Argyle Winery

We made a reservation for a wine tasting on a Friday afternoon, but we don’t think a reservation was necessary. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were immediately sat with two complimentary glasses of the sparkling Pinot Noir (part of the wine tasting). We had a few people serving us through our tasting, but they all did a great job with explaining the wines and checking in on us. We just did the bubbly flight and were considering doing a second flight, but instead one of the employees offered us a taste of 2 of the Pinot Noirs since we mentioned we preferred reds which was awesome. She mentioned the Nuthouse Pinot Noir was a fan favorite, and I can definitely see why; it was our favorite wine here! It was a very laid back, fun vibe, even with their own [stray] cat hanging out! I’d highly recommend this winery and can’t wait to come back!

Argyle Winery is a class tasting experience, specializing in bubbles. It’s a clean, bright, comfortable, but expansive room. They have Trellis onsite providing food, if you want a lunch experience.

It’s very nice that they greet you with some sparkling wine, and it’s a really cool renovated building and luxurious place. It felt a little anonymous though compared to a lot of wineries. The server wasn’t super knowledgeable about the wine, and there were a lot of different servers walking around and it felt kind of like a machine to get us in and out. It was also kind of a steep tasting fee for not a really personal experience. The wines were fine, nothing really stood out. Really fun place though, nice yard area with yard games, and kids and dogs are welcome.

We had an incredible wine tasting experience at Argyle. Malena and Joe were absolutely amazing. knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the wines. They made the tasting feel relaxed, fun, and informative without being overwhelming. Every pour was thoughtfully explained, and their hospitality really elevated the whole visit. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Argyle to anyone looking for a top-tier tasting experience.

My friend and I came for a tasting at Argyle last weekend and we had an incredible experience. Rachel R did our tasting, her knowledge and presentation was exceptional. Not to mention she’s also so fun. At the end we had her pick a recommendation and she didn’t disappoint with the rose sparkling. The patio is really nice to it just sets the tone for the whole experience. We will definitely be returning and asking for Rachel.

We joined the club recently and were delighted to invite friends for a tasting with us. The server was very well formed and timed the pours perfectly. It’s great to have a regular supply of sparkling wines that are delicious. My recent favorite is the Pinot Meunier - usually a blending grape but it was fantastic as a varietal. We also picked up the label set and are happy to support the education program for young artists.

Great wine, relaxing vibe, and dog-friendly too! Argyle Winery is a gem in the heart of Dundee — the wines are top-notch (especially the Pinot Noir and sparkling), and the tasting patio is absolutely beautiful. The staff was super welcoming and made us feel right at home. I brought my dog Rue along and she had the best time soaking up the sunshine and getting lots of love. It’s not always easy to find great wineries that are truly dog-friendly, but Argyle nailed it. Perfect spot to kick back, enjoy a flight, and take in that Willamette Valley magic. We’ll definitely be back!

Natalie gave me the best immersive experience ever! Got a history of Argyle, the 1st producer of sparkling wine in Oregon. Disgorged a bottle of sparkling wine, tried many of them and proudly labeled every one from sweetest to driest. There was a lovely charcuterie tray in the library. One of the most personal experiences I could have hoped for. It helps that my brother-in-law lives here! But this should be a stop on everyone’s tour!

I'm giving this place 2 stars simply for the excellent service our attendant gave us, otherwise I would probably give no stars. So kudos to our server. Probably should have known this was going to be a zoo when we saw the giant party buses in the parking lot with droves of drunk people pouring out of them. It was a circus to say the least. Giant tourists trap. Packed, extremely loud, cackling drunk ladies at the table next to us that were so loud I kept looking back at them hoping they would see my glare and realize they were too loud; it was rude and annoying. Line in the bathroom with a bunch of drunk ladies. Wines not very good, unmemorable, unimpressive and a total let down. Don't recommend this place or the wine. Tasting room was pretty, patio huge and they allowed dogs, which is actually why we chose to visit them in the first place. I didn't think to look them up on yelp first, would have probably skipped them based on their overall low score.

Had an amazing time here with my wife. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The tasting room is lovely and we enjoyed the outdoor patio area. If you love sparkling wine, Argyle is a must visit. Argyle has become a regular spot for us and we love the wine club!

