Overall, the cookies were delicious, but not the best I've had in SF area.
I'm primarily a chocolate chip cookie monster, but the best flavors here were probably toffee chip and cookies and cream (4.5*), both appropriately not as sweet & processed as expected, like flavors can be with other bakeries/brands. Chocolate chip & dark choco chip were okay, a bit below expectations (3.5*). Chocolate covered peanut butter was drier than expected (3*).
I had decided what I wanted beforehand, to minimize thinking time in store, so I planned to call in my order. I tried calling 3x throughout the day, but there was no pickup, machine advised to leave a voicemail, but the inbox was full, and so the call auto hung up. Guess I had to order in person. Got there by 6:00pm, there was no line. The lady who took my order was overall stern, said there was no German chocolate, and I guess also ordered the last 2 toffee chip cookies. Being a first timer here and needing to modify my original order, I may have had more questions than a regular customer. She wasn't clearly impatient, but wasn't welcoming either; some of my questions were simply unanswered as I awkwardly stood there waiting. The vibe was that she didn't really like her job.
As I waited while she packed my cookies, I noticed she pushed something on the tablet that increased the cost. That was strange, but I guess she was probably logging the cookies as she packed them, I thought. Turns out I was wrong. I checked my e-receipt later and noticed I got an extra charge for two 2 oz cookies ($10 total) that I didn't order, equal to being charged for an extra 5 regular cookies! I ordered 16 cookies, but basically got charged for 21. I mean, I wouldn't mind if she added in those extra cookies since I was charged for it so I at least got what I paid for, but this was just sneaky and cheap. I didn't notice this until after I had left. Calling them probably wouldn't go through, and driving there is far and inconvenient from my home, so I just let it slide in bitterness.
P.S. each paper box has a 75 cent charge, something I also didn't expect.
When I left the bakery, this guy outside with a nice bright aura smiled and told me to have a nice day. It was quite the contrasting feeling. He had a nice bright aura. I believe it was the owner Anthony. If the ordering process felt warm & welcoming like this, the cookies probably would've tasted even better.
