The Twin Cities’ New Restaurant Openings of Fall 2022 - Eater Twin Cities

"Brian and Sarah Ingram’s Duluth outpost of the Apostle Supper Club is already open in the iconic rotating space atop the Radisson Hotel. By mid or late September, the St. Paul location will be too. The Apostle takes its cues from Palm Springs supper clubs of the 1960s — the St. Paul menu isn’t available yet, but the Duluth menu highlights decadent mid-century fare like the “Yabba Dabba Doo” (chicken-fried lobsters, shrimp scampi O’s, and a hefty bone-in short rib) cheese fondue, and chilled crab claws and prawns. The cocktail menu also has a heavy ‘60s influence, from grasshoppers to espresso martinis. There’ll be a piano bar and retro lounge, too." - Justine Jones

Marty’s Deli Sandwich Pop Up Opening Permanent Location in Northeast - Eater Twin Cities

"In the latest art-as-currency news, chef and restaurateur Brian Ingram has partnered with Joey Africa, a Chicago-based mixed media artist, to launch a 71-piece collection of nonfungible tokens, reports Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal. Purchasers of the NFTs will be given access to a special lounge in the Apostle Supper Club, Ingram’s upcoming restaurant. (He and his wife Sarah Ingram are adding the Apostle to their Twin Cities restaurant roster, which includes Hope Breakfast Bar and the Gnome Craft Pub.) Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Ingrams’ nonprofit, Give Hope. Pieces from the NFT collection start around $2000 (to be paid in cryptocurrency, as it goes), and purchasers will receive both the digital asset and a physical piece of art — unless they don’t want it. In that case, the Biz Journal reports, the painting will be burned (burned!) to “maintain its rarity.”" - Justine Jones

Such a cool spot with a unique, speakeasy vibe that feels both retro and modern. Every dish I tried was fantastic, but the cheese fondue was on another level—rich, creamy, and so flavorful! The drinks were also incredibly well-crafted, adding to the whole experience. Perfect place if you’re going on a date ;)

Google
I would rank the service less than zero if I could. Hostess couldn’t tell us what seat we could sit at. Waiting 40 minutes for a drink finally allowed to order $120 worth of food. Food comes. No silverware or napkins. No drinks that were ordered 20 min ago at the same time as the food. Could not have been more disappointed I. An experience I was looking forward too

Poor service moody bar tenders Very salty happy hour food chicken overly salty the best options are now off the happy hour menu. I sat outside Adam took my order and never made it, after waiting 8 minutes to even be acknowledged as I was fixing to leave he’s like I was just going to make that I came inside to the bar he still didn’t make my drink. Had to tell someone else I’m still waiting for my drink the girl made it and it wasn’t that good they don’t like when you come in for happy hour as they try to give you the regular menu as soon as you come in even tho you state your here for happy hour Adam got a attitude because the host gave me the regular menu and I said I need the happy hour menu lol he storms away took my order never even made my drink I’ve witness so many people get scammed by that expecting happy hour and they pass you a regular menu and don’t think twice about offering happy hour why give it out if you have an attitude about it! I don’t understand that logic once my friends came they finally perked up because they are only interested in your tip and they ordered food and couldn’t even enjoy it because the fries as coated in seasoning salt and so is the chicken had no oysters available even tho it’s on the happy hour menu and it was on the earlier side. Shrimp skewers wasn’t good slight burnt taste. They cleared the table as I was talking to the waitress fixing to leave turn around to finish my drink and their bar back tossed the drink the girl offered to make me a new one and I declined as I was ready to get out of that place. I use to come all the time and I stopped coming for a reason tried it again and service is just poor food isn’t good anymore management clearly changed never again

Holy brunch Batman! The brunch is such a delightful departure from the norm! Luau brunch has everything you could possibly dream of -kings Hawaiian French toast bake? Island fried rice? The list goes on! Gage was fantastic and kept the visit smooth and fun☀️ The best Mai tai I have EVER had!

The atmosphere and location here are outstanding, plus the food was delicious. The chicken entrée was so delicious. We came here as a large group (6) before a concert across the street at Xcel. The server was good about balancing multiple checks for our party. The place looks really fun to visit again and see the piano bar staffed and experience the tiki hut bar.