The best place for sparkling in Oregon, and incredible Chardonnay for this girl who typically steers away from the varietal. The transformed tasting room is unique and beautiful plus relaxing, and they've just added new food options. Best place to start your day right off the strip.

Really enjoyed Argyle on our trip out to the Portland area! The tasting room is right off the main road but you can't even tell. Its a nice spot with a lot of care put into it, just as the wines have a lot of care put into them. We had a great time with awesome service and some great wines. There are some seriously spectacular bubbles at this place. We loved it so much we blew through all of our bottles and had to order more for the holidays! If you're in the area, make sure Argyle is on the list!!

Lovely setting! Great service and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The wines were delicious as well as the charcuterie board.

It is beautiful walking in. Lots of places for fun photo ops. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, indoor is air conditioned so it's great for the hot days. We chose to sit outside before the afternoon heat. The tables and chairs are comfy. The menu is simple. They have a charcuterie board available to snack on and a variety of tasty wines to sip on. I got a flight with reds and whites and we of course ordered the charcuterie. In the picture it doesn't show the crackers but it definitely has crackers and some toasted pecans. I have no complaints on my wine. I love reds especially and everything they gave me today, i was happy with. I even fell in love with the glass of nuthouse Chardonnay. Yum! The service is great, friendly and attentive. We didn't feel rushed, it was a very relaxed atmosphere. All in all, a great wine tasting experience. I will definitely be returning.

Wine was great! I am rating on the tasting experience and atmosphere. We visited this winery on our trip to Willamette based on the reviews. Familiar with Argyle brand - sold here on East Coast but never tried, so welcomed the opportunity for the tasting. So it was our second tasting (so comparing to the first) but beside the wine and very nice, friendly, service-it was just okay. Atmosphere was a nice building but very commercial (not on an actual winery). There is no food here or least we did not see a menu. It looked like they may have live entertainment on occasions but not on the day we were there. We were probably there for an hour at the most. Again great wine, bought 2 bottles.

Really great winery right off the Main Street! The service is amazing. We always get greeted and seated quickly. The servers always interact with us and give us info on what's new. They have wine for everyone. Great sparkling, whites and reds. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Wine tasting is a requirement when visiting the Willamette Valley - known for it's pinot noirs. Our friend recommended Argyle Winery and it couldn't have been a nicer experience on this cold and rainy day. Service was great as are the wines. The tasting room is beautiful and bright with floor-to-ceiling windows. The enclosed patio would be nice on a warmer day.

A beautiful tasting room. The place could not be more stunning and the hospitality was fantastic- we were greeted with a glass of champagne, and each enjoyed one of each of their current flights. Our server Amy was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us a special glass for our engagement. We went at 2 PM on a Saturday and it seemed like there was plenty of space/availability, although it was a 90 degree today so perhaps it kept the crowds down!

Came here with a group of friends for wine tasting. The atmosphere was very nice with options for both indoor and outdoor covered seating. We went with the outdoor option since it was nice outside. They had blankets on the chairs which made the experience extra nice. Our host was very knowledgeable about the selections of wine that Argyle offered and even told us how each wine was made. I got their sweetest wine to try - the 2019 Minus 5 Riesling which was their version of an ice wine. It had a very sweet, bright and fresh taste. Our group got some charcuterie boards to share. The boards are pretty small and have a little sampling of items you can pair with the wines. There was also a cute cat that wandered around the property outside - would recommend sitting inside if you are allergic to cats. Overall - Very nice experience, knowledgeable host, great ice wine but disappointed with the charcuterie board.

We throughly enjoyed our time spent at the winery!! Gorgeous tasting area and outdoor seating space! Very chill vibe when we went during the week day! We had a little sparkling wine and their cheese/meat sampling box- we were a bit shocked at the price of the small box it was more than the wine! But, the experience was fantastic so price be damned!! Our server was so friendly and very welcoming- we will definitely revisit when coming to Dundee!!

