The 12 Hottest New Restaurants in Columbus, Ohio

"Located in a renovated antique store (from which the brewery takes its name), Antiques on High is the sour-beer outpost of Seventh Son Brewing. Beer drinkers come for the seven sours on tap, while cocktail lovers flock for a menu curated by the lauded Travis Owens (formerly of Curio). With midcentury modern basement vibes, a splash of beer nostalgia, and quirky yellow lighting, you’ll want to pull up a seat and stay awhile. There’s always a food truck on the back patio should you need something savory to pair with your Wax Poetic, a recommended sour blonde ale." - Beth Stallings

Seventh Son’s south-side taproom focuses on tart and wild ales plus a serious cocktail list and a year‑round rooftop patio. A perennial favorite, it topped Columbus Underground’s reader bar rankings three years running and still lands near the top.

Google
Fun spot! I was pleasantly surprised at how warm the rooftop patio was in the middle of winter - plenty of heaters and fans to circulate the warm air. We had dinner plans so we just enjoyed a couple of drinks, but the charcuterie vending machine is a cute touch and the pizza smelled great!

David

Google
Antiques On High is just a whole vibe. The atmosphere is amazing, the drinks are astounding, and the food trucks that frequent are top tier. You cannot go wrong here.

Dottie Mayne

Google
Great selection of tart beers (and other options for those who aren’t keen). Great ambiance and service

Alex M

Google
AOH is clearly one of the best bars in Columbus. Whatever you like, they’ve got you. Great craft beers? Check. Fantastic cocktails? Check. Nonalcoholic cocktails and beer? Check. (All great too btw.) The atmosphere is great too. Can’t miss the rooftop.

Darcie Plaster

Google
Great atmosphere and good beers. Love the cozy feel of the bar. I love sour and tart beers, so the menu was right up my alley, but they had several other good options for my husband who prefers an ipa or lager.

Kevin Schneider

Google
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Collin and Billy from Seventh Son through some of the promotions we’ve partnered with on Qfm96. Both are stand up guys who are passionate about what they do. They always treat us like friends and make awesome, delicious beer!

Luke Knapke

Google
Really neat place. They have great furniture a nice patio and the bar is very nice as well. They also have long tables made from what looks like large slabs of wood. Upstairs is an awesome patio area with a fireplace and greenery and bistro lighting. Seating and chairs in several different locations. They serve sours in particular but they also have other standard beers. Really cool place but this bar probably only appeals to a specific crowd.

Tod Bowen

Google
A great addition to our community. They have many fun and beautiful spots to hang out. The beer is of course excellent and the cocktails were amazing. The service was uber welcoming and friendly and the overall energy was exactly what you want.

Yelp
This might be my favorite place to drink in all of Columbus! It's owned by Seventh Son brewery and it specializes in sour ales. They have $5 beers on Monday...a price that is very rare these days. It also has a hip, vintage feel and an extremely amusing vending machine. I came here multiple times when I was in Columbus for work and...if I ever end up in that surprisingly vibrant city again...I'll repeat the process!

Yelp
AoH is in that location that is far enough away from me, that it remains this mysterious place in another world. It's dark and mysterious. It's leather and concrete and steel. It's exposed and inviting, with fireplaces (like... it's awesome in the winter here, you wouldn't think it, with as exposed, but... FIREPLACES!) They suffer from a lack of parking - you might have to hunt for a spot - but it's a nice neighborhood with great bars and food (Agni, Kolache, Cobra) in spitting distance. They have a few of their own beers, and cocktails, and other offerings from their sister-breweries Getaway and Seventh Son. So they have something for everyone to drink - and usually a food truck out back. There's always someone snacking in a booth, usually a couple spots at the bar, and upstairs is hit and miss (sometimes it's packed, sometimes it's rented out, sometimes you're chilling in front of a fire place). It's a nice place to have a date, have a drink, and relax.

Yelp
70s-inspired with a vintage feel (hence the name), Antiques on High would make anyone feel as though they're a side character in a Bond movie. AOH has a warm, inviting, and upscale atmosphere, but doesn't require any of its patrons to be dressed to the nines. Find yourself in a cozy booth or upstairs on the rooftop patio, but you're guaranteed to have a delicious cocktail, cider, and light bites (cheese vending machine, anyone)? The best bar in GV; it was a regular haunt of mine!

