A new chapter in Singapore's love story with tea - SilverKris

"A café a short bus ride from Little India with a larger, light-filled location on Selegie Road that offers more than coffee: a rotating monthly menu of house-brewed kombucha made in small batches by the head of coffee and research. These kombuchas, crafted with top-quality teas (often oolongs and red teas), are carefully calibrated to be less aggressively acidic than many commercial brands, with recent brews like Fujian Golden Peony Hongcha showcasing floral and plum-like sweetness." - Gwen Pew

Absolutely loved this place! The coffee is good, you can really taste the quality beans. The staff were super friendly and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy, calm, and perfect for catching up with friends. Definitely my new favorite spot in town

Absolutely amazing. The coffee is roasted to perfection and the micro foam on the cappuccino is delicate, mild and works so well with the coffee. The hot chocolate was also remarkable. It was not too sweet, flavorful and had a smoky finish - almost like a whiskey. In addition, the art work on the walls is like a gallery. They had paintings from famous Japanese artists while I was there. You have to visit this place, enjoy the coffee, admire the paintings and enjoy the wonderful service.

They serve very good pour over! It has very cozy and slow atmosphere. It is nice to come here to relax and chat with friends. It is enjoyable to sit at the bar counter to see how the coffee is made, or sit in more comfortable sofa to enjoy time. The staff is super friendly and chill. They don't rush making coffee and each order takes time, so definitely expect a slow process for your order to make.

19/September/2025 Had espresso ($5.50/-), coffee beans from Uganda. Friendly and warm service. Nice ambience that makes me feel at home. Counter seats and table seats available. If you drive, can consider parking at opposite Selegie House open-air carparks. I'll be back for sure.

My first time visiting here with my friend, I discovered this place while browsing Google Maps for the best coffee spots. We noticed that Apartment Coffee had great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. Getting there took me a little longer than expected, especially since my friend got a bit lost walking down from DT13 Rochor station. When we finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the environment, a spacious and open cafe with a cosy atmosphere. They only have a limited number of seats and kindly allowed us to dine in for an hour, so everyone gets a chance to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and even recommended their favourite coffee selections. The coffee was good, though not as strong as I had imagined. I ended up trying a second cup, which was fun two different kinds of coffee, lol! Unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations, but overall, I'd rate the service a 5/5, the coffee a 3/5, the ambience a 5/5, the price a 4/5, and the location a 3/5. So, a total of a 4-star rating for me.

I’ve visited twice, once had a Guatemala pour over and the second time, had their white and Vietnam chocolate. As a concept I really admire what the folks at apartment are doing. Everything they do is minimal and ‘to the point’. The first time I came, I was by myself. I was standing in queue outside. But since they only had space at the bar counter, they bumped me up and gave me a seat within 5 mins. The second time when I entered there was no queue, one of the staff was ready to greet me. I told them that I was early and that another person was going to join me. Knowing they have a 1 hour seating time, I asked if its ok that my friend will join me later. They were considerate and let me sit right away. :) After seating, they are quick to give the menu and a glass of water. This was consistent both times. But I noticed this is almost a protocol even the first time. I find it gives me time to go through their small but detailed menu of single origin coffees, teas and chocolate. The pourover was subtle. I find that the tasting notes become more noticeable as the coffee reaches the warm state rather than hot. The white coffee was confusing in a good way. It was light and creamy. But it resembled the quantity of a cortado. But didnt taste as strong as one. Made me think is it a single shot of espresso. 🤔 The hot chocolate was quite nice as well. It tasted like Im drinking premium chocolate. Not European style concentrated, but thicker than your usual starbucks version. Their menu is small and their setup also is optimised for that. Their seating is limited. All in all you get what you see right in front of you. Theres no hidden kitchen. Theres no outwordly hospitality. Its just to the point and I love it. An added note, I do find there is attention to detail in how the menu is made of a real non coloured paper, the aesthetic translates to even their choice of furniture and cutlery. The coffee mug that the white and chocolate are served in are heavy and almost like you are holding a piece of stone. Which made it feel really good to hold and drink. Noteworthy: they dont serve food. So if you’re looking to eat something, then go someplace else rather than blaming them for it. Haha. 10 on 10 experience!

