Frenchette Is Opening A Bakery Inside Arcade’s Old Tribeca Space | Eater NY

"I recall Arcade, the iconic neighborhood bakery that opened in 2014 at 220 Church Street, between Thomas and Worth Streets; it quickly established itself as one of the best bakeries in the city with high-quality baguettes and pastries, drawing massive lines before owner and chef Roger Gural closed it in August last year citing poor health. Gural brought experience from top bakeries including Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery in Napa and David Bouley’s NYC bakery." - Tanay Warerkar

Google
Awesome place. Great machine selection and a machines are in great repair. Excellent pinball with almost all machines Internet connected. Best part os that they have a great beer selection and a full bar along with food too.

Google
Very chill place to go have fun with friends and play some old school games. From centipede to Sonic to some more modern plays, it provided a lot of fun for a decent unlimited price. Had a couple drinks, but didn't eat the food because we happened to show up during Octoberfest! Which was awesome also. But the food I did see looked delicious! Will have to try it next time!

Google
ARCADE 92 is a super fun place to play all generations of video games... GOOD: •From pinball to arcade games to large HD flat screens and reclining leather gaming chairs.... They have Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, and PC's too! •This is REALLY cool for kids AND adults of all ages. •There are some tables & a small bar with really good custom drink selections. •You can order snacks, sandwiches, salad, & pizza. BAD: •they are often out of one or some of the ingredients needed for their specialty drinks. •there were several games out of order the last time we went.

Google
had an amazing birthday here, everyone was very sweet and accommodating, and overall very friendly. one of the bartenders in a beetlejuice shirt was kind enough to light my candles for me when i forgot a lighter! overall, i had an amazing time, and will not hesitate to come back :)

Google
A great little date night for hubby and I! We had so much fun playing Pac-Man, Star Wars and the pinball machines. So much nostalgia for these games, place is so nice and sprawling. We had a great time!!! Also try Mario chocolates they are amazing!

Google

Google
Such a fun place with friendly workers. They have new and old games. Brings back my nostalgia. Definitely coming back again. Food was great as well. I recommend this place to all of my friends.

Yelp
Arcade 92 is a lot of fun! There is so many games you can play!! There food is really good too. Plus the drinks are really really good! There is a variety of old games like pac man a bunch of old retro games and all of that fun stuff! The only thing that is kind of ok is it get's pretty loud in there sometimes but not super loud. Thanks to the service for being so nice and kind.
google avatar

Azsure D.

Yelp
So much fun! Most of the games were working. They have a nice selection of beer and cocktails in house. And they have a small food menu (of not amazing food). The games are well laid out on the floor and there is good variety. Staff is kind. Plenty of parking in the garage right by the building.

Yelp
So fun, definitely brought back childhood memories if you're from the 80-90s. My family loved it and we're glad they are here in McKinney. They have everything from pinball machines to Xbox one to guitar hero and old arcade games. Staff are great too! And it's all day!
google avatar

Allyn D.

Yelp
The staff are very friendly, it's sort when you take the kids there and they can play all day if they want to, especially during this summer season. Games are kind average from what the kids were telling me ( I don't play so I don't know those games). Food was about Average and the soda could use a little bit more of syrup as it tasted a bit bland, they gave me another drink but it's kinda same. Place is of average noise like what you expect in an arcade place . The only thing I Didn't like is I have to pay for myself as well even if I don't play and even if I order food I still have to pay the entrance fee.
google avatar

Amiee B.

Yelp
Fun / exciting / pizza / beer / games This is a childhood dream come true. Games that you can remember and enjoy the experience with friends and family.

Yelp
Great place for kids and adults!! $12 all day play! Yummy bar food and drinks! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Cody and Zee were amazing and a vibe, had a great time. Super nostalgic. Will be back!!!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun date night or family night out, this is the place! They have games for everyone and decently priced for all you can play. While we did not have any food, the drinks were great and the bartenders were all so nice and welcoming! We will be coming back soon!!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
My sister and I came here and enjoyed ourselves with the classic video games. It was a fun, engaging atmosphere. I would give 5 stars but the bartender was rude towards me. She asked how it was going, and I said good. She asked why then we hadn't tipped her and the bartender. This was very off putting for myself. Especially since we bussed our own table and brought all our empty drinks back to the bar. I have never been talked to in such a way and I would not talk that way to my customers as I have worked in customer service before. We did leave her and the other bartender a tip; a tip that was over 20%. Hopefully, she can learn how to talk to customers in a more respectful way.

