I love the continual innovation of their site, and expansion of clean beauty, with emphasis on locally made brands as well as the tried and true brands they’ve carried for years. The service is always personal, respectful, and a cup of tea and yummy cake hits the spot after a shopping experience there. They even teach you how to open stubborn lids off of products. 😁 I highly recommend!

Absolutely in love with this place. The owner and the staff are so loving, friendly, warm and creative. The store is a dream!! Did a girl’s day with my friend and took their candle lotion class and it was such a special time. I live a couple hours away but plan to make it to their classes every couple of months. The decoration and the story of the store itself is truly beautiful. They share so much knowledge and it is very noticeable that they are passionate about what they do. Hope you check them out, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Wonderful place for many different kinds of tea and body products. Beautiful inside. Lots of local products. Chill environment. Knowledgeable staff. You can order a flight of three different hot teas to taste, bulk tea purchase, unusual teas on tap slightly carbonated. All yummy!

A true hidden gem. Feels like stepping into France. All of the products smell amazing and they focus on clean ingredients. The tea side is exceptional and the staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I could go on and on about how much I love this place!

I have loved Apothec and the owner for years. She is magical. So knowledgeable and caring. I have taken two of the journal making classes taught by Nycol of Windblown Sister Botanicals and she is phenomenal. She brings so many supplies to use for your journal. It’s a wonderful way to spend 2-3 hours and learn how to make a journal, walking away with a beautiful, personal expression of yourself.

If you wanna have a unique experience where you create perfumes, will you sample different teas and a really cool environment come here. If you're looking for a cheap experience, this is not the place but stuff look like quality. They are Cary Tea and they even have some iced teas on tap so they have a sparkle to them.

What a great experience 😃 the hot tea lattes (Blue Moon and Venus) were out of this world 🌎 incredible flavors! I have never had anything like it. The Persian Love Cake was so delicious 😋 Also so many other things to look at and smell. A beautiful and serene place to visit. Will definitely be back many, many times.

Absolutely beautiful shop, I'm super allergic to scents so I didn't get to enjoy the perfumery side, but it was gorgeous. The tea side was lovely and the lady there very knowledgeable and helpful. Just a beautiful space.

Absolutely love this space. I'm all about wellness, but I love that Apothec takes it very seriously! Come for the Hand-crafted products like hand creams, butters, atmospheric goods like candles, essential oils, herbs, & soaps, explore your own personalized fragrance, and stay for the Carytown tea room where you can explore a new tea blend every single day! I actually enjoy working here on a busy day, as it's pretty quiet and the traffic tends to be pretty steady, plus it always smells good inside. I just found out they host classes regularly, so I'll be back for that!

How have I yleft a review here! Apothec is amazing! I've been to several events here as well as showing this spot off to visiting guests! Just walking in is a transcending experience! It's aesthetically appealing and smells wonderful. I love the teas they have here, blended with unique flavors! The lotions and potions are lovely, the soaps and skin care lines are indulgent and yes, absolutely worth the price! In addition to all of the other gifts, they have lots of artistic jewelry and accessories. Every detail of this exquisite space is methodically thoughtful and eclectic. I love the tiny upstairs solarium filled with gorgeous greenery and plants! The lavender "London fog" tea is heaven!

Thank you for the lovely staff at APOTHEC for welcoming us with such warmth! From the thoughtfully curated restorative libation menu to the overall atmosphere and lush sensory experience, you can tell that the staff and owners approach each detail of the space with care and intention. In terms of drinks, we tried the Sri Lanka Chai (I loved the mango simple syrup) & the Venus-- I highly recommend both and loved them for being just the right amount of sweet. I am looking forward to returning one day soon to attend some of the atelier classes (their make-your-own-journal events stood out to me especially) and to possibly purchase some of their perfumes and other fun accoutrements!

This was a very cute shop selling cosmetic, home decor , and tea. I got the Venus latte ($9) and it was made in about 7 minutes. The jasmine tea flavor was great and wasn't overpowered by the other sweeteners. The inside cafe portion was great and they even had some teas to sample. I quite shocked at how much I really enjoyed this experience. I'd definitely come back! Drink (50%): 8.5 Staff/service(25%): 8.0 Value(25%): 6.5 Overall: 7.9/10

Discovered this little gem while killing time between appointments near Libbie and grove. It's actually two shops in one offering perfumes and body care on one side and mostly tea, pastries and a little coffee on the other and some unique items that would make great gifts. Despite the Richmond water troubles they brewed up a delicious cup of Captain Cocoamint tea (with bottled water) while I browsed their many goods. I also enjoyed the lovely table near the window while I drank my tea.

Bought some hand repair cream for my husband who loves it. It's called "Heal". Smells good inside. Then the other side has the libations of teas, kombucha and such. My son who lives trying different teas loved trying their different drinks.

