"Like many restaurants in the Galleria neighborhood, the West African spot Aria Suya Kitchen has the energy of a semi-exclusive club. Mostly thanks to plush booths and the latest Afrobeat tunes playing throughout the restaurant. As fabulous as the sleek deco is, the main reason to head here is for the food—like earthy egusi soup, beef-filled meat pies, and our favorite, the sizzling suya. The suya platters overflow with beef, chicken, goat, and fried suya wings, all coated in yaji pepper. If the suya isn’t tongue-tingling enough, you’ll find spice shakers on every table in case anyone needs to turn up the heat." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

"This Uptown restaurant offers an impressive menu of Nigerian fusion eats. Try the spicy beef with traditional jollof rice and plantains, or the okra seafood soup and fufu, a starchy ball of dough made from boiled, pounded white yams that often accompanies West African soups and stews." - Lane Gillespie, Kayla Stewart

Friendly and professional customer service. One of the few African restaurants where I didn’t have to wait long to get my order. Food was really good and I regretted not making the time to go back for more. Free parking available in the lot. I absolutely loved the decor and ambiance. Recommended. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m back in Houston in the future.

Google
Still have dreams about the catfish soup❤️They can do a better with general cleanliness of the place at the dining area but not terrible. Suya wings are good too! Suya wrap was blah just taste like rice bc the chicken suya inside the wrap is not real chicken suya but like grilled chicken with seasoning.I hope they improve this bc lots of potential. Fries were good Front hostess always very kind. Plantain chips with stew is a cute touch.

Google
Amazing first time experience of African food! Servers were friendly and explained items on the menu and made excellent recommendations!!! Will be back!

I need a nap now. The itis has taken hold of me and has no intention of leaving until I go lay down. The food was incredible. Perfectly seasoned, amazing flavor, and a hefty portion. The host was very attentive, friendly and prompt. The interior is beautifully decorated and the music is a vibe. I’ll be back as soon as I recover from being so full.

We came from out of town! The food was good! I loved the Suya! It was not as spicy as suya should be but I enjoyed it. The asun was really spicy but that's how it should be. The frozen zobo tasted like cherry juice. It was enjoyable but not zobo. The portion sizes were great! I feel like I got what I paid for, unlike other places I've been to. Overall a good experience!

Google
Ive tried different Nigerian restaurants like Taste of Nigeria and Omalicha Kitchen in Houston. I would say this restaurant is average, nothing stood out as amazing or different. I had the Beef Suya dish, as it comes. The meat was the best part of the dish but the jollof rice and plantains were dry. Service timing was 1 star but I’m giving it 3 considering they just opened and want to give them benefit of the doubt, it takes a while to get served here, and it was not super busy. Atmosphere was calm and the black and white color scheme dominates your vision. Overall, average, would not mind coming back once they’ve had a chance to establish their staff and timing a little bit better.

This is my second time having to complain about the food fire the chef that’s in the kitchen . This time my Food was very salty last time my food tasted very stale. This is ridiculous I’m never eating from here ever again . It’s like the chef is cooking with their eyes closed . I’m African and I know exactly what good food tastes like & this ain’t it .

Simi provided grade A+ service and made sure that we got all our items in a timely manner. Loved every second of my time here and my belly is thanking me so much for coming.

Yelp
We were greeted the moment we walked in by some beautiful young ladies. The place is beautiful. The food came out in a timely manner. There was an appetizer given which was fried banana chips with a dip which was delicious. Now this is my first time trying African food we also ordered some wings which was tasty fresh and delicious. Now for the main course is the fufu with the fish and shrimp soup. I was educated on how to eat. Lol. My financee had this meal. I ordered beef with vegetables I didn't care for it the meat was a little tough for me so she replaced with a fish soup which was very good and tasty. Two meals cost over $60. Do I recommend Yes I do..... thanks

Yelp
My friend and I were super excited to try a sit down Nigerian restaurant. While the food was great, the service was non-existent. We literally had to BEG for our food. However, I want to share that the food is excellent. My Suya shrimp was well seasoned, and the plantain was perfect. Although I wish my Jollof was spicier, it was tasty. I also wish my Zobo had more of a ginger flavor, but it was still refreshing. The spot wasn't too loud, and the art/decor was gorgeous! Parking is available in the front and back of the building. Would I go back to sit down and eat? No. This spot is definitely a grab and go/pick up situation, unless you have time to be ignored by staff.

