"For years, we’ve known Armin & Judy as that place on 27 right before Bridgehampton, with a sign that says “I Baguette You.” We don't know what that means, but after trying this spot, we’re all in on them and their bread offerings. The focaccia-y pizza is a standout, but the menu full of salads, vegetables, and other entrees is worth a try as well. It’s also very large, and a good last-minute option if you’re with a group." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

#DCGourmet Armin and Judy is an iconic piece of the Hamptons food scene. Have eaten here more than once over the years, and did again 2 days ago. It’s a relaxed place to visit with simple decoration, nice bar, and it attempts to emulate the simple French bistro menu. Behind the restaurant is a bakery, offering various breads including baguette and olive boule, viennoiseries (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc), and sundry specialty items such as olive from unassuming places, such as Albania. There is a lovely outdoor seating area surrounded by beautiful nature, mainly trees and a pond. A chicken coop of beautiful hens resembling Rhoda Island Reds and a separate coop for what appear to be Chinese cockerels, is nearby, and nice for children to see. The pastries miss the mark for me, but worth a try for others. I prefer my Viennese items butterier, flakier and less chewy. On the main menu is an AWESOME tuna and olive salad, containing giant beans, capers, sun dried tomatoes and the perfect taste of Mediterranean goodness for a summer day (or any day!) Keep in mind the Hamptons is not a cheap place to eat, but I’d say the value at Armin and Judy is slightly under par for portions to pricing. I ordered quiche, which came with a side salad, for over $20. I was expecting “a quiche.” What I got was a slice of quiche… Go check it out. It’s definitely a good place, sure to provide something to everyone in your party’s fancy.

Google
Armin and Judy’s IMHO has the best-tasting Rugelach in NY. They also sell pastry that I do not see in other bakeries, like the Swedish Bun and the buttermilk cookie with peach bits. I have never had to wait long on line to order anything in the two years that I have been coming here. The line moves that fast!

My girlfriend and I went for the 4th of July and we loved every detail of the restaurant. Everyone in the staff was so friendly including our server Turan. I recommend everything from Their happy hour to their dinner service menu. Truly a gem

Google
Best eggs benedict I’ve ever had! This place is a hidden gem. Never been to dinner here, but the breakfast is always quiet and not busy at all. Service is fast and friendly. Authentic French bakery items and coffee. The espresso here will please coffee enthusiasts, and I’m partial to grabbing at least one bakery item every time I come as well.

Every dietary request was assured then completely ignored. Waited over 25 minutes for someone to come to our table. Another 45 minutes for dessert and once set down came with no spoons. Waiter acknowledge this and continued with other tables. In general the staff was poorly trained and completely not supervised. Really a very tortuous 2 hour prix fix disaster.

Just had dinner @ A&J last night, they have an excellent pre fixe menu quality of food is great , staff is very pleasing and professional I recommend this place to everyone including their fantastic bakery

Google
A favorite place in the Hamptons! The blueberry muffins are divine and the cheese cake absolutely out of this world. The lemon tart also very tempting. The food is fresh and very tasty, as if it was made at home. The restaurant has a very pleasant ambience with an outdoor space, a nearby pond, chickens and beehives. The shop behind it sells all kinds of freshly made goodies in the kitchen. You will have a hard time deciding what to choose, as everything looks and smells so good. This is my third time visiting the restaurant. Can't wait to return again. Meanwhile munching on what we bought at the store, a nice way to prolong the pleasure. Five stars!

Yelp
Have been here multiple times and have had great service and food every time. The menu changes depending on what produce is in season and what they are growing. Recently I tried the bean salad and mushroom pasta with a side of mushrooms to share. The bean salad was great and had a lot of beans for the size of the salad. The mushroom pasta had a great cheese on it and I appreciated it was not tomato based. For dessert they gave us a couple choices from the bakery. We tried the cheesecake and blueberry pistachio tart. They were both amazing and the blueberry pistachio was particularly a welcome surprise.

