Huge tvs, indoor and outdoor seating. First come first serve. Plenty of shade and fans. Benedict was perfect. The biscuit was so flaky that even with the gravy it wasn't too thick. My only downfall was that I asked for a mock tail and it was $7, when a regular mimosa is $5, and an upgraded juice mimosa was $6. It was half club soda. But me and my husband had a wonderful experience, its close to home and will definitely be back

Cute spot... go early to get a seat/table but crowd starts to build later in the evening 10pm into the later evening. Mixed crowd. Outdoors mostly with small indoor space/bar. Large screen TVs, music. Food was good. Tacos and Margaritas. Friendly staff. Be careful with parking in the area. Park in wrong spot you may get towed.

Google
Same business as the Leeland place, just different building. The menu was a little different from Google reviews. We were celebrating and expecting to order different options. The sandwiches are no longer on the menu. We ordered the hamburger. Very good option for the new customer. All of the employees are very helpful, friendly and professional. 6 Stars if it wasn't for the menu.

This place is very cool, the drinks are good and the ambiance is so much fun and lively. Unfortunately I gave it a 3 star because I waited 2 hours to get my food, despite me asking several times. The poor server/bartender was on it though and props to her.

Omg! This place! I came on a Thursday and had a great time!!! They had the best specials! I got the grilled shrimp, mash potatoes, and salad… let me say… I might need to come back every Thursday!! The team was so friendly and helped me pick a wine option, they had $5 glass/ $20 bottle, so I had too! Thank you guys!!

I keep coming to Down the Street because it’s walking distance from my house, but every single time, I regret it. The service, especially from the female bartenders, is consistently rude, snarky, and impolite. It’s not a one-off experience; it’s every single time. Today (July 11 at 4:16 PM) I ordered a sandwich and asked if the sauce was spicy. The bartender snapped back with “It’s buffalo sauce” in an annoyed tone. I asked again, just trying to understand how spicy it is, and she mockingly repeated “It’s buffalo sauce” as if I was dumb for asking. What does that even mean? Yesterday was more of the same. I ordered a smash burger and asked for mayonnaise to be included. When it wasn’t, I had to go back, wait in line again, and when I finally got to the counter, the brunette bartender acted like I was a nuisance just for asking again. No apology, no eye contact, just rude. Honestly, I’m over it. The food is decent, but the staff attitudes are consistently trash. Do better.

Google
This is a nice little place among a cluster of eateries across from 8th Wonder. It's in an old house and is really a neat place with inside and outside tables. Orders are made at the bar for drinks and food. That's the only thing I was disappointed about. The food is of the caliber worthy of a good sit down meal. The staff was very friendly. And, the food was served hot. I enjoyed my visit and will be back. But I'll be sitting at the bar next time. I recommend the Crispy Cauliflower, it is fantastic.

Google
Vibe- Literally the same chill vibe with great music as Leeland House that is literally right next door and I found out they’re owned by the same person so go figure! There’s plenty of seating options outside and inside. You find your seat and then order at the bar. Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a beach please cocktail to drink and a chicken sandwich without the chicken and extra onions to make it vegetarian; they were both good. Parking- There’s parking right in front of the building and if you get there right when they open you’ll probably get one, but if not there’s street parking.

Yelp
This was my first stop back home right off of the plane! My date and I both had the shrimp and grits. He had a side of chicken sausage that was decent. The lightly scrambled eggs were so good (idk it's the simple things about life). Finally the shrimp and grits were perfect. The grits were smooth, the cheese added even more richness but it wasn't overpowering. It looks as good as it tastes! I had a Perrier to drink to break down the cheese for my begrudged cheese lovers but it wasn't harsh on our stomachs at all. The ladies that worked inside were very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. There was a pretty good crowd in there nevertheless our service was fast. It gives sweet, quaint and country.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends on Saturday brunch. There was a DJ on the patio and the outside area has shades and fans. The food I ordered was Shrimp and Grits. It was good, however, I feel it needed some more spicy/salty flavor to balance out the sweet sauce. The brisket hash was delicious and a good size for one person. I did notice some grease from the fried potatoes in there. The mimosas were worth the price for $15 a carafe. They came out with the mimosa as soon as we ordered. Overall, I would come back here again, and probably try the different brunch menu options. I also did see online their menu is different for dinner.

