rolls. Next we got the grilled pork dinner and combo fried rice. The rice is really odd it's like a bunch of meats on top of rice not like a traditional fried rice with smaller meats and Vegis. I didn't love... the grilled pork dinner came with rice noodles carrots bean sprouts mint and cilantro it is what is usually served in a bowl at other Vietnamese and is their "noodle bowl" but without the cucumber and peanuts. The rice is pricy! $27 for a plate our total for just 3 things was $80. I much prefer maybe new Saigon or federal with traditional dishes.

Yelp
I am so happy to see a Vietnamese restaurant near downtown Denver. Anise deliver a good product and worthy of your dollars. I got the seared pork (they also have grilled) Bánh mì. The crunchy baguette was amazing and according to their website made in-house daily. I liked the picked cucumber, which had a sweet taste. They do pack it with a large amount carrots, cilantro, and jalapenos. The menu says there is also lettuce, but I did not see any. I am used to getting a creamy element to my bahn mi. Some restaurants will serve mayonnaise, but I prefer pate. My sandwich did not come with either and after doing some checking, I guess I needed to order the deluxe Bánh mì. While I was a little disappointed, the sandwich was still very good. I was surprised to get a bag of pita chips with my order. I also decided to try the sautéed vegetables. They were good, but not my favorite.

Yelp
Great authentic fresh Vietnamese food. Had the Banh Mi Bites, Cha Gio, Banh Xeo, and Wrap Platter - all very fresh and tasty. Always appreciate a Vietnamese restaurant that does things other than Pho, and does them well. One of the better examples I've had in all of Denver. Friendly service too. Will be back!

Yelp
The lemongrass noodle bowl with chicken was on my radar ever since I saw somebody post a picture of it on Yelp a while back. I finally made it over to Anise a few weeks ago, and I was hoping the lemongrass noodle bowl lived up to the hype I created for it.... It certainly did! Each component of the bowl (the noodles, chicken, various veggies, peanuts) had great flavor on its own, but when mixed together, they really make something special! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the noodles were not soggy, and the cucumbers and carrots had a nice crunch, even after their journey home in a take out container. I got a solid three meals out of this one entree -- the portion size was massive! At the time I stopped by Anise for pickup, the patio was open, but on a cold and snowy day, it was too cold to sit outside. The manager did mention that the restaurant had purchased heaters on backorder, so hopefully they have made their way to the patio!

Yelp
Very casual; like most Vietnamese restaurants and terrific; also like many Vietnamese restaurants! From the spring rolls (veg) to the bahn mi bites for starters, to the sauté greens, stirfry, to the wraps- YUM! All was delish. To be clear, it's not just vegetarian- we had all the protein options except beef. It was great. No pressure for a reservation (for now anyway! And the service was terrific! I'm happy to give them a boost. Go.
