The 25 Best Restaurants In Orlando 2024

"The downstairs cafe of Antonio’s sort of reminds us of food halls in Italy. It’s an always-busy market setup where the tables are scattered among the merchandise, so you might end up seated by boxes of risotto or bottles of amarone as you share a spread of pizza and pasta. They’re open all day, so it works if you want a slab of lasagna for lunch, a stromboli for dinner, or a meatball sub at 3pm. Don’t leave their market without picking up some almond cookies from Tuscany or a ball of smoked scamorza from Puglia. They also have a restaurant upstairs that’s more formal with steaks and a full bar, but we like the market best. " - cheryl rodewig, gabe bergado, ryan pfeffer, macy johnson

A Winter Park–area icon: market downstairs, white‑tablecloth ristorante upstairs. Locally owned since the 1980s, Antonio’s is regularly cited by Orlando Magazine readers and remains a beloved date‑night standby for classic pastas and Italian wines.

My husband and I came for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was an amazing experience. We ate upstairs and from the moment we arrived we greeted by a friendly host and the service from our waitress throughout the night was impeccable. Food was amazing, I’d give more stars if I could. It felt like an authentic Italian experience and you can tell the secret ingredient is love! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this lovely place if you’re looking for some yummy Italian food in an elegant setting :)

We had a family party of 14 downstairs in the Market for dinner. It was fabulous! Tim, the manager bent over backwards to accommodate us! We sat all together in a corner & spent the evening laughing, eating delicious food & wine and enjoying our time together. The service was wonderful! Thank you so much for going above and beyond! We will be back and continue to recommend one of our favorite eateries!

Love the downstairs Cafe at Antonio's! It never disappoints! Great atmosphere, amazing service, and delicious food! The perfectly crusty bread and seasoned olive oil for dipping is one of my favorites! I always enjoy the fresh spinach salad topped with grilled salmon. This is a must stop whenever you are near the Maitland area!

Google
Antonio’s of Maitland is a unique place. They have an Italian market downstairs and a nice dining area upstairs. The food was excellent, bring a classic homemade Italian taste. The portions were big. We enjoyed the burrata and calamari appetizers. I had the Capellini D’Angelo and loved every bite. My only complaint was that it was rather hot upstairs and our waters were not promptly refilled so I was feeling pretty parched.

We impressed our 'world traveler foodie' friends with this lunch. The veal piccata was the best I have ever had. Looking forward to a repeat visit!

Google
This place did not disappoint! The decor inside is classic and welcoming, you can tell it's been around for a while. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and served promptly, but you can tell everything is made fresh in their kitchen. I got shrimp linguine and enjoyed the extra sauce at the bottom, it was good for dipping bread. My husband got the chicken parmesan and it was filling, which is a big deal because he eats a lot. We look forward to coming back and checking out the market downstairs.

Google
I knew we were going to have a good experience when we walked in. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the service is excellent. I shared a cheese ravioli which had sundried tomatoes and a nice level of seasoning. It was delicious. The limonchello was light and fluffy with lemon rind and white chocolate. Will definitely come back!

I’ve been going to Antonio’s for over 10 years… every special occasion, every visit back in town, every time I want the best gourmet pizza to-go. I always stop by the market for wine, cheese, prosciutto, and crisps. I even got engaged here. Needless to say, this place holds a special place in my heart. Downstairs will always be my favorite. The food? Incredible. The bread? Truly the best I’ve ever had. The desserts are all homemade, and the pizza? You won’t find better. Antonio’s is the spot.

Yelp
Normally eat upstairs however had lunch in the downstairs cafe. Service is awesome. Our waiter recommended the chicken and artichoke dish which was flavorful and filling. My partner had the rosemary chicken - I didn't try it but it looked good.

Yelp
Service was friendly, a bit slow but it was noon at lunch time. We were in no hurry. We split the chicken Parmesan sandwich with pasta salad. Both were delicious.

Yelp
We ate in the first floor casual restaurant. We looked over the menu and decided to get the peach ice tea. A few minutes later, the waiter brought us 2 plastic bottles of iced tea and glasses with ice. The bottles looked similar to ones you'd find at Walmart or 7-11, and definitely not something I'd expect at a sit-down restaurant. I ordered the stromboli and my wife got the pizza. The waiter never brought us any bread, even though we got it on previous visits and other people had some. Is it because we ordered 2 bread dishes? But then why didn't the waiter at least offer to bring us some and let us decide if we didn't want to eat so much bread? Then about 10 minutes later, a waitress came by with food and said, here's our pizza and pork dish. I didn't order a pork dish. A lady sitting next to me said that's what she ordered. Then the waitress took the food into the back and brought the pork dish to the other table. Then the waiter came out with the pizza, *but not my food*. He said he had placed the wrong order and my stromboli will be another 10 minutes! He didn't say what order he placed instead of mine. So I got to watch my wife eat almost all of her meal while I waited for mine. Then a manager came out and said my stromboli will be ready in a minute or two and they're putting the finishing touches on it. He brought it out soon after, apologized for the delay, and said they wouldn't charge us for the stromboli. When it finally arrived, it tasted good, but I was in a sour mood by then. Then my wife finished her meal and got to watch me eat mine.