Yelp
Damn. This place is awesome. After parking to go to Foxii's restaurant right next door, we saw that this arcade was here. Didn't realize it as I hadn't been looking for one. After we ate, we went over to it and saw that you can play as long as you want, all day long, for $12. It was closer to 8pm or 9pm when we went over. Originally, my wife wasn't going to play and was just going to watch. Unfortunately, as you don't use tokens or coins, there can't be bystanders. So we paid $24 and we both got to play. The selection is pretty darn good. Front and center was Tron, which is one of my favorite arcade games. They had some old school cabinets, like Popeye and Road Runner (I haven't seen a Road Runner machine in 30 years). They had Moon Patrol, Dr. Mario, Galaga, Gauntlet, Simpson, TMNT, and so much more -- and that was just on the first floor. Down a couple steps had even more games. Star Wars Trilogy, T2, other shooter type of games, as well as several stations with small TVs for old school systems, like Nintendos and Super Nintendos. My wife played Zelda 2 for a bit on one of them. Down the ramp was even more titles. Dance Dance Revolution, several pinball machines, 4-player Pac-Man, and a bunch of larger TVs with comfy seats with Switch machines hooked up. The machines were set to play a handful of games, such as Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Gang Beasts, and a few more. My wife played a little Super Smash and some Mario Kart on these. My wife got a drink and I forget what it was, but it actually tasted pretty good (I don't like alcohol). They did a good job on it. Overall, this place is fantastic. There are lots of options for games to play. Since there aren't coins or tokens, you can finally beat some of the titles you never could when you were younger, like Gauntlet or some of the rail shooters that eat up quarters. Prices are reasonable and we could have stayed for a lot longer, but after 2-1/2 hours, we had had our fill (technically, I could have kept playing, but that's because there were a lot more games to beat that I didn't even get a chance to get to). My wife, whom doesn't play many video games, had a great time beating some of the shooters and playing old school stuff. If you are into arcades, this is a great place to go and the selection and options are hard to beat.

Yelp
Great fun! The front of the arcade showcases pure '80s nostalgia. Donkey Kong, Burgertime, Crystal Castles, vs. Super Mario Bros., Tron, Paperboy, Joust... they're all here in great working order and all on freeplay. The back area is more modern games and also includes console gaming with comfortable chairs and large TVs. Great selection of pinball too! Reasonable costs all around. Food was good overall... we ordered the honey pepperoni pizza and the buffalo wings. Both hit the spot. Nice beverage menu as well. I was pleased to see how many families were there, sharing these fun classics with the next generation. After 9 I believe, it's adults only. One of my kiddos got in trouble for turning one of the consoles off. Would recommend plastic lockable shells if that is a recurring issue. Other than that, we had an amazing time and plan to return!

Yelp
Fun retro arcade in downtown McKinney. An old school gamers delight. They have a lot of machines with a game for everyone. The vibe is retro, so go with an open mind. They have a variety of beer on tap. They also serve some delicious lemon pepper wings on the menu. Go with the kids they will love it. Or go with your person for a retro date night type of feel.

Sabrina K.

Yelp
Cody was an absolute delight and so knowledgeable about his mixology knowledge! The place is a lot of fun! Highly recommend (:

Yelp
My 2nd visit, and not as crowded as 1st time, perfect! Actually, on a Sunday, I arrived later, with 3 hours remaining. Plenty of open games, plenty of open seating. I battled the Stranger Things pinball game for a while, then I got my shots down to place 1st, top score, and enter my gamer initials for the display board. This Stern pinball machine can register players to this machine and others with same feature, so you can compete nationally with other Pinball Wizards! Asteroids game, hehe, needs a tune-up! The playing field is15% blank on the left side from top to bottom. The asteroids & space ships are very tiny. There are 4 Asteroid games, 1979 version, that I have found in some DFW arcades, only 1 is functioning in 100% true original settings. Well, I looked at all the console games, majority were open, available for play this night. I would need assistance with set-up, etc, time to treat some buddies to get them up here. Today I learned that there is another Arcade92 located over in Flower Mound, TX, southwest from McKinney. Put that on my planner for a future visit! Support the retro game arcades!

Yelp
Omg what a flash back to the good days! Only $25 for both of us to play all day! From pac man, to frogger, galaga & pinball machines! This was such a cool experience and they even have drinks and food you can buy!
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Really fun, especially for the price. We went for a date on a Thursday and there were a few people inside but we were able to play all the games we wanted to except Guitar Hero, which was busy the whole time, and DDR Max, which appeared to be out of order. They even had a wall of tvs for Switch games and the like which I hadn't expected. I loved the selection of pinball games, and it was fun to try some arcade games we'd never seen before. If you come for a date, I would recommend being with someone of a similar skill level. If you're both great at games or both awful at games (like we were), it makes for a very fun night in walking distance of some great food and desserts.
google avatar

Jared D.