We had such an incredible experience last night! My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner, drinks, and a long overdue catch-up session at this amazing restaurant. From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. Our server, Athena, went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic time. The service was truly second to none - attentive, friendly, and simply amazing. We were seated in a cozy area with a lovely view of the fireplace, and the soft flickering lights at our table created a warm and inviting ambiance. Every detail seemed to be carefully thought out to make our evening even more enjoyable. The rest of the staff was equally fantastic, and the manager's presence really set the tone for a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. And let's talk about the food – it was absolutely phenomenal! The chefs and sous chefs are clearly masters of their craft, and the bar staff created some of the most incredible drinks. While the prices may seem a bit steep, the portion sizes were more than generous, and we found that we could easily make a meal out of the appetizers alone. It was a dining experience filled with laughter, fun, and of course, absolutely delicious food. Can't wait to go back! ____________________ -Old review This place is fantastic and in a lively location. When you walk in it is very clean and has lots of color. It has lots of plants and windows giving it a very comfortable feel. I took a friend here to celebrate and we started out with a bottle of Veuve. Our server Gear was amazing and on top of things. He made a few recommendations while we sipped on bubbly and decided to start with the garlic Naan and the campechana. The Naan came with all types of spreads and the portion size was large. The champechana was also divine! For the main course, we ordered the tempura fried lobster and short ribs pappardelle. The lobster was an assortment of flavors and was like eating a giant tempura sushi roll. It had crunch and flavor and the portion size was good too. In my opinion, there was too much sauce and extra items and after the starters, we were already stuffed. The pappardelle was rich and creamy and the meat fell apart and melted in your mouth. This dish was absolutely heavy and delicious and made me regret getting the lobster. The manager or owner I am not sure who it was but spent time visiting tables making sure everything was up to standards and providing that white glove service. The rest of the staff was very attentive keeping our water glasses filled and they were very quick to clear our tables. This is the type of service that is not seen anymore in America and I'm so happy that management and the staff were so customer service oriented. I absolutely loved their very large outdoor area and the night we went there was live music. Considering the very very large American-sized portions this place is not very expensive in comparison to other establishments. I hope to make another trip here very soon. Thank you all for making the occasion memorable we both had an amazing time.

This was a wonderful Brunch and a beautiful place to eat. I was very impressed with the space. I am coming back to check out the tiki bar on the patio this summer!

We have been waiting to go here for a year. Finally made it, only to be very disappointed. Now the food was excellent. Our waitress ignored us most of the night, our table was very dark. Was told a lamp would be coming. It never came. We were off by the kitchen which I love to see. What was not good is the entire wait staff used the area for all personal belongings. It really took away from the atmosphere. I won't be in a hurry to return.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped out to the Apostle last minute to celebrate and we were greeted by the hostess and manager Tony who was very nice and made us last-minute accommodations so that we could enjoy the amazing unplanned trip. We were catching up and wanted some good food and a good glass of wine and Tony made our evening. This place has not disappointed us yet. We ordered one of my favorite dishes and it was not right we mentioned it and we were ok eating it but our server Alisha was amazing and made some great recommendations and insisted if it was not right to send it back. We did and a replacement was brought back that tasted just like the last time. Everything else was 5/5 and as always the staff was fantastic as well as the food. I will definitely be going back again soon. Thank you Alisha and Tony for fixing the problem and your amazing customer service and for continuing to improve the customer experience and satisfaction!

Yelp
First of all, they were out of shrimp cocktail, and prime rib bites, baked potatoes, broccoli, mashed potatoes, and au gratin potatoes, and rib eye steak. Once we SETTLED on vegetables as our sides. The New York strip (wich was 68$) was dry and thin and chewy. And then we ordered the chocolate lava cake as dessert, and it was basically hersheys chocolate sauce soup in a bowl (see photo). The service was ight at best and they forgot one of my drinks. I ordered an espresso martini and she never brought it. All of this goes back to how the management staff is run. It's not organized at all. And we had to wait a while for everything. One thing I did notice was that the food runner was very u happy with her job. She just dropped of the food no smile. The ambiance was okay, there was a tiki bar randomly.

Yelp
For starters my brunch/ happy hour bestie and I had been talking about coming to this restaurant since the day it opened We just never found the perfect time, but ... Saturday night just seems like the perfect opportunity leading into the holiday to check this gem out and boy was it worth it. Making a reservation online was quick and painless. When we showed up we were immediately greeted by very sweet host The host sat us in what we've decided was the best seat in the house. She sat us in a wall booth just behind the hostess stand that gave us a perfect view of the big A over the kitchen the amazingly fun piano bar the appropriately winter wonderland decorated tiki bar and had a perfect view of the roaring fireplace in the back dining room. It was like 4 little restaurants in one. We were then greeted by a very lovely, attentive, sweet server (I feel so bad All I know what she was a very pretty young lady and her name started with a "K" (perhaps it was Kainani But I honestly, unfortunately can't remember but either way she was amazing). She offered to start us off with drinks We both decided to go with the Dona Paula Malbec which was perfect. We then share the lobster bisque and the artichoke dip (I like to think myself a bit of a dip connoisseur and this is by far one of the best artichoke dips I've had in a long time It was so good I took some home) For our entree We got the shrimp scampi and the crispy chicken thighs... The scampi was great , (And again our server was so attentive and accommodating She asked the kitchen about taming down the spice a bit for my gal pal and they obliged and it was just the perfect amount and our server even came back to check to make sure that it was done just right.... And it was!)but the chicken was beyond amazing I will definitely get that again It was in the perfect parsley butter garlic sauce the chicken was cooked to perfection it was so juicy and tender inside with the perfect flavorful crisp skin I can't say enough great things about it. We're not really dessert gals but we had coffee and just enjoyed each other's company and the ambience until it was time to leave. We're disappointed that we'd waited so long to enjoy this beautiful venue It's so great to have a place like this downtown St Paul I would say this place is perfect for happy hour, holiday party, date night, an anniversary dinner party or just a relaxed night out with friends. We will definitely be back there's a few things on the menu I have my eye on that I can't wait to try. I would highly recommend Apostle!!