David M.

Yelp
This place has been a curse to the neighborhood since day one. Tonight starts off with taking up half the street to reserve for $10 valet parking. How they can reserve a public street for their purposes is beyond me.
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
The environment and drinks are incredible, especially if you like sours (beer) and cocktails which are their specialty! Also, the taco stand in the back is awesome as well, so good to know that AOH does not offer food, just a cool little charcuterie vending machine.

Yelp
Had a wonderful evening here. We started with some pizza on the back patio. I was really impressed with the wood fired pizza and the rainbow truck they made it in. Very unique wood fired pizza for bar food, a delicious way to start our evening. We then went up to the rooftop bar and sat by a fire. Great view, great house made cocktails, great ambiance.

Yelp
Love love loved this place. I didn't know that to order and the server suggested a great drink. It was low key, and comfortable. Loved it.

Yelp
Love, love, LOVE Antiques on High!! First time trying it and we were so impressed! Cowboy cocktail (with tequila, it was very strong but so good!) was $11, Concord grape hard seltzer middle size was $5 and beer ranged from $5-$8. We sat at the bar which was perfect! We did not have to wait in the long line at the other end to order drinks - the only downside if you go when it's busy and don't get a seat at the bar. Parking was super easy anywhere on the street, and the bartender was SO nice! The inside is cozy but pretty dark, to the point where we were holding the menus in the light to read them (and we're in our mid 20s! Lol) Overall, we'll be back! Great place!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful space. Reminds me of a refined version of my grandparents house. Warm woods, bright yellows, antiqued copper and some vintage touches mixed in with dark banquettes and concrete. The beers are great, even the sours. The frozen pina colada is perfection. Tastes like fresh pineapple and coconut. If you're feeling hungry, hit up the charcuterie vending machine! The bartender will get you any serving ware you might need. Also, they have a self serve sparkling water tap and crushed ice to top it off.

Yelp
Really neat place we went to while exploring Columbus. It was small and cozy inside with a nice bar area and a really cool leather couch. They have a cool vending machine in back for bar snacks. I normally don't do mixed drinks, but on today's occasion I decided to try the Post Melon, it was delicious. the bar tender was very attentive and kept us supplied with spirits and water. They also have a small patio area, but it was too cold to sit out today.

Haili T.

Yelp
Really really wanted to like antiques, but it fell short of my expectations. The drinks had potential but were decent at most. Not particularly inventive. The bartenders were friendly, but the overall snobby vibe I got from the patrons were undesirable. I live in New York and I know what a good bar and crowd are like, and this was not it. It has potential but somehow falls short.

Yelp
I like the mix of leather, dark wood, brick walls, and pops of metal (the metal can bar, industrial duct showing roof, etc). The back-to-back leather couches up front with the fire place gives off mild vibes of Colorado ski lodge. AoH promotes local food, as this is an alcohol serving establishment only. I got a few tacos to go from Local Cantina across the street to eat while visiting with friends. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Special shout out to AoH's second floor indoor/outdoor seating area! A ginormous amount of light compared to their first-floor setup. Great thing about German Village/Brewery District: There's still free parking around - a priceless commodity now a days. Another great perk is AoH has food trucks on rotation, so there's usually food just out the front door from 5-9 PM. I met friends on a Friday evening, so Two Fatt Indians was serving, of which I have yet to try.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this cocktail bar! The mix of industrial elements like exposed brick and modern touches like leather seats created a great atmosphere. Stopped in for a quick drink and found a pride themed cocktail that supported local charities and tasted delicious. Win-win! Bartenders were super friendly too. Definitely need to come back next time I'm in town. Saw they had some wine and several sours on the menu, which are also my jam!
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
Great chill vibe. Great drinks and fun bartenders. Always a busy place with an upstairs and a little front patio. Mostly street parking outside.
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
Antiques in High is my favorite cocktail bar in Columbus. Part of this is probably because I live nearby, but it really is great. I went last night for the first time in awhile. We ordered the Acid Trip and it was a delicious mezcal cocktail. It was packed but the bartenders made the drinks quickly. I love the vibe of this place and the decor. I appreciate a bar without TVs.
google avatar

Chef G.

Yelp
Very laid back and smooth. Soft music, professional personnel. Good vibe. I'll definitely be back to check it out again

Maree P.

