The Best Indian Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Chef Sudharshan Kasarapu brings a wide-ranging menu of Indian specialties to Claiborne Avenue with Aroma. Everything is delicious, including excellent malai tikka, vindaloo, and curries, as well as two kinds of fried cauliflower appetizers, and a refreshing number of vegan and vegetarian-friendly options. The interior has been redone since opening and now boasts a lovely, chandelier-lit dining room." - Beth D’Addono

The Best Restaurants for Takeout and Delivery in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Everything at Aroma is delicious, including malai tikka, vindaloo, and curries, as well as two kinds of fried cauliflower appetizers, and a refreshing number of vegan and vegetarian-friendly options. I’m SO EXCITED that my favorite Indian restaurant opened a location uptown!!! I’ve been to the original location many times, and I can confirm that this location is just as great. I came with a group of 5 at 8pm and we were seated immediately. All of the food was absolutely delicious, as usual. Our server, a nice young man, was very professional and attentive. I tried the rose lassi and the coconut shrimp curry for the first time, and both of these were very good. I will definitely return to Aroma!!

The most Amazing restaurant! Luscious is a word, succulent too, zesty also and happy and fun to describe our experience. 2nd time here, it's a must every time I visit NOLA now.. and I grew up here. We love this place. Chai steeped in a pot in the kitchen, you will admit, once tried, that you have never tasted better. Mayur is a fine host and waiter who is genuinely happy when you enjoy your meal. Ok enough, go there or be square!

Had a great time. The food was excellent. The people were very friendly and welcoming. Played many Hindi music. Good place to explore Indian food in NOLA. The Masala Dosa was awesome. Also, we tried the lamb biriani, tandoori, nun and painr something. Each item was very tasty. Spice level was balanced.

The food is amazing! I'm glad we found this restaurant a few months back. I haven't had one dish I've been disappointed in. The atmosphere is humble with music playing. The staff is very helpful if you're not sure what to eat. A real gem showcasing India's cuisine.

Very delicious and tasty! Tasted authentic and the service was very polite and helpful. I ordered the somosas, chicken masala, and garlic and butter naan. Everything tasted amazing and the sauces and flavors blended so beautifully. If you’re into spices, I would ask before you order because the spices are very hot; they’re Indian spices which tend to be more flavorful and more versatile. Overall, very good and I would recommend to a friend.

Delicious Indian food, cozy atmosphere, and stellar service! So happy to have this new addition to the Uptown food scene. It has historically been a pretty small pool of Indian restaurants where we could go in for a sit-down dinner service, and we were eager to try this new location of Aroma. We've enjoyed ordering from their original Downtown location, but the new Magazine street spot is much more convenient for us to go in for a sit-down meal. We went with 2 kids, parents, grandparents, ages ranging 7-75, and everyone left happy! Flavorful food (don't sleep on the Kaju chicken!!), generous portions, and a very attentive staff made for a wonderful evening. Look forward to going back!

The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the server Mayur was very funny and friendly. We were not sure if we should come in as the place had only 2-3 tables but it’s probably because it was very late for a dinner. Definitely will be back

Honestly just mid. We ordered the saag paneer, malai kofta, samosa, naan, and mango pickle. The best thing we had was the mango pickle, but it was definitely from a jar (priya to be exact). It was also $3 for a small serving, but $3 for mango pickle can get you a whole jar at the store. The saag paneer didn’t have much flavor and the malai kofta was kinda weird. The samosas were just okay and the naan was pretty good. Mango lassi was good too. Was hoping that this place would be better, but it was just alright.