Yelp
This was my second time here. From the last time I was here 1-2 years ago, they've changed the interior. They have a lounge but the two times I've been in there I haven't seen anyone in there. I personally ate the designer stew and it had just the right spice. The portion is very plentiful. The efo was pretty good as well. My fiancé had the jollof and didn't think it had much flavor this time compared to the last time we went. The place could be a little be cleaner , but the staff was pretty nice

Alice C.

Yelp
Very clean establishment with friendly service. They start you off with complimentary sauce and plantain chips that were so flavorful! Now onto the food- I've always wanted to try pounded yam with stew and this place did not disappoint. They let you do half and half for the stew so I had the seafood okra and egusi with beef. Both stews were full of flavor, and something about the okra texture and the pounded yam mixed really well together! If you've been wanting to try this particular dish, this place is a good place to go! Also really enjoyed the shrimp from the suya meat platter we got!

Michael N.

Yelp
Had my first try with African food last weekend with my bff, and Aria Suya did not disappoint! The server was very nice, and everyone was helpful and attentive. The restaurant had a good flow of people even when we went during off-peak hours. We ordered the Turkey Grizzard with Plaintain, and that was a big hit! The grizzard was tender and not chewy at all. The assorted meat tray was alright, there were some meats that were really good, like goat, ribs, and beef. The chicken was extremely dry though, like earing cardboard. So I would not recommend the chicken at all! Lastly, we had the tomato soup with cow skin and some other meat, that was good but a bit salty for my taste. Joloff rice was very tasty though! Overall, I would definitely come back. The ambiance was laid back, definitely helped to enjoy the food for the first time!

Domonique H.

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant! Not only is it beautiful in the inside. The ladies are so friendly and welcoming. I got the fried fish with spinach and Jollof rice and the suya wings. I did hurt myself eating it because it was so good I couldn't stop! I went over a week ago and I have been thinking about it since. I will definitely be going back and recommending to others. I already have!

Yelp
This place was incredible. For my first experience eating South African food, this was the one. Credit goes to my friend Chris for taking my sister and I here. We went in early, so it wasn't busy at all. It was a good time to go before the lunch rush. Our waitress was also very kind enough to make some recommendations of the appetizers and entrees we should try. The biggest thing for me was wanting to try some fufu. So I ordered some spinach with beef soup. To start, we also ordered the suya wings and meat pies. The meat pies were really good. It was minced meat with potatoes and it was pretty flavorful and well spiced. The suya wings were equally as good and you're just hit with a plethora of flavor in every bite. When our main courses came, I was so excited. I've seen how people eat it and I just went for it. They gave you a bowl of water to wash your hands (which was nice!) and I just grabbed up some of the fufu and scooped some of the soup (it was a thick consistency) and went to town eating it. And wow... I was blown away at how spiced the soup was. It was so good. The fufu was a perfect balance since it is plain meal and it just went great with every scoop of the soup. I devoured it. I had to order another fufu for my boyfriend to try when I got home because I really wanted him to experience how delicious it all was. The ambiance was also chill and relaxed, very clean. I definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a wonderful experience with trying South African food for the first time. I will be coming back!

Yelp
I came here with my sister and our friend as he wanted to introduce us to his culture and food! The atmosphere was very relaxing and I enjoyed the music they were playing in the background! It had me dancing in my sweet, but so did the food! Our waitress was very understanding and answered all of our questions about the food. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to be enjoying my sister and I raving about the food!! I loved the suya wings and I'm definitely going back there again and ordering it! The spice was perfect and the chicken was so juicy!! I loved my beef suya with the tomatoes and the red onion, it just made each bite so juicy! I couldn't stop eating even when I was full. I even ate my leftovers as we were driving back into our area!! I also really enjoyed the spice levels with the efo and having it with the fufu made it so smooth! I also found out that fufu is made from cassava and I already love cassava so we were really excited to eat it in this way! This is my first time and I can't give proper judge as I haven't tried other places before, but my the place was recommended by my friends older sister who really enjoyed the restaurant and so did we!! The drinks were so GOOD. I got a hibiscus juice that had tumeric in it and wow it was so refreshing! My sister got the malt drinks and that was just pure bliss too. Essentially, I loved this place and will bring friends to try and enjoy the richness of flavors!!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Giving this place 5 stars because a large group of us swarmed in midweek for lunch and I'm pretty sure they were not quite staffed for the numbers, but our food still came out in overall decent time and everything tasted delicious. In terms of service, our waitress was doing her best, no complaints. The decor is interesting. Clean and modern, a bit more lounge-ish. I really did enjoy the food.