Yelp
Warm friendly bar. Music not so loud that you can't talk to the neighbors on the next bar stool.
google avatar

Alexa N.

Yelp
Loooove AOH! It's located in the German Village area so there is free street parking around. The vibe in the bar is more relaxing with booths and couches around. My favorite is sitting by the window with the fireplace. You can do cocktail flights which is nice because sometimes you want to try them all! I've never had any of their beer since I'm not a beer person nor any of the food. There are a couple nonalcoholic drink options too that'll make you still feel fancy :) The bartenders have always been nice and give good recommendations when you don't know what you want. Just a chill environment to go by yourself or with friends!
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
Great vibe, great beer (esp if you like sours). Good spot for groups, and nice upstairs area

Ben L.

Yelp
Best pina colada and Miami Vice! Perfect refreshment for the summer. And the service is the best.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
I love antiques on high! Their cocktails are wonderful and they've got a great beer and wine selection on top of that as well. The interior is so cool and it doesn't even feel like you are in Columbus anymore. Especially the rooftop! A group of people that I work with and I were there on 11/30/22 and one of the female bartenders was extremely rude, not only to one of us but multiple people had very poor interactions with her. I am disappointed because a lot of coworkers were visiting from out of town and it made a poor impression on them about Columbus. Overall drinks were good but very disappointed in the service from her.
google avatar

Chad P.

Yelp
Another great stop on the south end of high Street right before you enter downtown Columbus. Street parking only two-story establishment. Great atmosphere very laid-back and cozy. They have leather couches and furniture throughout the establishment including the booths. Long bar. Extensive craft beer offering. I counted about 15 on tap as well as a full cocktail menu. We sat by the fireplace on one of the leather couches and enjoyed a couple drinks and conversation as the sun was shining through the front window of the bar. Staff was not overly friendly, but very service oriented and got our drinks out quickly. An excellent stop if you're heading to nationwide Arena or anything downtown Columbus
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
I love the decor here and the multiple seating options. When it's cold out the fire is burning on the first floor which makes it cozy, when it's warm out the 2nd floor outdoor space is great! As mentioned this location specializes in sour beer but even if you don't enjoy that there are plenty of other menu options available to try. They don't serve food but have menus available to local restaurants to order in.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
The room is pretty cool. Unfortunately the service isn't. I have been a few times and this last time I asked a couple of questions. The bartender presented as extremely impatient. I think I asked about two different drinks and she blew me off and then quickly said, "great. Are you going to order that?" I said no, I had one more question and asked if they have natural wine. She scoffed and said, "aren't all wines natural?" And I said no and she rolled her eyes.

Yelp
This place deserves literally every single star. We stopped in after brunch for a little more day drinking and this place is soooo awesome. The entire vibe is so cool and not what I expected at all. I love finding places in the city that seem like they'd be somewhere a little more metropolitan and this is one of those places. The bartender was super friendly and my drink was very tasty. The roof is amazing! Definitely similar to seventh son but much more open air. Unfortunately it started to storm so we had to move downstairs but the vibe down there is just as cool. Also they have a charcuterie vending machine!! Like how cool is that. I would have tried it out if I wasn't stuffed from brunch. Definitely a place I will be taking out of town guests in the future.

Yelp
So this space might just be my favorite bar in town !!! The mid century modern vibes give me the relaxing feels with their leather, wood and concrete interior !! Love the charcuterie vending machine, curated cocktails and the bartenders always lovely and attentive ! You can definitely find us here curled up on the leather sofa for Sunday funday and a hot toddy or three ! They have never disappointed !

Yelp
Great spot on South High. Walked in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. This is one cool place. Nice beer and spirit options and the bartenders are skilled. We sat in a booth because the patios were full. The booths are nice so it was a good option. I'd like to try the patios next time. Their format includes no table service. You go up to the bar to order.....or reorder, and the drink line can get long. We opted to leave instead of ordering a second round. I'm not sure if this is a Covid protocol, but having no table service in a bar seems funny. We are fans and will be back.
google avatar

Tyler E.

Yelp
Great environment but mediocre beer. I want to like this place every time I go but only having 6 beers of their own makes it difficult, especially when you can get superior sours throughout the city. Having been to both Seventh Son and Getaway multiple times I wish the owners would lean more into their sour platform rather than a mix of sours, seventh son beers and cocktails.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
The vibe in AoH is great!! Loved the live plants and booths! Really enjoyed getting a cocktail and hanging out with friends. There are so many cool cocktail options with nonalcoholic options as well!
google avatar

Rose Z.

