The service is great! I order the Ultimate Antigua and the meat is a little tough to chew. The Cappuccino is on point ! My daughter had the Chicken Avocado Burger 🍔 it’s good but the chicken could use less seasoning. The tables on the outside patio should get fixed as they wobble too much.

Google
My sister and I went to have breakfast here before exploring LA and it was delicious! The restaurant was clean and not too loud. The front cashier was really sweet and recommended a few things to us. The coffee was delicious and so was the food! I had the caramel mocha latte and the Antigua breakfast. My sister had the breakfast Chapin. We ate it all! It was a great spot for breakfast or even lunch as they had outside seating too.

Google
The term “hidden gem” is thrown around often for restaurants in LA, and while I would want to use it here, Antigua Bread is anything but hidden for folks who are familiar with the spot. With a diverse menu filled with options for all diets and tastes, rich coffees and drinks, this is a spot that you’ll find yourself returning to often after you first visit. The quality of the food, service, and overall atmosphere really helps set this place apart from other LA restaurants, and if you’re looking for a new restaurant to become a regular spot, this is absolutely the place.

Have been here a couple of times, and the food is always delicious, it never disappoints 👍you can have from sandwiches to an original breakfast at a fair price.

Google
Got the ultimate Antigua breakfast with tortillas. Everything about it was amazing. The beans: perfect. The steak: perfect. And the salsa was a mild savory red salsa that has some sort of spice to it that was other worldly. Highly recommend.

Google
Saw a photo for a fish sandwich. Looked great in the photo, not so much in person. Photo had nice looking waffle fries, but came with these skinny ones. Fish seems like a regular square frozen patty from the grocery store. Taste wasn’t bad, but definitely wasn’t a $15 sandwich quality. Had a latte with it, that was pretty good. Spent $22 overall with tip. If it would’ve been $15 total, it’d be 5 stars. But it was just average

Google
All breakfast choices are so good. Decided to try some lunch items today. Best nachos I've tasted. Tortilla chips are freshly fried! Plantain with beans and cream really good too. Oh! And their strawberry lemonade so good.

Google
I like this place for raspberry vanilla latte and some of their pastry. Music inside is good, I like most of tracks that I heard on my last visit here. Stuff is friendly and can make a recommendation to those who can't make a choice by their own :) Outside tables and sits are available, so you have a choice - to seat inside or outside the building. No parking (or I didn't noticed any). I would come back here, but I would not order any pasta any more)) will try something else. Bill is medium. Atmosphere is cosy. 7-8 tables are available. P.S. I forgot to mention about their check-in special! You can check-in through Yelp and get 1 free item of Guatemalan pastry!

Yelp
I can only review for the Breakfast here, but it's one of my fav spots in the area. Mayan breakfast is my fav,but they have lots of good options. Def not a hipster spot with gluten free lattes, but solid options for non fussy folks.

Arturo T.

Yelp
Holy moly the freaken chicken fettuccine Alfredo is level god tier. Took my little family here this Wednesday afternoon. Plenty of space to sit down. The music was great. Bathroom was clean. The woman at the cashier was genuinely nice. You know how you know when you're getting the "fake" service voice that most places give you just cause it's part of their job? Well this woman's service and suggestions actually felt genuine which is rare for me. I had to tip no doubt! To put it simply in one sentence: I felt like i was in someone's house in Guatemala and they took care of me. 10/10 will be coming back

belinda n.

Yelp
Meter/ low cost parking in lot and street. Public bathroom. Lots of tables (including outdoors , & covered!) Professional hospitable staff. Standard coffee prices. They served so much dairy free milk for my coffee I took it home w/me ;) Lots of food options. Will definitely return & recommend !