Yelp
Aria Suya restaurant is known for its delicious suya, a popular West African street food made with spicy grilled meat. Customers often praise its flavorful dishes and cozy ambiance. It's a great spot to experience Nigerian cuisine in a welcoming setting. If you get a chance to try it, let me know your thoughts! The staff was very welcoming ; It takes a while to get your food but I guarantee you it's worth the wait ! Try POMO if you like spice , it's peppered cow

Naomi J.

Yelp
If you are looking for some great west Africa/Nigerian food and a great vibe, this is the perfect place to go. Service was great and everything I ordered was flavorful and delicious

Morgan F.

Yelp
So delicious! We got the beef patties, and beef suya and goat suya with jollof and plantains. Everything was so tasty. It was my first time having authentic suya and I just loved the flavor. The jollof was the better Nigerian jollof I've had. Would definitely come back and want to come back later in the evening when it's livelier as well

Bryan E.

Yelp
Aria suya kitchen was the taste of home I didn't know I needed. Being African I have a strong desire to not pay for African food due to over consumption of the cuisine growing up. Lord knows I made an exception for those suya wings and ribs! Never seen anything like that before, it's safe to say you've made a fan out of me. The service was a little slow for my liking but they know what they are doing distracting your bele with Asake and Oxlade, it worked sha I no go lie you! I'll be back to try out more items on the menu, safe to say you made this Nigerian a believer.

Chi A.

Yelp
This is by far the best Nigerian restaurant I may have ever been too. We got here around 7:30pm on a Tuesday evening, and although they closed at 8pm, we got seated with no issues. Our waitress brought over the menus and it was simple and creative. I got the grilled fish, and it came with plantain and spinach. We also got the shrimp skewers to share, which were really tasty. The food did take a little while to come out but it was worth the wait. Overall, the staff was polite, the restaurant was clean and didn't smell like food and the food was great. Now, my drink, the sneaky link, was straight up sugar but, everything else was so great that I didn't mind.

Vaughn O.

Yelp
The wife and I have visited Aria twice. This last time she had Chicken Breast Suya w/jollof rice. I had Fried Snapper w/Yam Fries, and the boy went with suya wings. The wife loved her suya and the boy's wings, but said the jollof was not spicy like the usual Nigerian jollof. My snapper was delicious, but just know that they slather on some spicy sauce which I wasn't expecting. It was delicious but I'm avoiding spicy foods due to gastro issues. (not a negative on Aria.) The yam fries were bland and tasteless so I'd avoid those next time. Overall good experience!

Ashley H.

Yelp
This one is hard because my experience was so different from my friend's. Let's start with the easy stuff. We called ahead of time to make sure the items we wanted were available since Nigerian restaurants tend to run out of things. I wanted fish pepper soup so we confirmed over the phone that they had it and the goat for my friend. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall of sorts, and it's pretty easy to find. I wasn't a fan of the black and white decor, but it was neat and gave elegant vibes. When we walked in, we were told that we could sit anywhere, so we did. After receiving our menus, I ordered the fish pepper soup, yam fries and the shrimp skewers with a side of plantain. My friend ordered the goat plate and suya wings. Shortly after we ordered, we noticed that a couple next to us who was seated after us received plantain chips. We looked on Yelp and noticed comments that the plantain chips were complimentary, so we waited but they never came. We finally asked someone else who was not our waiter and she brought them. They were good but the sauce they were served with was literally just seasoned oil. The couple to the right of us and the couple to the left of us (both seated after us) received their food before we did...it made no sense. We were confused but decided to just be patient. My friend's wings came, but they were massive. They looked like GMO wings pumped with hormones. She was scared to eat them but took a bite. Unfortunately, it wasn't fully cooked inside. She was so disgusted. She decided to try a different one to see if it was cooked, but she didn't like it and could no longer eat it. So she sent it back. My yam fries came with the same seasoned oil as the plantain chips. But the lady who brought them said the sauce looked watery, so she went and got what I guess was the actual sauce. That sauce made more sense and was good. The yam fries were a success once the sauce was replaced. My friend's goat was delivered, and the flavor was on point. But there was so much fat on the goat that it disrupted her ability to eat it. She had to keep stopping to pick around the fat. Before she brought my shrimp, the waiter came to our table and said they ran out of catfish pepper soup...I'm sure you can imagine my face. That was literally all I was craving. I was so annoyed but...what can you do? My shrimp dish was pretty good. Their jollof rice was good, and the shrimp was well seasoned. I also liked the plantains and the raw purple onions. And the portions were great. Would I come back here? No. When we got to the hotel, my friend started feeling sick. We thought maybe it was just that she needed to poop. But after that, it got worse. Then she started violently throwing up all of her food. We have no idea what made her sick, but it was probably that undercooked chicken.

