It is sad to see the decline of Ann's.
We are long-time patrons (5 years, visited at least twice a week, spent a total of over $10K excluding flowers) and truly used to love the place. The atmosphere is lovely. The servers are so friendly and kind (David and Mila in particular 🐶). The location can't be beat for the Las Olas/Beverly Heights crowd.
But things at Ann's have changed. This morning, we were there for about a half hour, and in that time we overheard 5 people being told the food they wanted wasn't available. And, we saw 2 large parties (6 people each) come in and quickly leave because they weren't greeted/directed (they were visitors, they didn't know the ropes).
The food thing is not new. We actually have a running joke about how many things we'll have to order before we find one that's actually available.
Not sure if the second piece (failing to seat desirable parties) is new or not, but, if Beth had still been helming the place I am guessing you would have been ringing the cash register with those 2 large parties.
I'm not sure what the best fixes are for you, but here are a few free suggestions:
- Find a food supplier who can actually make enough food. Order adequate food quantities from them.
- Re-introduce a manager, or, at least add another server for the front area (this is where most folks enter).
My hypothesis is, the business owns the building, thus isn't nearly as hard pressed for revenue as other Las Olas businesses like Starbucks are. Maybe due to this you just don't have to care. If this is the case - I'm sorry to hear it, we used to really love your place.