Yelp
We went here before a Wild game. It's very close to parking and the xcel so great place to have some food and a cocktail before the game. We had reservations. I noticed the early reservations were filling up quickly game day. We were seated upon arrival. It's a fun atmosphere. Kind of supper club kind of eclectic. We started with a Caprese salad. Loved the two tomato varieties for the colors and textures but I thought the little round mozzarella cheese balls were not the right choice. Some fresh mozzy would have made it so much better. I chose the prawns for my meal. They came as full bodies on my plate. I don't have an issue with tearing off body, heads, etc it's just that is so much work. You only eat the tails so I'd rather just have the tails. I also asked for cocktail sauce. I got a large bowl for $5 extra dollars. Would have been happier with a free catchup sized portion. Service was excellent. I stole a few of husband's fries. They were soooo good.

Yelp
Apostle Supper Club is such a classy establishment. The decor, the live music, the deep green upholstered booths and all the neat details throughout are very tasteful. Definitely need to return for some of their themed nights. The ambiance in this restaurant is top-notch. I love live music and they had a piano player at the bar. The large green booths are very grand. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to our main course. I had the Short Rib Papadelle, which was excellent. It was very filling and wholesome. My companion had the Luigiini Rosa and said it had an unexpected chicken of spice. For dessert, we shared the pineapple upside down cake.

Yelp
I previously visited the Apostle Supper Club last year with a friend and remember telling Husband that he had to go back with me because he'd love it and I added it to our list... finally over a year later we made it back . We started with the fried green tomatoes app which I really enjoyed. I do wish they were cut a little thinner, but like I said, still really good flavors. For my meal I had the Grilled Tomahawk Porkchop which was cooked really well and I really enjoyed the mushroom sauce. Husband had the Short Rib Pappardelle which was also good. We were warned that our server was busy and service may be a bit slow, so we were prepared and definitely understanding of the situation, but it would be a lie to say it didn't impact the overall experience.

Yelp
Visit St. Paul has a Patio Passport program that led us to here. We stopped in on a Sunday evening and they were not busy at all. We were able to choose between the dining room or patio but it was a bit chilly so we opted for a dining room table near the open doors. I generally loved the decor and dark green color scheme as well as the tiki vibes. We mostly stopped in for drinks so I can't comment much on the food. Someone did order the fried green tomatoes and crab croquettes at our table. They said the crab croquettes were good but they did not care for the fried green tomatoes. For drinks we ordered the False Eyedoll, Pomegranate Spritz, Lemongrass Reviver, Washington Apple & a few shots of vodka. The cocktails were good, I enjoyed them. Our waitress was also the bartender and she was very nice and attentive. It was my friend's bday and she gave her a glass of champagne to celebrate! Being near the Xcel Energy Center there's paid parking lots and ramps as well as meters that are free on Sundays unless there's an event.

Yelp
The lobster bisque was inedible. It looked terrible, like no bisque I've ever had before. It looked BBQ sauce with a couple pieces of lobster. It tasted like tomato paste. The wedge salad was dry. Overall not a good meal.

Yelp
Wednesday night happy hour! We had reservations, but the tiki bar was open, so we sat there versus the dining room. We got a front row seat to watching the busy bartenders make drinks. It was a gorgeous May evening so the patio was where people wanted to be. Menu prices can be spendy so we such to the happy hour menu. Chicken tinga tacos were slightly spicy but good. Burger was good too. Liked the soft bun. Fries looked seasoned but didn't taste like they were. No condiments given with burger or fries. I like the 1970s art deco (?) theme, and the tiki bar and tiki patio. I wouldn't mind coming back with more people

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl didn't see that the place closed at 10pm. That's pretty early for an establishment downtown St. Paul. The service was nothing to rave about. Cute aesthetic and the food was decent. Parking is a block away off-street parking or a parking ramp around the corner. I wouldn't choose to go back myself.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here a few months ago for some cocktails. Cute, fun lil spot. Definitely over priced but for the location and the ambiance i guess it makes sense. When I was there, there was a live singer with piano which was pretty cool! Drinks were standard, nothing insane. Good service, great bartenders. If I'm in the area and want a fun lil drink and a cool vibe I'll head here!

Yelp
My husband and I loved the Apostle Supper Club. If you're looking for a fun date night we highly recommend. The atmosphere was casual yet dressy at the same time. The lighting was darker and felt more intimate, but they had such fun decor, someone playing the piano and a tiki bar. Entertaining night for sure! Location: downtown Saint Paul, so some nights I could see this getting a lot busier and harder to park. We parked in the ramp near by and didn't have to walk far. Food/Service: Food was super fun and delicious; definitely on the pricier side. We loved the Minnesota twist items like the spam tacos and the pickle rolls up; a fancy way to elevate some MN staples. Waiter was super nice and friendly; gave great drink recommendations and checked in with us frequently

Yelp
The $55 movie, dinner, and popcorn deal seemed great initially. Its Summer, lets enjoy it while we can. It was all good, until it wasn't. I went w/ a friend to see Purple Rain on the 5th of Aug. The online total was $61 including tax. Not the case for Aug. 18th for Bridesmaids. A 20% service change was added on the front end by The Apostle Supper club for total of $73. When our check arrived for our drinks, a large party charge of 20% was added PLUS a health and wellness charge of 4%(5.99) for a grand total of 75.68. That's $148 altogether! Absolutely not. The waitress (who was wonderful) was unaware a service charge was added on the front end. Manger was requested and bill was adjusted w/out him/her coming out. It's really bad business. I feel bad for the waitress and other movie goers. There's NO justification for this. And popcorn was not included tonight. lbs it's disappointing as I really wanted to visit the place outside of these events. I won't be back. The Ambiance, and food was good. The service overshadowed all of this.