Yelp
Antigua Bread is conveniently located across from the historic Highland Theater on Figueroa. I ran across the street to get a coffee, and decided to get a small snack. For some reason, I decided to try the Breakfast Sandwich (wrong choice!). It had ham, egg and cheddar cheese with breakfast potatoes. It came with white bread! The order taker did not ask what kind of bread I'd like--- I most definitely would've requested wheat bread! It was okay, and I ate it. It was a bit dry. Potatoes were okay. Wouldn't order again. But the ambience, decor and upbeat vibe were all great. Latin music provided a nice atmosphere. There is also a nice outdoor patio in front with seating that is nice. This cafe has been here for years, and we've been here many times. Although I had not been here for a very long time. There is also parking in the lot behind the cafe. I'd still recommend giving Antigua Bread a try if you're in the area.

Griselda S.

Yelp
I was missing Guatemala and really trying to reminisce on my time in Antigua so I stopped by to have breakfast here. It's such a lively and nice brunch spot. The decor is nice they have various Guatemalan decorations and even have a section where they sell artisan things from Guatemala. The smell of their coffee takes me straight to Guatemala. The food was delicious. I ordered their red chilaquiles which they were super spicy so I was dying but I loved them!! The servers were are so friendly and very attentive. Would recommend this place to anyone craving some Guatemalan food.

Yelp
After weeks of chilly weather, it was finally a warm day in "Sunny" SoCal so I decided to venture out for a walk around the neighborhood. I was surprised to see several new stores had recently opened. You tend to miss things when driving. After a while I was thirsty, so I popped into Antigua Bread for something cold to drink. Antigua is a Guatemalan-American bakery/café. Whenever I drive by there are always people sitting out on the patio so I figured it must be good. In addition to coffee and baked delights you can also enjoy breakfast dishes, regional specialties, salads, sandwiches, & burgers. Bakery items go quickly so it's best to get there early. I arrived around 1 p.m. and there were only a few pastries left. I spotted a coffee cake, so I ordered that since it was National Coffee Cake Day. I also got an Iced Tea (small $2.50). The young man that assisted me was very friendly. The tea was unsweetened, and it didn't need any sugar. I could taste a hint of fruit. Peach perhaps? I wasn't sure. It was tasty, refreshing, and perfect as is. The Coffee Cake was more like a loaf bread. The serving size was very generous for $3.50. It was moist & tender. It had a crumb topping with a chocolate and icing drizzle that added a hint of sweetness. I'm not sure why it took me so long to check this place out, but I'll be back to try one of their signature lattes and a veggie burrito. *Breakfast served all day. *Metered street parking and parking lot in back

Yelp
By far one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches I've had in LA. Potato were perfectly seasoned and the bread was very soft. Very homie ambiance; they even decorated for Xmas with Xmas tree included. Service was friendly and helpful.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Delicious!! My husband and I stumbled upon this place and decided to try it. We asked for recommendations and the cashier was helpful! Wanted outdoor seating but it was all taken. Inside is nice too and I love their Antigua Bread painting on the wall. Pricing is a bit high but it is also kinda average with inflation these days ($15 for one plate). We ordered the Ultimate Antigua (upon recommendation) with steak, eggs, onions, two tomato slices, plantains, bread, and beans. It really surprised me and the steak was SO TASTY!! You can see from my pictures, we licked the plate clean because the flavor was so good!!! We both want to come back! One plate to share was not enough!

Grace M.

Yelp
Food was good and service was great. We went before they opened so we found seats. It's usually busy in there and we would have to wait for seats. Good is good as usual. I got the chilaquiles with steak. Green sauce... is not spicy, the red sauce is spicy spicy lol. Still good!

Milo A.

Yelp
Usually my favorite for chilaquiles but quality seems to be going down. Juice wasn't fresh, order was incorrect. Hope it was just a bad day.

Roxana V.

Yelp
Antigua Bread makes the best breakfast in HP. I've been going for years and they never disappoint. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and gives a lovely homey vibe. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend Antigua Bread if you're in this side of town.

Scott M.

