On the overheard recommendation of a co-worker, a group of us decided to try Antepli. The group of us including a friend who **is** Turkish. They said it was legit good and the only criticism was it wasn't literally their mom cooking. Can't get much higher praise than it makes you think of mom's cooking.
We got lentil soup, babaganoush, lahmacun, su boregi, cheese rolls, lamb adana, beyti, iskender, ayra, turkish coffee, tea, kuzu sis, a couple kinds of baklava, sutluc, and special kunefe with a slice of Turkish ice cream. The bread that came with for dipping or eating was amazing and delicious and comes warm.
If you have never had Turkish ice cream, you should try this. It is a very different texture and it's delicious. I also have to say that their kunefe was incredible. Super crispy, buttery vermicelli, melty cheese, and very good pistachios. Plenty of syrup on it, too.
Food came out quickly and regularly, they left a whole bottle of water right on the table and refilled if we needed, and eventually left several bottles for us; and they answered everybody's questions. Really nice people, super service.
Can't split checks, so be prepared. The menu said they add a gratuity for groups but they hadn't on our check. We would have tipped more than that, in any case. They have a dessert case up front full of tempting and delicious things. Plus, they are right next door to a grocery that looks like it carries all the ingredients to make this food and then some.
Lastly, I think this restaurant is alcohol free and halal. Which is important if someone needs that option.
