The 38 Best Restaurants in Seoul, South Korea

"Open for: Lunch through late night Price range: $$ When a restaurant advertises itself as a “landmark,” it’s almost always a letdown, but the claim is justified in the case of Anju Maeul. The cozy wooden space is always full of drinkers, and there used to be an eternal line of people waiting for their turn by the door; there’s now a kiosk that takes reservations and alerts you via text. The star on the handwritten menu is seasonal seafood. Be sure to try the seasonal sashimi, and the tofu topped with salted herring roe is a fan favorite. Know before you go: Don’t hold back when you order; some items sell out in minutes, so you may not have a second chance." - Matty Kim

It’s very hard to get a seat here. We signed up around 3 in the afternoon and we were seated at 930 in the evening. So be prepared. Both dishes we tried were really delicious and I would definitely go back to try more in the future.

Great food, good service. The foods were cooked greatly - especially steamed squid. Great taste and texture. Will come back here again just for the steamed squid. The queue is really long tho - I got here at 5pm on a Friday and had to wait for 4 hours just to get in. However, it was totally worth the waiting. Highly recommend!

Small space with good pricey food (but then...bar seafood is usually this pricey). We had 4 menu that went real well with soju. I would go back but dont think would wait in line for this necessarily.

Best place to eat in seoul! Family restaurant I was welcomed warmly, They offered me food and drink as I was a traveler!!! I had a bowl with rice vegetables eggs, nokdu bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) , potato pancakes 😍 then some raw fish (amazing); I tried the Makgeolli drink (made of rice) and it was nice!!

Too small quantity considering the price. Uncomfortable space.

Food is not great, not bad, just okay-- not really worth waiting for more than a couple of hours... It's all about hype.

We were on the remote wait list since 3PM … we showed up at 7:30pm to be told we would never get a seat that evening 😂 … what’s the point of a remote wait list ?