Yelp
We stopped in this quaint White House right of Montauk Hwy. There was a bakery in the rear of the parking lot. We opted for the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Ordered our food We had a spinach, mushroom ,feta omelette ( delicious!) French toast on brioche, thick savory. Ordered the rye seeded with butter and their homemade preserves, tasty! It's a great stop. The food and service was consistent and flawless. Everyone very friendly

Groove K.

Yelp
This is my new favorite spot in the Hamptons! Food is insanely fresh. Hands down the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I also came back for breakfast and loved the omelette, pastries, and coffee. The is also a bakery in the back with the most insane selection.

M C.

Yelp
Pathetic service from both the restaurant and bakery. Unfriendly, inattentive staff.

Gail B.

Yelp
Every time I come here, there is a new dessert that they put out on the counter. Today it was the tiramisu, creatively designed and velvety smooth. The service here is top notch. Everybody knows my name even though I usually make the drive out here only once a month. Keep doing what you are doing, Armin and Judy. Your bakery is my favorite French bakery in the Hamptons. Warning: They tack on a 10% service charge for all take out orders.

Mark S.

Yelp
We went for breakfast recently and the food was delicious! The service- not so much! Very sloppy from start to finish.

Tracy K.

Yelp
No, no, no and no. Driving back from Pierre's I notice what appears to be what looked like possibly French bakery inside a restaurant... Beckoned in by a "bakery inside" sign outside of a Montauk Highway based French eatery restaurant... slowed down to give it a try... There were sit down tables. Also a counter similar to a diner with a long row of bakery items on it ranging from croissants to baguettes. Got two croissants and a baguette to go. 1) The chocolate/ almond croissant had no chocolate or almond inside. Not a little. None. Had to bring it back in. 2) the baguette was so dense and chewy it was almost impossible to break a piece off while in the car. 3) The Hampton prices I happily accept. But the posted prices were all false. They added 20 percent on without telling me. So I had to question $4 in tax on my two croissants and one baguette. Only to be told its been added since the pandemic. Ok..... I'm not going to tell anyone how to manage their shop... but its the law to not post one thing and charge another.. One question ... . why not just say chocolate almond croissant $8.40? I get its weird out here in the winter.. Just put the actual prices on the little write on signs. A customer willing to pay you $7 for a croissant should be appreciated. Not charged $8.40. Mello the server was cool and helpful. Was completely aware of customers reaction after pointing out math not adding up. So no. Not for the price. Not for the likely one time mistake by a chef forgetting the ingredients. But for not being forthright and stressing out your staff.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! The beet salad and scallop entree were really wonderful. The service was on point, and I truly enjoyed my dining experience.

Aryn Q.

Yelp
I gave this place two chances based on reviews and am left perplexed. The food is ok. The attitude is not. And the prices would perhaps be fine if the quality matched. If you can't afford to serve exquisite food with decent portions, nor a gracious attitude, WHY ARE YOU IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS? I happily have moved on from wondering what gives and dine elsewhere.

Elyka A.

Yelp
My husband and I came here with some friends and were able to enjoy the patio. I'd suggest sitting on the side of the trees closer to the restaurant so you don't feel as if you're right on Montauk highway. The service was good and the food was also nice. My friend is obsessed with the burger here so I ordered that to share with him along with one of their pizzas. The burger was good, but I wouldn't say it was worth the praise that it was given. It's one of those burgers that adds thousand island/French type dressing to it, so it's going to taste good. The pizza on the other hand was phenomenal - one of the best that I've had (if you like deep dish style pizza you will love it). I'd definitely come back, it's a convenient location and the prices are reasonable.

Terrence M.

Yelp
Wonderful, soft ambiance, friendly customer service, the beef was amazing, waiter was excellent, we got in late and they were completely understanding

Scott K.

