Applebee's Grill + Bar

Sadly have go give a honest review. Applebee's Houston is awful at all locations. The food is often not fresh. I gave this location a try, it was dead AF, but no wait. I sat at bar. The bar tender is new, a month & 1/2, & she took my order. The drink came out in reasonable time, she wings were good, & did come out ok, & so did my steak meal. The steak was under cooked, cold, & chewy. The potatoes had no flavor, cold, & bland. The broccoli was super soft, soggy, & underwhelming. 🤦🏽‍♀️. They had a special on the steak on Tues for $9.99 & I was charged over $20. It's just the principle. The marg was OK but not impressed. Bring back FROZEN MARGARITAS. It's Texas, It's hot, & 102 degrees that day. 👈🏽. Several guest walked out, I'm not sure why, & many walked in, left, & said they wouldn't come back. Applebee's houston will add things to your tickets, over charge u, play dumb, & not want to correct. At least this location didn't bring my food out witu food & piles of hair all over the food & bottom of plate like the other location. I won't ever return. It's a wrap for Applebee's houston/ Texas. They're all so god awful.

I am so glad I ignored the reviews!!! I had a blast and the food was delicious! My server was a 10 and she was very caring!! She even helped me get a charge on my phone 🫶🫶🫶 I went at 10 pm . Not sure if it makes a difference, but everyone on staff was on point 🤌👌

Don’t really have a complaint on the food, it’s tasted good. But I called to see if they sell the Gallons of Lemonade and they said yes. Got four cups instead…

This was an absolutely wretched experience. We hadn't been to an Applebee's in some time thanks to a poor experience, but we decided to give it a try again. That was a mistake. Firstly though, let me say the hostess was great. Friendly, amenable, and willing to help. Thanks to her, after we had sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to even come take our drink order ( please note it was a slow Wednesday evening ) -she- went back to fetch our waiter. He proceeded to lie and say he had been stuck in the back. The truth was, we had seen him dealing with another table multiple times while we sat there. Now... we were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he hadn't known we were his table, but the blatant lie was bad. After we finally order our drinks and an appetizer (pictured) its another good 10 minutes before someone (who I can only imagine was the manager) brings out our appetizer and asks if we're doing okay. My wife makes it clear that we're not enjoying our visit but just asks if we can have the drinks we ordered. He goes off to the back and after another 5 minutes or so the waiter comes back with the drinks finally and then launches into their charity speech. They were doing something like 'buy a vet a beer'. Normally totally okay with this sort of thing, but maybe not when it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. The whole thing just felt awkward and forced and like he didn't want to be there. He then promptly leaves without taking our meal order. We wait another 10 or so and then decide its time to go. When he finally arrived, not to ask us what we wanted to eat, but to see if my kiddo wanted another shirly temple, we asked for the check, paid, and left. He got a tip, but not anything like we normally tip. Other notes: The Food. We never tried anything but the appetizer and while it was warm, it was not good. Not sure if thats normal for that dish, but my kid who loves spinach dip wouldn't touch it after the first bite. The Manager. I might be wrong and maybe he was a different waiter who was helping out and never seen again, but I doubt it. But of that was the manager... he knew we were unhappy with the service and clearly could not find a care in his body to care about our experience. Even when we were obviously upset and leaving early, there was zero effort on either of their parts to try and salvage any sort of customer experience. If not for our hostess, it would have been easily the worst dining experience I have had in over 15 years. 0/10, won't be going to Applebee's again.

Enjoyed our meal but no luck beer on tap just certain bottles which was a bit disappointing. Also when we asked for the bill the girl brought it over and stood their waiting for us to pay. Just stood right over us...very strange and poor way to treat customers. Anyway food was good apart from the weird ending to our visit.

Quinn, Phil, and Chris are absolutely my favorite people!! Make sure you ask for them cuz they'll make sure that you're takin care of and that you're good to go! Amazing people - built rapport and more!!

