"Aroma Café, the only Bosnian restaurant in Los Angeles, offers a homestyle taste of the Balkans with fresh bread, grilled sausages, and even burgers. The café is known for its vibrant atmosphere, delicious dishes from former Yugoslavian countries, and a sense of community for Southeastern Europeans. It has a loyal customer base and continues to operate in memory of its co-founder, Adem Slipac." - Olivia Leadbetter

Bosnian restaurant with homey vibes. Came here for dinner with a friend as we wanted to try something different, and I’ve had this place bookmarked. We split a plate of grilled veggies (the full size is good for two) and the combo plate. We opted for the mix of 10 cevapi, 1 beef patty, and 2 shish kebabs but you can also get 30 cevapi instead. The cevapi were these little rolls of beef and were absolutely delicious; those were my fave. We had a side of warm pita bread to accompany the meat, and it was a great hearty combo. For dessert, we split a tufahiya because it sounded cool. It’s essentially a peeled apple with a walnut paste inside and a light syrup outside of it. It’s not too sweet (the walnut paste was not seeet at all) and it was interesting to look it. The waitress was nice and there seemed to be a lot of locals that go here. There’s a small free parking lot in the front. Credit cards are accepted.

As Runner Up Miss Slovene National Benefit Society 2025 and secretary of the Slovene National Benefit Society of San Francisco, I hold Slovenian food near and dear to my heart. It is not every day that you can walk into a restaurant on the West Coast to find Slovenian food so I made it a point to make it to this restaurant on my trip to LA area! This place certainly did NOT disappoint and was wonderful. I got the ćevapi, which many Slovenians know as ČEVAPČIČI. This traditional dish is often quite difficult to get right as it is often easy to make too oily, but this was great! Excellent portion size, reasonable prices, friendly staff, clean. I will be recommending this place to other Slovenians visiting the area! odlično

Aroma Café is one of my favorite restaurants to visit. The place is very clean and tidy, there is always a place where you can sit and eat inside and outside. The food is amazing, love the food. I would go with Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Cevapi, and Sarma. :) The employees are very friendly/helpful. Hard workers they are since the place is always on schedule. :)

Google
The portion was incredibly small—honestly, I don’t even think you'd consider it a child’s meal. For $17, I expected more than just 2 ounces of meat and a very small scoop of rice. They only gave me one small skewer of ground beef, which is disappointing compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve been to over the years, where they usually serve at least two skewers. I would’ve been happy to pay a few extra bucks for a second skewer if it was an option. They really should offer it for those who want a fuller meal. The rice was dry and lacked flavor, and the meat was tough. Even though it was ground, the texture was off. The two stars are really for the salad—it was fresh and flavorful, the only part of the meal I’d consider going back for. Beyond that, though, it wasn’t worth it. I ended up finishing my dinner at Chick-fil-A, the only place open on New Year’s Eve. On top of that, the people outside smoking were basically acting like extras in a spy movie—staring at you when you walk in, walk out, or even sit in your car. It made the whole thing feel like a weird reality show I didn’t sign up for.

Google
One of the better Balkan restaurants! The cevapi were delicious and full of flavor, and the ajvar was phenomenal. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Google
Truly unique flavors and dishes. Loved every dish I've tried now every week, 6 times. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
This restaurant offers a delightful blend of Bosnian and Macedonian cuisine. The cured meats were sliced expertly and the kabobs were juicy, served with warm, fluffy bread. The red bell pepper spread added a burst of flavor. I enjoyed the tomato salad but wished for more cheese. The small store inside offers food items for purchase. The owners and servers are friendly and accommodating, adding a personal touch to the experience. If you crave authentic Bosnian and Macedonian flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit.

This place is amazing. Best balkan food you can eat in USA. Especially the chefs and the owner are amazing. Thank you Lalo, lorena and amra. You made this experience unforgettable :)

Yelp
Food was delicious, best balkan food in Los Angeles. I want to thank the owner Amra, server Tibet, and chefs Lalo & Lorena for making this experience amazing!