Yelp
This place was awesome, would highly recommend. They have an amazing selection of old school arcade games, and some new games for the younger kids. As a child of the 80s, being able to free play TMNT and The Simpsons to try and finally beat them was priceless. Nostalgia at its finest. I didn't try any of the food or drinks, but from what I could tell they looked great. Planning to return frequently with my children.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Horribly slow service, incomplete food and drink orders and way overpriced for both games and food. Do not go here the servers make excuses and then go play the arcade games instead of giving you your order.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Great place, fun! Birthday party was a hit.. pizza was good! Would book again.....,,, Cx.

Yelp
Cody and Zee always make us feel at home. We love this bar. Great beers and great times!

Yelp
Hello!! The 80's called and said they want their arcade back!! I walked in this place and knew it was gong to be a blast, they have every game I've ever played when I was kid. I mean they had Track and Field, Sinistar, Tron, Mortal Kombat... and the list goes on. I was here for around two hours and never stopped enjoying myself. I went with my son, and he got a kick out of my love for some of these old games. It also gave him an idea of how different it is to play Pole Position compared to today's games like Forza Horizon (which they also had). We even sat down and played Fortnite together with the consoles in the back of the room. This place has a bar, great bar food and a fun crowd where you can really reel in that nostalgia. I can't wait to go back and try it again.
google avatar

Joy D.

Yelp
We went to this adult arcade with my daughter and son in law, we had a fairly long wait to pay and get our wristbands. Another long wait to get our drinks. There were quite a few people there so maybe it's not always like that, once we had drinks and wristbands it was awesome!! There was a wait for the pinball machines and a couple were broken. They had a guy working on them so that was good. Other than that we were pretty much able to play whatever we wanted. It was really fun. They had a long if different games to choose from. We had a great time.
google avatar

Jaci G.

Yelp
Love this place. Great atmosphere, great selection of games, clean bathrooms, and good food.
google avatar

Marlon M.

Yelp
Great mix of old school games to current games. Decent amount of brews on tap. Food is mid at best. Bathrooms could be cleaner. I had to tell an employee 2x that it was empty. I left right after and it was very busy. All those dirty kid hands on a Saturday.

Linda H.

Yelp
This Arcade is nice, but they should consider not charging adults that are only there to accompany children. Maybe issue wrist bands to control this. I for sure will not be taking my grandson if I have to pay just to get in.
google avatar

Kyerra B.

Yelp
My partner & I are giving the "ABC date trend" a go so he chose this arcade to start it off! We went around 8 pm on a Saturday and didn't have to wait too long to receive our wristbands and then the fun began! It was so nostalgic playing pinball, Sonic on sega Dreamcast, Tetris & more! We didn't order drinks but the bar was legit! For $12 a wristband it's definitely worth it and it's something different instead of the traditional dinner & a movie!

Yelp
When I first saw this place, I was with my Boyfriend checking out downtown McKinney with him. He lives right n McKinney and wanted to show me around. I then came back with one of my dear friends and we had a blast. Every kind of retro game you can think of, pinball, and modern games. Such a great place! The second trip was with my boyfriend and his daughter. We stayed forever it feels like. The food was good, the atomosphere was great, and they have a fun adult drink menu but also unlimited refills on fountain drinks. Highly recommend this place. 12 dollars gets you unlimited play time! Go check it out yall! You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Diana M.

Yelp
Last week family was in town and we came to check this place out and we all had a blast. Love playing the old games. Nothing like the past games. I also like that they have some other games that young generations can also enjoy. They have a bar and you can also order food. I also like that after 9pm. It's 18 and over.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
I was in Allen TX for work looking for dinner, drink and something fun to do. Well I found something fun to do and a good drink. These guys have a pretty decent barcade with a bunch of retro games, pinball and a large selection of consoles. Everything I tried worked and freeplay was nice after the cover charge. I do have two dings against the place. First, if you noticed I didn't mention I found dinner. They couldn't cook a personal pizzas without burning the crust. (Probably frozen) Second issue the Stern pinball machines are nice and all but they all kind of play the same. Also, music based pinballs had volume too low. I'd encourage either getting some older retro pins or at least a couple of other brands. Overall it was good fun, so I'll give them a pass and ding them only one instead of two. Eat beforehand. (Edit: After reading others reviews I don't understand how they can't get a frozen pizza right. It seams it wasn't an isolated incident. )

Yelp
We have been to arcade 92 many times since we've moved to this area. It's a perfect place for some family fun at an affordable price. The staff is always very helpful and the games are in great condition. I honestly couldn't think of a single area they need to improve at this time. Please keep up the great work!
google avatar

Mitchel R.

