I just wanted to say that the food was absolutely delicious, and our server was fantastic and really made us feel welcome. This was my first time dining here. However, the experience started off on a bad note due to the attitude of the host. As the first point of contact, the host sets the tone for the entire visit, and unfortunately, it left me with a poor first impression.
I had parked at the Bank of Hawaii structure nearby and noticed another lot behind the restaurant. Since the sign said parking was for the for the Outrigger, I asked the host if it was also available for Arancino guests. Her response was rude "Well, there's more than one Outrigger, I don't which one your staying at" It felt unnecessary, I was just curious about the parking situation.
When I tried to provide my name and reservation time, she cut me off mid-sentence and asked, "What's your last name?" After I told her, she replied, "Oh okay, yeah I don't know how to say that," with a scoff. That kind of remark felt unprofessional.
To top it off, right before we were seated, she pulled a vape from her waistband and took a drag. As we walked toward the entrance, we passed by her while she was waving away her clouds. That set the tone of the interaction before we even sat down.
Other than that, our server helped turn things around, and the meal itself was excellent. First impressions matter.
