The 26 Best Things Made in Michigan’s Cities | Eater

"Ann Arbor’s year-round outdoor covered farmers market, which celebrated its centennial this year, is well worth a visit. But should you be in town on a non-market day (or just a frigid one), Argus Farm Stop, which opened its doors in 2014, offers farmers market goods daily in an indoor market and cafe setting. Everything is local from independent farms and producers within 50 miles and is about as fresh as it gets. Besides produce, meat, fish, and eggs, they feature goodies like baked goods from Crust bakery in Fenton (near Flint), corn chips from Ann Arbor Tortilla Factory, organic tea from Ann Arbor-based Arbor Teas, and unbeatable frozen treats from Go! Ice Cream in nearby Ypsilanti. Follow up your shop with a local latte and nibble in the cafe." - Vox Creative

My husband and I love visiting this cute farm stop when we are out at U of M for my treatments. The coffee is always delicious & you can tell they utilize fresh roasted beans. They have my fav “Tasty bakery” GF treats & my fav lotion by Tiani. They have the sweetest little “kids nook” in the greenhouse area that our kids love playing in… a bunch of Audubon stuffed animal birds and shopping cart to play with. Kind staff, well stocked grocery mart, clean bathroom. Great little gift shop. Such A sweet treat!

Google
Love this store and their support for local farmers. Definitely a place I will frequent for local meats, dairy products, and produce. Their coffee is well roasted and brewed and treats are well baked and are always fresh. This location in particular has a great variety of fresh produce and today (6/1) had tons of plants for sale just in time for summer. Just a gem in AA! Only downside is parking is tricky during busy times, but a short walk is worth it!

Google
A cute little local cafe and fresh product place! I ordered an iced Oolong tea and sat there enjoying observing customers and the cute store for an entire afternoon. Bakery is good, too! I bought a croissant back and it tasted good! One barista even warm and blended the honey for me to add it into my iced tea! A bit expensive vegetable and other products, but since it’s local business…

Google
cute cafe. cute store. cute atmosphere. way too small for the amount of people that visit this place. I had to stand outside for about 15 minutes waiting to get inside and order a drink. it's definitely popular and understandably so... the drinks are tasty and well prepared, and the staff is friendly. except the cashier within the store itself (not the cafe). but maybe she was just having a bad day... she gave me a very angry look when as I paid for a bottle of local honey and other items. if you come alone, make sure your phone's battery is fully charged. you'll be using it a lot while you wait. but if you have friends, family, or both with you, then you'll have plenty of time to chat and discuss your favorite drinks or perhaps suggest trying something new.

All the years I've walked by this place. Because of the pretentious people that I see going in there. And now that I don't live on the west side. I thought. Let me go in here and see what it's about. The employees were not bad, but their eyeballs were following me everywhere. It's just the customers that were driving me nuts. The uppitness and crustiness is beyond, rude and pretentious. I wasn't shocked. I got a lemon square, which is all right. Rice krispie treat, and basil, and a bag of barbecue chips. Bon appetit

I think Argus has the best coffee ever, period. I might be biased/spoiled, but I miss it since moving away and always look forward to the next time I’m home so I can stop by the cafe as much as possible! And White Lotus Wednesdays! (If you know you know!) The market model is creative and sustainability-focused, with an incredible variety of fresh produce and local products available year-round (yes, even in wintertime there are beautiful fresh greens!). The proceeds directly support local farmers. Whether you live within walking distance or are just stopping through town, Argus will have everything you need to prepare an amazing breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner at home, grab a wrap or salad on the go or linger over the best coffee ever in their cozy greenhouse workspace. Don’t miss out on the rotating seasonal lattes (great hot or iced). Secret tip, they can even make these for you at any time of year if you know what to ask for. And they have WiFi!

Google
Located conveniently located at the edge of downtown where the city transitions to residential. A great place to stop for coffee, a treat, or fresh produce or local items on your way home or to a gathering.