Isaac H.

Yelp
The ambience is gorgeous with the fancy chairs and art all around the restaurant. They only had two waiters so the service was a little slow but they were very nice and courteous. We ordered the fufu which came with a spicy soup and the meat platter. We didn't like the soup that came with the fufu because of the "fishy" taste but the meats were good. The meat platter came with beef ribs, goat, lamb, chicken and shrimp; it was very tasty.

Kingsley N.

Yelp
Aria Suya Kitchen was definitely a vibe !! I used to come here all the time, and took a break from it. But just recently came back at this place was eye dropping. There are two sides one side being a lounge side with hookah, and the other side is a restaurant. I ordered the suya wings, and rice and stew with goat meat. The food came out promptly hot and steamy !!! The food was very good! The establishment was very clean and well decorated with music in the background. The music wasn't to loud, and if it wasn't your thing you could always go to the other side for a more quieter vibe. I would definitely suggest this place as a nice place to eat at , either alone, with friends or a large group you will definitely enjoy !!

Nena K.

Yelp
Amazing food! I strongly recommend this spot if you're craving Nigerian food. A date brought me here and I was blown away by the food taste and quality. Everything was delicious, including the drinks and hookah. So good I took more to go. Everything extremely tasty.

Omotoke O.

Yelp
I LOVE ARIA SUYA KITCHEN ‍ Ok but why didn't anyone tell me they had Don Julio Chapman on the menu. I didn't taste no liquor and it was frozen too? Sheesh. Straight 10/10. All hits no misses! The plantains were yummy 9/10 Best suya wings hands down. Who knew bbq sauce went with suya ??! 10/10 The jollof rice was okay but everything was knocking it out the park so I wasn't mad. 6/10

Andrew K.

Yelp
This restaurant was fire full stop. Nigerian is no longer an unknown culinary treasure! I came with my Nigerian friend because I'm an adventurous eater, I love jollof rice, and I'd never been to a Nigerian restaurant or had suya. He said the last two needed to be amended immediately. The first thing I noticed was the decor and ambiance. The restaurant doubles as a lounge so it's very beautiful and has a cool vibe. Then When I saw that I was the only white person, I knew I was in for a treat. In my experience that is always a great sign for any ethnic dining experience. The service was lovely. Cindy took care of us and answered my questions and offered suggestions. When I asked for stew or hot sauce, she gave me a surprised look which made me lol but she brought it with a word of warning. I love spicy food so I crushed it and the Suya which I think got me some respect but even if it didn't, always ask for what you like politely. The worst they say is no or we can't. I added a lot of extra Suya spice and it was chefs kiss. I tried the goat usun? That my friend ordered and it was even better. Tender and spicy. Plenty of flavor. I also had the Chapman which I never heard of before and would be the perfect mixer. Unfortunately I'm trying dry February.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Very good Nigerian food. The Egusi soup with goat is delicious. The wings are great. Tried Efo with seafood for the 1st time on my last visit and loved it.

Nena O.

Yelp
Food is always amazing! Our waiter Cindy was the sweetest and was so attentive to our every need!

Thuyen N.

Yelp
The place is nice, clean, and feels modern. Service was good, too. We had fufu (mixed egusi and spinach) with beef, suya meats sampler with jollof rice, and wings. Wonderfully flavorful. Loved it all. Highly recommend the wings, spinach fufu, and the beef suya meat. Really glad I found this place. Would come back.

Dorothy N.