I visited Argyle Winery on 5/13/24 and did a Sparkling Wine Tasting. Dawn did a fantastic job making me feel welcome and explaining the wines. The ambiance is very peaceful and comfortable. Dawn and staff were able to pull together a beautiful Charcuterie board for me even though I didn't order it in advance. I absolutely loved the Sparkling flight and highly recommend visiting this winery!

Such a fun experience and easy breezy vibes. Our hostess Megan was so nice and informative. This is definitely a must stop when you visit wine county. Bubb's were delish.

I'm surprised at the 3.5 star rating. Our experience at Argyle Winery was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a winery and I've been to many wineries all over the West Coast. We had a reservation for the 10 am "Sparkling Experience." Mark was our host and he was SO knowledgeable about the process of making sparkling wine - I REALLY enjoyed hearing him talk. They did such a great job setting this up -- from the history of winemaking in Oregon to a demonstration of opening a bottle to explaining the various dosages......wow! Mark really made this an exceptional personal experience. I really highly recommend this winery for a ton of fun and knowledge and crisp brut sparkling wines!! What a way to start the weekend!! Cheers!

Order: variety Flight -2019 Nuthouse Riesling -2019 Reserve Chardonnay -2018 Blanc de Noirs -2021 Reserve Pinot Noir Pros: we were first greeted by wine, which was really cool. The environment was cool and overall, the wines were really great! Dog friendly!!!!! Cons: wasnt a huge fan of the 2021 reserve pinot noir. It was very bold and had a very interesting taste that I did not like. But this is personal opinion and not a dig at the winery (so this does not impact my score). I'll also admit Im a newbie to wine.

The ambiance was lovely. This place is huge and has a lot of indoor and outdoor seat with a private parking lot. It would be a beautiful place to hold an event! The server was very nice and knowledgeable. He told us about all the different wines we tried but the wine was hard to drink for me. It was very weak, I prefer something bolder, and VERY earthy (aka tasted dirty). Unfortunately, I didn't find one wine I enjoyed here. The charcuterie was ok too. I think the presentation could've been better. Overall this was a beautiful place with good service. I just didn't enjoy the wine, however, everyone has a different palette so you may love it; one of my friends who was with me did! Definitely give this place a shot.

While I love the space and the proximity to Portland, I would have hoped that out of 4 tasters in the Pop flight, that at least three of them would be lovely. We found the first and the last in the flight enjoyable, but the middle two very sour and strange and couldn't even drink them. When I brought it up, our server even agreed but didn't offer much alternatives and gladly charged us for both tastings. The service was friendly but she clearly wanted to cram in the 5 minute "welcome spiel" into a 2 minute commercial. We were also brought out all 4 pop tasters at once when we sat down, which started to make the tasters warm and flat (but we were offered a fresh one at the end which was nice) We did love sitting outside in a fall/winter drizzly day which was more than comfortable and warm and cozy. Overall OK experience but so many other amazing destinations to make this a stop.

Stopped by Argyle Winery on a day of sipping through the Willamette Valley. Their sparkling wines were amazing - definitely their claim to fame. Their tastings are a little more expensive than others in the area ($45 per tasting), but the quality did not disappoint. Four stars only because the atmosphere was a little upscale for my liking (I prefer more casual and more outdoor seating options).

This winery is def the place to go when you're in Oregon wine country! We came in with no reservations on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 6. The hosts were so pleasant and accommodate us even though they were packed! Service was on par! The wine was top notch. We did order food from another establishment but no food is allowed so they let us eat outside in their beautiful pavilion area and saved our table while we chowed down. They even brought us utensils and napkins! We found out a couple of days later that they were named a winner of the 10 Best Reader's Choice Award for Best Wine Tasting Room. How cool is that?!

Busy location but friendly and accommodating staff. I was in Oregon for a weekend and have friends in the wine industry who recommended I stop into Argyle as I am a huge fan of sparkling wine/champagne and Argyle is known for their bubbly. I called and attempted to schedule a reservation but due to covid restrictions, their capacity was limited so they suggested I stop in and order a glass from the bar and enjoy on the extensive patio on the property. When my party arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff and they checked again for any cancellations to see if they could squeeze in my party of 4 but were unable. No problem, they escorted us to the bar and invited us to review the list and order a glass to enjoy outside. Once we had our glasses, we walked out and found a lovely patio area with a variety of seating options which were perfect for lingering and enjoying a glass or two. while we didn't have a chance to enjoy the full experience, we were pleasantly surprised with the service and the wines and hope to return in the near future.