Yelp
It is tough for any restaurant to handle surge crowds on event nights next to the Xcel Center. They did not do well. Their bar staff backed up early. We canceled our last drink order after 20 minutes. Food was okay. Not great. Location of course was nice. Next time we will walk down the block.
google avatar

Yelp
I was craving the burger from Apostle and went before a Wild game. We had a reservation, but we were treated like we were walk ins and they were doing us a favor by sitting us at a table. The high top table itself looked cool and part of the art deco vibe, but wasn't comfortable. I kept sliding off of the chair and there wasn't a good place to put my feet. The lighting in the restaurant is already pretty dim and our light on our table went out. Our serve either didn't notice or didn't care to change the batteries in the light leaving us basically sitting in the dark. The first time I ate at Apostle I had great service. This time we didn't receive a garnish dish, the server never wrote our order down and had to come back twice to ask us what we ordered. Then forgot something on the order; which caused it to not come out until we were basically ready to leave. Yes they were busy, but I didn't feel they were swamped. Especially since when we made the reservation the day before there were plenty of options to choose from. Game day parking is also a doozy at $35.

Yelp
We got to check out the apostle supper club during the St. Paul jazz fest. It was one of the spots on the tour that was having live music. We first sat at the bar and had some delicious burgers and the potato purée, I was pleasantly surprised. The mai tais were ok, I've definitely had better. I would say the bar service was mediocre, after a while we wanted to move closer to the music and there was some spots open so we moved closer and had an espresso martini to end the night. The table service was much better and good ending to the night.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere although I was hoping to see the saxophone player too. Service was great and attentive. The vibe is 60-70s tiki party which is a nice change for the area. The price of food and drinks was heavily overpriced. Would go again for drinks and apps but not for dinner.

Michael Y.

Yelp
So very disappointed. Reservation 2 hours before we had to attend the show at the Xcel. They offered Valentine's special for 2 with soup or salad, Limited menu entree of Shrimp scampi or Prime Rib, a side and dessert. Coming from the Restaurant world this should be an easy option. So 3 of the couples ordered the special. We finally had received our entrees delivered 7:10pm from order to entree was just under 1.5 hours. Entrees come out 2 couples have had no salad delivered and my friend never received his Prime Rib at all. We shared our food with him so he could eat before the show. One couple received one salad and the not the other. The Prime Rib was 50% fat and when he asked for a knife to cut the Prime Rib it was not only never delivered but ignored by the waitress upon additional request. We asked for our checks when food delivered and dessert request made so we could make the show after now planning to miss the opening acts due to the mess we were experiencing and hopefully assist the service staff. Desserts never arrived and check took forever. The Assistant Manager rude and the Manager even worse. He stated to my friends about the desserts. Does it really matter that they were not received WOW. So no salads no dessert and for one friend no dinner. That is a great deal for $129 NOT. They after working on this made some compensation but what a terrible Valentines Dinner and embarrassing me and my wife as we had planned the evening. Another group of four we met leaving the Apostle had just as bad of an experience as they could not get service or management to assist wit checks so they each left $100 on the table to get to the show. The Manager threated them with a felony for leaving money on the table and a disaster of a Valentines Dinner for them as well. I guess we can say we were not alone. We will not be back nor the other group of strangers we met only through adversity and disappointment. DO BETTER.

Nicole S.

Yelp
We went here on 2/13 for a birthday dinner. We booked last minute for a larger group and the fact there were multiple openings available should have been my first red flag. The location does not have accessible parking. We ended up valeting at the hotel where we were supposed to be given two free drinks. Right when we walked in the building, there was an unhoused person sitting in the front entry. We were ignored by bartenders, not given the free drinks supposedly provided by valeting the vehicle. We also were ignored by our servers. My meals came out wrong. All in all, none of the 8 guests liked the place. Terrible service.

Yelp
We had reservations before the Tim McGraw concert got in prior to our reservation time and seated in a nice 1/2 booth for 2. Water was kept full. Beverages delivered quickly. I had the Ahi tuna bowl recommended it was delicious and I had leftovers packaged nicely to take back to the hotel. My SIL had steak frites which she said was very good way heavy on the fries. We also shared asparagus fries so delicious and again a large portion. Really enjoy the restaurant.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the staff was extremely kind and accommodating! The drinks were good, however premixed and definitely tasted like it. We ordered the bread board as an appetizer and it was good but for the price of $20 I would expect a bit more than a one-streak smear of the dips on a board with 8 bread pieces. Athena, our server was wonderful!

Yelp
Amazing experience!! We ordered a caesar salad, prime rib, and double smash burger. All were delicious, and you'll want to drink the horseradish cream sauce that accompanies the prime rib. Service was quick, attentive, and kind. Atmosphere A+++. Truly a gem!