I don’t like leaving bad reviews because I know it can damage a company but this location is by far one of the worst. The young man serving my table appeared to make some type of effort for concern but it boiled down to overall crappy service. I ordered cheeseburgers for my kids and salmon for myself after waiting about 30 minutes. Kids food came out about 40 minutes later but mine never came out. Manager compensated our order but my food never came so that was no help. After waiting an additional 47 minutes for my simple meal, seeing 2 more families come and be served, I gave up. By the time I was ready to walk out the 2 tables that had just came we’re already getting drinks and appetizers. It took them almost an hour to let me know they didn’t have the drink I ordered. Overall it was horrible. They blamed it on needing another server but if you already too my order and over an hour had passed with no food then there’s a different problem.

I ordered ribs, fries and coleslaw to go, for my mother. What a disappointment!!! 1/2 order was 4 ribs that were dry- fries looked like they were a day old and COLD and no coleslaw. After the managers lack of personality and concern… I said to cancel this order and requested a refund. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get approval by corporate. He refused to give me anything showing this order was cancelled and had no number for corporate. This place is a joke.

Went there for my birthday Dinner tonight.. had a very good time.. I had the Swiss mushrooms bacon burger.. it was a 10/10 .. our waitress was beyond delightful and very very nice and accommodating.. no complaints here .. definitely will be coming back soon for sure .. and the ambiance was so so pretty and cool .. haven't been to Applebees in a while and this one didn't disappoint

Food was great. Service was not great at all. Our waiter didn't ask what we wanted on our burger. Bought a a dry one. Also she had an attitude after we asked for refills after we talked to the manager. ED the manager on duty seemed more concerned with correcting us on our order placement than correcting the order. He proceeded to call me an ignorant drunk and asked us to leave. Then tried to escort me out the restaurant after I specifically said i did not want him near me.Dude seemed to have an extreme chip on his shoulder. He needs to be fired. To top it off we heard cursing and yelling from the kitchen throughout our meal. One waitress really stood out seemed to really like her job and provide excellent customer service her name was cherry. I work in a service industry so when I spend my money service is number one. We will never return to this location. Update: This location added a tip to my tab without permission. I guess they feel like they deserved a tip for terrible service.

If I could get this restaurant 10 stars, I would first of all the food is OK it's Applebee's after all. You definitely get the bang for your book. However, it's all about the service and the ambience which I would give the award to this young lady named Pourche, which is a great bartender she gives this place 10 stars anywhere she goes she will make it shine. She makes a party she makes you feel good. She's your therapist. She's the best ever if I own the restaurant or I ever went to Business, I'd want her to be my number one partner. This young lady is beautiful and she knows how to make drink and serve you right and she takes care of. She put that S. in service. I hope management sees this. Ten Stars

Horrible service. Very rude staff. Took mom for lunch. No one to wait on you. When he finally showed up, he was very rude. Restaurant had only a couple of people inside. I will never go back to this location again. I only went because I had a gift card. I lost my appetite, due to the employee rudeness.

Worst restaurant ever! Do not come here if you want great food or great customer service. You will get neither! That is why this place is always empty and how they stay open is beyond me. The servers are horrible, the management is horrible and that's the problem. You will sit there waiting for a server for a while and it's a shame that you as the customer has to wave someone down when they keep passing you by knowing you haven't been helped. But do they care? Nope! I've been here twice and never again. It will only piss you off because of how horrible this place is. Do us all a favor and shut down permanently.

We enjoyed lunch here today. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. The restaurant was very clean. I love going in for lunch around opening time because it's always uncrowded. Our lunch came to the table warm and correct , and taste delicious.

Food was cold. Person behind the bar took forever.To give me my food came in at 7:20 left at nine only got two things from the all you can eat the people that came after me left shortly after due to the food taking forever

Worst service tonight ! The lady walked us in was nice and formal. I thought she was a server ( that would have been great ) but she was at bar area, assuming she's a bartender. The lady that was supposed to be the server in our dining area, just stood at the 2 guy-table, assuming her friends of some sort, talked and talked for 15 mins straight. No service was provided, or even a greeting or water the moment we sat down. The talking went for 15 mins , for god sake we even turned our head at her, made eye contacts with the guys at that table. Lots of dirty tables, honestly, need better staff training. Previous experiences with Apple Bee had been great, from service to food. I remembered the service every-time, the black lady served us both times, professional and polite. Probably not coming back due to bad service.