Yelp
Eggs Benedict-eggs were nicely poached, and the hollandaise had good flavor, thin sliced ham (of good quality), a single slice of good wheat bread. That was it on the plate. No fruit, no potatoes, nothing...2 eggs, 1 slice of toast, 2 oz of hollandaise they charged $24. It's the Hamptons but come on. To drink I ordered a cranberry and seltzer; the check said Shirley Temple and it was $12. That is 2-3 oz. of cranberry juice and some seltzer, really? This is just not the way to do it. Cute place, food was of good quality, but I felt gouged by the pricing and won't be back.

Jason M.

Yelp
Attention: QR Code menu only The food is god but the portion sizes are small. Great place if you can't find a reservation elsewhere

Louis M.

Yelp
Two welcoming, comfortable and lovely designed, proper sized dining rooms!. Great wine list and selection of bartender inventions. Best oysters found in only a very few places along with several other inventive and very tasty appetizers. Along with the normal Steak Frites, Salmon, and fried chicken (BEST I ever had), Chef Josephs Duck Breast, Short Ribs, Venison and special pasta dishes are unique to A@J ,and get you back over and over. BUT, the miracle of a different soup EVERY day and always a true ten is unique in my vast experiences. Portions are maybe a bit overwhelming, but you can't help stuffing and finishing. Prices are moderate and mid Hamptons generally, but worth every penny.

Mark C.

Yelp
Wow was this a disappointment. For overpriced and overrated Hamptons food, look no further! Food and wine were mediocre at best. $28 hummus and $25 Chablis . . . I'll stay at home next time. Service was very slow despite the empty dining room. Ambiance was cute and I appreciated the white lilies in the dining room. Overall, a pass.

Margaret F.

Yelp
Excellent! Servers couldn't be nicer or more efficient. Food couldn't be better! I had the special which was fluke. Incredible! My husband had a very nice roast chicken. & we both had the best cappuccinos so far in the Hamptons. Prices comparable to everywhere else this time of year. Will definitely be back.

Alaia M.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Armin & Judy. The place is very cozy and homey, they're open all year round, my favorite time is during the summer. The service is good, attentive and sweet. The food is really great, I recommend their oysters! Everything's so fresh and tasty. Their baked goods in the morning are delightful as well. The menus are short & but have a good selection to choose from, the drinks are yum too. Definitely stop in! Enjoy!

Wendy K.

Yelp
If the Fish stinks, it stinks from the head down. This place is the perfect example of that saying. Place is overpriced and the staff is nasty just like the Owner Judy. Don't waste your time or money here. Nick & Tonis is much better! Trained at this establishment and still have yet to be paid for my time. Waste of my time.

C T.

Yelp
Every year, we spend a couple of weeks in the Hamptons and eat out at a couple of new places. This year, we tried Armin & Judy because my sister could not stop raving about their pizza. The crust is very airy - almost like a toasted ciabatta. The East End Farmer was so good - not what I expected and definitely, not a pizza that I would have ordered but I loved it. Pepperoni was a bit disappointing. For the appetizers, the soft shell crab was good, but the escargot on toast were horrible. It was so bland that none of us really wanted to finish it despite a few of us loving escargot. Same for the entrees - the spaghetti cacio and the fried chicken were excellent but the most expensive entree, ribeye with au poivre sauce was so bland. It made me think that French food isn't their forte. Wouldn't it be ironic if their chef was French?! Ambiance is lovely - in a cottage environment so you feel like you are dining at home. As with all things in the Hamptons, pricing was high for what you were served. We opted to skip dessert because of their hit-and-miss entrees, but the dessert tray that the server brought out was very uninspiring. The cakes just looked so dry.

Duffknuckle M.