Yelp
Such a cute spot. I'm from Serbia so it reminds me of me of home. Plus there is some great groceries to purchase if you miss home

Yelp
Walking into Aroma Café, I felt that I was transported to a different country. I loved the comfortable and intimate feeling of their café. I sat indoors and loved the ambiance. There was a small amount of seating, a cashier stand where they sold other goods and took take-out orders, and a small market full of unique groceries tucked in the corner. My partner and I opted for the Dine LA lunch menu. I got the chicken soup of the day, which was full of handmade noodles, shredded chicken, and flavorful broth. We also got the beef burek, which was so unique and new to us. It was filled with beef and made of phyllo dough-- very tasty and I'd love to try their other flavors next time, as well. I believe it also came with fresh, handmade pita on the side--so good! We both loved the Sopska, which was a refreshing cold salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions with feta cheese on the side. It was dressed very well (we even overheard other patrons trying to find out the salad dressing recipe)! For the entrée, we got the Cevapi. This was our first time trying this and we fell in love. The Cevapi were so juicy and the sandwich itself was incredibly filling yet refreshing with the raw onions on the side. We had to pack most of our meals to go! We got to try the baklava and hurmasica at home. I found the baklava to be overly sweet but I really enjoyed the hurmasica. Very unique and not too sweet. Overall, I fell in love with Aroma Café, and I have Dine LA to thank for this experience. Also, they have a lunch stamp card, so I'm excited to come back to fill my card up while also getting great lunch deals in Westwood.

Yelp
Aroma is a nice, cozy Cafe on Overland just south of Pico in a small shopping center. The server was very professional and attentive. The turkish coffee was excellent. Later hours until 10pm Recommended.

Yelp
Aroma Cafe, a Mediterranean restaurant and cafe, is a hidden gem that offers a delightful culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was charmed by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor is warm and elegant, with comfortable seating and a welcoming vibe. I decided to try their cafe mocha and cappuccino, and both exceeded my expectations. The cafe mocha was rich and creamy, with the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate flavors. It was a comforting and indulgent treat. The cappuccino, on the other hand, was expertly crafted with a smooth, velvety texture and a robust coffee flavor that was simply delightful. But the highlight of my visit was the Spinach Pita. This dish was an absolute revelation. The pita bread was fresh and perfectly baked, while the spinach filling was seasoned to perfection, with a wonderful blend of herbs and spices. It was light yet satisfying, and every bite was a burst of Mediterranean flavors. Staff was pretty sweet too to hell us and suggest menu

Yelp
Aroma Cafe is a wonderful restaurant for families, parties, special events, and relaxing. I had a great dining and coffee experience there, with excellent service from Tibet.

chanon V.

Yelp
The server name Tibet provided excellent service.I had a wonderful experience enjoying the delicious food and coffee. The restaurant is also very lovely

Yelp
Some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Made me feel a ratatouille moment for a culture I don't come from. The food here is so delicious and homey, and every bite was fantastic. Eating here makes me feel as if I were at someone's home, eating food made with the love of a parent. The grilled potatoes were simple and tasty, and the grilled peppers were a nice way to cut through the fattiness of the other dishes. The sarma in grape leaves were very comforting, especially with the great flavor from the broth. The pljeskavica is as amazing as their website pronounces, and was one of the best cooked burgers I've had. The smokiness from the grilling added a great little punch and a nice depth of flavor. Great service as well. The experience was well worth the wait.

Yelp
SO GOOD....!!!!!! PLJESKAVICA WAS AMAZING...!!!! came here for dine LA so it was crowded but guys the wait was so worth it. From the side dishes (grilled potato w cheese... bean soup... mmmmmmnnm) to the pljeskavica and the baklava, I absolutely fell in love with this restaurant. I would say that the cheese pita is probably the only thing I wouldn't order again, not that it's bad but it was definitely less insane as the other dishes (maybe next time beef and potato pita?) we also got a Turkish coffee which comes with a Turkish delight which is a wonderful surprise!!!!! I would soooo come here again. Restaurant also has a small market section with a couple shelves of stuff which I'd love to take a closer look at next time. A really cozy lovely place!

Logan M.