Yelp
Nice little spot. Cocktails are on point and the bartenders do a great job there. Overall fun spot, but service is on the slower side. The upstairs is also REALLY loud, so if that's not your vibe or you're trying to carry conversation with people..probably not your best bet. Downstairs is much better.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Nice bar on High near German Village. We will be back. We liked the Old Fashions. Has an upstairs area as well.

Yelp
I love AOH! Airy space, great atmosphere, and beautiful & tasty drinks! The staff were very friendly~ they have two floors and patio space too. As the weather gets warmer, it will be a perfect spot to hang out! Cheers~

Yelp
Really nice place with a great atmosphere. I especially love the rooftop area. The lighting is good and the service is great.
google avatar

Doug S.

Yelp
First time here. The bartender was familiar though. It has the same ownership as Getaway Brewing in Dublin. Really cool spot to have a drink and hang out. It's a brewery but it seems like they have an assortment of cocktails as well. Nice selection of in-house brews. They have sours here; which a lot of breweries don't have. Bar service was great. They don't seem to have food but it sounds like they have a rotation of food trucks. I didn't find a parking lot. There is street parking available in the area. This was an Ale Trail stop that I will surely be returning to.
google avatar

Jenny Z.

Yelp
Yesssss I think this is my favorite bar in Columbus. Awesome beer, sour, cocktail and wine options with plenty of seating. The downstairs is beautiful but the upstairs is more of a hidden gem... a fireplace and two big TVs. It was a great place to watch the Ohio State game the first time we came. Tried the Wild and Sour flight and the spicy mezcal margarita. There are some fun and funky sours on tap and the margarita was perfectly spicy. After coming here a couple times my favorite sour is the Ginkyo which is a surprising 7.4%. You wouldn't guess it at all... goes down too easy. You can also bring food in from the local restaurants / food trucks which is just great!

Jawn K.

Yelp
Antiques on High combines an ambient atmosphere with excellent drinks putting it a step above most bars in Columbus. The interior of the restaurant is certainly enticing, with its combination of an old speakeasy-type bar and an extensive drink menu with modern furniture and a chic vibe. My partner and I elected to have a flight of saisons and we were satisfied with not only the presentation of the beverages but also the alluring flavors which are not typically found at your local bar. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Will certainly visit this establishment again, with no qualms.

Alex S.

Yelp
This has to be my new favorite place. The ambiance is amazing and service was attentive. It's a great place to meet up with one person or even a small group. The happy hour during the week is a great deal, too. It was only $5 for drafts, and it was a great selection. They don't serve food, but there are snacks and sometimes a food truck apparently. I'll definitely be back!

Naveen Q.

Yelp
Antiques on High is such a cute place! I met a friend here after work and the service was excellent. I don't drink but they have a couple delicious non-alcoholic options! The rooftop is nice with lots of greenery and a covered area.
google avatar

Yelp
Unique atmosphere and good if you like sour beers. Cocktail menu looked good - would try next time.

Yelp
I've been hearing a lot about AoH and I'm so glad I finally got the chance to check it out. An old friend and I grabbed a drink after work and the space couldn't be more perfect. You walk in and the hustle and bustle of the city just disappears behind you. The space is dimly lit and modern. It sort of reminds me of a swanky office. You've got a fireplace, comfy couch, giant fiddle leaf, cozy booth seating, and a beautifully designed bar. It's perfect for an after-work pick-me-up. The staff welcomed me right away and it was very appreciated. My friend and I took a seat at the bar and the gentleman tending for the evening gave me an excellent recommendation. While my friend got a beer (yes, this is run by the same folks over at Seventh Son), I ordered the Chesterfield, which is their take on an Old Fashioned. It was made with a rye whiskey (I'm a huge fan), and it was so easy to drink. After I finished I asked about the ingredients and it was cool to hear the staff's expertise on liquor as a whole. I will be back, without a doubt. I love that you can find food trucks out back and that along with delicious beer, their cocktail menu is also fantastic. Excellent work!
google avatar

Mackenzie O.