Denny G.

Yelp
Not sure what the fuzz is about this place but the food is ok. I was reading some of the comments thinking it would be great food but truly it's not worth the price, even the table next to us complaint about their food being bland with no taste. They had to bring this lady her shrimp dinner once more because the first was not good. I ordered the Filet Mignon as red as they allow and somehow they burnt each side and had no flavor whatsoever which is a first but could taste the burnt outer. Got the potatoes creamy thing the waitress recommended because the other potatoe side was out or something, and again nothing but the taste of the cheese was the best part of that. Also, the place was not busy which was great because they sat us quick but the waitress took forever for our table and the next one to us. Maybe short staffed. I think if you're going to go, still try it but it's not worth the price. Go to BLG, or jD or other spots for a much better experience and much better food. Specially is you're getting steak or pasta.

Yelp
I had a reservation with two friends at Apostle for 8 PM but unfortunately waited 35 minutes before being greeted (while there were many empty tables and many servers on the floor). During our two-hour visit, we only saw our server twice--once to take our orders nearly an hour into our reservation, and again to deliver the bill. The service from both our server and the bartender was disappointing, which is especially unfortunate given the lovely ambiance of the restaurant.

Yelp
It's never a good sign when the online menu omits the prices of all the food and drink. My party of 5 went on 5/18/23 by reservation at 7pm on a Thursday. The club was not crowded and the service was efficient. The atmosphere was cozy, though very dark, and very loud given the open kitchen. I will admit that this type of restaurant isn't my usual choice, but we were celebrating my sister's graduation from grad school, and she wanted a fun night out. The drinks were amazing, we ordered the mai tai, painkiller, and the false eyeroll and all were delicious (warning, they're very strong). Everyone was okay with what they ordered, but blown away, but also not awed. Our check at the end of the night was over $300, which doesn't encourage us to come back again for a meal. Bathroom: somewhat clean but the floor was very sticky. Note for the hard of hearing: this restaurant has an open kitchen, so it's very hard to hear the conversation even if you're far away from the kitchen. There's also live music that adds to the noise. Note for the visually impaired: this restaurant is DIM. My mother had to use her phone's flash light to read the menu. Parking: parking ramps nearby, street parking near impossible

Yelp
Updating my review to three stars, because I've never eaten something and went WOW that's pretty good. Everything is fine, but the vibes are great.

Yelp
BEST BRUNCH SPOT IN TOWN! Best bottomless mimosas too! Since this was top tier bottomless mimosas I have to give it a special highlight! First off, they don't premake them! Special shot out for that, so I could make my own blood sugar spike if I wanted to. Secondly, their juice options are soo good you will probably end up drinking the juice plain, or at least we did. We opted for the POG juice. Pineapple orange guava. If you just want a solid bottomless mimosa spot. This is it. On next to the food. Presentation, on point. Quality, wonderful. Taste, spot on! All of it was good! Special shout-out to the creamiest eggs I've ever had! Get the ricotta eggs, great choice. The French toast and the spam Benedict were a top fave as well! The venue, you feel like you're in Palm Springs! Seriously the decore is classy and done exceptionally well. Bonus points for the shag rug wall on the way to the bathroom!!! We loved that there was a piano player there while we were eating breakfast, he even played some Elton John for us! We will be back and this time for dinner!

Yelp
This is probably one of the more unique spaces in the Twin Cities. It was kind of mod '70s, but also had a tiki hut? It was a little confusing honestly. It had a lot of cute Instagrammable spaces though, which was fun. I really enjoyed the live piano and singing. It set a really great mood for brunch. Not only was the space a little confusing, but so was the menu. There didn't appear to be a clear theme for the food. I got the quiche, which wasn't great. Very standard. Definitely could've used more seasoning--it was borderline flavorless (I didn't even finish it). I actually enjoyed the mixed greens salad that came with it more... it was really light and refreshing! With the food, I got the bottomless bubbles and also got a carafe of cranberry juice so that I wasn't just drinking straight champagne. At first they were painfully slow with the refills, but it eventually picked up and they kept my glass full, which I really appreciated. Our server was incredibly friendly and personable and had strong opinions on menu items, which is exactly what I look for when asking for recommendations. Overall it was a decent experience! Might go back and try something else on the menu to see if my opinion on the food changes.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience with Gage taking care of a big party of us last night! Food was delicious (creamed corn and fries were stealth winners among the great burgers too), drinks were fun and creative, and Gage guided us right with all our selections including a member of our group with a challenging allergy. We're a big group in town for a relative in the hospital and we've gone to dinner three nights in a row in the area, and Apostle was the best by far!

Yelp
I'll start off by saying we were stopping here before Queen and made reservations for 5:30. We were warmly greeted and made aware of a strict 90 minute seating...so this wasn't sprung on us. We ordered some delightful cocktails and the cauliflower al pastor which was awesome. While we were enjoying this our server took our entrees orders and got us another round of drinks which were again fabulous. My wife ordered the winter Farro bowl which was fabulous and I ordered the pork ragout & orecchiette while good seemed to be low on the meat and if I'm being honest I feel like we make better at home. This place is top notch especially the service, however the time limit on the seating just ruffled my feathers a bit. I like to spend some time at a supper club and had we not been hurried out(manager or owner came by and asked us to leave) we would have ordered at least 2 more rounds of drinks.

