The 35 Best Restaurants in Florence, Italy | Eater
"Savvy Sicilian chef Carmelo Pannocchietti is a fixture in Florence. His Sicilian street food outposts can satisfy a cannoli craving, but Arà also makes notably generous ragu-filled arancini, slabs of Sicilian pizza, granitas, and arguably the best Bronte pistachio gelato in town. Pannocchietti has expanded his venture into a bit of an empire, with pop-up stands along the river in the summer, an outpost on the top floor of the Mercato Centrale food hall, and a sit-down fast-casual deli (similar to a tavola calda). Know before you go: Don’t sleep on the natural wine list, which has some mind-boggling options sourced from the restaurant’s eponymous island." - Coral Sisk
"Ara’ e’ Sicilia is a fast-casual Sicilian place in Sant’Ambrogio with a small patio on the street that’s good for lunch. You’re coming specifically for the plump arancini stuffed with meaty ragu and melted cheese, plus a cannoli or an icy lemon granita to top things off. You can use it as a spot to refuel after a tour of Florence’s Synagogue or the Santa Croce cathedral since it’s near both, but we like it best to grab some snacks for a picnic at the park just down the street or along the Arno. One of the best Arancini I had in my life till now. The young lady behind the counter was so nice and kind. My only regret was not trying their cannoli. If you are going to see the David, make a stop here and trust me you will thank me.

We never came to the physical store but we had the Ara e Sicilia products when we were at the Il Mercato Centrale Firenze.
I ended up ordering a Cannoli and we shared some arancini which were both fantastic.
The young lady working there was so nice as well.
Highly recommend, especially the arancini!

Best cannoli I have ever tried anywhere! The filling was amazing and we had to go back another day just to eat one more.
The arancini is also one of the best I have ever eaten. We tried the ham and the eggplant one, and as a vegetarian who does not like eggplant, mine was so so good!! I have already recommended this place to so many friends
The only down side is that it is a small place, so arrive early if you want a table or you can order to go like many Italians do

We came for the cannoli, and the cannoli didn’t disappoint! It is filled fresh so the shell remains crunchy. It was a good, quick snack.
The shop looked like they had some other yummy dishes as well. Very cute ambiance.

Amazing place, really close to the Galleria Dell’Academia. They have granita with real gelato (at least the strawberry one was), arancino, pasta to go, straccia, some diferent local sodas, pizza, gelato, etc. And the price is very good! What a pleasant surprise!

It’s a must try place in Florence. The Arancini here is the best . The hostess is really friendly and makes everyone feel home. We met any other Italian people at the cafe and we had amazing conversation. So if you want good food and good conversation this is the place.

The squid ink arancino was beautifully flavoured if somewhat high on salt. The cake too was delicious but a bit high on sugar.
The pistachio and ricotta ice cream was simply excellent.

Amazing granita! So good, I can order another 20 cups! Freshly filled cannoli, tasty coffee, and perfectly chilled prosecco. Yes, it was our breakfast, go judge someone else, please!
