New Wine Bar Alert!!
For those that know me, KNOW that wine is my ultimate go-to alcoholic beverage of choice. I drink wine over any other alcoholic beverage in most places and on most occasions if it is offered on the menu. So, naturally, I enjoy visiting good wine bars.
I was elated to learn about The Arden joining The Yard in Ivanhoe Village. Missing the former food hall (The Hall on the Yard) but looking forward to the new reimagined food hall (City Food Hall), it's been so refreshing seeing NEW local restaurants/bars and businesses spring back up in The Yard plaza. And naturally, when I learned The Arden would be a wine bar that focuses solely on wine and wine based drinks, I just knew I had to run (not walk) to pay them a visit!
My oh my, they did not disappoint!
Andy was my server and she was awesome! Also, she was a former colleague with a good friend of mine (small world) that used to work at Sixty Vines on Sandlake, so we got to chatting!! She is just the sweetest and I hope to see her again the next time I pay The Arden a visit. All in all, my time at Arden was truly made special by how awesome Andy and the rest of the staff were.
I didn't get to try their speciality wine based drinks but I did have a LOVELY glass of Pinot Noir and sampled a couple of other wines. I was also recommended a good natural wine (a Malbec wine by the name of Santa Julia) to try the next time I visit - which I will when I return because I will be returning.
Overall, this place is very nice. It is modern with a lot of trendy elements like the industrial glass garage door that opens up to The Yard, sleek furniture and a very "set-the-mood" lighting ambience. It was not too packed when I visited - especially for a Friday evening and the vibe was super chill. I can't wait to see how this wine bar grows with the Ivanhoe Village community. It's such a great pairing with the handful of other wine spots along Virginia Ave and within the Ivanhoe community.
Definitely pay them a visit if you haven't done so already.