Love the venue and great wine. Enjoyed both sparkling and still flight of wine. Enjoy your tastings but DO NOT buy it here as you will kick yourself when you find them for less than half the cost at local Costco and grocery stores.

We joined their wine club this year as I have always enjoyed their outdoor tasting area and easily accessible locale. I'm also a huge sucker for bubbles so anything that involves sparkling wine is a yes in my book. That being said, as a member I have been disappointed thus far. The tastings feel very impersonal, as they drop off a pre poured flight, quickly explain what you have and leave you to your own devices. There's really not much interaction/discussion, which is what makes wine tasting so much fun. I recognize they're busy and wine tasting experiences similar to other wineries may be a tough stretch, but it still feels rather impersonal. Winery events have also been rather limited and so far there's been no great release parties. Might be thanks to covid, but we've attended some fun winery parties for other wineries we're members of so just expected more. We'll see how it goes in the new year and whether we'll keep this membership, but so far can't say I recommend it.

We had such an amazing time at Argyle. We splurged and did the Sparkling Experience. There is a lot of bubbles, and they are all so good. It was so worth it! Huge shout out to our guide Mark: he had so much knowledge about the wine. He was very patient with a loud group of ladies. He added so much to our experience. Highly recommend this beautiful winery.

This place was gorgeous!!! Great wine & really kind, helpful service from this radiant vegetarian gal! Lots of beautiful people here - I felt like a troll walking in so be prepared to feel like you're in LA. I was in town visiting & as I went to write this review, was searching for Argyle in California because I actually forgot where I was lol. So bougie!! Really beautiful spot in Oregon's incredible wine country. Recommend!!

We had a lovely tasting experience of their bubbles flights. The som was friendly and shared a lot of great information. The space had a lot of natural light and lively fresh flowers. I'd definitely recommend visiting!

Quiet, upscale vibe. They close way too early (no tasting after 4:30), but I did enjoy my single glass of $30 sparkling white. Service friendly, but definitely at a "take your time" pace.

Do you notice an uptick of Willamette Valley wineries showing up at your local bottle shop? The secret is out! Today, Oregon has more than 700 wineries in total, making it one of the top 5 wine producing states in the US. Of course, everyone is familiar with the big wine business of Napa. But lately Willamette Valley is getting its time in the spotlight. Located just 50 miles south of downtown Portland, Willamette Valley is an easy day trip. The region is perhaps best known for its prized Pinot Noir, but it's also producing plenty of cool-climate varieties such as Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. There was no doubt that Argyle Winery would make our list of best wineries. If you love sparkling wine, this is your stop. This was the very first reservation I made on my trip. The winery is located right in the middle of the little town of Dundee, in the heart of Willamette wine country. The modern winery has a wide variety of outdoor seating as well as indoors. Argyle was founded in 1987 by vintner Rollin Soles, with a belief that the cool-climate of Oregon's Willamette Valley was ideal for producing sparkling wines. Their winemaking program now includes sparkling wines, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Rieslings, which have earned much acclaim. No other American winery but Argyle has earned recognition in Wine Spectator's "Top 100 Wines" in three wine categories: red, white and sparkling. We opted for their "Pop Flight" ($30 per person), which included 4 different sparkling wines. As someone who rarely drinks sparkling, with the exception of New Year's and celebratory occasions, I couldn't believe just how different each sparkling wine was from the next. Our wine server did a fantastic job explaining not just the flavor profile of each but the sparkling bubble patterns (small streams of bubbles vs. forced heavy bubbles that can sometimes be pumped in vs the natural product of fermenting). It was like a chemistry class -- you know, with alcohol. Maybe I would have done better in that class if alcohol was involved? Advanced reservations are highly recommended and can be made on Tock. We were amazed at how busy the place was, even on an early afternoon on a Friday. Guess happy hour came early for more than a few people!