Yelp
Great Thursday Night spot!!!!! Decided to stop by around 5pm for the Thursday steak night. It is definitely a cute spot with a mature crowd and a good date night spot. This bar is located in the East Downtown area. It's an inside and outside bar with a great vibe. The crowd was mixed and the music was good variety. I tried the steak and it was good but the potatoes were not fully cooked. I took a bite and the potatoe was hard. I ordered a lavender lemonade which was strong and a Lemon Drop. That grilled pineapple is a must ordered. Very decorative for the holiday season. The service was great. The bartenders were attentive and made sure I kept drinking. The parking is in a neighborhood so it's limited so get there early. Give this spot a try.

Yelp
We visited for Saturday brunch and had a great meal! You order at the bar and your meal will be brought to your table. We went with a carafe of mimosas to start, and then I tried the breakfast sandwich, which was great! Will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
Commenting on a late Friday night ambiance. Loving the large patio space they have, especially during this cold season! They provide heaters so no worries about staying toasty! Order at the bar from outside or inside. Nice layout to keep the orders convenient. Cocktail or beers, they have it ! On a less busy day, we were able to have a prime service with delicious cocktails! Bonus points: they have their own kitchen with a nice menu from shareables like wings and queso to a fuller meal, like tacos or mac and cheese ! This time, it covered our wish to have it all in one place. Drink, snack, outdoors, warm, chill ambiance, TV to entertain. Really nice chill spot ! I'll be back :)

Yelp
Around The Corner is located in wast Downtown. Met someone here for happy hour - went in around 4:30 pm soI didn't have a hard time looking for parking. They have a few private spots in their lot, otherwise, you'll have to park on the street. Service wasn't really great, I would say. Pretty much, there's a QR code you need to scan to browse the happy hour menu, although they also had a print out menu for a much extensive list. You order drinks and food at the counter, you wait for your drinks and the food will be served to you. The place is casual so expect no booths. It's really a neighborhood bar. Ordered a margarita and egg rolls and it was okay. Initially, we were going to sit at the bar but because of a lot of flying nats and mosquitoes, I opted for a table - which is quite the same. The nats were still flying around and it just ruined my experience. Also good things that we had an OFF insect spray in the car to help kinda avoid them. Only was there for a quick hour.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and got sweet potato hash with aioli on the side. It was delicious and a healthy amount. It also came out super fast and was only $15. There were a lot of other brunch options that I wanted to try and seems pretty unique (creme brûlée French toast? Yum). Would def come back here for a chill brunch experience.

Yelp
The food was so so good !!! I ordered the honey chicken biscuit, and it was so yummy. However, there were several other options that really appealed! Coffee is self serve, and you go up to the bar to order. The vibe is cool, it's set in an old house and there's a nice little patio, too. Music was a little loud once the DJ at Leeland House started. Staff was sweet and food came out really fast! Dogs are definitely allowed (always a plus) and there is parking on the street or paid in the lot.

Yelp
Stopped by with my friend for dinner before the Lizzo concert. The service was great. There was a new guy there that was super sweet and got our order just right. Not too busy on a Wed evening but a great vibe. $2 off cocktails and I believe the sharables are also 1/2 off. I forget when HH starts but it ends at 8 or 10. Tasty crispy cauliflower. So happy my friend shared with me. Bbq Bacon Burger was cooked perfectly, bacon was crispy and they put the bbq sauce on the side as I asked. Also made my fries truffle per my request and they were delicious . Nice and crispy shoestring fries and garlicky with delicious chunks of Parmesan. The Cinful cocktail was very good. Tasted a little carbonated which I liked. The flavor combo of the concoction was a great mix. My friend loved her Down South. Said it tingled the sides of her mouth but in a good way. (Hahaha, do you see what I inadvertently just did there? ;) ) The timing of the food and drinks coming out from the point we ordered was reasonably quick which was appreciated since we had a concert to get to. Ive had brunch at Leeland House and just had a work event at The Grove last week. Both were quality experiences so I knew Around the Corner wouldn't let me down. Order at the bar. My friend and I could not figure out how to order from the QR codes on the table although that is what we were advised. The QR codes only show you the menu and don't have an ordering option.