Yelp
Service was great. I love looking at all the Italian products on the shelves. The pizza was delicious.

Yelp
I have been coming to Antonio's market and cafe for many many years. One of my favorite spots when I'm in Maitland. The ambience and service has always been five star. Their pizza and salads are delicious. Never disappointing. I had the privilege to meet both Tim and Mike. They were definitely the icing of the cake. I'm sorry I didn't get the name of my waiter but he was outstanding. Friendly and attentive not only to our table but to all the tables in his area. I can't wait to come back.

Brenda M.

Yelp
Highly recommend!! Antonio's downstairs is always a special treat. Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is always exceptional and attentive to our needs. Wynonna provided excellent service and recommendations. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Good food & liquor/ wine selection. I love the cafe because you can sit and enjoy or order to go at the counter and still receive the same quality.

Yelp
My wife and I were steered to Antonio's cafe via Zagat reviews over 21 years ago. It remains our first choice for Italian food, pizza and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is excellent and the staff extraordinary. Also an awesome wine selection from which you can buy a bottle and for a negligible cork fee, enjoy it with dinner. Highly recommend !

James K.

Yelp
Great spot for a small group to stop in for food and wine. Always like the grab and go items for the next day :-)

Yelp
Excellent location and experience. Feels like a dining experience in New York City. In regards to the downstairs cafe, the service is top-notch and amongst the best it could ever be. Menu options are satisfactory. Food quality is A+. Prices are fantastic! Ambience is great for dating, dining after work, or dining before a movie. Highly recommend. More casual downstairs than upstairs. Fun and energetic atmosphere. Wish there were more restaurants like this in society.

Yelp
Primo I've never had a bad meal at Antonio's could literally live off the menu. I'm having Lasagna today.
google avatar

Yelp
Antonio's Market is the place to go if you are looking for a large selection of wine , cheese, baked goods, deli items and ready made meals. It's the perfect place to shop for a picnic lunch on the beach. There is causal dining available with random tables throughout the store and several tables outside. The wood fired pizza is amazing but if you want more out of your meal they also serve traditional Italian dishes. You can even buy a bottle of wine in the store and they will cork it at your table.

Beth P.

Yelp
I just have to say I am Impressed! My husband and I thought we would give the downstairs cafe a try and the experience was wonderful. The wait staff was attentive and very knowledgeable of their menu selections. we initially ordered the antipasto and were then convinced to give Levoni a try as it is an upgrade. We tried it and we're not disappointed. Then I am very picky about my Cabernets. I described to Will (our server) exactly what taste I expected and he picked out Austin Hope for us. Well that was a winner too - perfect choice. Needless to say we will return on a more frequent basis and ask for Will again.

Yelp
Great experience! Amazing service. Ask for Kevin....he's excellent! Bread for the table was perfect and we had to buy some of the dipping oil....so good. Pasta dish was very tasty. Calzone and Stromboli are huge. Chicken Parm sandwich was top 10. All fresh ingredients. Desserts? Limoncello cake was gone 60 seconds after it hit the table and I didn't share. Tiramisu was spot on real. Lots to buy from wine and liquor to desserts and to go meals, spices to oils. Will be back!

Yelp
Having a schizophrenic experience while under the roof of the same establishment warrants some parsing. We visited Antonio's a couple weeks ago during Magical Dining. We were super excited since it was our first time there. Honestly, the service and dinners, upstairs, were fabulous. I told my husband that my meal was absolutely in the TOP 5 BEST RESTAURANT DINNERS I've had since moving to Orlando 12 years ago. So why the 1 star? This ranking has nothing to do with the upstairs restaurant, it's all about the market and the subsequent follow up, or should I say, NO FOLLOW UP from the management following our complaint. Following our amazing dinner, we were beckoned to check out the market and that restaurant space, which is absolutely charming. Caught up in the moment and basking in the afterglow of an amazing dinner, we decided to make some purchases. We bought a package of sliced meat, brie and assorted cookies. Little did we know, everything was expired. We didn't realize this until I opened the meat, took a bite, and spit it out...this was several days later. Had I looked closer, I might have seen the slight discoloration occurring, but hey, we just ate an amazing meal, so who's thinking about this? After I spit out my nibble, my husband checked the expiration date and saw it had long expired. He then checked the brie, and that, too, had expired. Fortunately, it hadn't yet spoiled, so we quickly consumed it. The assorted cookies were simply stale. Too long sitting on the counter. You know how some baked goods start to taste "mealy" and kinda rancid? That's the taste. We immediately reached out to Antonio's and shared our experience, and to our amazement, NOT 1 PERSON has contacted us. We are in Lake Nona and they are in Maitland...not easy to quickly stop in to talk to management in person. To reiterate, this pertains to the market/deli only! Not the restaurant upstairs. This complaint warrants some follow up by management.