Yelp
This is a really cool spot with great drinks! There's plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs on their rooftop. Bar staff are friendly and helpful. I tried a flight of their sours for $12 and really enjoyed the taste and variety. Later, I tried their mixed frozen drink which was disappointingly not good and weirdly mint flavored. I'd recommend staying away from that one. Their other mixed drinks are fun and great though!
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Antiques On High doesn't sell antiques. It's a brewpub. There's added confusion because there's an "Antiques On High" in Carroll. And that one sells antiques. This is the better one in my opinion. It specializes in sour beers. It's a sister brewery of Seventh Son. There's a few beers from them on tap. It's highly recommended to get their own sour beers. They range from mild to strongly tart. I had a Saddle Lamp. It's about $6 for a pint. This is a very dark beer, but it isn't malty like many beers like this. It's one of the stronger beers by alcohol. The rest of the sours are not as dark, mostly. On the ground floor is the main bar. It also has a nice upstairs area that's not as crowded. There's more comfortable seating and it felt warm even though the patio door was open in the cold weather.
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
Antiques is easily my favorite cocktail bar in Columbus! The vibe is so cozy, the cocktails are delicious (good wine too!), patio is great in the summer, and the charcuterie vending machine is definitely a great addition. Always a great spot for a date or drink with a friend!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Cool place. Owned by the same people that have Seventh Son. The vibe inside (downstairs) is very retro and welcoming. Upstairs is more of a patio kind of vibe with actual patio spaces as well. Lots and lots of outdoor seating here. Our bartenders were okay -- they were friendly but definitely seemed to be moseying along. The bar predominantly serves sours so thats what we tried. You can get flights but be aware you pay per beer -- each is listed out on the menu for what a 5oz pour costs. I tried three of their sours but my favorite by far was sike! strawberry. As is to be expected with sours their beers are a bit more expensive than other breweries. I would return!

Yelp
I loved, loved, LOVED Antiques on High! This hot new bar opened up just around the corner from my house and I was anxious to try it. The fiance and I ambled in on a Monday evening and we honestly had a wonderful time. The interior is just gorgeous. You walk in and see a welcoming fireplace with comfy seating and several large booths and tables throughout. There's also a very spacious bar that is made from old beer cans and it is just really sleek and beautiful. There is also an upstairs that has a couple of outdoor patio areas and has ample seating for large groups. We loved the look of the place! They do not have a menu BUT they have rotating food trucks! Each day boasts a different truck. You can find the schedule on their website. We ordered our drinks and then I went out and placed a food order and within 15 minutes we were eating at the bar. It was perfect! We ordered cocktails for our first round and they were pretty good. His (Gentleman's Buck) was better than mine (Alright Alright) because mine was super small and mostly ice but other than that it tasted good. I can't wait to try some of the other cocktails because the folks behind the bar really know what they are doing. After our cocktails, we decided to split a flight of their unique sours. Neither of us are really into sours or know that much about them so this was a great introduction. We tried several but I walked away really liking the crushed velvet. I definitely plan to order a full glass of it the next time I stop in, which will be very soon! Definitely check this spot out - it makes for a great date spot or a chance to catch up with a big group of friends.

Yelp
Antiques has a great vibe and a perfect location. The drinks aren't my favorite selection in town but the price is consistent with similar venues. What stands AOH apart from other similar places is their high quality staff and great roof deck. Perfect place to enjoy drinks with friends hidden away and covered while allowing sunlight on a sunny afternoon is just what you need sometimes.
google avatar

Mallory H.

Yelp
Antiques on high never disappoints. The drinks are always solid. I love going to the patio in the summer. There are always food trucks and the patio section is DOG FRIENDLY!! It is perfect for a hot summer day & you wanna take your dog for a walk (but obviously treat yourself with a drink).
google avatar

Tyann A.

Yelp
I am absolutely obsessed with this brewery. It is so nice and intimate inside. They have strong, delicious drinks that are reasonably priced! You can get shot sizes of most of the drinks for $5. I got the Flight with the DOPPELGANGER, the PIÑA ASADA, COLOR OF SPRING ($15), the Matcha Slush and the Chai Slush shots ($10). My favorite was the DOPPELGANGER and the Chai Slush! The bartender was super nice and they have the coolest Charcuterie Vending Machine. They often have a food truck in the back too!
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
They had a really good sour on tap the last time I went, and the staff was super willing to help me figure out what I would like. The cocktails are also incredibly well made.