Yelp
I ordered a hot mocha from their coffee counter, and sadly it was not that great, I can hardly taste the mocha flavoring. The rest of the building is really neat and I'm sure convenient for those that live nearby to grab a few fresh groceries. Employees were a little awkward, they didn't necessarily greet me when I walked in.

Yelp
I'm a little bummed I lived in Ann Arbor and didn't know about Argus Farm Stop until long after I moved out of town. It's such a cool spot to pick up food supplies and also grab a good cup of coffee! I recently tried it out with a friend based on their recommendation and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The staff is friendly, the vibe is immaculate, and the décor throughout the establishment is welcoming. They have a great selection of coffee & similar beverages at the coffee shop portion, and a good amount of pastries as well! Expert pro tip from my friend: get the bread here! They have loaves ready to go in the market and apparently they are fabulous. The adjoining room is a nice (heated!) area to be able to socialize or get some work done and I really enjoyed that the other patrons who were using the space were respectful and friendly as well. Overall just a super warm and welcoming experience at Argus Farm Stop! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I love this farm shop. I come here often to study in the glass greenhouse library. It's the perfect place to sit during the winter when it's too cold to be outside for long, but you still want to be in nature as much as possible. Their London Fog is fantastic, and so is their selection of local produce. Coziest spot in Ann Arbor hands down.

Yelp
I call Argus my....secret coffee shop tucked away a block or two from main street. When I worked downtown this was my favorite go to spot before my long shifts. I'm delighted to say Argus Farm Stop's quality of their coffee/tea drinks, groceries, outstanding customer service and dedication to their community and partners remain true through and through. This is a neighborhood favorite, and I'm proud to say it's still one of mine on the rare occasion I'm back in town.

Yelp
Pleasant workers, great produce box. Haven't dined in for coffee though got carry out and the staff was super vibrant and helpful. Nice seating area. Parking is a challenge but easy to figure out.

Yelp
We have a litter of baby bunnies in our backyard that I have become fiercely protective over. In addition to covering them when it rains and putting out water during the super hot days, I wanted to make sure they had the most nutritious greens to help them grow big and strong now that they're eating solid foods. So, over the weekend I went up to Argus to get the most delicious greens I could get to give them, and of course I picked up some groceries for our house, too! (I'm not TOTALLY crazy). So many delicious, in season produce options to find here. Right now there were garlic scapes, strawberries, mushrooms, beets, and plentiful greens. And of course, local dairy, meats and cheeses, baked goods, and more. I filled my cart with hot dog buns from Avalon bakery, delicious bread from Crust bakery, cream from Calder Dairy, a pint of local honey ice cream from Go! Ice Cream, a bunch of organic green onion, and a little container of microgreens for the buns (they were particularly partial to what I think were the sunflower sprouts in the mix, FYI). I had just gone strawberry picking and have more berries than I know what to do with otherwise I would have gotten a carton of them, too. But if you're reading this around the time I'm writing this, now is the time to go get some! I also grabbed a cold brew coffee and some Crust pastries from the coffee bar. Everyone here was beyond friendly and pleasant, from the barista to the cashier, to the shoppers. I left with a skip in my step and a gratitude that such a lovely shop is less than 5 minutes from my house!

Monica L.

Yelp
Best secret coffee shop in A2. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but there were empty spots on the street on a Friday midday. The chaga chickory was incredible, and the barista kindly recommended adding maple to sweeten it. - A revelation! Service was kind and it felt like there's real craftsmanship in the drinks. The market looked super cool and full of local products. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Small grocery-sized market offering goods from local farms. Love their arugula and corn in the summer. There is an outdoor patio to enjoy coffee and baked goods. They have croissants from Lotus Farms if you miss their market days. Small parking lot for about five spots and bike stands.

Laura S.

Yelp
Overpriced for watermelons and strawberries even gone bad. Had bad service there, the stuff was rude and seemed racist, owner never properly addressed the issue and was very biased. Please do not support a business like this, there are way better local spots to help

Cr W.

Yelp
They have food from local farmers, some of which also sell at AA Farmer's Market. So all of it is local. Not the cheapest, but if you want the highest quality food to cook with, this is one place you have to look. I think they have some food to eat on site too, but I've never tried that. They have 3 stores, not sure why, except they're small. And they will deliver groceries to you also. See their website.