Yelp
I highly recommend this local restaurant! Looking for a breakfast at 11:30 AM and the first restaurant I went to had a line out the door. So I googled a breakfast location nearby and came up with Antigua bread, bakery Café on Figueroa. I ordered the Spanish omelette which came with potatoes topped with avocado and toast. I also had fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was cooked properly, most restaurant cooks don't know how to cook eggs. They are usually overcooked, spongy, or burned. I was impressed with the seasoning too. I will always check out the pastries if I am enjoying the service and feel respected and welcomed. This morning I was extremely impressed by the Polite customer service with no attitude, this led me to buy a blueberry muffin, and two slices of pastry cake which also tasted amazing. I will always do this to great businesses that treat me well, it's my way of saying thank you. The restaurant itself was clean had a nice design. Had plenty of room and tables and had really nice music playing the whole time. So thank you to everyone at Antigua bread, bakery Café. Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Long overdue of my favorite breakfast spot! I literally order from here atleast once a week on Sunday mornings. The chilaquiles rojo with steak is the best I've ever had. I have tried them everywhere and they don't compare!! They are always busy so order online ahead of time. The only con for me would be that they don't ever answer the phones but they still deserve all the stars!

Ki R.

Yelp
Love this place! I have been here several times since living in the area previously in Monterey Hills across the 110 freeway. Coffees are great, and the food is even better. I have only ordered their breakfasts, which some can be eatin as lunches like their asada plate, burritos and chilaqulies. The pan dulce breads are fantastic as well. I like fried bananas, but some of you may not. Delicious! Enjoy...

Jennifer L.

Yelp
This place is great. The salad portion was huge, fresh, grilled with chicken for $15 and it comes with warm garlic bread. The wifi is strong. Service is nice. Wonderful, local spot - I will definitely be back. Y'all complaining about pricing are on crack.

Jo C.

Yelp
So happy to find a restaurant that sells Guatemalan tamales . For those of you who haven't tried them yet, you gotta try them; very moist and tender. I love the extra acidity from the olive hidden in there, totally balances out the pork. The chilaquiles is bomb ! The carne asada is so juicy and savory and when mixed with the chips which are half crispy and half soaked with the essence of the green sauce, the best carne asada and chilaquiles ever!!! So excited to share my experience with everyone!!!

Mary A.

Yelp
Cozy and welcoming spot in Highland park. Food is on point and authentic. Lived the choices , taste and presentation. Will be baxk often. I got the chilaquiles, woth blaxk beans and I added sour cream.

Yezy M.

Yelp
This place is affordable, but the black beans are from a can... Platanos fritos.- sweet! Great service.

Reyna M.

Yelp
We came here and the atmosphere was chill and the soft music was playing . Right away felt like home. We had the cafe mixto with mocha . Best best cafe mixto I have ever had. Not to mention their pastries. 10/10 will definitely be coming back here. The girls at the counter were super nice and recommended the cafe mixto.

Jasmine E.

Yelp
My fav breakfast burrito in LA with a great staff and delicious drinks. Always a solid breakfast stop in highland park

Sasha H.

Yelp
Although I have ordered from this place online before, I was eager to try it out in person. I loved the atmosphere and the service. Their bread is simply delicious! Amongst all the yummy things they serve, my top pick is their raspberry vanilla latte with oat milk.

Jeni R.

Yelp
Cute, casual little place with a back and front patio. More importantly the food. Hands down the best chilequilles in LA! The red sauce is so spicy and tasty it makes it hard to stop eating. I've literally never tried anything else because the chilequilles is all I will ever need. They also have amazing iced coffee that is smooth and not bitter, even without creamer or anything added. I also hear they have great breakfast burritos. It gets busy and I hope it stays that way because that means more chilequilles for me in the future. Hope this place never changes!

Shawn G.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time last weekend. They were super busy so allow plenty of time if you go. What part of town: Highland Park Description of what I ordered: Breakfast Chapin and Guatemalan tamales Delicious!

Arwa A.

Yelp
I found LA to be fairly underwhelming, but this place made my experience. This is a small Guatemalan inspired cafe which doesn't look like much, but it was full of people and the food was incredible. I wasn't sure what to expect, but my friend and I split a steak and egg burrito and the steak chilliquillas. The burrito was just okay, but the chilliquillas were amazing. 10/10. There was just so much flavor, and the tortillas weren't soggy like they can be other places I've tried. It was very authentic. I also ordered a vanilla bean latte and you could really taste the difference in the espresso. Menu had plenty of options, and it was fairly priced. I highly recommend it.