Yelp
First timer, happened to find this place and I'm happy I did! It's a family owned business and the authenticity in the food and seating area reflect that! I tried the Veggie sandwich and added balsamic vinaigrette on the side - melt in your mouth delicioso! And, not sure how, but none of the veggies fell out the sides of the sandwich while eating - WOAH. To me this shows the cooks are intentional about their slicing and placement of veggies and as a sandwich lover - I appreciate that so much! Will be back for more.

Ni D.

Yelp
Very tasty food. Excellent service. Easy street parking or plaza parking. Cozy atmosphere. The cherry pie tasted so heavenly. Will be back!

Vuk M.

Yelp
One of the better Balkan restaurants! The cevapi were delicious and full of flavor, and the ajvar was phenomenal. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Jillian K.

Yelp
Wonderful Balkan Cafe, if you're craving some cevappi go here for a quick bite, the prices are also good. This was a quick stop for lunch that O enjoyed very much.

Peter B.

Yelp
My wife and I couldn't wait to try Aroma Cafe after our trip to Croatia last May. The flavors were spot on, it was as if we were back there! My wife got the Aroma Chicken, I got the Shish Kebab and we split the Feta Burek. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was great. Next time I'll definitely try the cevapi! We also loved the small market in the corner. We went back with some sweets and a jar of ajvar (seriously, don't miss out on the ajvar). If you're interested in trying great Mediterranean food give Aroma Cafe a try!

Sandra A.

Yelp
Really good place for Bosnian food. Take the advice of the server if you don't know the food well. Great music and service. Bring a bottle of wine. Free corkage! Enjoy!

Rochelle G.

Yelp
I'm really upset. I spent over $16 for this. It's very small portions and not worth the price. I expected a bigger meal and this looks like a kids meal.

Cici G.

Yelp
We are almost done with our ABC Foodtrip. Yesterday was Y for Yugoslavian food! We got here just after they opened and were seated immediately. The place filled up by noon. There was only one girl serving everyone inside and outside, so it did take a little while to get help, but she was doing a good job (considering). 5/5 - Turkish Coffee: Excellent 4/5 - Grilled Peppers: Marinated in garlic and olive oil. Really good. 4/5 - Ground Beef / Potato Burek: Balkan pastry filled with ground beef and potatoes 3/5 - Homemade Pita Bread 3/5 - Chicken Kebab Plate: Chicken, rice and salad. Pretty standard. Lots of cucumbers, which was appreciated. 3/5 - Cherry Pie: They call it cherry pie, but it's really more of a strudel 3/5 - Bosanski Lonac: Traditional slow cooked vegetable and chunky beef stew. Pretty good. 3/5 - Tufahiya: Bosnian dessert made of walnut-stuffed apples poached in sugar water. 3/5 - Cevapi Specialty: Ground beef kebabs served on homemade pita bread. Comes with onions on the side. We got 1 large and 1 small. The small is a good size (it's actually half of the large). The large was huge and I had to take 1/2 home! It's pretty good, but it's just meat and bread, so it eats a bit dry. The food came out to 3.4 stars. The service was pleasant, but not attentive enough to raise the review to 4 stars.

Edmel R.

Yelp
LA has a wonderful Mediterranean food scene. This place gives me the place you and your partner go to on a week day because you don't want to cook. It's very homey - and sometimes like home, meals are good some days and bad other days. My boyfriend's meal looked great! My lamb kebabs were a little more smaller portioned compared to the serving sizes I'm used to. Something to be mindful of and the one down side. They did have a market of items I assume you'd find in pantry or items from home they just don't carry in your regular Ralph's. I did enjoy the coziness of this restaurant. I would also like to try other dishes as the flavor was great!

Cesia R.

Yelp
Lovely experience! The food was delicious and tasted authentic reminded me of home. The young guy who took my order was very polite and quick. Can't wait to come bac

Liora A.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant for a home cooked meal. If you enjoy an Eastern European menu, this is the place for you.

Alex K.

Yelp
Took my Balkan girlfriend here and we absolutely loved this place. It tastes like home for her, and I had success eating here as a Vegan! Great Turkish coffee also. Highly recommended for your authentic Balkan cuisine. Cannot wait to go back!

Zach Z.

