Great local bar. Great live music on Thursday nights. The house band Star 69 will let u sing if u think u have the chops. (Always an extra mic set up) You can sit outside and watch 1st Ave flow by.

I simply love Rico! He's an amazing bartender, but also one of my coolest friends. It was he who invited me here, and I'm so glad he did.

Good drinks and service, but some disabled person inside the bar who was harassing the bartenders last night, kinda ruined the experience.

Was thinking about grabbing a drink after using the restroom since their page says they’re welcoming to the strangers but they told me the boss doesn’t allow strangers to come in without buying so I guess they should change their bio.

It’s a dive bar. Really lowkey awesome place. The bartender was super nice.

Had an amazing time throwing our birthday party at Area 140 First Bar! Mike D is the best and so easy to work with! We had the best birthday night ever and all of our friends had a blast. The drinks were delicious and the vibes were so fun. 10/10 cannot recommend this bar enough!

Yelp
Great bar. One of the last true dives in the East Village, and yet bursting with unique energy. Bring your brain game because if you're well read and math-oriented, there's a challenge for you. Owner is splendid -- what other bar do you know that breaks out a 2 a.m. cribbage game -- and drinks, other than the usual dive standards, are creative and delicious. Don't let this one slip by on your next East Village romp.

Yelp
Excellent service, personable bartender. Can't ask for anything more. Will come back the next time I'm in town

Yelp
Great time, great music. My friends and I had a lovely time with graham in the afternoon and Rico at night. Lovely bartenders that took care of us all night

Yelp
This is a friendly, casual, no frills bar. I liked Hard Swallow, but this new bar is more friendly, approachable, and has more fun cocktails. The prices are very reasonably. My new favorite cocktail to order here is "White Trash Russian."

Yelp
This new bar is never busy because their prices are much too high. They want about $10 for a Heineken...this is not Yankee Stadium. SMH. Also, it is no thrills and they have no events to lure people here. They need to lower their prices, and come up with some type of theme or events to bring folks in. Otherwise I doubt this bar will last with much more affordable options nearby. I will update this review if anything changes for the better.