J B.

Yelp
Delightful and affordable breakfast with eggs just right. Casual interior with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Quick, friendly service. Tortillas were a bit of a miss, but that was the only flaw.

Horlenes F.

Yelp
As someone who is Guatemalan, I was extremely disappointed in the food and drinks I had during my visit. I came to antigua bread because I was feeling homesick but it didn't make me feel any better. I think the big issue with a lot of restaurants that imitate certain cultures is that they want to mold into an American pallet. I ordered a hazelnut latte, which turned out to be extremely sweet and the coffee did not taste authentic at all. I also tried their new Mayan burger that was extremely soggy and fullll of relish. Not once have I tried anything like that in Guatemala. I wish it would stick to the true tastes, and culture of Antigua.

Bex Q.

Yelp
So we all know I can't enjoy flour tortillas, so I was super excited when I saw their sign advertising Barbacoa Burrito Bowls. If you are gluten free make sure to ask them not to put the tortilla at the bottom. It didn't register that they would. I had the Barbacoa bowl and it was bomb. As I write this review I'm sitting outside in the shade and enjoying their music, with the sounds of Figueroa just far enough away. Staff is friendly, they are covid compliant and the food is good/cheap. From time to time I have walked here for coffee too which hits the spot.

Dennise A.

Yelp
Visited on New Year's Eve. We expected a little more flavor. Maybe I'm being a little hypocritical, but I truly expected a little more. Food is average. We ordered the breakfast platter with black beans, eggs, plantains and two Chuchitos aka corn husk tamales. The chicken was better than "vegetarian" option ( frijol con chipilin) it was dry and flavorless. Again, I'm used to true Guatemalan flavors. Coffee was good and the sweet bread was delicious. The ambiance was nice, seating inside and out. Staff is friendly.

Jessie S.

Yelp
Lovely service, very generous portions, delicious food, great coffee, just an excellent neighborhood spot for brunch, lunch, etc.

Joseline S.

Yelp
I really wish I would of found this place pre covid. It's such a cute coffee shop and the food they sell here looks so good. I stopped by for a quick coffee, I ordered a mocha latte blended and it was really good. When I came it was during the time they were doing outdoor dining and looking at other peoples food made me want to come eat here but they closed outdoor dinning before I could go again. The staff was really nice and friendly. Parking: they have street parking available just wake sure you pay the meter so you don't get a ticket.

Paul S.

Yelp
Great food. Likes aren't long, and the service is great. They have front patio section, indoor section and back patio.

Laura E.

Yelp
Want a classic breakfast meal? Fresh baking goods? Want delicious coffee? This place has it all. Also, have you tried their Mayan burger? YOU MUST! That's all I gotta say.

Joan B.

Yelp
The coffee is exquisite! What a wonderful surprise to find authentic Guatemalan coffee and food in South Pasadena. I couldn't more highly recommend!

Jannette C.

Yelp
The food is excellent and customer service too! I was there on Saturday morning and dropped my food on the way out. Without a word they replaced my meal. I felt horrible because I made the mess. I am very grateful to them, they have no idea how that act of kindness made my day. I'm dealing with my mom in hospice and was taking her Champurrada cookies hoping she might want to eat. When I dropped my food I almost cried. It's all a little too much. I appreciate how nice they were. For anyone reading this please treat others with kindness. You have no idea what people are dealing with. Thanks Antigua Bread

Stephanie c.

Yelp
Everything was very fresh and delicious! Best breakfast in town. Highly recommend. Yum!

H M.

Yelp
Had the veggie burrito and it was GOOD. Really good mix of mushrooms and olives and potatoes. I'll be going back!

Rosa E.

Yelp
Meat was hard food seemed a couple days old feries were hard and cold and brown the chicken tenders was hard

Rob R.