Amazing! We've always wanted to visit this well known Oregon winery and it truly didn't disappoint. Our host, Lucas, ensured our tasting experience was over the top. Aside from some impressive sparkling wines, the Pinots and Rieslings didn't disappoint. The architecture of the building was gorgeous with plenty of seating and tasting options. Well done, we'll be back for sure.

The vibe and layout here are spectacular. The walls and ceiling are immaculate, and very open for noise dampening. You might feel like you're around a bunch of people, but you can't pick out any one specific conversation. Which is great because this was our third stop out of three for our wine tasting day. If you haven't read my other review, I was a designated driver for a girls night out, where I was designated an honorary female and allowed to sample wines, but not drink significantly. This tasting facilitator (I never know the technical term. Sommelier?), Phillip, also returned my back-and-forth banter about the vintage water options they had for tasting, and even brought out a few extra additions to our purchased tasting, since we were all getting along fantastically. I especially enjoyed the "wine swingset" presentation that allowed the easy carrying of multiple tastings, sixteen filled wine glasses were brought out by one person, which is just outright impressive. My wife and I bought three bottles of wine (mainly sparkling, which seems to be their specialty), a friend who accompanied us renewed their membership to their wine club, and both of the individuals who went with us bought their own few bottles of wine. In all, a successful trip, and highly recommended. Also, Phillip's tattoo is not "F for Phillip." I'll let him explain the meaning to you, but hopefully I may have saved some of you who visit some embarrassment

This was my first stop ever in Oregon Wine country, and I believe I picked the perfect place! The winds were superb and completely different than the wines in California (in a good way.) Kristi was a knowledgeable and accommodating server. I'd ask for her if she is working:) incredible pinot noir.

My friends and I went here for a much needed girl day. Our server Rachel was incredible. She was so knowledgeable about the wines and checked in with us to make sure we were having a great time. She was such a fun lady! 10/10 in my book!

Used to love to go to Argyle and I was a club member. Then you stoped letting me customize my club shipments. (Even for the same dollar amount). Haven't been back for years.

Sooo ... originally I was going to leave a bad review but one of the ladies turned it 180 degrees!! I want to say her name was Kelly ... I'm probably wrong ... but I first arrived and due to weather they were fully booked and not taking any walk ins ... the hostess at the front told me no more reservations for the day ... and I noticed they were giving complimentary welcome champagne ... well I was like maybe this is for the people who actually have a reservation ... but after I was directed to a side booth to purchase by the glass instead of a tasting because of the busyness... I noticed she offered the complimentary glass to others that she turned away ... so after no one helped me for 10 minutes and noticing I was never offered the complimentary glass I was ready to leave a bad review on customer service ... because I literally got off a plane rented a car and drove 1 hour just to come here BUT this angel lady (Kelley probably not her name) ... she literally gave me a tasting of all the sparklings and was so pleasant and welcoming!! I ended up buying two bottles and left as happy as I could be!!! If they are busy just be patient ... if ur a sparkling person and like a cute place to sip in ... then this is the place for you!

Went wine tasting while in wine country in Oregon. We were recommended to go to this place by a friend of mine and it did not disappoint. I loved the fact that we were greeted with a glass of wine before being seated. If you love bubblies and Riesling this is the place for you. I got the pop flight and my boyfriend got the variety flight. We also got a charcuterie board to share which was pretty good but a little pricey. We enjoyed it so much that we left with a wine club membership. Many wineries in this area are known for Pinot Noir so it's nice to find another winery that specializes in other wines.

A beautiful space to taste wine that isn't off the beaten path. I hired a private driver to customize a wine tour and this was his first stop. We tried a total of 6 wines (2 sparkling, 3 whites and a red) before being sold on three bottles of riesling at $30 each to wave the tasting fee of $20/person. Mark was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive about the wine. I would plan on spending about an hour here to enjoy the full experience. Check out the back wall, which is lined with correspondence from the White House regarding Argyle wines served at various state dinners.