Yelp
seriously... on a $25 salmom in a salad you charged 25% extra to season with garlic and capers???? not regulars anymore

Yelp
Antonio's makes and cafe down stairs Maitland has been are Sunday night pizza and Caesar salad with market place price for a bottle of wine as long as it has been opened over 30 years. The food is always been excellent overall these years and the pizza is superb. The wait staff over the years has been excellent and the wine selection is always excellent as well. There are certain weights that has that we connected up with like Will and Mace and Carie and were always treated like royalty there. I cannot think of a better place in this area to enjoy as Sunday meal Joe and Sue Warren

Yelp
I have eaten here many times and I am lazy and forget to leave a review. Since today is 407 day (dine/support local restaurants) seemed like a good time to rectify this. Food, service, and vibe is so great at Antonios downstairs. I've been eating at the market pretty regularly since the pandemic started. The food is consistently amazing. And additional seating has been added in the parking lot. (seems weird but it works great!) I love Italian food and everything I've had is top notch. Eggplant parm is easily in my top 3 for Florida. Even when the service is off due to a large party, like it was tonight, the staff pitches in to check on us and provide lively conversation. It feels like visiting family at Antonios. They are truly remarkable. And don't forget to pick up a few take home items in the shop!

Lucia C.

Yelp
We love coming to Antonio's on Sunday nights and we always ask for Will who's the best server!! We enjoy a bottle of wine, pizza and the best eggplant parmigiana. Will is always so attentive and knows our order. He's awesome!

Yelp
I came here for dinner as a party of 3 and for the most part was pretty happy about the food and service. Its obviously Italian food, but more Americanized than pure Italian, from what I recall eating during my travels to the Italian regions of Veneto, Firenze and Milano. Pulling into the restaurant, was glad to see lots of parking available and then entering thru the door, luckily found a spare table (the place was packed) and our sweet waitress started us off with some lovely warm bread with oil, and we also asked for some balsamic, which was swiftly bought to our table. I liked the ingredients which made up Pesto Roasted Chicken Pizza (Pesto sauce, roasted red peppers, caramelized onion, roasted chicken, ricotta and mozzarella cheese) and instead of Chicken got Artichoke as a substitute. The 14" pie was $16 and was massive enough that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. The other choice for our table was the Quattro (Mushrooms, artichokes, basil, pepperonata, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese) and we again got the 14" pie for $15.50. I really liked the dough in the pizza and the ricotta for my pizza was an especial highlight. But overall the pesto was really quite oily and I was a bit startled to find the pesto oil running down my fingers on my first bite. It got better when I combined the pesto with the Quattro, as it made for a less oily and more edible mashup. The Quattro - was... interesting. I had discovered during my Italian travels that the traditional Quattro pizza, which is also know as the four seasons pizza, has a very strong visual look. This pizza is split into 4 quarters, with each section having a specific ingredient to represent one season of the year. So that's what I was expecting, and instead what we got served on the table was a pizza with all of the toppings in all of the quadrants. It wasn't bad at all, just different from my expectation. For dessert, this being an Italian joint, we decided to end our meal with the Tiramisu, split 3 ways. So it didnt look or taste very traditional - we felt it had more creama than the ladyfingers layers, of which there was only one. It was too rich and dense this way. Not sure if would get this again. Overall, I enjoyed the service and there were bright spots in the food. Its located close to my work and so I can definitely see myself coming back with my co-workers, if we were in the mood for some Americanized - Italian. Yelp 126/2018

Dan O.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going here for years, often bringing friends and family. We understood the cost increase in meals, but we do not approve of poor quality. Last month (September) we found the staff to be rude and as one example the chicken parmigiana was burnt, picture attached. We loved going there and will continue to watch future posts with hopes things will improve. For now, we will not return...