Jenny G.

Yelp
I love the coffee here at Argus. I always get the same thing and it never ever disappoints. They also have home grown produce from local farms, prepackaged goods from other restaurants, and home made pastries. I haven't tried many of these things so I can't really comment on them, I just love their coffee.
google avatar

Christian L.

Yelp
Rude tie die witches work this broke-down skeletor. Like another reviewer said: this place needs a management change: somebody to help business flow. Selection picked thru. Vegetables on the floor. Early Winter morning is not the time to hold up a line of 6 shivering elderly - and me - who were nice enough to stop by: while you have a long winding discussion about pregnancy, poop, the pill, puke, nausea and c-sections! Would not even acknowledge me at cashier. RUDE as all get-out.. Staff needs to be fired! Overpriced. Burned out! Rebel: 2

Yelp
Argus Farm Stop doubles as both a market and a coffeeshop. First of all, I love how huge their coffee mugs are. Bigger coffee is always better. I tried their honey latte and it was really good! I love the greenhouse-style coffeeshop where you can sit under the natural light. It gets a bit too bright but it's a really nice space to be in the winter. There is limited seating in the cafe. There are two big tables for bigger groups to share and two smaller couch type seating. They only have a couple parking spots so you gotta be lucky enough to get them.

Yelp
I've been here twice and both times I've come home with delicious produce. During strawberry season I bought some of the best berries that I've had in a long time (better than the sour ones that I got at Produce Station). The next trip I bought tomatoes, head of lettuce, a bag of mixed salad greens ($6 for about 6 large salads), and fantastic cherries. They also have frozen meat, fresh eggs (duck, quail, and chicken), and some packaged food.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
This is a great little shop for getting "the farm to your table" especially when it's not the season for an outdoor farmers market. Besides actual farm veggies, meats, dairy and eggs, they have a selection of bread from a local bakery and many small homemade local items like jams and other jars and bags of things that I did not have time to investigate. What's really cool is that most of the items have little tags on them, labeled with the name and location of the farm, the variety of the item and the price and you turn in the tag to the cashier who then credits the supplier. Love the system. The locals I know here in Ann Arbor shop here frequently and I have tasted many great items. This trip produced awesome radishes, a loaf of fresh brioche, some beautiful heirloom carrots and a few other things I can't recall at the moment. Having eaten those that I do recall, I'll say they surely measure up to someone who grew up on an organic farm, before it was "thing."

Yelp
Great to support local farmers! What a fantastic idea to collect everything in one convenient location. I was excited to see bread from Crumb bakery, coffee from Hyperion, and locations of which farms the fresh produce was sourced - reasonable prices, but expect to pay more than the traditional grocery store. I'm glad that I checked out the parking map prior to visiting because space is limited, however we lucked out with a space out front. Plenty of room to park bicycles out front, or street parking surrounding the shop. I didn't realize there was a coffee bar - I would have tried some but I'd already had coffee - and there was a long line of stuffy Ann Arbor types staring down their noses at me - maybe because I parked out front in my gas guzzling SUV? Not sure?? We purchased eggs, yogurt, fresh bread, Swiss chard, carrots, blueberries, and frise. There was a huge selection of stone ground flour that looked impressive and fresh. The bread and coffee beans also looked enticing. The shelves were well stocked, but given that this is all locally grown, seasonal produce, the selection was limited. I think I'm going to try the Packard location next time. The produce, eggs, and dairy products were incredibly flavorful - much better than what we'd typically get at Costco or TJs. I'm a fan!

Yelp
Lots of local shops have their products available here. Yes some are expensive however you know what you're getting, where it came from and what was put into the product. Local dairy, meats, honey, hot sauce, coffee and tea, herbs and much much more.

Pallavi R.

Yelp
I used to love going to Argus Farms for my morning coffee until they did a shakeup with the staff. The old staff were friendly, fast, and reliable. Unfortunately the entirely new staff of batistas are slow, forgetful (got my order wrong numerous times!), and don't seem to understand when you have a line going out the door, don't spend 5 minutes talking to 1 customer! It's frustrating because people have to go to work in the morning and can't be late! Not a fan of the new baristas. Just want the old staff back!