This place is a disaster. Overpriced,took forever to get food. Their prime rib sandwich is no more prime rib than the bottom of my shoe. Just overcooked very thinly sliced i hope it was beef. Took outrageous amount of time to get our meal. Service was no bueno. Waitress was nice but never came by to explain the ridiculous long wait. French onion soup was bland light brown broth with slightly sweet bread and other stuff floating in it, either the cook has no idea what french onion soup is supposed to be like or he maybe had no recipe and was winging it.Never have i seen French onion soup like that before. I hadn't been in this Applebee's in a long time, and will never go back. Don't waste your time in there. Go to Cheddars or Texas Roadhouse or somewhere, they are cheaper and much,much better.

Guys, I'm telling you if you haven't been to Applebees lately you're missing out. Jeannette our server was great. She was so sweet and attentive. We watched her help an elderly woman out to her car. We enjoyed her service and the food so much we have been 3 times this month. The lunch specials and dollar margaritas are amazing.

My husbands wings were cold, and our food was not made how we ordered it. We will not be coming back to this location nor any other applebee's.

This location has the entire team concept down! Someone's taking your order, so one else may walk by and notice your drink is low. They utilizing food runner from the back to ensure that your order was out to you quickly as it was prepared

The worst service. I came in after a long day. Ready to drink and relax. I was ignored by my bartender Porche (blonde). Myself and other guests were annoyed with the service as well. When I was finally acknowledged she still took a while. It's only 5 of us at the bar top. Played on her phone, talked with coworkers and THEN made my drink. It was just a Don Julio on the rocks.... Simple. I'm in the industry as well so I'm ready to tip well. I get if it's a long night. But she didn't even try. Seemed like she didn't even care to serve anyone. Just complained about being annoyed, out loud. I watched people walk out from frustration. This experience was a mess. Just embarrassing.

Stay away from this apples, by far the worst one i've ever been too. staff is horrible, rude, and they act like they are doing you a favor for serving you!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

Pounding rap music, food cold, asked for an appetizer and was going to be brought after the entree. So, I cancelled it. I'm a regular customer and was surprised on how bad the kitchen food was today. Always been my to place to go. Very upset, but didn't seem like they cared!

Clean environment, waitress was nice, the food was really good we got the lime chicken and Alfredo pasta for just $30 they have a special right now. The only downside is the waiting time. We came at 12:00am

There is a reason no one goes to this restaurant. If we hadn't had gift cards we would not have been there either. Maybe 3 tables in the entire restaurant. It was 730. No one even in bar. Our waiter was brand new and clearly not trained. He was very sweet but didn't have a clue about the menu items or how to be a waiter. Food was mediocre. Had to go look for someone to get refills of tea twice. Dirty dishes never removed from table. We went probably a year ago and said we would never be back. Should have stuck with that thought.

Service was horrible ,our waters never brought out and food was never put in by server they forgot about us for 50 mins . Only good thing was the manger took care of our drinks . Wasted so much time here.

i would rate zero if I can worst experience ever me and my husband dine in and we wanted a spinach dip and there was a roach in the spinach dip and this was at the bottom of it so I probably ate more !!!!I am so nauseous to even think about it I feel like going to the hospital as we speak !!! and I have the most sensitive stomach you could ever think I will never look at spinach dip the way I did. and i lovveeeee spinach dip not more thanks to apple bees

Place was dead so I was expecting good service but I was wrong. We were sat down automatically which was nice, server introduced herself and got our drinks and walked away. Couldn't ask for straws bc she just walked away and ended up leaving because after waiting 20 minutes to order our food we realized she wasn't coming back any time soon :)) didn't even get to drink our drinks. DONT waste your time. Basically a retirement home

Food was just ok. Service was just ok do not expect refills on drinks till the end of your meal . The food was wrong when brought out. The waitress never caught it drop off food and Disappeared at end of meal waitress show up with check and ask if everything was ok. Waitress ask if we would like to go drinks said no thank but could you please take off the Mac and cheese that a up sales. Waitress left and went to take of bill took a long time to get the bill correct. The waitress said she had to wait on her manager to correct the bill. Manager never came by table to say sorry or engage conversation about wrong items.