Yelp
Why is there not a 6 star option? Because Antonio's deserves no less than that!! As a born and raised orlando resident I'm a little sad it took me so long to find this place but in the time that I have I've made solid use of my visits. Every trip in you're welcomed by the awesome staff and typically sat quite quickly. The food is so SO good! I've deviated on orders over time however I go back to the penne with vodka and salmon almost every time... I can't give it up. The added bonus here is browsing to pick out a bottle of wine and immediately opening at the table. Zero doubt I'll continue my gluttonous trips here over time and I'll bring everyone I know eventually!!
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Hidden gem and institution. The burrata salad is amazing! I love the laid back atmosphere. You can grab a bottle of wine and they charge a 5 dollar uncorking fee. Very reasonable but delicious food. I highly recommend a walk around Lake a lily and then pop over her for a glass of wine and some excellent food!
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
Came in because we were in the area and read all the great reviews and the place did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the people were wonderful! Highly recommend !!

Robin W.

Yelp
Going Downhill Fast . The female nabager is unfriendly and spiteful. They have made changes that are not in their best interest. The cookies used to be envious, now they are not, the chocolate cake for years was perfect, now it is not !! The pizza is still great .

Jim B.

Yelp
Great food and service! Been coming here for years. Their rosemary chicken is delicious. Great crusty bread - real butter on request. They serve the BEST coffee in Orlando - Lavazza! The restaurant is also a market with loads of specialty items to shop. They sell a Sloppy Joe sauce that is really good! They also have a fancier venue upstairs but we tend to stick with the down stairs.

Yelp
Would like to write of my experience today Sunday Nov. 20th for lunch around 1pm let me start with the good part yes the food was good which would have me return but to the upstairs dining area as the service was not the greatest from the start once we sat down the waiter was always rushing and no patience at all with questions we had & we had gone in the past to the Antonio's on sandlake before they closed down so took the chance to drive a bit from east orlando to get there. I asked to switch out the pasta on my dish instead of fettuccine I wanted spaghetti that came incorrectly but I didn't say anything we wanted a bottle of wine so the waiter said we can choose any bottle from their wine shop and so I did never mentioned there was a cork fee of 5.00 for buying their own wine from their store never saw this before usually cork fees are only charged if you bring your own bottle from the outside. It was not the dining experience I thought we would have from good reviews I read and menu for the downstairs is very limited so I will try it again but upstairs to see if we will continue to go back. Thanks!

Yelp
Scrumptious desserts. A must have. Don't sleep on this place. We love hanging out and getting caught up after a very busy year.

Yelp
Such an EXCELLENT experience thanks to our server WILLIAM and the new Chef. WOW- what a surprise. We wrote this place off after walking away over 8 times disappointed, BUT decided one more try - and thank goodness because it was SPOT ON. William gave us excellent service and the new chef's food is SOOO good. THANK YOU Antonio's Market and Cafe for stepping it up.

Yelp
After a day of errands in the area (We live in Port Orange and come to the "big city" to shop) we decided to have a bite of lunch before heading home. Not knowing this area too well we looked at Yelp and found Antonios! Wonderful reviews, and since we were very close, we decided to stop. Due to Covid they had outdoor seating in the parking lot but also safe distance dining inside the café. James, our server, was very friendly and attentive, and we sat amongst bottles of wine and other items for sale. Fun atmosphere, nice menu, great service, what more could one ask? The food was outstanding, and we just ordered a simple lunch of a (shared) Caesar salad and pizza. James told us our choice was a newer menu item, fig and Gorgonzola, mozzarellas with arugula and balsamic glaze. It was perfectly prepared, piping hot and out of this world. Hope it stays on the menu for a while for others to sample. Nice crystal (C &S) glasses made our wine taste even better. We bought a bottle of the dipping oil (served with bread) to take home (it was that good) Turned out to be the highlight of our day, and we will definitely return, soon I hope! IPS: I did have to smile at one of the negative reviews, who enjoyed the food but when she found out that the proprietor had donated to the Trump campaign in May, declared she would never give another cent to this restaurant! That's not very tolerant is it?

Yelp
Very disappointed by my experience at Antonio's market. I stopped in to have a quick lunch. I've never been before. Nobody was at the front counter at first, but I'm fairly patient so I browsed the counter for a menu and couldn't find one. Eventually a woman came to the front counter, and we asked for a menu. She briskly nearly tossed the menu at us and asked if it was for here or to go. We said we just wanted to order sandwiches, but asked if we could order to go but we may sit for a quick minute. She then quickly said "then you'll have a server come outside for you" in what seemed like a dismissive tone. We replied "oh, no problem, thanks!" and then seated ourselves outside. We then waited for at least 15 minutes and nobody ever came to serve us. I didn't even bother going inside to ask if a server was coming since the lady already seemed annoyed by us to begin with. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but the whole exchange was so unpleasant and made me not want to ever go back.