Wilson P.

Yelp
The coffee. The bread. The farmers market vegetables any day of the week. The preorder turkeys at Thanksgiving. The eggs. Then all the stuff in the cooler--Calder's cottage cheese? Did you know our local dairy even made cottage cheese? This place changed the game for Ann Arbor groceries.

Yelp
I saw an article on Argus Farm Stop from the Edible magazine and knew that I had to check it out. The space itself is pretty small and you can be sure to accidentally bump into other customers or stand in their way. However, it is a charming little shop. Everything they carry in the stores from produce to packaged goods (coffee, pasta) is local. They do have a nice selection of vegetables. I am sure it is different every time you go, but I found some amazing finds that I would never be able to find at Whole Foods like tatsoi (Asian type of spinach), Romanesco cauliflower, organic sprouts, etc. I think their vegetable selection is pretty solid. They don't have quite as large of a selection on fruit but I have found pawpaws and ground cherries! They also have a good selection on dairy products (local feta cheese, eggs) as well as frozen meats. They do have some grass fed beef. I also saw ground mangalitsa pork which I have never seen being sold before. For all of the first timers, you will see that some of the produce has bar code stickers next to it. Just bag your produce and stick the bar code on the bag. They do this to ensure that the correct farm gets the money from the purchase. Support this shop! You will feel good doing your food shopping here because 80% goes back to the farmers. Some specialty items may be a tad more expensive like paw paws, Michigan kiwis, etc but overall the prices are very reasonable. Argus Farm Stop is a gem and I wish there was a shop like this in Royal Oak!

Yelp
I really like this place - they have a GREAT selection of local veggies, eggs and meat. I would shop here all the time if I lived in the neighborhood... but since the parking is TERRIBLE, likely I won't be coming back to Argus.

Yelp
I had been wanting to visit Argus for a few months and the warm weather finally allowed me to make my way over. The greenhouse was the perfect sitting place to read a book but my one complaint is that I had a hard time connecting to the wifi so I wouldn't come back if I was looking for a place to do homework. I enjoyed browsing their produce from local farms and would come back if I wanted to pick up some specialty items (apple butter, carrots that actually look like they've come from the ground, homemade granola, even goose eggs!). I had the peppermint tea which was a bit overpriced but expected and did the job. The service was friendly though so I am giving the place 4-stars. They were also well informed when helping me make a tea decision and I even overheard a worker helping a customer and giving details about whether or not the beef was grass-fed.

Yelp
For months i've been hearing murmurs of a new market that will revolutionize how we approach local produce. I'd heard "it's down town" and "it's over at this cool building on Liberty" never quite knowing what the heck people were talking about. Then I took a lazy summer drive on the west side of town, and I found Argus Farm Stop. The space is beautiful - a reclaimed mechanics shop is definitely iconic for the food revolution that is trying to produce heathy local food out of the relics of a failed modern past. There's good coffee - I think they've teamed up with local favorite Roos Roast, and you can get a really nice macchiato, latte, or plain 'ol drip coffee. The produce is good - I found a diversity of locally grown organic produce being sold at what I feel is a very competitive price. Yes, some things like the meat and the garlic seemed a bit pricey, but perhaps they should be - they take a lot of time, energy, and effort. Other itms we're only slightly more expensive, like the peaches, which we're only .30 more than conventionally grown peaches from Hillers, but had far more flavor than any peaches i've been able to find in the area. I mean, WOW! They've also got all of your other local favorites like Calder Dairy, and Seeley Farms. I think if you're into food, I don't know how you could love what Argus has to offer. And the people are lovely. This market is about providing the community with local food, for the benefit of the community, and they do it with love and care. Produce station, Plums, and Whole Foods are off the list - I'll be seeing my new friends at Argus from now on.