Yelp
Great space, ample parking, solid drink selections, good selection of classic and modern games, lots of console games, and about 10 pinball machines (mostly working perfectly). Restroom is clean. Young lady at the bar was not super friendly, but was efficient. Nothing to be concerned with. I'll likely be back!
google avatar

A C.

Yelp
We love it here! My kids love their pizza, and the games. Great mix of old school arcade and new games on flat screens. The place is very accessible for my 11 year old who uses a wheelchair.

Cherokee S.

Yelp
Such a fun place to go!!! Drinks are affordable, all the games work, there's so many to choose from! My favorite was definitely Smash TV which brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. other Barcades should take note because Arcade 92 is how you should do it! the Bar manager was super sweet!! (I forgot her name ):)
google avatar

Hailey T.

Yelp
I remember in 2020 when the atmosphere was so happy and amazing, but now it's just nostalgic and sad. The food is overpriced and just okay. The staff are dry. But if you don't have a console at home, I definitely suggest spending a day here. The admission is a good price.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a free play regular and let me start off by saying this is not free play. Let me start off what they did wrong , from a free play person really only two things ... 1)they advertised a mario kart tournament and I was the only person who showed for it ( I get it weird pandemic times) , #2 why it is not free play , no candy cabs or vs city, the street fighter scene is too big to not have at least an Astro city( vs city preferred) , but why 5 stars ...they have top notch pinball line up to me( maybe not fully updated ) ... stranger things , best pinball in past two year IMO. JPark, one of my faves and new one too me "the mandalorian "... For what they are trying to do. They superior to the barcades or kung fu s in dallas. Cleaner , better food , better staff. Not to be shallow , but the bartenders were pretty and had a good attitude . I even asked why the 92 in arcade 92, she looked too young to been born in 92 , but yeah she said golden age of arcade , 92, I'm a street fighter child, but plenty of og's will reference the 80s as Golden;) In short, I had a great time. They have a perfect location and shiner on tap. I'm chris to See how they do with the the console setup on the wall. Could have been an epic mario kart tourney . Picture of me putting up #1 on stranger things.

Vince J.

Yelp
My time spent here was interesting, between the selection of games being available along with drinks. I found myself here for hours, with the help of Mr Morrow as he referred to himself. I had no issues figuring out the games mechanics or better yet the good games versus the bad. I did notice the ambiance was elegant & the space was extremely clean. I do appreciate Morrow for wiping down every game before & after I used it as well. Good guy overall, wish I had more time to know him, since I was visiting with my family of 7 & we only had so much time due to a funeral we had to be at.
google avatar

Davud C.

Yelp
Way too over priced. And get this, they don't offer a discount for kids but also don't allow kids under 15 to play pinball, claiming kids hit the buttons wrong. Several machines weren't working when I went and most of them are in poor condition, with scratched or old screen coverings that make it hard to see the game. The entire place both inside and out is dingy and dirty. Cigarette butts everywhere on the ground outside. The staff wasn't friendly either -- at every interaction they appeared bored or annoyed. Also, don't use the elevator in the parking garage -- it lurched violently down at one point around the 3rd floor and I was worried for my safety. Do yourself a favor and go to Free Play in Richardson instead. Bigger, cleaner, & a far better value.

Yelp
Came here for a quarantine birthday outing and it was a great surprise. It's located in quaint downtown McKinney which is cute! So you enter and instantly feel overcome with nostalgia. All the games of childhood are here like galaga, Pac-Man, old school Nintendo, pinball machines and even current favorites like Nintendo switch. For $12 you can play all day and even leave and return. They also serve food and have a full bar. The food is typical bar food like burgers and fries but we didn't eat here. The food we saw looked good though. You can also have birthday parties here. If the Rona is still here for my birthday I'll definitely have my party here

Danielle C.

Yelp
This place was an EXCELLENT value for all of the great games that they have! It is a straight price for entry and you can play all day! All the games were in working order!!! Only odd thing was one "gamer" using a PS4 to watch YouTube videos. The whole eating situation is not your typical eatery, the tables are between the games so more so act as a touch down point for people while they are playing games. The food was standard bar fare, nothing outstanding but not horrible. Recommend stick to beer or canned adult beverages. Overall - 5 stars for video game play 3 for food/drinks.
google avatar

Belinda C.