Yelp
Ordered three bureks, one meat, one spinach, and one feta. The food was good and they even sell other Balkan food items. I received my order in a reasonable amount of time and the cashier was polite.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Convenient and fast pick up via doordash/caviar The ćevapi sandwich was so flavorful, I got the "small" option and I thought the portion is pretty decent for lunch. The baklava and the potato burek (pita of the day) were just okay though. Like others have mentioned, the little market inside is super cute :)

Bridget B.

Yelp
I've come here twice in the last week. Great food, homey and low key. Nicely flavored cooked vegetables accompany the "Aroma Chicken". They serve a good, tart cherry pie (not American style). A perfect place for an excellent Turkish coffee and sweets after 5pm. The place was quite empty after 6pm both times I've visited. The staff is very sweet and friendly. Balkan imported packaged food is available as well for purchase.

Mahmut E.

Yelp
Very very delicious Cevapi meatball sandwich. It was very good. Price is little high but worth it. Service was little slow but they cook every order from scratch so it takes time. Restroom was clean. They also have a small Bosnian market in the restaurant.

Shan G.

Yelp
Weekends are busy, be prepared to wait but there are lovely little shops nearby to venture into while you do! Sit outside, their patio is lovely and of course their entire menu is delicious! We've never had a bad meal here after 10yrs!

David S.

Yelp
Been here a few times and I can tell you, it's amazing food and drinks. But the line is barely worth it. I went yesterday and the line was probably thirty people long. We had to wait outside in the direct sun for twenty five minutes just to find that one person was working one of the two registers. There comes a point when you wonder if they should just revamp their entire approach and have strictly table service with people taking orders. The waiting in a huge line, getting a number, doing five or six laps around the multiple dining rooms with a number in your hand while waiting for people to leave, feeling bad about making eye contact with dozens of people who aren't getting up yet, I mean, is that really worth it? I guess so. People seem to be lining up. Not for me. (But again, the golden milk I had was amazing comparative to most cafes).

Lawrence L.

Yelp
The the heck. I've lived in LA for 40 yrs and never knew about this place. It is so authentic Bosnian and so dang good. If u know cevap then you know. I'm so thankful for this place. The employees are kind and cheery. The ambiance is as euro Charming as possible for wla. Just go try it.

Donna R.

Yelp
Drove 2 hrs to eat the soufflé sampler and filet mignon hummus false advertisement told the waitress she said a lot of people come in expecting to order but it's wrong restaurant so why have they not taken it down their kabobs are not good it's like calling Taco Bell Mexican food

Nasser A.

Yelp
Good little quaint spot in a nice location. Offer a good selection of options on the menu and also a deli for fresh items plus imported products.

Jevorne I.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The server was really sweet. The price was acceptable. I'd definitely come back.

Gülçin G.

Yelp
I went to film festival and there was a catering service. They are from Aroma cafe, they have really good burek, salad and corn bread with zucchini. They were delicious!!!

Hall S.

Yelp
It probably is one of the best restaurants in LA. I love coming here with friends and introducing my friends to this place. It reminds me of home - their Cevapi meatballs are unbelievably good. If you're from the Balkans, it will make you cry. They also make their breads from scratch - comes warm!!!! They have an outdoor and indoor area. On a beautiful sunny day, it was great sitting outside. The service was great - the female server was kind and hospitable. It's an A+ from us!

Craig S.

Yelp
This Balkan eatery/market in a indescript shopping center in west LA seems to be exclusively frequented by Serbian, Montenegren, and Croatian nationals and that is just fine by me. It's authentic and if you don't have any experience with the Balkans you may find the menu a bit tough to navigate but it's basically mediterranean food. Get a shopska salad cevappi burek Sarma in Cabbage Ask em what's good too there may be a off the menu surprise. 4 stars because sometimes it's a little hit or miss. Get a lot of stuff and share. No booze it's byob. It's fun and delicious. Get a cherry pie and a turkish coffee too.

Avi B.

Yelp
The food was delicious, we loved the ground beef kebabs dish (cevapi), the vegetables salads and the grilled peppers. Bottom line everything was great! the service was very good as well. Very authentic place highly recommended.

Edward S.

