Food trailer whipping up vegan tacos & hefty burgers, plus traditional sides like fries.
"If you’ve ever found yourself wandering around just north of the UT Campus late at night looking for open food trailers, there’s a good chance you’ll end up at Arlo’s, an entirely vegan operation selling burgers, tacos, and chik’n sandwiches. These aren’t our favorite vegan burgers in town, but they’ll get the job done—particularly when it’s late and you just need sustenance. While other spots in Austin often use Impossible patties, Arlo’s makes its own from a mix of lentils, millet, carrots, mushrooms, onions, herbs, and spices. The “bac’n” on the Bac’n Cheez Burger has arrived a little too crispy on recent visits, but a generous amount of cheese, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce helps offset it enough to make for a pretty tasty meal either way. photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel" - Nicolai McCrary
"Vegan food truck Arlo’s has taken over the cafe’s food operations through two trucks on site at 2908 Fruth Street. Arlo’s is known for vegan burgers, particularly the Bac’n Cheeze Burger, made with a soy- and gluten-free patty, seitan bac’n, and melted cheeze. This is the fourth Arlo’s truck in Austin (in addition to the one at Cheer Up Charlie’s and The Grackle, as well as one already at Spider House)." - Erin Russell
"Comedian Rhea Butcher, of television show Take My Wife, said that Arlo’s barbecue burger is the 'best vegan sandwich I’ve ever had in all my 35 years of vegan sandwiches.'" - Nadia Chaudhury
