I was really excited to try this spot as arepas are easily one of my favorite foods of all time, and they aren’t as common in Philly as I’d hope. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as thrilled as I hoped and I don’t expect this to be a go-to for me in the future. The “Curvy Queen Arepa” is their Reina Pepiada (literally Curvy Queen in Spanish), a chicken and avocado salad arepa. The chicken salad was very flavorful and I could immediately taste the lime juice and cilantro mixed in. Unfortunately, the avocado took the backseat and the mayonnaise ultimately dominated the flavor of the salad. Halfway through I wasn’t sure if they remembered the avocado. Aside from that, I was mostly disappointed in the arepa itself, which was fairly stale and cold. If the arepa was fresher it would have complemented the salad well, but it didn’t rise to expectations.

Had the pleasure to taste Venezuelan food for the very first time, and I have to say…I’m impressed! I wasnt sure what to expect but the flavors really surprised me in the best way.. The arepa texture (Reina peleada) crispy outside.. soft inside with the chicken salad and the seasoning was spot on. You can tell it was made with care and authenticity and their hot sauce A+++ As someone trying this for the first time it was a great introduction…. I absolutely recommend it to anyone curious or looking to try something new I’ll definitely be having it again!

Came here after getting the Birthday cake ice cream from Milk jawn, had to come in after walking by days before after getting Dough head weekday special. Glad I had iPhone translate to help with my ask for recommendations and just randomly went with the Flurry Pelùa shredded beef with cheddar cheese, the beef empanada and the con todo hot dog. The hot dog I admit was a mistake and worst to get just not good lol n think maybe the hot dog was boiled but also not even as good as ball park Frank The carne mechada empanada was good but the arepa was the best of the 3. The spicy salsa was good but the avocado sauce good and definitely would help to add hot sauce. I’ll have to come back for the soups, grill specials, breakfast desayunos, n mains etc lol. They take Apple Pay and nice staff.

A small local shop with immaculate quick eats. I ordered the Carne Cashapa, 2 Arepas (chicken with queso blanco Avacado | Shredded beef add Avacado) & Passion fruit fresh juice. EVERYTHING was a 10/10. I’ve never had Venezuelan food in my life and now I’m craving it nonstop. All of the meat was seasoned and flavorful. Breading was sweet but not over the top. Sauces complimented everything. An absolute gem to come to.

I really enjoyed my first arepa at Arepa Grub Spot! I tried the Curvy Queen Arepa (avocado chicken salad). I did not know what to expect, but the arepa was packed with food and was very filling. The owner was also kind and welcoming - she provided excellent service! I really like the restaurant setup - the space with cozy and had a great vibe. This restaurant is a great spot that is worth the visit!

Of all of the places to get Arepa in the city, this is by far my favorite. Very flavorful. The arepas & cachapa are great, but I really loved my patacon with shredded beef today. And nothing beats their sauces! I will definitely be back.