Yelp
I am very excited for this new addition to the neighborhood. A year-round farm stand! Tiny place with an amazing selection of locally sourced produce, dairy, baked goods, meats and other neat edibles. The coffee bar takes up a lot of space but who doesn't love a coffee bar in Ann Arbor. I just hope they will be able to keep heated and open in the winter, without freezing the staff. Small parking area, but close enough to downtown you can easily walk. Foot traffic should increase with the new creamery on the corner too. I bought a small french bread loaf to go with dinner, and a half gallon of Calder milk. $1.50 deposit on the milk bottle, but I don't mind if it means I don't have to recycle the plastic jugs from the grocery store. Trying something new. This is the corner store moms wish for, to pick up wholesome ingredients for dinner, so we don't HAVE to trek through the big stores. Love it.

Amy S.

Yelp
Argus sells locally-grown produce -- and they also have a bar that makes coffees and drinks. Probably not a place where you can do all your grocery shopping. They have seasonal produce and it can be a little pricey if you're on a budget, but I would definitely come here to pick up a couple veggies. They also have pre-made goods in one of the corners of the refrigerated sections. I love their bars that they get from Tasty Bakery, but I recently bought Japchae from the section which was pretty disappointing. I've also heard that they have incredible soup -- something that I've been meaning to try for a while. Their coffee is great and they have a cute selection of pastries and snacks as well (ex: croissants, rice krispies, cookies, etc). The baristas and staff there are super nice and they're always there to help answers questions or give recommendations. There are a couple seats in the front by the bar as well as an assortment of seating in their cute glasshouse. There are picnic benches out where you can sit at when it's warm. It's great spot to get together with someone over coffee and snacks, but it can be hard to focus if you're doing work there (it's a small place and it can get crowded/noisy at times). Such a great place to come to with a great purpose to empower local businesses! Definitely worth a trip if you haven't gone.

Yelp
Literally my new #1 spot in Ann Arbor !! It is like every local persons dream to have a Farm Stop like this - its the coolest invention ever!! You know the produce is as fresh as it comes, its like an indoor farmers market ! You'll have to be into whats in season to eat here - you can see all the farms where the food comes from - theres a sign near each product. It is like an educational journey in food when you are here there are different signs ie: these are the 10 different types of Radishs - and you can literally LEARN and EAT FRESH. They have great treats and breads from Crust & Tasty Bakery ! also in the cafe section - freshest local coffee, espresso, teas etc ! My favorite item right now is the Kalamata Olive Twistlets ! the other night there was a FIRE PIT outside !! I LOVED IT ! enjoyed my nice fresh pepermint tea sitting out there :D :D there is free parking !

Yelp
This place needs to up its game with customer service. Barista is being distracted by customer conversations and takes forever. Seems like the cashier was in the training process. Which is a bad idea during the time around people are on their way to work. I specially told cashier decaf americano, barista made a caf americano. Fail. Simple business rule: loss of efficiency means loss of income. The layout with having pastry person outside but you pay inside is also frustrating. It should be self evident and not have to ask. Consider taking a customer flow design course. All-in-all seems like it's a place where the people working there don't really need to be earning a salary, perhaps their partner at home supports them, or they are retired. My lesson learned: do NOT go there if you have any desire NOT feel your life slipping away.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Great fruits and veggies, plus an impressive organic meat selection. This place feels like a tiny indoor farmer's market, complete with coffee stand. Great mushrooms, a wide range of tomatoes (from tiny currant tomatoes to giant heirloom varieties), and the biggest fennel bulb I've ever seen --- all spectacular. Each bin has a sheet of bar-code stickers --- grab one to show which particular type of potato you selected. A week after opening, they don't have the checkout working to match the produce --- only one of the two registers was functioning at all, and a bag of groceries took more than five minutes (while the line grew behind me). I'm sure that'll get ironed out. The coffee bar was well-adorned with Roos Roast stickers and a few others; definitely an emphasis on espresso, rather than caramel syrup, as the main ingredient. Once they get the register figured out, Argus Farm Stop will be one of my local grocery runs.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Argus Farm Stop has amazing produce and local goods, but you cannot shop here if you are POC. Every time I come here with my partner, we are followed, monitored, and policed. No welcome, no "do you have any questions?" just straight-up bad customer service. It's a shame considering that they have such a good selection! Anyways, just letting fellow BIPOC know that this place may not be the safest.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Love the greenhouse looking area where you can plop down on a couch and read till they close. Coffee's great and pastries are delicious! Wish the area where you order coffee wasn't so crowded but it's a small price to pay.
google avatar

Liz P.