Yelp
Aroma Cafe might be the only Bosnian restaurant in LA. Well, it's definitely the best example of Balkan food around. From aromatic grilled meats to comforting stuffed burek pastries and stuffed vegetables, you are momentarily transported to a unique corner of the Mediterranean. Carnivores! I have found your new happy place. This is a great place to unwind with amazing food and strong Turkish coffee. I ordered the large Cevapi. Ten little beef kebabs (cevapi) are formed by hand out of minced beef, grilled over charcoal, and placed in a flatbread. The beef morsels are crazy tender and juicy and seasoned with spices and black pepper. Tear off some of the bread, which has air bubbles like a crumpet on the inside and is crispy crackling on the outside. The fresh, crunchy, diced onions add a sweet counterpunch to the meat. Service: All the servers here are super friendly and attentive. Dining Area: Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. The patio area are popular with smokers. There's are shelves stocked with goods such as ajvar (red bell pepper spread) and Eurocrem (hazelnut and chocolate spread). Parking: Aroma Cafe is situated in a corner of a small strip mall. The lot is small with narrow yet sufficient spots.

Marjan N.

Yelp
I immediately felt transported to a roadside cafe in Eastern Europe. Friendly service, delicious food and old world motif made feel as if I was at a friends house for lunch and their grandmother prepared our food. Very tasty and unique menu choices. I highly recommend their Turkish coffee and pljeskavica.

Louisa L.

Yelp
Know what to order - your server knows! Aroma chicken plate & lamb shanks are our go-to's. Sandwiches on their fine pita are great. Shop the groceries and try something new. Neighborhood vibe, but people come from far away for the authentic taste of their country.

Meliha B.

Yelp

Vee E.

Yelp
This restaurant is perfect for solo diners, small families, or cute date spot. I came here to wait near the train station. The food is delicious! The service here is great, the people working here are very nice. They said the food is from Bosnia. There are little treats and a tiny market inside.

Anna L.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant on overland. I came in for lunch before the rush and sat outdoors. They only had one waitress for the restaurant which is crazy considering how busy they are. She came to drop off menus, take out order, bring us utensils, bring us our food and to give us our check that's it. Really wish they would get her some help. She tried her best. I had the chicken kabob with rice. Only came in chicken breast no option for chicken thigh. Chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. The rice had little pieces of cilantro and carrots on it. Really tasty. Would come back again. My friend had their shopska salad. Apparently she gets this once a week. Would come back and time it to miss the lunch rush.

Dante F.

Yelp
Authentic Balkan cuisine with an excellent atmosphere. The cevapi and lamb plates taste amazing, in particular. We have been here multiple times and will definitely be back.

Milani R.

Yelp
Very nice place! Friendly and quick service. I ordered the small entree stuffed vegetables mix and the cherry pie. The stuffed vegetables were a smaller potion size than expected - more like an appetizer.

Jessica R.

Yelp
Absolute gem. I'd driven by the strip mall containing Aroma Cafe probably hundred+ times and finally went in to enjoy a meal. Something about the place made me feel like I had been transported abroad. The food is simple and absolutely delicious. The servers were all so friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes from the menu.

Steven M.

Yelp
I went today to try their food as I heard good things online... the food (and the portions) are a huge disappointment. I spent $54 for the Chicken Kabob plate (more like appetizer), Aroma Chicken plate (dry and under seasoned), a side of bland rice ($10) and a shopska salad. The aroma chicken plate (chicken and vegetables only) was roughly $20! This place is a grift. No issues with service or ambiance

Ilya P.

Yelp
F*ck me, dem stuffed beef & potater pitas are delicious! Not really pitas, more like a savory crumbly pastry, but don't worry bout that cause it's tasty as heck. Stopped in for a coffee, on account of how I didn't have a chance to have my morning cup and felt a right proper headache coming on. Ended up getting a second pita. I'm waiting for it now, licking my chops. Whoowheee that's good!

Michael B.

Yelp
Shopska salad was fresh and delicious but the Turkish coffee is why I came, I'll return back for both.

Ivana G.

Yelp
Love chevapi ! I love coming here , food is amazing and reminds me of back home. Friendly stuff.