Yelp
I've been craving Fufu and Egusi!! Finally able to try some really good Nigerian food. :) I got assorted meat it was beef/tripe/cow skin. Very flavorful. Plantain chips w the sauce were amazing. The sauce had a great spice!!! My fiancé got the ASUN (I believe it was marinated and mixed in with spices & it was goat) I would say we were definitely full. The portions are huge lol so you pay for what you get. The only thing I would say is that these dishes are SPICY! We both have high tolerance for spice so it was not bad to us at all. Would not recommend for people who cannot handle spice. I'd come back again foshoz

Cheryl J.

Yelp
My family has decided that we would celebrate being thankful with a new menu. We found a Nigerian/African restaurant and decided to try it out. The menu is full of choices. We tried the lamb chops and ram topped with shrimp. Both were served with jollof rice, sweet plantains, and a small salad. We drank a Bailey,s martini and a Zobo (delicious!). The service was attentive and expeditiously. Also, friendly and informative. The restaurant was beautifully appointed.

Sherika F.

Yelp
I placed an order through the Uber app. Pretty simple and easy. I am no stranger to Nigerian food. So of course I was happy to try Aria Suya Kitchen. I ordered the Egusi with goat and fufu. My meal was okay, the Egusi was a bit watery for my liking. I wasn't a fan of the fufu. They do have other options in the menu, so i plan on returning but trying something different.

Caleb B.

Yelp
yummy food. The atmosphere is electric and suya wings are to die for. I loved the meat platter and all of the food introduced a plethora of flavor that continued to circumbobulate my mouth even after I finished eating. Was an wonderful experience.

Chi O.

Yelp
The wait is annoying but the food is decent, first time having the yam fries pretty good wish it was hot and crispier the suya is hot this time it was too hot for me, depends I guess, just proceed with caution

Kehmia T.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place for a while now and came with friend for a Sunday meal. COVID -19 : I do love the fact that they're one of the few places I've been to that use a QR code to access their menu. I wish more places utilized QR codes. Service: The service was average. We did go back and forth between waitresses because they did get busy helping other tables. They did get confused at one point with our orders but can't really blame them.. they tried. Drinks: I had a spiked Malta (with rum) and my friend had a sunrise something (can't remember). Strong but good. Not much to say there. Food: we both shared the beef suya and each ordered the ram surf and turf. I wasn't impressed with the food. Definitely could've used some bit more seasoning and less spice. The ram was extremely chewy and reminded of goat meat (first time ever having ram so I really don't know what to expect), the shrimp was slightly over cooked. The only decent food was the suya and the dodo (fried plantain) and that's saying a lot. I will say their portions are huge and I definitely did have left overs. Overall... it was okay but don't think I'll be back.

Tyiekia A.

Yelp
I ordered online to pick up.. Efo riro with catfish & a side of plantain. I did enjoy the flavor of the soup better than the last Nigerian restaurant I went to.. however... it wasn't cooked thoroughly and it came with bones (which should be noted at least). The way they cook the entire fish section whole, I'm sure this has happened before. I won't order the fish again

Dominika S.

Yelp
I enjoyed the service and the interior. The sample plate was great meat was done in a perfect spicy but not over the top way. One think I'm missing I. There is viande a desert option . Shrimp were absolutely fantastic.

Nita J.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Great customer service. I love how there is a restaurant on one side and a bar/hookah lounge on the other side. Highly recommend.

Parkwood D.

Yelp
The food was Fabulous! I have the vegetable soup and it was fiya!!! So tender and well seasoned. The pounded yam was so soft you could almost drink it. My husband had the egusi soup and he totally enjoyed it. He said it made him feel like he was home....... That's what I'm talking about. They can COOK IN THERE! I even tipped the cook.... That's how good this food was. I've tried a few African restaurants in the Houston area, an none has even came close. It's usually to spicy or oily to truly enjoy. Neither of those issues presented itself today. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you again Aria

Danielle B.

