Anoush’ella is a vibrant South End gem serving up beloved Armenian-Lebanese fare with fresh m’anoush flatbreads, flavorful mezze, and hearty grain bowls.
"Eastern Mediterranean spot Anoush’ella in the South End is a consistent go-to for takeout or delivery orders of chicken za’atar and falafel wraps, grain bowls with couscous, lentils, and rice, and a must-try savory or sweet labne bar." - Erika Adams
"When you don’t have a lot of money to spend, brunch is usually the first meal that goes on the chopping block. Eggs, pancakes, and bottomless mimosas are all things you can make at home, where you don’t have to wait on the sidewalk for 30 minutes dodging strollers and yoga mats that are being swung around like clubs. But brunch at Anoush’ella is different. For one thing, this is an order-at-the-counter place, and every entree on the brunch menu is under $11. And for another, you probably don’t make your omelettes with za’atar and pickled turnip, or cook your fava beans overnight to make a bowl of ful that you’ll want to dip just about everything in. Come to this Eastern Mediterranean spot in the South End when you want to start a weekend day off right but keep enough money in your wallet to end it the right way, too." - dan secatore
"We daydream about fast-casual lunches sometimes - that crazy concept where we could walk into a crowded place, order food in line, consume it in a cramped booth, and then go back to work, all within the span of 15 minutes. While we wait for such creature comforts to return, we’re still ordering takeout and delivery from anoush’ella, the counter-service Lebanese spot in the South End. Their flatbreads, in particular, are pretty good - we recommend either the lentil kofta or the sabich (with grilled eggplant and hummus)." - joel ang
"I try to mix up what I order from Anoush’ella — which is often — and everything I’ve had so far is just stellar. I usually get a wrap, like the lamajun, which is minced beef and lamb, or the kofta, and then a bunch of other goodies to snack on for a few days. The feta with walnut harissa is so silky, and the fattoush is nice and bright thanks to the mint. Do yourself a favor and get the Nutella chocolate sweet m’anoush, too. —Nathan Tavares" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Terrence Doyle, Nathan Tavares, Karen Wilber
"Anoush’ella’s Mother’s Day menu for two ($100) includes an array of mezze (harissa spiced olives, stuffed grape leaves, and more), salad, grilled halibut, beef and eggplant kebabs, a spicy potato side, and rice pudding." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
