The 17 Essential Seville Restaurants

"Unless you befriend a local, this is as close as you’ll come to eating in a Spanish home. Owner Ramón López initially opened his shop as an abacería (a wine store offering packaged foods and a few quick bites), but he and his family have since expanded to serve a full menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant’s cozy ambience and the family’s dedication to quality sourcing have made Antigua Abacería an icon in the San Lorenzo neighborhood. Order a montadito de chorizo picante y cabrales (a sandwich with spicy chorizo and Asturian blue cheese) with a glass of sherry, and take your meal outside onto the quiet patio. Or step inside the cozy corner restaurant for “Lo que diga Ramón” and let López choose your meal for you." - Megan Lloyd

Wow, what an amazing place. Our favourite meal in Seville by far. Really recommend the meat and cheese board and also the cod in tomato sauce.

Me and my boyfriend have been here twice. The employees work very hard and are there when you want to order something. The food (we have ordered a lot of different dishes) is amazing, very good! The ambience is very nice, not touristic at all. The locals are also enjoying this place. The interior is food oriented and feels very homely. Just great!

The place is designed beautifully. A great atmosphere packed with stuff.

This is an amazing authentic place for locals which is situated aside from touristic lanes (still in 20 mins of relaxed walking from the cathedral) and therefore is not crowded by tourists. Nevertheless there are a lot of customers in this small restaurant and this place is very vibrant. I especially like its atmosphere as well as food and drinks. The owners are very friendly. I truly enjoyed eveything in this place!

You either love it or hate it here. We fell in love for sure. I can't remember the last time we've been to a place with so much character! It's very small, but their hearts and smiles are very big, so were our bellies when we finished eating. The quality / price ratio is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

Beautifully rustic place with some of the best food I've had in Sevilla. Come during lunch hour but be prepared to wait. Usual caveats about eating out in Sevilla, be prepared to work at the pace of your server. Otherwise their staff can be attentive and recommend some seriously special daily dishes. Pretty much everything is recommended here with how good it tastes but I particularly like their Huevos de Ramon and any of their iberico dishes.

The real sevillian experience! I highly recommend this place: one of the most authentic tapas restaurant in Seville. The staff (runned by a family) couldn't be so helpful, smiling all time and trying to get a space for us despite was 23.40h at night! Perfect ibericus ham, local river fish (catch of the day) and the best croquettes ever!!!! Sooo yummy, sooo nice and so authentic!!!

We came for breakfast and were delighted by the scrumptious traditional Sevilla sandwiches, charming decor, and surprisingly reasonable prices.

Yelp
Plus: Refined traditional dishes with a sophisticated twist. Wide selection of wines, several "platos del dia". And The food is really good and different than what you will get in most of the touristic bars! Drawbacks: Priority to locals. Staff are either ultra friendly or extra rude, depending on your luck! We were sent to a back table because our group had people who looked American/British. But we got the kudos again thanks to my broken Spanish and Mediterranean looks. So good luck if they felt you are a "gringo"(i.e. anglophone tourist who wants to have ordinary wines and tapas).

Yelp
Even though I don't speak Spanish, the owner made me feel at home at this restaurant. They served some tapas on platters while we waited for our table upstairs. The whole restaurant makes you feel like you're sitting inside someone's house for dinner. The small kitchen upstairs had two women cooking on a few burners. I was completely amazed at how well the food came out of such a small work area. The special of the day was a bull meat burger with foi pate inside; complimented with caramelized onion sauce and potatos. It was impeccable! If it's ever the daily special, I highly suggest ordering it.

Yelp
This place was fabulous. Authentic. Cozy. We did not have a reservation. Arrived 7pm on a Monday night. It helped that I knew a little Spanish. Esther and Maria were so helpful and kind. My husband and I ordered the chefs special for 2. Sausage. Potato salad. Croquettes. Stew. Hamburger from bulls meat. And more. So much food. Friends got salad. Egg dish and a leek and cheese dish. Amazing. Wine was flowing. Staff was accommodating and patient. Not touristy at all. Highly recommend for authentic experience.

Yelp
We ate here for lunch our first day in Sevilla. We ordered "lo que diga Ramon" and received a ton of food. Some of it was great; some was kind of ordinary. As the other reviews indicate, this place is very atmospheric with every square inch of the walls and ceiling covered with stuff. It is a fun place to visit, but the food is not fancy. Great place to go if you are really hungry and value calories over flavors.
