The 18 Best Saint-Martin Restaurants - Eater

"The Anse Marcel Beach resort teleports guests to the French Riviera. Tastefully sized yachts are moored in the azure bay, sunbathers bronze on chaise longues, and tan umbrellas flutter in the breeze. Owner Jean-Pierre Pisoni, a native of Cannes, created a restaurant to complete the experience. The open dining area feels like a grand airy cabana where every table has an ocean view. Start with a glass of Château Puech-Haut Argali Rosé and olive tapenade crostini that firmly places the flavors in the South of France. Then dive into local white fish tartare dotted with kumquats and seaweed or a selection of French cheeses, before splurging on a local spiny lobster picked from a mod vertical tank, tenderly roasted, and paired with melted butter. The drive over the hill to Anse Marcel is quite scenic, so get your camera ready. [$$$$]" - Maria C. Hunt

I spent a wonderful day at the beach and enjoyed a delicious lunch at this beautiful resort. If you're planning to rent chairs in the front row by the sea, be sure to book in advance—same goes for reserving a table at the restaurant. Beach chairs cost €30 for two. The food was absolutely fantastic! I especially loved the linguine with lobster, which I savored while taking in the stunning views. There’s also a kids’ menu and plenty of ice cream options. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained, and there’s even a small but super handy shower right on the beach. A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it!

Came here to the resort last year and the beach was amazing and clean. I tried twice to come this week on the week of Jan 12 to spend the day but had to turn back and go elsewhere. The beach in front of the resort was full of accumulated and smelling seaweed. They don’t seem to pick it up every day. Beach chairs were sitting among 6 inch to a feet thick piles of seaweed on both occasions. Just facts.

I would stay away if not staying there . The bartender and beach staff are not nice at all, we did not impose and had a beach towel near rocks, not on grounds. They think they own the world, not nice people, we had to move. It's one things if we used services, but we were respectful and were just snorkling.

We didn't stay at the resort but we visited the beach twice during our stay on the island. Amazing spot, incredible service, super comfy lounge couches directly on the beach. It ended being my favorite beach we visited.

Beautiful location on Anse Marcel beach. There is a marina next door with shops, at least three restaurants and a hotel. The rooms are large. There is a separate soaking tub, which could easily accommodate two, from the shower. The water gets nice and hot quickly. The beds are comfortable. The views are outstanding, but so are the blackout drapes which let us sleep in when we wanted. I especially appreciated the kitchenette, which was mostly stocked. The only thing lacking was a spatula. The mini fridge was big enough to hold our food and beverage items. The rooms come with a generous balcony overlooking the bay, which is nice to sit on while having a glass of wine at the end of the day. The restaurant serves an enormous breakfast for €16. Full basket of different breads and pastries, a large fruit platter, cheese and ham platter, and eggs prepared to order. I had the omelette, which was delicious. I felt bad leaving some of the food but I was so full! Now, the best part is the lunch. Gourmet meals perfectly cooked and delivered beautifully plated. These meals far exceeded our expectations. Then you have the beautiful, peaceful beach and pool. There is also a spa and salon and a nice boutique with cute clothes and accessories. We highly recommend this resort and plan to come back.

Ans Marcel is the most beautiful scenery in St Maarten in my opinion. The beach resort is a good addition with cozy cabana’s and tables nicely set under a pergola. The menu is straightforward with some french classics front and center. The burrata was a refreshing touch. The scallops and burger were lovely. Can’t go wrong with this spot but it is pricey. Still think it is worth it.

We have been coming here for few years and it is getting worse for food and service. They are outright rude. It is run by this lady Lorraine. Her staff is condescending and rude. Since the chef left in 2022 they had the same menu. Way overpriced for what you get. I did not mine when the they had a chef. The beach staff is rude most of the time. Please do not eat here. They know they are the only game in the place and people have no choice.