Yelp
Went here today because I was in A2 for the day and needed tomatoes, and didn't feel like stopping by Meijer on the way home. The produce all looked really nice. I bought some summer tomatoes ($3/lb.) and a pint of cherry tomatoes ($3/pint) which wasn't too expensive. Some of the stuff is a little overpriced ($4.50 for a chocolate turtle, for example) but the other prices are fair considering it's all homegrown stuff. My friend got a coffee at their coffee shop, too (all one store), and there are outside places to sit for when the weather is nice.
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
I fell in love with Argus Farm Stop when I went there one afternoon. It wasn't warm out yet, but I heard in the summertime they grill outside. I ordered a vanilla latte from their coffee shop area. I purchased a few vegetable salads which were delicious and some of the best vegan mint chocolate chip cookie dough. I ordered a couple of these amazing kale/date sweet bars and learned about the best berry bars ever! I 100% recommend checking it out if you're in area and buy some local produce :)

Diana C.

Yelp
I visited Argus Farm Stop when it first opened and loved perusing the wonderful, albeit small, selection of local and seasonal produce and products. I did find it a bit too expensive to do all of my grocery shopping there, so I never really went back. However, I was walking around Ann Arbor the other day and noticed they had put a new greenhouse addition which was doubling as a coffeeshop! So of course I had to check it out. It's a lovely area with LOTS of natural lighting (I mean, you're sitting in a greenhouse so of course you're surrounded by windows). It's much less congested than the other coffeeshops closer to downtown, and that makes for a quiet atmosphere and lots more available seats. Who doesn't love that, right? They have overhead heated lamps in the winter and outlet plugs along the walls as well. The coffee/tea selection is great, and they have a wide variety of pastries, including dairy and gluten free! You also have the option of grabbing a juice or other snacks from the grocery section. The customer service here is top notch, and you can tell that everyone really cares about the products and truly loves what they do. I think it's safe to say that this is my new favorite AA coffeeshop!
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
The coffee is always great. The tenor, an indoor farmers market, is just awesome. The staff wear multiple hats, but always smiling and friendly. Pick up produce and products from local farms while enjoying your latte.

Craig R.

Yelp
What a beautiful store this is: top of the line produce and bread and a knowledgeable and helpful staff. And we are supporting local farmers and bakers and chocolatiers when we buy here. And it's a most pleasant place to shop. I just moved to Ann Arbor and I am grateful to be supporting this wonderful business.
google avatar

Mona S.

Yelp
The best! Great produce, great coffee and pastries and great people Bill and Kathy who founded this farmer friendly independent market. The freshest organic produce, meat, fish and dairy! You won't be disappointed ;))
google avatar

Deb S.

Yelp
Disappointed at the Liberty Rd location. Amazing products, but the staff was rude when I asked about a water bowl for my dog on a 90- degree day. They were also rude and "spacey" with my simple order of a black coffee and scone.
google avatar

B. K.

Yelp
My partner and I LOVE this place and love supporting local, ethical, etc. YET I just I paid OVER SIX BUCKS for a lemon-blueberry muffin (pretty good) and an earl grey tea (pretty good). This is just to say that I was a bit astounded when the very nice cashier took my twenty and gave me back two fives, three ones, and some coins. I do believe you get what you pay for, but Argus, this is a bit excessive: if folks can't get a pastry and a tea for less than six bucks, the word 'elitist' comes to mind. Arg. should have three money signs, not two!! We'll certainly be back. And next time I'm put off by the price, I promise to politely decline, citing the price.