Yelp
This was my introduction to Nigerian cuisine and I was not disappointed. Firstly, the atmosphere and the decor was very nicely done. The staff was friendly and attentive. The first dish that was recommended to me was some Suya Beef--the flavor was so savory and the spic was kicking but I was able to adjust. Next I had the pounded yam with soup. The waitress let me sample the dish first to decide which one I preferred. I landed on doing half and half. My first bite really surprised me--it was sooooooo good. I've always like okra and the dish really felt like comfort food. Overall the experience was nice and I look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday here this year to do a dinner with a twist. I've been wanting to try this place for some time so having my friends and family try it out with me was a win. I ordered the jollof rice plate with chicken and it was really good. For the price you get A LOT on your plate and your money's worth. My friend who loves lamb chops got the lamb chop dish and said this is her new "lamb chop spot". I was worried my non Nigerian friends wouldn't be willing to try cultural food but they did and they all enjoyed it! After dinner we walked over to the lounge area for more drinks and music from the dj. Overall I really enjoyed my birthday this year with my friends and family. Raheem the owner was very helpful in coordinating it for me and making sure the staff was prepared for my party. No question about it, definitely coming back.

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Had a taste for African food. This was one of the worse African restaurants I've been to. Staff wasn't really friendly. Food wasn't good.

Kellyann M.

Yelp
I did not know what to expect to be honest. My husband wanted goat suya . He loved it! And also liked the service and the restaurant's interior. (We did Pick up) After his good reviews we went back and I tried the grilled fish plate. It was indeed amazing, fresh and a good amount of food!! I wish we tried here earlier but it's definitely being added to our " go -too"spots!! Note: If you're afraid of spice, don't be. Every spice blended well and the food is not overwhelming hot. Parking Parking is either a disaster or super easy depending on the time and day you go. Good luck.

Yelp
Had the suya wings and they were amazing. I also had the jellof with baked chicken, plantains & spinach. Didn't like the baked chicken have had better, the spinach was mediocre and you can never go wrong with plantains but the jellof was average. The highlight of my meal was the suya wings. I will definitely try them again because the ambiance and setting was by far the best I've seen from a Nigerian restaurant in Houston and they had a decent selection of other meals.

Yelp
So, I came to this restaurant with my brother. We were invited to sit indoors. There is a lounge next door which also is owned by the restaurant. We ordered Suya beef/aka beef sticks $10 dollars. It was good it had veggies on the stick as well. We also ordered the Suya tilapia plate, it came with plantains, spinach, and tilapia seasoned with Suya. It was pretty good I give it a 8.5/10. My brother got okra soup with beef and seafood 6/10. He also ordered Jollof and stew on the side. Jollof 6/10 and 5/10. And I ordered designer stew. I haven't tried it yet. The service was prompt, the server was attentive. Our waters were refilled consistently. That bathrooms were clean and so was the rest of the restaurant.

Yelp
Aria would be so great if they weren't always out of things on their menu. I've been a couple of times but the last few times I wasn't happy with the fact that they were out of 60% of their menu. Fortunately my dad was able to find something he liked when I took him there for the first time a few weeks ago. The place is definitely popular and really gets crowded on the weekends so go during the weekday in the afternoon. However, they don't open on Mondays. When I go there I usually order a variety of things but my favorite would have to be the shrimp and crawfish plate with Efo instead of Jollof rice. The suya wings are good. The chicken suya meat option is really good. My dad liked their catfish pepper soup as well. I always wash everything down with a Chapman or a Zobo with rum if I'm up to it! Of course you know the parking in the Aria plaza can be a big headache but I found out that they have parking in the back of the plaza now!

Yelp
As much as I have checked in and referred this place to those out of town, how on earth did I miss raving about the entire menu, staff and owner! This has to be one of my top secret security places! I'm violating all my norms to speak on this gem! If you're looking for authentic food! First follow me! I'm your girl! Second the entire menu along with the cooks in the kitchen are culinary flavored genius! You can catch the owner there most days and the Remy Zobo, spicy jollof, fresh fish, SUYA wings and ASUN along with garnished tomato and onions are my favs! Yes, I get those each time I come! I said, "ITS THAT GOOD"

Yelp
Had the suya sampler with chicken, beef, and shrimp with the plantains as the side. All very, very good - well cooked, seasoned, with the perfect spice and depth of flavor. Plantains were cooked perfectly. Brother-in-law had the Asian plate (spicy goat), also very good but very spicy - still delicious. Mother-in-law had the lamb chops, also very good and well cooked. Cindy was our server - she made very good drink recommendations and helped us out with some questions about the food. Ambiance was nice, clean space, black couches were a little much and a little old, but not shabby.