Yelp
$24 for a BEC. That should be enough to give anyone pause. Never got it. But feeling boujie on morning return from the east end decided to roll with it hoping service would be spot on and we would have the egg sandwich of a lifetime. Got shitty service and no sandwiches, just 2 gas station quality coffees for $12. Waited 45mins with empty coffee mugs in a nearly empty restaurant FOR EGGS! Waiters never came with refills of water or coffee. When i finally asked a waiter where our food was he looked annoyed and dismissively said "it's coming". No apology for the delay, no effort to pay us any attention afterwards, not even offering more $12 coffee! 15 mins later: Family who was there before us finally got their food and the dad said "how is it? Was it worth the wait?" How long were they there? Waiting for $24 egg sandwiches in an empty restaurant. That is when we gave up, walked up to the bar to pay for the coffee and leave. That guy also dismissive, unapologetic and utterly unconcerned about our satisfaction said "just wait a minute, it will be right out".

Maura G.

Yelp
Service was excellent food was superb! Made my birthday dinner very special. The best restaurant in the Hamptons!

Allen F.

Yelp
I love everything here. Service superior. Very friendly staff. Delicious bread and Eggs Benedict. Multiple cups of perfect coffee. Also outdoor dining.

Abby O.

Yelp
baguette -- tough salmon -- RAW the only good thing about this "restaurant" was the butter that came with the (not free) bread basket. I wish I had ordered alcohol so I could at least feel full.

Michael A.

Yelp
Great new spot ! The Raw bar was excellent especially the caviar sandwich. The bread is baked so warm and fresh! Then to top it off the liquor and desserts are uniquely delicious ! Loved the cheese cake! Awesome location and a beautiful setting ! The staff and owners were very friendly. Looking forward to some great meals here !

Romina R.

Yelp
Very good bakery with wide selection of baguettes, sweets, sandwiches and quiche. All the items we got were good and fresh. The prices are a bit high

Crittendon N.

Yelp
I just had one of the most amazing dinning experiences. The food is next level and this cozy place has a personal touch that restaurants forget that matters. I highly recommend this gem. Judy is warm and kind .Bilal is a rockstar server . I will happily drive from Montauk to experience this magic again.

Warren R.

Yelp
So so fare. Great bread. And pastries. Nice space. Don't criticize the food. That's it

Carolyn K.

Yelp
Hearing good things about this restaurant, we went last night. Pleasant, bright space. Dark wood floors and white interior. Attentive waiter who explained items on the menu. We had fried green tomatoes with burrata and the warm mushroom salad to start. They were both excellent. For main courses we had the fried chicken and the Cacio e Pepe. While the fried chicken was good, it definitely is not Southern fried chicken. It was two small breast halves deboned. Good, but just different. The pasta was a good- sized portion and well prepared. The waiter brought out the dessert tray, which looked good, but we opted simply for cappuccino as our dessert. All in all, I do recommend Armin&Judy and will return.

Cheers T.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, they play French music. The pizza is exceptional, pretty much all bread products are excellent. It's a French bakery after all. The burger is above average. They do fries very well. The portions are on the smaller side. It's reasonably priced compared to other local eateries. Pro tip: they allow dogs

Giovanni R.

Yelp
On a recent visit to Montauk, we stopped to eat at one of our "go to places".  We have eaten there several times in the past and were satisfied. Last summer was exceptional. The offerings were on point. We especially liked of all things the burger, which to our surprise is no longer on the menu. When we asked for a substitute, we were rudely told "NO substitutes".  Furthermore, we were confused by some of the offerings on the menu, giving the season.  For dessert we ordered the torch cake which was nothing special.  For a restaurant who claims to be seasonal with farm to table ingredients, it sure did disappoint, in addition to lacking consistency!

Ken D.

Yelp
Great bakery / cafe. I tried the blueberry muffin, chocolate croissant, and double chocolate sea salt cookie. They were all pretty good. Blueberry muffin was soft and not too sweet, which I appreciated. I do prefer muffins that are more moist though. Chocolate croissant was also not too sweet but it didn't feel buttery or flaky enough for me. It was ok though, hard to go wrong with a chocolate croissant, especially if it goes easy on the sugar. The sea salt chocolate cookie tasted like a brownie cookie. Not crazy moist like a fudgy brownie but the chocolate was rich and more moist than an average cookie. I stopped by during their evening hours when they have sit down dining. It felt like a nice casual vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Julia W.

