Where to Eat in Palmers Green | Eater London

"The twin hearts of the Cypriot community lie at the top of Palmers Green on the border with Winchmore Hill — a second outpost of the legendary Turkish-Cypriot supermarket Yasar Halim, and Aroma, a Greek-Cypriot bakery. The vast selection runs the entire spectrum of Cypriot baked goods from lounza sandwiches and halloumi village bread through to spanakopita and unending combinations of pistachio baklava. Quality is generally excellent if freshly baked and two things stand out as must-orders: first try koubes (cigar-shaped bullets of crunchy cracked wheat filled with spiced pork), and make sure to finish with loukoumades, drenched balls of fried dough sweetened with clove and cinnamon infused honey." - Jonathan Nunn

London’s Best Greek or Greek-Cypriot Restaurants for Mezze and Souvlaki | Eater London

"Perhaps the most legendary Greek Cypriot bakery in London. For decades, Aroma has been supplying the community with syrupy sweets, bread, and impressively decorated cakes for christenings, weddings, and birthdays. Led by Andreas Ioannou, this family-run patisserie is well known for koupes, a Cypriot street food made of crunchy cigar-shaped bulgur wheat and filled with spiced pork or mushrooms, often bought in bulk for family occasions. In summer, locals line up for the rose-flavoured ice cream, and throughout the year, a box of loukoumades, fried doughnuts sticky with syrup and infused with cinnamon, make an ideal souvenir if the cargo actually makes it home." - Chris Cotonou

General Election 2019 | Where to Eat in Enfield Southgate | Eater London

"Reeling through the entire spectrum of Cypriot baked goods from lounza sandwiches and halloumi village bread through to spanakopita and unending combinations of pistachio baklava, Aroma is one of the city’s best Cypriot bakeries. Quality is generally excellent if freshly baked and two things stand out as must-orders: first try koubes stuffed with sticky, herby pork, and make sure to finish with loukoumades, drenched balls of fried dough sweetened with clove and cinnamon infused honey." - Jonathan Nunn

From the very first moment we stepped into Aroma Patisserie, we knew we were somewhere truly special. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but finding the perfect treats for such a meaningful day was made effortless thanks to this incredible patisserie and the unforgettable member of staff Liza. We came in looking for something traditional yet unique, something sweet that would capture both the joy of our celebration and the warmth of our culture. What we received was beyond anything we could have imagined: the most exquisite kourabiedes delicate, buttery, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar. Each one was a small work of art, perfectly crafted, rich in flavor, and filled with love. But what truly elevated our experience was Liza. From the very beginning, she welcomed us with the warmest smile and a genuine enthusiasm for being part of our wedding journey. She wasn’t just helping us choose pastries she was celebrating with us, listening to every little detail of what we hoped for, and then making it all come true with a grace and kindness that is so rare to find. Liza took the time to understand our vision, walked us through every option with patience and insight, and made sure everything was tailored perfectly to our needs. There’s something truly magical about a place that makes you feel like family, that puts so much heart into what they do, and that treats your celebration as if it were their own. Aroma Patisserie, with Liza at the heart of it, gave us not just pastries, but memories- sweet, lasting, and filled with love. If you're looking for something special, whether for a wedding, a celebration, or simply to treat yourself, look no further than Aroma. And if you’re lucky enough to be helped by Liza, know that you’re in the best hands imaginable. We are forever grateful. — A forever grateful bride & groom

I ordered a chocolate cake for my sons birthday party, 3 days before his birthday. If i could give them 10+ stars i would. I had ordered something quite difficult. The amount of details preciseness exceeded my expectations. The taste of it was amazing. I couldn't be more delighted from the service and the cake itself.

This is one of a chain of pattiseries in North London. I think Palmer's Green is pleasantly smart, and so Aroma fits in the environment well. There is a good selection of cakes and savouries. The service is good and prices reasonable. This is a good meeting place. Not large but space enough to feel comfortable in private conversation.

I absolutely love visiting this place for their delectable traditional Greek pastries. Not to mention, their fantastic cup of coffee and the incredibly friendly staff who always go the extra mile to make my experience special. And the best part? The prices are simply amazing!

Very disappointed to see that Aroma are cutting corners. I pass in every time I’m in the area but not worth the stop anymore. Where are the nuts in your thatilia? The koulourie bread was half the width. The bite size olive bread was a slither of the olives. The photo was taken from the centre of the bread that should be the widest part. It’s tiny. Not impressed at all.

This is a Greek-Cypriot bakery, but when I ask for a *metrio* coffee and the staff responds with “you want sugar?”, it’s clear something’s off. There were five people working behind the counter, yet it still took 14 minutes to get a simple coffee—only served after the tall lady asked for my order for the third time. This is what happens when staff stay too long and lose focus. The tables were dirty; I saw two women get up and move because theirs was in such bad shape. Mine was the only one without leftover cups. And as for the older lady, she doesn’t seem to do much beyond greeting everyone with “hello darling mou.” Honestly, it was dreadful. I know the place is popular with Cypriots, but maybe that’s just because they’re used to it—not because it’s actually good.

My recent visit to the dessert shop was a heavenly experience. The variety of desserts, from decadent cakes to artisanal ice creams, left me spoiled for choice. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for indulging in sweet delights. The desserts themselves were a symphony of flavors, and the presentation was exquisite. The friendly staff provided excellent recommendations, making my visit even more enjoyable. I left with a satisfied sweet tooth and can't wait to return for more delectable treats.

The best koubes for miles. I live miles away and if I have any appointments in London I try and do a detour so I can load up on greek pastries. The service can be chaotic if you don't speak greek but it adds to the charm. Be sure to stay for a greek coffee and halumi and lounza sandwich while you're there.

Yelp
I'm amazed there's no reviews for this absolutely delicious bakery. They have been using the same recipes for years, thank God they haven't change them as, one of the best places you'll find for the best Gourabithes & many more other savory & sweet pastries.. Each time I come back to London from Los Angeles, I stop and buy a whole load and take them back with me and they're always fresh! Don't move or change your recipes. Thanks