This place use to be so good. It was cool going to a neighborhood spot where over the years I got to know the staff/servers. At my best I'd be in there on average 3 times out of the week. It was never the best at anything but they were very good at the most important things. The people by far being their most redeeming quality. In 2024 this place sucks. My last visit with my fiancé was so bad I almost skipped out on the check because the service was so friggin slow. I practically begged a random server to take my credit card and check me out so we could leave! The food was so disappointing. When we ordered beers it took no less than 10 minutes to come to us. Hell, the first two we ordered I left my booth and picked them up from the counter because they had been sitting there for at least five minutes. I'm not an impatient person but when I see that we are one of five tables being served, that's a problem! I blame our server for that but the strange part was the shift manager. Damn near the whole time we were there she was in the To-Go area blankly staring out of the glass on the door. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Like she was going over all the life choices she's ever made or singing a Disney song in her mind. Like I said earlier, this place has sucked this calendar year with my last visit being my last visit. I was really trying to hang in there with them but enough is enough.

There was this foul restroom odor when we walked in which really through us off but stayed anyway and now regret it. Service was okay but the food was just god awful. If youre used to cooking and eating seasoned food, stay clear if this establishment. I now remember why I dont go there often and will not be stepping another foot in one of these restaurants again. Only good thing they have is their 5$ margaritas..

Ordered food for pickup. It was later at night, so one of the few places still open. I saw bad reviews, but assumed it was complaints about the service which had little relevance to me. I got to the restaurant about 7-10 minutes before the estimated pickup time, and was pleasantly surprised that it was already ready. I had a 2 minute drive back to my hotel, and by the time I got back, all of the food was cold -- not even lukewarm -- indicating the food was not hot when I left the restaurant. No utensils were in the bag. I ordered pretzel sticks (which were soggy) and they failed to include the dipping sauces. I also ordered a cup of tomato bisque -- again cold -- and the cheese (that would ordinarily be sprinkled on top of soup) was far in excess of "a sprinkle" and had instead coagulated into a large clump at the bottom of the container. The croutons (included on the side) were soggy and had no semblance of "crunch". For someone who had been traveling all day and hadn't eaten at all, I was going to be pretty easy to please, but even with my low standards, they still managed to fall below them. Go anywhere else; don't waste your money here.

Terrible. Just terrible. Walked in at 12:15 for lunch. Completely empty restaurant. Asked the hostess to sit at the table by the window. She said "we don't have a server for this area." So she led me 9 steps away to a different table in the dark. I compliantly sit down. Wife arrives 3 minutes after me and we realize the booth has about 8 inches of space on her side. My wife is a drop dead gorgeous slender woman, but even she couldn't fit in there. Hostess is no where to be found so we move the 9 steps to the table by the window. That got her attention! She was there lickety split to tell us we couldn't sit there. To which I said "I'll find another table......at a different restaurant." This is why this place is empty. I give it six months before HQ finally shuts it down. I guess I will just have to relive my high school memories of fun trips to Applebees with friends in my mind....

DELIVERY PERSONNEL!!! The employees at this Applebee's always do an amazing job for me. All you delivery drivers need to remember that they have online orders, call in orders and all the other orders they have to deal with. Be patient.

Waited for over 40 minutes just to get a drink order in that was never delivered... I decided to leave so I did not raise a big fuss and get arrested like Johnny Lawrence. hash brown poor service

Yes! I totally recommend this Restaurant. Today was our first time at this location and our server, Courtney was amazing. I was so surprised because she looks so young but she made us feel so welcome since the moment she walked to our table. She does have very good manners towards her customers. A quiet spirit but with a smile on her face in all times. She was very attentive with us, quick, and with a very good disposition to serve. Like very professional. I was very impressed on how a young lady knew how to behave and work with clients keep her sweet and quiet spirit. She must have a very good example at her house with her parents. Oh, and I have to mention dinner was delicious, hot, and fresh right on with the our young server!! - Claribel

There was hardly any customers in the restaurant and we still had to wait to be seated. We were seated next to a dirty table. We were there for about 10 to 15 minutes and no one came to take our drink order. There was no music playing out in the lobby/dinning area. You could hear everyone's conversations. While waiting, one of the workers walked out. The host cleaned a table, not the one we were sat next to, all the whole the kitchen staff had their music blasting and the servers were with them. After over 15 minutes, we just left. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Don't waste your time here. There was like 3 other tables being occupied in the entire restaurant and we still did t get attended.