Yelp
Discrimination against families! Insanely rude ownership. We stopped in for lunch with 10 month old. Upon asking if there was somewhere I could change her diaper I was directed to the dirty floor of the bathroom. Upon exiting the Owner was waiting outside and was upset that I'd left the diaper in a trash can saying it was insensitive and then proceeded to berate about giving a menu to a baby as other diners would need them. She must have sent her pick up the wine menu as we sat down. Only 2 other tables were seated in the entire space. Families are not welcome by neurotic ownership of people who disregard the basic needs of patrons with small children. Really wanted to love this place and make it our regular stop off on the way home but such a mean spirited and disappointing experience.

Yoshi W.

Yelp
Fantastic bread and pastry. Can't speak highly enough of their baking. They supply bread also to loaves and fishes don't miss their sourdough loaf.

D.L. S.

Yelp
I was happily surprised by the excellent food and service at this restaurant on Montauk Highway, right before the Bridgehampton shopping center. We ate on the deck outside, where the sight of cars on Montauk Highway was shielded by trees. (The sun room, which faces the back, was not being used due to a staff shortage, we were told.) My companion and I shared the Peasant Salad special (cucumbers, green peppers, feta cheese, small tomatoes and onion), which was perfectly dressed. The feta cheese was really good, not that salty crumbly kind you often get in salads. I had the pan roasted salmon for my main course. It was cooked perfectly and the accompanying caponata and Harissa jam gave it a very pleasing contrast of flavors and textures. My companion had the Fettucine with meatballs. The fettucine was fresh and cooked al dente, perfect. My companion thought the sauce was too rich, but really liked the meatballs. The service was very good and Judy was warm and welcoming. My only complaint is the the chairs for the outdoor dining are a little rickety and that the tables are a bit too close together. But overall, I have Armin & Judy on my list of restaurants to revisit next summer!

Toni M.

Yelp
On the way home from montauk, my family and I drove past this restaurant and decided to stop for something to eat. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess who asked if we had a reservation (we did not) despite the majority of the inside dining room being empty and with multiple outside tables open. She took my mothers phone number for some reason even though she sat us a minute later after looking at the empty tables. We sat outside which had a cute ambiance but the cars going by on the road can be kind of annoying. Not the end of the world though. However there were a lot of bugs. a spider kept crawling on my father and there were moths flying around. I ordered the super green salad and my family got two pizzas and a pasta. The pizza was good. The dough itself was amazing. I didn't try the pasta, but my dad said it was too buttery. There was a slight problem with my salad. It was supposed to come with avocado and didn't have any when it arrived. Apparently there was some sort of communication mix up and the waiter didn't know they ran out of avocado earlier that day. No problem. The manager was very accommodating and offered substitutes and said he would take it off the bill. The bathroom seemed pretty clean inside the restaurant. Inside they had some bread baskets. They should give people dining a basket of bread with their meal. It is a bakery after all. When it was time to go, it took a very long time to get a to-go box for the pizza and then another long wait for the check. They forgot to remove my salad from the bill, so that had to get fixed as well. While waiting I noticed that you could see inside the kitchen through the front window. One of the cooks wasn't wearing a mask for over half an hour. Not cool. I wasn't planning on leaving a review until I saw the no mask cook. Our waiter and the manager were nice and helpful, but overall the place is too expensive and not worth it.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
It takes a lot for me to take time out of my day to write a Yelp review. That's how bad our experience was at this restaurant. The owner was objectively the rudest person I have ever encountered in a restaurant in my life, and I lived in France for 3 years. The food is fine- extremely expensive, but on par with the top Hamptons restaurants. Happy to pay for a great experience, but when a big bill accompanies being treated like garbage that's a pass. We eat out most nights and I will take my business elsewhere...and I suggest you do too.

Sabrina L.

