Antonello Colonna Labico

"Situated in a scenically impressive setting nestling in the Vallefredda countryside and housed in an original, avant-garde building, this sophisticated restaurant serves carefully balanced and elegant dishes that underline its proximity to Rome and its close connection with Lazio’s rural traditions. Here, nature and modernity go hand in hand: the restaurant is home to large, almost museum-like rooms adorned with works of art and surrounded by parkland. The dishes, on the other hand, are classic in style, in deliberate contrast to the striking, contemporary backdrop in which they are served, and are inspired by many of Italy’s different culinary traditions. We highly recommended booking a table on the lawn under the mature chestnut trees in summer." - Michelin Inspector

"If you’re a big enough fan of Italian cooking, the name Antonello Colonna may ring a bell. The famed chef and restaurateur — once nicknamed an “anarchist in the kitchen” — made a grand entrance onto the food scene in 1985 when he took over a rustic trattoria in Labico, outside of Rome, prompting a culinary revolution with his adaptations of traditional dishes. A small empire grew from there. Colonna opened his Michelin-starred restaurant at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome in 2007, and a few years later, in 2012, he opened a twelve-room hotel, the Antonello Colonna Resort & Spa, adjacent to his famous restaurant in Labico." - Tablet Hotels

The pillow menu is a lovely touch. Rooms offer a comfortable setting to spend a romantic weekend. Sound proof of the room next to the reception could be improved. The rooms are spacious and immersed in nature and fields. They are clean and very modern. The mini bar is rich and tempting.

1- If you don’t have a car just forget it, it is far away from everything and there is not taxis available. 2- The spa is very disappointing had a bad experience and the massage was below average.(we booked a couple massage and when my partner was few minutes late they didn’t allow her to join me and I already informed them that she will be joining me) btw massage was disrupted twice by random people walking in. 3- The dinner experience was nice. 4- rooms were nice. Was the movie (the menu) inspired by this place?

Extremely Disappointed with the Hotel's False Vegan Meal Promise I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Antonello Colonna SPA resort, and I must express my profound disappointment with their blatant disregard for their promise to accommodate my vegan dietary requirements. The discrepancy between their confirmation email and the reality of my stay was truly disheartening. When I initially made my booking, I was pleased to receive a confirmation email assuring me that the hotel would cater to my vegan needs. This led me to believe that I would be able to enjoy a satisfying and varied culinary experience during my stay. Unfortunately, the hotel's actions fell far short of their words, leaving me feeling neglected and unimportant as a guest. Upon attending the aperitivo, I was met with a tray of raw vegetables drizzled with oil as the extent of their vegan offering. This lackluster attempt at catering to my dietary needs was both embarrassing and insulting. It demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and effort on the part of the hotel to provide a thoughtfully prepared vegan option. To my dismay, matters did not improve at dinner. I was met with indifference and apathy from the staff when I inquired about vegan options. They nonchalantly suggested that they might be able to find a single dish that could be modified to fit my requirements. This dismissive response left me feeling marginalized and as though my dietary needs were an inconvenience rather than a legitimate concern. When it came time for dessert, I was met with yet another disappointment. The staff informed me that there were no vegan dessert options available on the menu. This lack of consideration and forethought was disconcerting, especially considering the premium price I paid for my stay (350 Euro per night!). It is simply unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber not to have a basic selection of vegan desserts readily available. In addition to the culinary letdown, I must also express my dissatisfaction with the spa facilities. Given the price, I expected a more spacious and well-equipped spa. The hotel's failure to live up to their promise of accommodating vegan needs, the lack of effort in providing suitable options, the absence of vegan desserts, and the underwhelming spa facilities have left an indelibly negative impression on my stay. It is my sincere hope that the management takes these critiques seriously and makes substantial improvements to ensure a more inclusive and satisfactory experience for all guests in the future.

We had the most wonderful experience: the hotel, the food, the spa and the staff. They accommodated all of complicated our dietary requirements - 1 vegan and gluten free, 1 lactose, meat gluten free and 1 no red meat - superbly, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our spa treatments were wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for kinder attentions from all the staff. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏

Really nice and special hotel with extraordinary rooms and a magnificent pool! The staff is really friendly and helpfully all the time... . It’s a 40 minutes drive from Rome, but the area and the little village Labico is nice to visit too... You can easily hike to the town and make nice hiking tours in the area! We enjoyed our stay a lot and probably will go back if we have the opportunity! We stayed here in June 2020... .

Great location, great architecture, great friendly staff, great gastronomy within the hotel; cannot ask for more for comforts in a Mid Century design. Staff are efficient and friendly, hotel spaces are enjoyable to experience, and also surrounding countryside. Dinners are a gastronomic experience, both for the tongue and for the eyes. Owner and chef greets during dinner. Memorable and astounding fresh breakfast too. Spa is great to enjoy. We went for the winter months, and we loved the ambiance. Summer should be another experience.

A beautiful and elegant small hotel about 50 minutes drive from Rome. Best feature of hotel really is the staff (reception team is wonderful) and the excellent chef in charge who is producing wonders. The hotel you should know is in a remote location so not a lot of interest to drive to (say similar to tuscany), so the objective should be to relax for 2-3 days tops. The hotel has an outdoor pool at the roof of its structure, an indoor pool (albeit a bit dark and in need of natural light), and a small spa. Rooms are fairly modern and full of light with ceiling to floor glass windows. No gym or fitness room at this facility though. Free parking is provided, Wifi connection especially in rooms is on the poor side. I understood kids below 10 years old are below the minimum age for guests. A final light hearted note to guests from overseas would be this - this hotel is extremely pet friendly - they allow guests to bring their pets into common areas and rooms and the hotel keeps a few around site, so raising that in case that bothers you in anyway (Most of hotel clientele are italians and they didnt seem to mind the dogs barking from one room!). Beautiful place would visit again.