First time coming here. Service was quick and friendly. Tried the bacon cheeseburger and was delicious. Everything was hot and served quickly. I will come here again. Very reasonable prices Oka..

we waited 20 minutes just to be seen by a host and people before us waited longer, then when we finally get a table our menus were sticky and wet and we weren't greeted for another like 15 minutes, and when we did order, we waited for our drinks for 40 mins and they came after we finished our meal and decided to cancel them. Service and cleanliness was overrall horrible.

Okay I see why they only what two stars. Because this is the EXACT reason I don't deal with these type of chain restaurants. Here we go...we enter this location and was barely greeted. Then, we were seated the waitress was taking a table of four and they were basically chatting it up (over the menu) she then left...we waited and waited still not greeted!! And WE WAITED. We then asked to be moved to a booth near the bar. The bartender did not greet us nor was she seeing customers. The table we were sat at was nasty no one came to clean it. And guess what the manager was at the bar and when we calmly complained about the lack of service they just looked at us like we were telling them dumbfounded the manager gave a blank apology. And our first waiter said "oh I didn't see y'all I was taking care of a table" yeah but the host when to tell you you had a table....and we still waited forever. IF you're going to act this way towards people, just get another job one that you'll enjoy and actually treat people with kindness and great service. UNACCEPTABLE!

Is no stars possible? Sat at the bar for 30 minutes before leaving. The person that was on shift left to checkout and no one came back. I don't even think it's legal to leave the bar unattended. Terrible place.

Came here today with my family after church, we arrived at 12:30 or so, we came in and got seated immediately there wasn't that much people in the restaurant. we got seated and a server came and asked for our drinks and then a new server came and served us from then, took about 35 minutes to order and for the food to arrive. i got the all you can eat buffalo boneless wings, my mom also got those, and my dad got the bourbon burger and my sister chicken tenders. food was hot and pretty solid, although they are understaffed so it's understandable that it takes a while for the food to come, Solid food no errors or misplaced orders, might come here again next sunday! although i would recommend that they change the inside of the restaurant, it looks pretty depressing, there's not enough natural light and the walls are different colors and it looks old. all in all, if you can wait a little and want some solid food come on here to this applebee's.

PLEASE READ and BEWARE THEIFS!!! This location 19625 Restaurant Row Houston, TX 77084 claimed to be under staffed the day I visited. So I gave them a pass with the service being POOR !. But I completely take that back after me and my guest were charged multiple times for our order! . Called to see what the issue was and was told they were having a system problem and would be reversing the charges ! However this NEVER happened! They are unprofessional , liars, and cannot be trusted ! I will never step foot back in this location or any Applebee's for that matter if they are allowing this location to do this to people . ! I hope someone is held accountable for this !

Service was BOMB!! And the drinks were even better if that's possible! Kendron was pourin right and the tunes were bumpin the whole time! Will definitely be returning!

What a disappointment. I was enticed in by their massive email marketing for their new holiday cocktails. $5! Sleigh cocktails! One featuring The Rock's tequila.The sleigh cocktails were even posted on their front door. What better day to go then Thanksgiving. Well...I was informed they didn't have one of the two I wanted, which was a rita strawberry swirl; no margarita mix. Wth! That's the only reason I picked Applebee's for our meal. The actual meal was okay; nothing special. But I would have prefered dining at a place that also had the advertised cocktails. I ended up with a mango margarita for 8.99 (btw server told me it was 7.99) Talk about bait and switch. Never again Applebee's.

I've tried visiting this Applebee's twice and both times the air conditioning was broken in 90 degree weather.

Honestly, anytime you eat at a nationwide chain restaurant, you are not looking for flavor or high levels of taste in their everyday menu items. On occasion, when a special, short time dish is offered, the people in the kitchen will awaken from their culinary coma and actual place more than a dash of spices on the dish. Well, this place does a couple of things right. I like the discounted rate given to military personnel on Mondays. I also like that after 10pm, appetizers goes to half price. They are open until 2am everyday, so if you just wish to dip off, late night, to a place where you will get the same old, same old taste from your dishes, then you do well going here. This particular location does have good service, free wifi and normally is really clean...even the restrooms.