Yelp
This has to be the worst place to eat in the Hamptons. No wonder there is always availability here. Your jaw will drop to see how expensive mediocre food can cost especially when it's served up with rudeness. You couldn't pay to eat here.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Armin & Judy's fresh breads are amazing - and some of the best I have ever tasted. I have been there several times for their seeded sourdough bread and recommend ordering online the night before as they usually sell out by noon. The Pain au Lait mini-loafs (think brioche meets white bread in a mini-pullman loaf) and chocolate croissants are also must orders! I was lucky enough to meet Isabelle (the head baker) yesterday, who uses her french heritage to create a very special artisanal product. Isabelle has a great story of quitting the corporate life to make some of the best baked goods on long island. Be sure to say hello to Isabelle when you stop by as part of understanding what makes this bakery & restaurant so special. I've also tried the pizza for takeout which was equally excellent.

O F D.

Yelp
Great selection and love the team! Thank you for providing such delicious food and amazing service.

Sheila K.

Yelp
I don't often review. I also try to shop brick and mortar and not Amazon to help small businesses so it's hard to write a bad review about a small business for me. However Armin and Judy appears to struggle. I understand covid is v difficult and perhaps the owners are stuggling to keep the venue open but it's insane to price avocado toast the size of my fist for $20. They charged $40 for waffles even though the price was $20 on the menu. I don't mind being ripped off or a charitable donation but this just felt like being robbed. So sorry to the owners.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Food was decent server attentive my major complaint occurred when we arrived and was told that outdoor dining was not available even though it was advertised. When our party arrived, the restaurant was empty. During our meal more patrons were seated inside, and I decided to leave the restaurant. I have health related issues and felt very uncomfortable about dining indoors!

Rachel D.

Yelp
I went in this morning to pick up one of their delicious croissants and chocolate chip cookies. I have been coming here since they opened for the same kind of bakery treats, I always pay with my credit card. Apparently there is now a $25 cash minimum that they were not at all flexible about to a repeat customer even though the policy is new. Not to mention Im 9 months pregnant. My only option would have been to buy another $20 worth of stuff because I have no cash on me. I left with nothing and won't be returning which is unfortunate because their baked goods usually are good, although today looked a bit stale. There were also flies flying around and landing on the food on the counter.

Gabby G.

Yelp
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere. Judy is always so nice and welcoming, feels like you're dining at a good friends home (a chic one)

John K.

Yelp
The quality of the food is amazing. Some of the best baked goods in the Hamptons. My only minor complaint is that they run out of croissants pretty early

Donna K.

Yelp
Best restaurant in the Hamptons so far this summer. Judy was at the door to greet you. The restaurant was beautiful inside with friendly servers. Great choices for starters. A great neighborhood gem. They do have outside tables. Our pasta with mussels was delicious and pizza outstanding.

Cynthia D.

Yelp
I love love this new restaurant. I have been twice since Its new opening. But....a bit of critical advice....pay attention to your clients. Way too often we were in conversation and were interrupted. Better to hold back and wait or, better still, leave us in peace to enjoy our meal. We found this very annoying and unnecessary. Something I would expect from a less sophisticated restaurant.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Super impressed with Armin and Judy. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food, generous dinner portions. Judy comes to greet every guest and makes you feel like family! Everyone in our party enjoyed every dish we ordered. We also ordered a whole cheesecake in advance for our friends birthday. It was the best cheesecake we every tasted complete with fresh berries and a side treat of extra caramelized cherries! Judy gave us some of her delicious breads as a take home treat!! We rolled home with our full bellies happy knowing we found this new gem in the Hamptons! Well done Armin and Judy! Can't wait to try more of your bakery items, breakfast and lunch menus as well!!!

Devon Reed M.

Yelp
Best dining experience in the Hamptons! Rib eye was incredible as well as the ceviche.

Olivia M.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic meal. Amazing drinks, friendly and super attentive service, incredible and unique pizzas, and lovely desserts. This is what a restaurant should be!! Thank you so much for the lovely evening.