Amberly R.

Yelp
Impeccable service and food just as amazing! Met a nice man, Mr. Joe, who bought my bf and I a bottle of wine...so sweet which made our 1st visit an A+. For reference, we did a pepperoni pizza, Chicken Parmesan, and grilled breast.
google avatar

Sandi A.

Yelp
Excellent dining experience! The salmon was exquisite and the vegetables cooked to perfection. The ambiance is warm and inviting and the service is equal to the quality of the food! My first visit but I'll definitely go again!
google avatar

Tara T.

Yelp
I would put zero stars but I can't find that feature. The host was the most awful condescending person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Too bad. We spend plenty of $ and have at least 10 whenever we go out and have lost of family and friends in Orlando. I do not recommend this place.
google avatar

Stew M.

Yelp
Always great - food is fresh and staff is welcoming. Parking is sometimes a challenge, but plan to get there early if you want to park on downstairs side.
google avatar

Pam C.

Yelp
The downstairs restaurant is small because the area contains a deli, with baked goods, wine, and a variety of specialty items for sale. The menu upstairs is larger but the downstairs menu is adequate.WE ordered eggplant parmesan, fish of the day, and pear/sausage sandwiches. The service was good and fast. We were there about 2:00 and the upstairs had closed at 2:00 so we ate downstairs. Of course we had to purchase slices of cake to take home.

Ishkah B.

Yelp
This has been our favorite neighborhood haunt since Greg first opened. Where else can you get such great dishes like chicken with artichokes and pork marsala? Their prices are very reasonable and the assortment of wines is fabulous.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
I have been coming to the downstairs cafe for decades. Unfortunately, lately it has had numerous issues and quality control problems. On my last two visits, I was delivered the wrong entree. When I questioned it, they quickly replaced it with a cold (inside) correct order. Service was extremely slow. We sat for 20 minutes before finally flagging down someone to give us a menu.

Hank G.

Yelp
Antonio's is a delightful restaurant. During this time of the Coronavirus the take service was exceptional!

S W.

Yelp
Service was, as is usual here, very good with bread and wine service excellent. Lunch (salmon) today (2 of us) was cold in one case and lukewarm in the other. Management now seems to believe that a restaurant seeking to look and feel like an Italian family trattoria should play medium-loud 1960-70 rock music --- perhaps shooting for the feel of a bar with food service rather than the formerly very excellent dining experience it was?? I guess liquor/wine profit margins are better than food. Too bad... one of our favorite weekly experiences.

Eric H.

Yelp
Food, atmosphere, wine, and service are all excellent. Very friendly staff and they know their wines. Dine there several times a week while in town.

Judy D.

Yelp
I don't understand this place. It's a small mish-mash of groceries...half Italian imports/deli and half are items that can be found in catalogues and other grocery stores. There are a LOT of wines but we didn't peruse that area. The cafe part, which consists of tables tucked in among the grocery shelves, seems awkward. We were two for lunch and our server was personable and efficient. The food was average. My pasta was very oversauced but the protein addition was quite generous. The Caesar salad was fresh and the carpaccio was good. Neither my table mate, nor I, thought we'd return and I believe it was mostly about the ambience.

Vince S.

Yelp
An amazing trattoria in Maitland. Greg, the owner, makes you feel like family. Rich makes you feel like he is your older sibling, there to take care of you. David...whatever wine he recommends just get it. The staff is great, the pizzas are amazing, and the specials are always special. This gem has survived in Maitland for years for a reason. Become friend with David and Rich, but only if you like great food, wine and spirits.
google avatar

Carla B.

Yelp
This place use to be good about 15 years ago. Now, it is horrible. Service is consistently bad, food is not as good as it use to be. I told one of the owners three times ago how bad everything was and he didn't see to care. I was told" give us another chance", well it's been three times later and everything is still the same!

John S.

Yelp
Love this place, very consistant food and great wine selection. Eggplant Parm, Seafood, Sandwiches and the Pasta dishes are the best. Wine cost is reasonable with nominal "pop the cork" fee. Irish Dave is a wonderful wine steward, maitre d and generally nice guy. Not sure why there is a negative Yelp review here, perhaps the other Antonio's Yelp review where the Upstairs restaurant and downstairs market/restaurants are linked together may be a better indication of the quality here.

Jared R.

Yelp
Love this place! The fig pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life and all of their pizzas across the board are the best in the Orlando area. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. The prices are good too. Oh, and the desserts are great, especially the lemon cake.