If you love sparkling wine, this is your stop. This was our first time here and I was a little skeptical when I first walked in as It doesn't look like the kind of experience you expect from a winery outside town . The setting is very modern/industrial with most of the seating in the covered patio area and very few out on the garden. I would have loved something like this perhaps in the winter but with the gorgeous summer sun out , It felt like a waste of good sunshine to sit indoors . We had both the Tasting house flight and the Pop flight and they are identically priced at $30 each. The wines were crisp and refreshing and our friends ended up purchasing a few bottles .The service was good and our server did a fantastic job explaining the flavor profile of each wine and how they were made .The food menu is limited and the only option is a pre packaged charcuterie box. They were extremely busy all through the afternoon and hence I would highly recommend making reservations in advance.

Made an appointment to do a tasting and it was a lovely experience. The property is stunning. They have beautiful outdoor seating areas and I was lucky enough to get a very comfy lounge chair. The folks greeting guests were super genuine and friendly. My server was awesome. He was extremely knowledgeable and really did a great job. I ended up joining their club and left with a few bottles of bubbles. I cannot wait to go back when they are allowed to have release events. I am certain spakling wine is good for the immune system!

Don't even bother if you don't have reservations. We had decided spend a Sunday night in Dundee after a fun filled weekend with family and friends in another town. We didn't make a reservation at Argyle because we couldn't predict what time we'd make it into town and there were only 2 of us. We arrived at Argyle about 2:00pm. We walked in, and although many tables were full, easily a quarter were empty. We were curtly told we would not be able to do a tasting and we're shooed away elsewhere to purchase a glass of wine and sit at an empty table. Luckily the lady working at the next check stand was at least friendly. I'm still confused to why we couldn't have a tasting size of multiple wines...we could see hundreds of glasses on and behind the bar, they had wine, they had tables, there were only two of us.... We drank our glass of delicious wines, but promptly left for far more hospitable venues.

Second wine tasting of the day, and it was time for some bubbly! Known for its fantastic Brut, Argyle did not disappoint. A $30 flight of 3 Bruts and a fantastic Brut Rose hit the spot! I also had a glass of their namesake Nuthouse Pinot Noir. Our wine tasting server was really nice and even brought us some complimentary samples of another Pinot Noir called Spirithouse which was superb and a fine Knudsen Vineyard Brut . My wife loves champagne so we wound up buying a bottle of Brut to celebrate with!

Had a phenomenal time at the Argyle winery. A great tasting experience! Great flights to choose from and an open and spacious place to sit down relax and try their amazing wine selections. Love the natural light in the main room. I learned so much about wine and the way they do their Chards and Pinots from Katie. She is very knowledgeable and is passionate about the Argyle brand. Wish they had some food to go along with the tasting but its cool. Left very happy and satisfied with the level of service we got from Katie. Definitely recommend coming to this amazing winery!

Went in to tastes some bubbles and left with a membership. They have a great selection and the Pinot was our fav. The tasting room is calm and serene with knowledgeable staff. Will be back!

This place is fantastic. Edwin was terrific, an absolute savant of wine. The only negative is I think he ruined us for all other tastings. We will have to travel back to Portland if only to come back here.

We came with a large group and a reservation. The personal attention was great, and our server was really sweet. I feel like she could have explained a little more about the wines, but I also could have asked some questions so that's on me. The wine itself was ok. There was one, the Reserve Chardonnay, that was incredible. But the rest were not noteworthy. They also don't have food there. Of course we are capable of running to the store to get some snacks, but it would have been nice to be able to order even some cheese and crackers while we were enjoying our wine. They do allow you to bring in food, so if you plan for it you can enjoy something to eat with your wine.

I came here recently with my family. We were a group of seven (my parents and cousin have been vaccinated). They insisted on seating us at separate tables rather than at one table. I understand they are entitled to do this since it's their establishment. However, it also just seemed a bit silly considering that the previous winery we visited seated us all together. Yamhill County has been designated as low/moderate risk which means that per the state's guidelines they can seat 8-10 people per table. The staff seemed very focused on wiping down tables between guests...meanwhile the men's bathroom was filthy and evidently also poorly ventilated. We chose their spring wine tasting menu. The sparkling wines were all very good. The Pinot Noirs they featured were just okay - probably would have been more enjoyable had they breathed more. If I ever find myself back there again I would probably do their pop flight which features all sparkling wines.