Yelp
The butter board is a must with truffled mushroom, savory herb and spicy chili butters For the main course I had the chicken fried lobster with kale Dessert was obviously a delicious espresso martini I loved the decor but it was very loud, I couldn't even hear the person at my table so if you're looking to have a quiet intimate dinner this is not the place.

Yelp
Sat. Jan. 18th went down to Apostle to see and hear the piano player. After sitting at piano rail and never getting service I went to the bar. After waiting over 10 minutes, I asked for a drink. The male bartender saw me at least 5 times and never said "hi, I be with you in a minute " would have been fine but nope. So the female bartender finally took my order and made my drinks. I gave her cash, "oh I can't make change, you will have to wait" so than the male bartender came back , he used his key to make change. Which one means he is going to delete my order and take the money, so dis-honest employee Top it off he didn't give me the correct change back, plus kept the coins, $.77. After all this I tried to get another drink as the bartender walked by and i asked him for one, never got it, than asked a server and he totally ignored me. Horrible service, plus servers and bartenders hair are long and should be pulled back for health code reasons.

Yelp
We arrived 7:30 on a Friday night August 2024. No events at Xcel so restaurant maybe 2/3 full. Started slow no service for 10+ minutes. Then bartender saw us. He delivered Old Fashioned to me & Tiki style drink for my gal. Strong drinks!! Because all the drinks there are very fruity and sticky thee were several fruit flys that came with them. I didn't really care I have them at home this time of year too. Just took care of them myself no problem. Gal had the SHORT RIB PAPPARDELLE and I had the TOMAHAWK PORK CHOP. We shared and both tasted outstanding we both agreed. It was my birthday so we added dessert of Beignets, popularized in New Orleans. After slow start service was very good. Piano bar was great. We sat at high top rail and listened/watched young lady perform (Loved "Zombie" Cranberries Dolores O'Riordan rendition). Tipped her on way out. Vibe was great. 60's Tiki old school bit. Like they say Palm Springs decor. Definitely going back. Parking across street in what is now Wild Bill's Saloon. 1 minute walk.

Yelp
We came for happy hour (served 4-7pm) and were surprised at how great the deals were. We got two tiki cocktails ($6 each), two burgers ($7 each), and a basket of loaded chips ($7) and that made for a great dinner date. Will be back for their dinner menu for sure!

Yelp
Every staff member we spoke to was very positive and polite. It was a busy Saturday; so thankful we had a reservation! The artichoke dip is legit! I was there with my best friend and our husbands. It was a tight fit because they are both over 6' in the U shaped booths. . Also; the olive tray is a joke. ‍ like everyone else says. I feel like they need to revisit the whole idea of the olive tray. Whole olives with pit!?!? I was surprised by the reviews. I think people just need to be kind and respectful BUT use your voice IF something isn't quite right. We were about to be seated at a high top in the bar but our reservation was for the dinning area. I mentioned this to the hostess. She double checked it and brought us right over to the booth. She was very polite. I also love that there were people of ALL shapes and sizes and colors. Sometimes places like this are just full of white boomers.

Yelp
I am ssooo soo very disappointed! We are group of friends they enjoy coming here on Valentine's Day! we went there last year and it was perfect! went there this year (2025) and it was the worse service I have ever had in my life!! We ordered the Valentine's Day dinner special for 2. i never got my salad and it took over 2 hours to get a salad.. mind we had a show at excel to get too. well only 1 person got a salad and then one person did not get a meal at all. which the waitress argued that with him!! my husband never got a steak knife for the prime rib and then tried to charge them full price for a meal they never got! or a salad or a dessert! she then said we can box the desserts up - what to carry into excel! then the manager yes manager actually walked away and said I'm not dealing with this!! then another manager came and argued and then said what do you wanna fight about it!! what?! we just dontrhink we should pay full price for a meal we did not get! we would of paid just not full price! the worse service I have ever experienced and so sad as this place is amazing and love it but will never go back!!

