"With two locations in Seattle (the other is in the U District) and one in Bellevue, Araya’s Place serves vegan Thai food that satisfies. Recommended dishes include “Drunken Mushroom” — wide rice noodles with portobello, shiitake, and white mushrooms (with mushroom sauce standing in for fish sauce) — and avocado curry." - Eater Staff

Vegan food can often be so flavorless and oddly textured but this place was great. I really enjoyed the tofu app and peanut sauce. I'm celiac and they have a lot of gluten free options. Communicating the allergy was a bit tough but it ended up alright. I really enjoyed the black rice pudding! I want to come back for just for that and tofu.

I'm very much not a vegan, but am pleasantly surprised when I find a location that can provide a nutritous and filling meal in a vegan style. This is one of the best Thai spots I've had in Seattle. Their coconut milk thai tea is out of this world. If you arrive, i recommend you order the stir fry with noodles and brown rice lunch combo. It was so much food, I had to finish it later that evening. Thank you for this pleasant surprise and I wish the location all the best.

Beautiful place with nice outdoor seating. The menu has plenty to offer and everything tasted great. I thought the 3 star wouldn't be spicy but it was perfect Thai spicy. Very few places that can deliver flavorful dishes like this one. One of my favorites when I visit here.

We came in as a big party for dinner. Kids n all. They were very patient and efficient. So great place for families. Food-wise I tried about 8 dishes or something and they all were bangers. They ask if you want spice level 1-5. You basically can do no wrong ordering from the menu. I think they were out for the vegan chicken, which was super disappointing but OK.

We came in on a weekday for early dinner with a reservation but I don't think we would have needed it. The restaurant is located in what looks like a residential area and the it looks like a house itself. They have plenty of seating indoors. The food here is quite nice too. I definitely have had better (only at one place in SoCal) but I would recommend it (and would come here again myself). The crispy spring rolls are my favorite! The service here is also attentive and helpful!

What I ordered, I wouldn't recommend but there curries were amazingggg!!! I ordered the tom yum soup noodles - spice level 4 - wasn't spicy say all and the noodles lacked flavor - I did regret not getting the curry that my company did. Would 100% recommend them. I also really liked their chai tea - it wasn't excessively sweet.

Really good Thai food. Entire menu is vegan. Veggies well prepared, and so many GF options. Would like curry dishes to have more veggies, but you can pay for extra. They charge for rice, but it's worth it if you opt for brown (really good). Service is friendly and they want you to enjoy the experience. Its quaint and clean with flavorful food.

It's a vegan place with lots of options to try. I got their daily lunch menu which is their replacement for pre-covid buffet It comes with 2 spring rolls, side salad, green curry, rice, pad thai and a sweet dish. All this for 15$ and everything is extremely tasty. The place itself is very nice and cozy as it's someone's house transformed into a restaurant. Our server was a bit rude but apart from that loved the whole experience and I'll definitely visit this place again to try avocado curry and tea.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place after seeing that it had just opened a location in Capitol Hill, and was already established in another spot. The location itself is quite cute and cozy, and we came by on a Sunday night for dinner. There were only a couple of other tables inside, and we sat down in the back area with one other couple. Inside the restaurant almost feels like a museum or home, with the low ceilings, close by tables, and really quite ambiance - it almost felt weird to talk too loudly. While I would give the food itself probably 3.5 stars, there were a few things that made me dock off more. The waitress and one of the chef(s)? seemed to be frantically running around and messing up things a lot, which didn't instill a lot of confidence in us from the start. We ordered the fish in panang curry sauce and bbq beef to start off, and specified no nuts since I'm allergic to them. While they did keep the peanuts off the fish dish, they forgot to take them out of the papaya salad that came with the beef. As soon as I took a bite I could tell there were peanuts and thankfully immediately spit it out - if I had more severe allergies, that could have ended up extremely poorly. From then on I didn't have much more trust in the food, and even overheard another customer asking the chef/waitress what they were served was to which she responded with "I don't know." They did make me a new papaya salad, but I was still overly cautious after that moment. We also ordered a pad kee mao at the end which was fine, but they forgot to add it to the bill and then came back asking us to pay again which was another oversight. I think there's quite a bit of work that can be done to improve this place, but not all hope is lost. Objectively the food wasn't bad, but I think there needs to be some enhancements in service, ambiance, and presentation.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place as I frequented Arayas before Hanuman took over their spot. As someone who eats meat, I actually still loved Arayas but when I heard a Thai spot that served meat was coming through the neighborhood I got extra excited. However, Hanuman let me down. While the take out service was quick and friendly, that's all this place has going for them. The dishes I had were some of the worst thai I've had in Seattle. The pad Thai was too sweet and lacking substance (few chicken pieces, barely any veggies), the mixed appetizers were lackluster with the spring rolls only being stuffed with cabbage & the crab wonton being too cream cheese forward while 1 of the pieces came overcooked & the fried tofu felt like it was fried long ago from the taste (or bad oil). The pad see ew was the best of the bunch and yet still left to be desired. Long story short, I'd rather trek the hill and go to Kindee than come back to Hanuman despite it being a 2 min walk away. Maybe it was an off night, but first impressions are important, and they really missed the mark here unfortunately.

Yelp
An excellent Thai food option with a good range of vegetarian and vegan choices. I liked that the food was a bit less salty and sweet than in some other Thai restaurants, which allowed the flavors of the ingredients to shine through more. And it's healthier too! I had green curry, som tum, chicken satay, and mango sticky rice. It was all tasty and fresh. The outdoor seating is wonderful. It overlooks a small quiet plaza, with dappled light through the trees. Service was friendly. It was clear the place is new and still figuring things out a bit but nothing major. It was a very pleasant dining experience. I hope there can be some more non-caffeinated herbal teas added to the selection. Lemongrass tea would be in theme!

Yelp
I came here on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet. It is a bit tricky to find so I added a video on how to get there. In the video, it's from the E Madison entrance where they added the sign but there is also an access from 28 Ave E. The place is lovely and feels like a home but the food was not among the best Thai food I've ever tried. Although I know that Thai food is not consistent across US. I ordered Tom Kha Soup chicken and my partner ordered Mama Pad Noodle with pork. Both dish we ordered were meh. Tom Kha Soup with chicken was more watery, it feels like the coconut milk was watered down too much then they just throw in the veggies. The chicken was over cooked: rubbery and dry. Mama Pad Noodle with pork was ok. The minute it arrived I was wondering if it was instant noodle. Then after my partner ate, he told me that it tasted like packet noodle. Update: Thank you John for clarifying. I think we misunderstood the "egg noodle" on the description on menu when we ordered Mama Pad.

Yelp
Really delicious food in a lovely atmosphere! The staff are all friendly and helpful too. So far I've tried the salmon curry, the fresh rolls, and papaya salad over the past few weeks. All were excellent and tasted fresh and high quality. The menu is extensive and there are lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. Really happy to have this place in my neighborhood!

Yelp
Excellent food, quality ingredients, nice staff. This is a new spot in my neighborhood, and I've been several times already. From some of the other reviews, it seems like there may be a few wrinkles to iron out, but I've not experienced them. I eat out frequently and this place is clearly better than the Araya's that was here before it, and generally better than the other Thai places in the area. There's a lot more I need to try but everything I've had has been good to great.