🟧 Apartment Coffee 139 Selegie Road, #01-01 Singapore 188309 🟠 I read from online news that Apartment Coffee on Selegie Road is an award-winning cafe that was ranked sixth (6th) in the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops 2025 list and first in Asia. 🟠 Location = The nearest MRT station is Bencoolen or Rochor MRT station ( about 7 mins walk from either station). 🟠 This cafe is actually nestled on the ground floor of a heritage conserved shophouse building and right next to it is Wilkie Edge, a large mall. ➖️ If you are driving like us, park your car at Wilkie Edge's basement, and walk over. 🟠 Apartment Coffee's menu is primarily focused on coffee and does not serve food. The cafe serves a variety of coffee drinks, emphasises ethically sourced beans, and does not offer takeaway service. ➡️🔴 They open daily from 10am to 6pm. 🔵 Decor / Ambience ************************ 🔵The cafe has a minimalist interior with clean white walls, polished concrete floor, pale wood furniture and an uncluttered layout. ➖️ The atmosphere feels serene and airy, with a strong Japanese-Scandinavian influence. It’s soothing, and designed for customers to enjoy their coffee in a peaceful space. 🔵 Seats = a large wooden communal table with wooden chairs sits in the middle of the space. ---- Bar counter seats are also available.▪︎ Banquettes ( ie upholstered benches) and wooden benches line against the other walls. 🟫 My husband and ordered two flat whites. ___________________________________ 🟫 Their white coffee (ie flat white) are made with the El Salvador & El Borbollon Sensory beans. 🟫 The flavour notes were clear — milk chocolate, almond and a hint of dried fruit. ----- The coffee milk was smooth, well-balanced and naturally sweet, with a gentle nutty depth coming through the milk. A well-crafted cup. 🟩 Service = The service crew were attentive, friendly and polite. The moment they spotted me at the entrance doorway, a team member came over and led us to our seats. 🟩 Our orders were taken and in a short while, our coffee milk arrived. Overall, it was a good experience. I could see many customers working on their laptops too. 🟩 I hope to go again another time in the near future to try their other coffee flavours. 🟩 Dec 2, 2025 Tues evening.

Given the stellar reputation and strong track record of this establishment, I'm not sure theres much value I can add with my review. Nevertheless, I will say that this coffee shop exceeded my expectations on every possible level. Had the Bolivian Uchumachi hand-pour coffee, Ugandan Manafwa latte, and the Malayan Semai hot chocolate. The taste was so smooth. Extremely clear that it's the best coffee I've ever tasted, given that I'm comparatively a coffee philistine. My girlfriend though, who is more of an coffee aficionado, also praised it highly. We both discussed the flavor notes as stated on the menu, and found them appropriate and insightful. The latte was also amazing. Since I'm personally a hot chocolate kiddo in terms of taste, we ordered that as well. This was an exceptional hot chocolate as well! I had no idea Malaysian chocolate was so good. Had expected their focus to be more on coffee, but was pleasantly surprised. The shop clearly put a large amount of effort into their non-coffee items, which is not at all what I'd expected. Not personally a fan of the decor and lack of signage. But to be perfectly objective, I can appreciate the wabi-sabi look and philosophy they're going for. Consistent and well done, and that also applies to the furniture and kitchenware. Girlfriend was highly appreciative of the look as well. The service here was exceptional as well. While the shop was packed and had a gigantic queue outside, the staff still made a point of giving personal service. Since they were so busy, I tried to make it easy for them by moving to the counter to address the staff. They made a point, however of coming over to the table to make sure the needs of each member of my party were met, and in a smooth and polished fashion. Color me impressed.

Yelp
Apartment Coffee inhabits a renovated shophouse interior of a historical streamline moderne building along Selegie Road across from NAFA. With full height glass storefront , the space exudes a calm gallery vibe where the coffee service bar is located right at the entry door. We were greeted warmly upon entry and shown to our seat of choice at the large communal table located in the center. Austere interior finishes of polished concrete floor and a muted palette is balanced with a curated collection of artwork on the wall. Drinks: I ordered a flat white which has been my go-to at all the cafes I visit as it's been a good barometer of both coffee quality and barista's skills. While the foam art was well executed- I can't say it's the best flat white I've had hence the 4 stars. But Service and ambience was definitely lovely.