Yelp
Only came here for my kiddo. It's all about the games. Mostly retro. There are some Nintendo games set up in back with game chairs. My advise: Don't eat the food. It's sub par at best. Ordered cheese sticks which were grainy and not at all tasty. And pretzel bites. Very salty. I was also disappointed in the beer selection since that was all I was here for. Oh well at least my kid had fun.

Erin S.

Yelp
It is SO LOUD at this arcade. All 200 games were turned up on the highest volume. The overhead music was loud as well. My ears hurt like I had been at a rock concert. Additionally you can't talk with friends. My husband wants to have his team building party of 60 people here but I told him it's too loud for people to talk over. There was a couple on a date and I could see that the girl kept pointing to her ear saying "I can't hear you". The food here is really good. The pizza crust was a bit burnt but the flavors were nice. Lots of variety of games. Old school and new games. Just make sure to bring ear plugs.

Yelp
Visited this place yesterday and I have to say it was amazing. You pay a flat fee then enjoy freeplay on every arcade machine in the place, and there are lots. I went straight to the KI2 machine and got obliterated (just like old times) while the wife found a station setup to play Super Mario World. I really miss the arcade scene and I'm glad to see it recreated and improved upon here.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I went to cidercade in Dallas with my youngest boy and was looking for something similar near home. This place didn't disappoint. It was easy to find. Near many eateries. Parking was a breeze with the free garage steps away. The price to enter and have unlimited play was $12 a head. There pinball games, consoles old and new, and some classic arcade games. They had a good selection alcohol that I didn't try this time. The family loved the time here. The funnest family games were the bee game, the Pac-Man game, and the dance. My wife loved Galaga. I love the pinball games. My daughter loved guitar hero. Great place for the entire family without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Mr. Broski B.

Yelp
Great place for some retro gaming fun! It's located in the beautifully quaint historic district of McKinney. My girl and I very much enjoyed Arcade 92 and it was a nice find while we were strolling through the square. Also, the have Guitar Heroooo :D
google avatar

Judy I.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Arcade 92 this past Saturday night. After 9pm it's adults only. $12 all you can play. Free parking on the garage next door. We had a fun time playing our favorite arcade games. They have a good selection of all the favorites like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong. Plus, Terris, Tron, and Asteriods. There are several pinball machines as well as gaming consoles where you can kick back and play. A decent selection of beer and other cocktails are available at the bar and you can order food as well. It's from Foxiis next door but the staff will go pick it up and bring it over to you. We'll go back any time we want a fun night of hanging out and playing arcade games. I hope this place does well as it's a great concept for downtown McKinney.
google avatar

Alan C.

Yelp
Nice throwback to the 80s and 90s with various arcade games and pinball machines. For 12.00 per person you have access to unlimited games to play until closing. They also sell alcohol, some food and beverages to enjoy while there. Nice for family, friends, couple and going solo. There is a free parking garage since very limited street parking. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
This post is for those considering a kids party here. I also see the owner responds to these reviews. Which is better than the response I received. I called and left a VM regarding the wanting my kiddos bday there; a few kids and questions regarding the cake and table reservations. Left my phone number. I ALSO filled out the online application to inquire about this. I took a screen shot of the confirmation that someone would reach out. Nobody did. At all. I did this 4 days in advance and heard nothing. Crickets. So I defaulted to their website which states that 'cake and similar items are allowed although a grey area with McKinney's health code'. I show up with a small party of kiddos and cake. NOW they can let me know: The cake is not allowed inside unless I pay $100 for a table reservation. Y'all. That has nothing to do with health code. And if I have known this by a response from them I could have budgeted this for the party. I don't care much for surprises though. So how my kids cake is outside- to which would have also been FINE if I had known and could have packed it in a cooler. So. Since the website is not honest or clear for anyone trying to plan their kids party: it's $100 to come inside w the outside bday sweets. The patio is free so one could make arrangements accordingly to make that work.

Yelp
Fun place we visit often. Nice beverage options. Game are quality and work well. Good place to kill time or take dates.

The concept is pretty neat: Play the video games you did in your youth. They have a nice selection of those games. For $12 "all you can play" is not a bad deal. . Stick with that and just drinks and you'll be fine. I wish I had. They forgot to put in part of our food order, but that was a blessing in disguise. The food is mediocre at best. The place / ambiance is rather grubby, and the service is fair. If I were to go again, I'd play there, eat somewhere else and come back for more play time. You can come and go from the place as you please, just don't lose your wrist band.