Yelp
I finally made it to Aria Suya Kitchen! I've been seeing this spot all over social media for a long time now. I came here with about 15 people for a graduation dinner. They were able to accommodate our reservation, but their large seats against the wall made moving around a little difficult for the guests on that side. There is a private parking lot, but it's kinda small as they share it with a few other businesses. The interior is nice. A lot more aesthetically pleasing than most traditional Nigerian restaurants. It was still Houston Restaurant Week, and they had a special menu for the occasion. Three course meal for $25. Pretty good deal considering how much food you get. I got the suya wings as my appetizer. I loved the seasoning on them. Flavorful with a decent amount of heat. Followed that up with jollof rice with beef, spinach, and plantain. That was also delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the spinach. My rice was good and not burnt at all. Which can easily happen when making jollof rice. As for drinks, I got the Henny Zobo and a shot of Patrón. Zobo was decent but just tasted like Henny and coke. It didn't have the traditional hibiscus taste of Zobo. I never received my dessert. I was supposed to get ice cream, but they never brought it over. I eventually forgot about it myself. Only remembered it again after I left the restaurant. The staff was nice, but they didn't take all of our orders in a timely manner. There were several people left without food while some of the others were finishing up their meals. Other than that, it was a good experience, and I'll be back again to try more of the menu.

Yelp
The meat pie and beef suya is good needs more char on it but it's the service that needs to be better! We constantly had to ask for our waitress! This isn't my first time going but same issue has been the service we received.

Yelp
Delicious! But most importantly, great service and great vibe. We started with plantain chips and stew, yummy yummy, the waiter was so attentive and kept bringing more when we ran low. Very sweet of him. I had the rice, stew and plantain and spinach. The stew on the rice didn't do it for me. With the plantain chips it was perfect, but I was expecting more of a *bang* and it was just there. I let my waiter know and he subbed me for the jollof which was a winner! The manager came out and asked me about how I felt about the stew, he was very understanding and accommodating, he even brought out more stew in case I just didn't have enough to make sound judgement... errr I held to my guns. But very great service and made me feel like my opinion mattered whether good or bad. My husband had jollof and goat meat. No need to elaborate. He cleaned his plate. He looked satisfied. He was unbothered with my situation lol. For an appetizer before I forget, we indulged in the catfish pepper soup. I'm mostly Vegetarian but I will taste fish once in a while. Wow! Good, and spicy. Did not disappoint. I had tears of satisfaction and spice running down my cheeks. It was a pleasant sadistic experience that most Nigerian partake in regularly. Although I wasn't a fan of the stew and white rice, everything was a complete hit. The decor, cleanliness and attentive staff. The food was wonderful, and it's hard to impress me with food that myself and my mother can replicate and perfect, but feels good to put the apron down and treat myself. There is no fufu and soup on this menu my kinfolk, if you're looking to get your hands dirty, look elsewhere. I was a bit disappointed with this finding but I got over it quickly. I'll be back!

Yelp
We ordered a fried fish plate and a grilled fish plate, both with jollof rice and plantain. They taste really good. Portion was big and we had to get a box. Didn't take pictures. The price was so worth it for two whole tilapia fishes. Although I wanted to order designer stew first but was out. Then ordered lamb also out. Might want to call and confirm availability in advance.

Yelp
Visiting Houston for a family function. Hubby is Nigerian and wanted Suya and this spot was recommended by a family member who lives in the area. Beautiful vibe and interior. Very trendy! Nice music playing and we were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and told we could sit anywhere. Complimentary plantain chips with a warm tomato stew for dipping was served while we looked at the menu. It was so tasty I almost asked if we could have more. We also had a sample of Chapman which was a really tasty fruit punch that is very popular in Nigeria according to my husband! I was sold on it and ordered to have with my lunch. It was sweet but good over ice and non-alcoholic but I'm pretty sure they have a martini they make using it also. I had the chicken Suya and hubby and the beef Suya. Both came with Jollof rice. We ordered a side of sweet plantain as well. The food was outstanding. Meat was tender and had just the right amount of spice. The rice was perfect as well. My husband had the palm wine mojito which he said was refreshing. Service was great. The young lady server was so sweet and pleasant. Our water glasses were refilled several times without even having to ask. We're only in town for another day but hopefully we can stop here again before we head out! It's a great spot to try authentic Nigerian food.