Yelp
I wish I could give this a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to a 4 because my general experience here was great! Apostle Supper Club is the new 'it' instagrammable spot in the cities, and I went to check it out with a couple of foodie friends! BE WARNED: Parking is extremely difficult to find here, especially if there's any sort of special event at Xcel or it's just a busy day downtown. I ended up having to park in a $20 event lot, so I might as well have Ubered - I also would've Ubered for their great drinks/brunch drink deal. Apostle is a beautiful take on the 70's supper club - it literally feels like an eclectic 70's lounge, it kinda felt like I was on a movie set it was so immersive. I also love the little tiki bar addition. I think the decor alone makes this a great special occasion place or just an excuse to get cute and take some pictures (which I did!). We were seated in the back area that had a beautiful fireplace, fun wallpaper and upper-wall mirrors. Everywhere I looked there was a new piece of decor to look at. For drinks, there's lots of fun options for alcohol - I wish there were a few more non-alcoholic versions. I was about to go for their Apostle Coffee, but it had both espresso and coffee in it and I was scared I'd be too wired. I had decided on getting one mimosa since I was driving, but the bottomless was $1 more so I opted for that thinking they would be the normal tiny flutes you get anywhere else. Boy was I wrong - they send over goblets of champagne with your juice of choice on the side. We went with the POG (passionfruit, orange & guava) and it was delicious. Cut the taste of the champagne in a good way. For $9 and large goblets of bottomless mimosas, this is a great deal! Our waitress really kept them coming for my friends, but I stuck with sipping my one that lasted the couple of hours we were there. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive and quick. She also gave some great recommendations! She said the french toast tower was some of the best she's had, so we opted to try it as an appetizer. It was delicious and rich with a bourbon syrup and carmalized bananas, however I don't really think this was worth $24. Luckily, I shared it with friends but the french toast was nothing super special in my opinion. We also thought the tower would be taller/on a stick - when it's really just a big stack. For brunch myself, I ordered the Quiche after our waitress also recommended it. She said it was made in house and the day's flavor was a Mediterranean - feta, spinach, tomatoes. Sounded great to me so I ordered. I'm thinking maybe this wasn't the right thing to order because it was tasty but really nothing special. Also, the portion size was so small for $16. The side salad was fine, again nothing special except the dressing had a bit of a kick. My friends ordered the shrimp and grits and chilaquiles and loved them, these were also a bit more unique which was fun. Overall, I wouldn't write this place off - definitely do the brunch if you're a more adventurous eater or want to share a bunch of dishes with a bigger group. I definitely want to come back for drinks and apps at night!

Yelp
Great brunch spot! We ordered the bottomless bubbles, which - as the name suggests - is all you can drink Prosecco. You can add a juice carafe for $4 and split that with the table - we chose cranberry but they had lots of options. For food, they have a lot of options for entrees. Kind of strange that so many breakfast entrees come with fried rice? Not sure why. I got the chilaquiles, which was very good and exactly what I expected for breakfast nachos, basically. Service was quick! Ambiance was very 1970s deco with a pianist playing live music the whole time. They have a 2 hour brunch time max, but it felt just right (not rushed or too long- we were ready to leave). Would return!

Yelp
Had a fun night at the supper club. Fun drinks, fine food and good singing piano bar. Only thing is that it just felt forced. It felt like the restaurant was not ment to be here.3 stars didn't hate it, but will I be back, not sure.

Yelp
Some friends and I made a reservation here for brunch since we had seen a lot of pictures of the decor and wanted to check it out. The interior is amazingly decorated like a 70s supper club, it was very mid-century modern with each section of the restaurant having its own vibe. If you love to take pictures and want cool backdrops, this is the restaurant for you! Since we were there for brunch, we opted for the bottomless bubbles with a carafe of the POG juice. The bottomless bubbles were $9 and the juice was an extra $4 but was enough for all 3 of us to split. This was such a good deal and a fun added touch for a girls day brunch. For food, we split the French toast tower (expensive as an entree but absolutely delicious, 6 slices in a tower). The chilaquiles and shrimp and grits were both also pretty good and flavorful. My friend also ordered the quiche of the day and she said although it was tasty it was a lot smaller than expected for the price. Be warned that parking in this area is rough, we paid for a lot but with events occurring so often this gets pricey. Plus, the drinks are great so it's worth it to split an Uber (save $ and stay safe). I would definitely like to come back to try some more drinks at the tiki bar and split some apps with friends!

Yelp
Service: our sales team arrived at 4pm upon opening, we were seated at a table that was near the bar. the bartender was apparently our server and came over for initial drink order for 2 of the six that had arrived, no introduction no recommendations no welcome to our place, just can i get you something to drink. Then quickly scurried away. Bartenders Head was clean shaven, and never stated his name. the second wave of our team arrived by 430pm, the bartender came over again and said can i get you something to drink, seemed inpatient like he had something more important to do so he grabbed the 4 drink orders and quickly back to the bar he went. Unfortunately, he did not access the table needs as the 4pm arrivals were ready for another round by 430pm. so we waited until he was back with the round for the new arrivals. fortunately for us a new server had just come in and stopped and said hi how is everyone tonight. I asked him if he could take our food order since the bartender was not service friendly (AT ALL). the server accommodated our wish and was very friendly. I mentioned we had questions about the offerings, and we went down the line of appetizers and he described them well. Thank You we order the fried tomatoes and croquettes, and he said ok Ill get that right in for you, I said wait a second there is more, and he turned and came back. we also ordered chicken tacos, Pork tacos, Wings, loaded House chips and the Garlic Naan. I asked him if he was going to write anything down, he said no, I got this. Food: All the food looked great and tasted good, the Garlic Naan Never Arrived. Drinks: Drinks seemed to be fine, I asked what brand the HH wine was, and the server said House, I asked again for the brand and then received the answer. the old fashion was good, that Manhattan was terrible and not served in a customary rocks glass, and the luxardo cherry juice added to the Manhattan was way over poured and literally looked like red wine. I mentioned this to the bartender, he did not respond and took my next drink order. One of our sales gals had a tequila sangria and loved it, have a white wine spritzer after that and had to send it back as the flavor was off, reordered the sangria again and that was fine again. Ambiance: The Piano Player was fine The decor seemed to match their Palm Springs theme, rainy day so patio was not open. I'm Sure some of our team may return as individuals one day since the food was good. Hopefully the service standards get raised to and staff show some genuine excitement in their craft. I however will not return,