Yelp
This is only a review for the coffee. I ordered a regular coffee. $3.25. Most disgusting coffee I've had in Ann Arbor. Hot water basically and had to wait for barista to make all the espresso drinks first. Not sure if they are making Americano or just horrible drip but it was a total let down on a Monday when I just needed a good cup.

Yelp
This place is so rare! The owner told me they have only found 1 other of its kind in the US! If you see the owner, shake there hand, because they're REALLY doing good. I spent a lot of time in CA and its a trend now to shop local and you see all kinds of 'farmers markets' or artisan market type "malls" popping up all over. But they're not really catering to the farmers and trying to help them or really appreciate the craftsmanship they do. They're in it for the money. Argus really cater to the farmer...not there pocket book. Yet they're a business because they have an amazingly good coffee bar. What a unique 'big picture' idea! They can REALLY help our small farmers and artisans because they are sustainable. If you REALLY want to shop local and REALLY want to appreciate your small farmers...GO HERE! They carry great products and keep adding more and more. What makes going here even better is that I know I'm also supporting people that are supporting the greater good.

Yelp
It's been great to shop at Argus Farm Shop when visiting Ann Arbor. I appreciate their commitment to supporting local farms & I like their vibe in the store. They offer a lot of variety, so it's possible to get everything you need for dinner...meat, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, cheese, & more! My biggest suggestion is around the barcodes. I understand the reason for using them, but they're also a pain to put on the products. I end up with loose carrots in my basket & needing to put a barcode on one of them, so they can ring me up properly & the payment can go to the appropriate farm. Then, when I get home, the barcode sticker is stuck to the tomato, carrot, or whatever vegetable it is, & I have to peel off the sticker, sometimes leaving a residue on the fruit/vegetable. The experience shopping at a farmers market is much smoother for this reason. Again, I love the mission, love the products, but wish the system for getting the food was a bit easier. Keep up the great work Argus!

Yelp
Bill Brinkerhoff and Kathy Sample have made their farm market a destination spot in Ann Arbor. Everything is locally grown or produced and can be counted on to be fresh and flavorful. There is nothing else like it.

Yelp
The coffee is very good here. I've gotten a couple groceries here as well and they are usually good quality. They sell crust bread but I prefer Avalon or zingermans. I've gotten two loaves of bread and I've been disappointed both times I live quite close and walk by everyday. Their parking situation is very frustrating. They don't have clear signs about parking so their customers are constantly blocking the sidewalk, which is unsafe for pedestrians and bikers. I took off a star because of this.

Yelp
What a hidden gem this was! Great spot for a cup of coffee and amazing pastries. Also picked up some locally grown produce and bakery items while I was here. This place really captures the feel of Ann Arbor and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I love having this place on Liberty. It's on my way back from town or on my way in the morning. The people are friendly, knowledgeable and fun. My usual is a mellow coffee with steamed soy....AHHhhhh.

Yelp
ARGUS FARMS IS AMAAAAAZING!!! Argus farms truly goes above and beyond for their customers. I am big on service and they way a company treats people. For me, you can have the best product in the world. If you treat people poorly or act entitled and unappreciative to business their customers give them then I write the entire place off. Argus farms not only cares about your business but it feels like they care about you as a person, too. On top of fabulous service, their produce is fantastic! They have a wonderful freezer section filled with all kinds of fresh meats.

Yelp
Argus Farm Stop is part of my week, it is part of my community, it is part of my lifestyle. It is a meeting greeting place, it is a farmers market, it is a fish market, It is a fresh pasta market, it is a meat market with everything local and delicious. Its where I buy my flowers in the summer and my hot chocolate in the winter. There are wonderful treats for my dogs, well made Americanos and other drinks for my spirits. it is a meal spot and on the weekends its got an outdoor smoker addition. They owners are warm friendly and have thought of everything to make your experience as good as it gets. There is car parking, there is dog leash ties, there is bike parking and there is heated outdoor seating for the winter. Ive been to a concert, a party a book reading. This is a true community.

Yelp
Wonderful concept with a really great selection of local foods year round. Nice atmosphere with yummy coffee and cozy seating. It's very convenient to have so many local foods and produce in one location! Check it out! You won't regret it.