Yelp
This a review for lunchtime on Wednesday at 2:30pm. The place was fairly empty with maybe three other tables seated. This was our first time here. We ordered two sandwiches (steak torta and a tuna melt). We both asked for waters. The young man at the register was nice although he seemed under-enthused. He thanked us and said, "I'll be right out with your waters". He never brought the waters even though we were sitting just about 10 ft from him. The food came out 25 minutes after we ordered. It is a long wait for sandwiches and fries when the place is empty. The same young man who took our order brought us our food. He didn't mention the wait. I asked him again, "can we have two waters?" He didn't seem to register that we had already ordered water and instead acknowledged it as if it was the first time he had heard it. Guess what? He a still didn't bring any waters. Instead he sat in the corner on his phone. We finished our food which was good. Finally my wife went to the register and asked again for the water which we drank as our dessert. In summary: sandwiches are good. Wait time for food is a little long. Staff at register is not up to the job.

Alex O C.

Yelp
It's Mexican food. I thought it was Guatemalan but noooo. Everything is extra. Bad. Food

Juanita M.

Yelp
My friend and I ordered breakfast and coffee. Not only did they get her order wrong, they never brought me my coffee. When I went to ask about it, I was told I was not charged for one. The guy that took our order repeated it 2 times and we confirmed. No apology was given. They have a very rude way of dealing with their own mistakes.

Diana S.

Yelp
I really love this place. Great pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. Today it exceeded my expectations when a mistake was made, and my order was lost. (I have 15 years service experience - it happens!) They were soooo kind and gave me a platter of pastries. Its so great to sit in a real neighborhood place that's about the people, the food, and the love. Will always keep coming back.

Miguel G.

Yelp
First time here, completely happy with both the food and service! Had me chilaquiles con carne, it just Devine! Full of flavor! You young lady that tended us, extremely courteous and accommodating. Thank you guys, Great Job!!

Zach H.

Yelp
Epic spot for sandwiches and breakfast. Street parking. Don't forget yelp check in for a complimentary treat. Amazing staff!

Shelley W.

Yelp
Came here to grab a quick bite before my yoga class and it was sooo good! I ordered the Tuna Sandwich that came with a side of fries and it did not disappoint. Portion was generous and I loveee the bread they use. Wasn't too hard but just chewy enough to give the sandwich some texture. It comes with mustard (not a fan of) but you really can't taste it! I believe this place offers WiFi so it would be a nice place to get some work done. Workers had masks on and they offer indoor/outdoor seating. Also the Spanish guitar playing in the background was a nice touch

Theresa S.

Yelp
Omg! So tasty! I got the Antigua chicken soup which is loaded with vegetables, cheese noodles and awesome broth and comes with a tasty chicken breast and half a plate of delicious rice on the side. Everything was perfectly seasoned. I ate it before remembering to take a picture. The coffee selection is great and everyone there is super nice. The food is made fresh and comes out extremely hot (a compliment) so leave some time and eat-in. I plan to try everything on the menu!

Donys R.

Yelp
Yeah very disappointed, it used to be on of my favorite place to go eat but the last 2 times were bad, the customer service ambas gone down, the prices have gone up and the portions are about half of what they used to serve, I understand we're living in a very bad situation with the prices that have gone up so bad, but come on if you raise the prices at least leave the portions of the food the same and on top of everything if you want to replace one thing of your plate they charge almost as double as they used to, come on all you're doing is scaring customers away, if I choose to go eat and pay your prices, the least that I expect is a good customer service and if you gonna charge extra for an item at least make it worth paying for it..

Mattan C.

Yelp
Boring and tasteless with cheap ingredients and waaay overpriced. Couldn't even finish the meal. Late was pretty good though

Liam M.

Yelp
We go here a lot for takeout breakfast. The manager at the El Sereno store always has it on point. We ordered two breakfasts and a breakfast burrito at 10:51 am from the Fig store. We didn't get our food until 11:40am. The order was wrong (one breakfast and one burrito) and the plantains are dry and inedible. And the woman at the counter broke the first rule of service by pushing back when I told her how behind they were (they clearly didn't fire the order until we got to the store and paid.) Boo. Don't open if you can't staff properly...