Yelp
Service: my friend and I stopped in for some salads and an app. Server was great and relatively attentive. Food: salads were pretty good, only had three pieces of shrimp on our salad for an extra $8. Wings had either human hair or chicken "fur" on them and were visible whilst attempting to eat. Wings were extremely salty, we had to literally scrap the salt off the wings so we could eat them. We had told this to the server and he said that the manager would come talk to us. He did not, nor were the wings removed from our bill. Needless to say we will not be returning since the establishment didn't care for our discontentment with the wings nor did the manager attempt to resolve the situation. We are both servers and have worked in the industry for years, it was a very disappointing experience and difficult to type as a fellow server. Ambiance: relatively mediocre, not good not bad.

Yelp
This new spot in St. Paul right next to the Xcel Energy Center is a must-see for the decor alone at a minimum! I'd recommend this spot for a vibey cocktail and perhaps a shareable or two before a show or game. Deets on my recent visit: DECOR: 100/10. This is my kind of ambiance, and they nailed it. There are so many photogenic spots and a 70s Palm Springs vibe throughout! I love the tiki bar, piano bar in the middle, open style kitchen in the back, and fuzzy carpet wall leading to the restrooms. DRINKS: I love that they have an extensive cocktail list and mocktails! I had the Passion Fruit Nojito and really enjoyed it. SERVICE: We sat at the bar and had wonderful service! The staff here is top notch and on their game - great conversation and timeliness at the bar. FOOD: I love that everything served here is very on theme - that's what takes this spot from a restaurant to an experience! We tried a handful of things from the bar/snack menu: - fried spam tacos: a must-get! small but so delish - pickle roll ups: so good and classic; it'll transport you to the 70s - crinkle cut fries: why are these fries so good?! they're so uniquely shaped, too - oreo dip: this was not what we were expecting - oreos with a cream cheese/whipped cream type dip. definitely on theme, just a little boring We steered away from the full menu - lots of the stuff sounded intriguing/nostalgic, but some of the price points were just too high for what we were looking for. Come for the decor, a cocktail and a snack or two - and enjoy the vibes and live piano music!

Yelp
The absolute WORST SERVICE we've had at a restaurant in years, and it wasn't even busy. If you want to pay premium prices to be overlooked and ignored by your server, waiting half an hour for your drink to come to the table and over an hour for your mediocre meal, then give this place a try. The lobster bisque was terrible! Adding insult to injury, we're told by our server at the end of the unpleasant experience that as a party of 6 we're considered a "large group" and there's an automatic gratuity added to our tab. Since when is a table for 6 a large group? Never again.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the service and the food at Apostle Supper Club were not as good as the ambiance the restaurant offered. The drinks and fruit were good. The rest of the food is overpriced and underwhelming.

Yelp
Had a delicious meal at Apostle last night and definitely will be back! The space is a vibe - very palms spring/tiki bar. The art, furniture and lighting are all very funky and make it feel like your transported somewhere warm, certainly pulls you away from downtown St. Paul in January. My husband and I sat at the bar which we'd recommend for the entertainment factor of the chefs and seeing all the food come together. Highly recommend for your first visit as it gives you a sneak preview of all the dishes which helped in our selection process. We started with the whipped ricotta which I am already craving again. Sweet, creamy and so yummy on top of the ciabatta it's paired with. The complimentary relish dish was fun with marinated veggies - the peppers were our favorite! My husband loved his El Royale burger. Double patty with an amazing cheese spread...I had a bite and it was mouthwatering good. The crinkle cut fries were also a gem, perfectly crispy and seasoned. For me, the dish that I'll have to go back for was the Waygu Steak...happens to be the most spendy thing on the menu but damn! it's so worth it!!! Melt in your mouth, beautifully seasoned and the béarnaise sauce it's served with was so good I was eating it solo with a spoon after I'd finished my steak. Our server was great and attentive and provided recommendations that helped us make our selections too. Love this addition to Kellog!

Yelp
Tried my first butter board and it was excellent! I have read about the hype of butter boards but haven't seen one on a menu yet. This place is a great spot to stop before or after a show at the Xcel Energy center. Reservations are definitely a must. We didn't have reservations but arrived right when they opened at 4 o'clock. A line was starting to form right at 4 o'clock and it was practically filled up by the time we left. So I would recommend logging in online to book your reservations well in advance. The three of us sat at the bar and also enjoyed some fun cocktails and the grilled octopus. The ambience inside here is very fun. All the bar staff was very friendly and gave us some good recommendations. The menu is extensive and contains quite a bit of seafood options which is my favorite.

Wonderful time at Apostle Supper Club . We did make a reservation and I would recommend you do ,They do get busy . Jason our server was great he knew the menu very well and could tell you about any of the dishes you asked about . The food was great and definitely recommend it as place to for a nice meal. The place was very clean and had a modern 70's style Supper Club with a Tiki / Piano Bar was very nice relaxing time .