As soon as you enter the store, your senses awaken to the delightful aromas. In the front area, a sign encourages customers to wash hands before shopping. The left side showcases indulgent body care products like body wash, lotion, hand wash, perfumes, facial items, and home goods like candles and room spray. The right side features a beverage bar with refreshing drinks and carytown teas. The Lavender Tonka body wash and lotion was my favorite sense! I picked up the body wash, lotion, a perfume, and a skin care item. Although the handcrafted, all-natural products come at a premium price, their unparalleled quality makes them well worth it. I visited their website, after shopping, which revealed the store also offers massages, tarot readings, facials, and workshops.

I really had a wonderful experience upon my first visit. I don't know how I happened upon the shop online but I'm a tea fiend so on a quick jaunt to Richmond, I knew I had to spend time here. I stopped by with time to kill, prior to catching the train back to DC. Holly is a gem! She walked me thru the menu and offered great input regarding offerings. I decided on the Sri Lanka Chai and posted up to get some work done. They have seating available along with wifi. Perfect! There's the retail store on one side and the tea bar on the other which I found out, hasn't even been open a year. They have an AMAZING tea collection which is their own brand. And teas on tap! I've been to tea houses in London and stateside, never even heard of tea on tap! Its also a perfumery with amazing products. They offer classes. The scents that waft thru are amazing and it was easy to stay put. So warm and inviting with a fantastic playlist. Picture Sade, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone. Holly and I talked about everything from Parenting to careers, astrology and more! I hope to return soon for an event and more shopping. Oh and the gluten free love cake and the honey and fig, are amazing. I couldn't decide on one so got a slice of both.

I discovered this super cool store on the way home from a trip. I came in the store yesterday, and the girl working was just so amazing. She gave me a run down on all the products, and recommend the better product for me even though that meant I would spend less. I wish I could remember her name because she is the reason I just placed an order online!! So nice to have real people that care about your interaction with their products and not just sales people.

What a lovely and peaceful time at Apothec. The staff was very knowledgeable about their menu, and was happy to teach us about the history of the teas. Absolutely loved the fact that there are samples especially because I'm a beginner. The sassafras tango kombucha mocktail was a must have for someone easing into tea, and the Persian love cake was a delightful gluten free surprise!

I haven't tried the products sold here yet, but it always smells great! I appreciate the lack of harsh lighting. It adds to the calm atmosphere. I always enjoy the coffee and tea! Lots of comfortable seating indoor and outdoor.

Everything about Apothec is enchanting. If you're allured by the facade, wait until you enter the establishment! When you walk in you're enveloped by a delightful smell. Apothec has something for every sense. Smell the perfumes and candles. Taste their delicious healing drinks. Listen to the sounds of the employees grinding herbs. Look at all the beautiful designs and products. And be touched by what you find and experience here. I love bringing friends here for drinks. My absolute favorite drinks are their hot chocolates during winter. They mix fun things like ginger and turmeric into the cocoa. They also offer kombucha, mocktails, and lemonades. The menu changes with the season and is worth a visit for each one. Both the employees and atmosphere here are extremely pleasant. If I could, I would spend hours here. They also offer facials, massages, and other spa services here. I'm hoping to try one in the near future.

For it is here, at this enchanting and magical little spot, that you might find the absolute best smells in the world! You know I have to start with a hint of drama, but bear with me. This cozy little shop has everything to please your senses. Every scent, taste, texture and vision in the place is made with such care and you can feel it when you visit! They have gorgeous custom beverages to enjoy while you shop tea, beauty, skincare, and home goods-- you'll want to plan to be here awhile when you visit. It is almost guaranteed that you'll find what you seek since the staff are so friendly and helpful. I went in with only a description of a smell from weeks ago and came home with exactly what I had come for. Looking forward to many more trips to APOTHEC!

Amazing apothecary! So many items to choose from. Soaps, herbs, teas, perfumes, anything you can think of they have it! They also have additional services like massages and other things. Loved the holistic bar and the owner is super sweet. Looking forward to them expanding and checking out the space!

Closed when we went by despite advertising as open. Completely dark and no signage. Looked cute on yelp and purposely stopped by. Not much else nearby.

From the moment I stepped into this little shop I immediately felt swept away into another world. From the space itself to the service of the staff, everything felt tailored to an old world experience of every day luxury. I ordered a Rosy Dragon tea on tap from their bar and it was amazing! Really makes me question the Lipton I'm drinking at home. Loved seeing the staff making all the ingredients from hand. Given that everything is either made by hand or locally/ethically sourced, I think the prices were really reasonable. I think anyone who is surprised by the sticker price should remember that this is what things *should* cost. Will definitely be back!

What a fun and ethereal experience! Stepping into APOTHEC is like stepping into a serene, whimsical, brooding world where all the beautiful and stimulating scents collide with natural products and tantalizing beverages. Every menu item sounded incredible and the latte I ended up getting was exactly as amazing as it sounded and perfectly poured by the creator herself. It was a little frustrating that there are no prices on any of the items but as they are always being turned over as they're being created and labeled, it's understandable and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and quick to answer any product or pricing questions. Will absolutely be returning for the frosted gingerbread drink coming soon!

