"Blending French and Asian influences, this Fitzrovia bakery makes a bold signature honey butter toast using thick-cut, caramelized shokupan that delivers an unapologetically intense, crowd-pleasing flavor." - Stacey Leasca
"For: Honey butter toast The people behind Malaysian restaurant Rasa Sayang teamed up with a French patissier to create this bakery in Covent Garden’s St Martin’s Courtyard. The spread of pastries on their counter is a “just give me one of everything please” situation. They’ve got pistachio chocolate escargots, pineapple and mango danish pastries that look like a work of art, but it’s the sweet honey butter toast that has the perfect fluff-to-crunch ratio. It’s a golden, thick slice of toast, with a sweet, crunchy exterior and light, airy dough inside. Warburtons could never." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager
"Arome Bakery is your classic love story. Great Malaysian restaurant teams up with top French pâtissier and the rest is history. Okay, so it’s not quite your classic love story but this union has resulted in a seriously lovely bakery in St Martin’s Courtyard. You’ll inevitably spend five minutes perusing the display counter before saying ‘please just give me one of everything’ and trust us, you won’t regret that decision. Everything from the pistachio and chocolate escargots to the pineapple and mango danish is excellent, but it’s the fluffy sweet honey butter toast that is an absolute must-order. There’s also plenty of coffee available and some tables so it’ll work just as well for a quick retail rest as for a grab-and-go sugar high." - heidi lauth beasley
"The people behind Malaysian restaurant Rasa Sayang teamed up with a French patissier to create this bakery in Covent Garden’s St Martin’s Courtyard. After you spend five minutes staring at everything before saying ‘just give me one of everything to-go please’, zoom in on the pistachio chocolate escargots, pineapple and mango danish pastries that look like a work of art, and a sweet honey butter toast that has the perfect fluff-to-crunch ratio. Everything here is pretty great. Warburtons could never. There are only a handful of tables but if you're alone or with one other person then a pastry and flat white is a perfect way to start a day in Covent Garden." - Rianne Shlebak
"A Covent Garden bakery that forms part of a small-restaurant group which used the past year to experiment and adapt, demonstrating the value of agility and swift operational changes. The team’s experience rolling out multiple concepts during lockdown speaks to their resourcefulness and belief that staying nimble will help them flourish as restrictions ease." - Adam Coghlan