I've been a loyal Apothec patron for years, visiting monthly for eyebrow waxing and always leaving with something extra from the apothecary. Tricia and her staff have the best recommendations for seasonal candles, soaps, perfume, tea, chocolate, healing balms, makeup/skincare and more. Whenever friends visit from out of town, Apothec is my first stop to show off a unique small business. Around the holidays, men flock there for gifts for all the women in their lives -- Zoe, Melanie and Ginny have the best advice! I recently had a Tarot Reading party with a few friends and it was an amazing experience for tarot first timers. Don't miss the teas and custom libations in their expanded space!! Can't wait for more workshops and experiences ahead.

It was so lovely to find this gem! I had a Peruvian hot chocolate one day and had to come back the next day for another. Plus they were having a boutique and got a chance to mingle with the vendors and grabbed some lovely stocking stuffers (they were a hit!). Can't wait to visit Virginia again.

Omg, where do I begin? This place is a mini SANCTUARY for the senses! You can smell the health, relaxation, and wellness before you walk inside and you're immediately realizing "ok, this is a safe place, im finally in my mother ship". Jenny is so adorable and full of knowledge and she customized a tea that gave my fussy uterus the hug it needed, thank you doll. The owner was in the back whipping up more nurturing goodness. I spent way too much money on hand wash, insense, and candles but I don't care. In fact I went back and got more. I walked in wholefoods a few weeks ago and saw they had apothic essential oils I IMMEDIATELY purchase the tonka bean (nobody understands what that does to heal my soul. It's so good especially if you've been having a hard time and work in covert toxic environments). I also got the rose geranium which really reminds of this mothership. I'm so grateful this place exists! Can't wait to see you all soon! Lots of love, light, hugs and kisses sent to this place! The decor and vibe is everything it needs to be. :-*

APOTHEC is a wellness oasis that you just have to experience to believe! I wandered in accidentally. I happened to park in front of the shop while i was eating elsewhere. When I got back to my car, I thought I would pop in to APOTHEC to see what it was all about. Boy, was I in for a treat! The staff was lovely, it smelled like heaven, and the shop was so homey and clean. It's the place to be for anything wellness. Everything from CBD oils, custom candles, bath salts, bug repellent, sunscreen, lotion, roller balls, tea blends, etc. Come Christmastime, EVERYBODY on my list is getting something from Apothec, okay! The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. They also have two massage rooms, events, and are building a mocktail bar! This is definitely my new favorite store and I can't wait to go back!

The products and shop are lovely (find better tea elsewhere in RVA) but I was surprised at the profound lack of knowledge among staff, such as how to operate an ordinary essential oil diffuser. Prices are astronomical here, 4 times what one would pay to purchase in-kind products elsewhere. It appears obvious that the owners love money more than people, which is unfortunate, as those who are sincerely interested in apothecary products/homeopathy typically lead from the heart. The product placement, design, staff, and cost at Apothec make clear this shop's ethos is merely performative rather than sincere. Heartbreaking.

Have come to Apothec for years to get awesome gifts....candles, scrubs, lotions etc. Have started to get massages with Terrie Spell - every few weeks since summer. LOVE! She customizes to whatever I need...therapeutic or relaxation or focusing in a specific soreness or some assisted stretching etc. She has so many tools in her toolbox and pulls them out seamlessly. I always leave feeling so much better than when I walked in. And scheduling is easy as I can do it myself on the website. Highly recommend!

My friend and I were looking for cute stores around the area and we came across apothec on yelp The lady was extremely informative with the products they have and was really friendly. She explained throughly about their products and how they make everything in-house. The candles can also be used as hand cream! Interesting, right? She said when you're burning it or when it's not you can either use the warm wax or just take a chunk out for a nice moisturizer Can't wait to go back and try out more of their products. It may seem a little pricy, but they seem to take a lot of time and effort into their products which makes it worth it!

Not the best place for tea, instead try their sister-shop CaryTown Teas. This store is very good for soaps as well as essential oils and other fragrances.

I absolutely love this place. I get their natural honey all the time for my teas. The bug spray actually works great for the summer time and the hand sanitizer I keep with me at all times. I'm just a fan of their natural, non-harming sprays, lotions, and women made honey

I had a 3 rd degree burn on my arm. Used Apothec"s healing balm and it was gone in a week! No scar. This stuff is magic.

Such a cool little place. The two ladies who assisted me while in the store were so warm and friendly. Most of what they carry is made in house which is awesome to see. They carry essential oils, room sprays, and body oils to name a few. The scents are delicious and there is undoubtedly something you'll find you love. They also do massage and facials which I can only imagine would be incredible! Check it out if your in Richmond or close by. You won't be disappointed.