Yelp
The BEST place for mimosa carafes with friends!! Only $15 compared to other restaurants charging upwards of $25-28 for a single carafe and can be split between 4-5 people. Brunch/Sunday Funday doesn't have to break the bank! The food here is delicious too. Truffle Parmesan fries? Awesome. Flatbread pizzas? Terrific. Burgers? Amazing. And the music they're playing is always a vibe. My friends and I EASILY spend 2+ hours here on the weekends. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
I just saw that I forgot to finish my review from years ago and I'm kinda glad b/c it has reminded me I need to go back. Such a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner. Very cute outdoor patio area and nice menu options.

Yelp
Second time coming here and the second time I've had such a great experience. My husband and I treated our daughter to brunch this past Sunday and it was another excellent meal. My daughter and I both had the smoked brisket hash. Best thing I've had so far on their brunch menu. My husband had the honey chicken biscuit and loved bite. You order at the bar and they bring it out to you. The wait is never long if at all. The staff is superb and I can't wait to go back!!
google avatar

Jakesha W.

Yelp
This is a super cute place for brunch and to hangout. It's nice and intimate and the outdoor patio is very nice. I ordered the avocado toast with my eggs scrambled and it did not disappoint! Definitely in my top 3 for avocado toast in Houston. My friend ordered the chicken biscuit and said it was amazing as well. The mimosas are $4/$5. The staff is very nice and super helpful if you are a first timer. I can't wait to come back! I wish I would've taken photos but we were so hungry and couldn't wait!
google avatar

Ernesha B.

Yelp
The service was amazing. They were attentive and made sure we received everything we needed. The patio was a nice touch at night. The fried cauliflower was top-tier! I will be back.

Yelp
After the walk it's time for some lunch! First time here. So far so good. Plenty of parking. Outside and inside seating. Pet friendly. DJ!

Yelp
Love Thursday steak night and brunch! They have great cocktails and happy hour specials. Such a laid back place. Me and my girls love this spot.
google avatar

Tania M.

Yelp
Great food great drinks great environment!! Definitely a place to pregame before going to sekai and spending all your pennies!

Andrea F.

Yelp
Super cool vibe! Great place to chill and have some cocktails and good eats!! Staff was pretty friendly too! Will be back to celebrate with a larger group soon!!
google avatar

Trenesia S.

Yelp
I enjoyed relaxing outside on the patio with my lemon drops . The bar tenders are friendly and inviting , drinks were pretty good , I had a burger which was decent ( menu is pretty much elevated bar food ) . My only complaint were the flies ... I know I know it's outside ... but if outside seating for guest is available fly traps or similar should be placed around the patio . They will swarm your food.
google avatar

Vincent D.

Yelp
I didn't realize we were also at Around the Corner until we read a sign so I'll post this review on both. Everyone talks about the drinks and mimosas, which are fantastic, but the food is also. So far I've tried the biscuits & gravy and Leeland Benedict and both have been super good. Love the vibes and music with good food and drinks.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
The food is AYYYYY-mazing!!! I find Houston service something to be acquired when it comes to the way you order at counters at a lot of places instead of the servers coming to your table to take your order. But it's not a terrible thing. Just something to get used to being from Jersey. The music, the people and servers, the atmosphere
google avatar

Barrett W.

Yelp
delicious food, i had the sweet potato hash and tried my friend's creme brûlée french toast and both were amazing. they make mimosas the right way :) the coffee was okay, i forgot to specify that i wanted a hot drink so that's on me. my friends got the pistachio, cee cee latte, and i got the honey lavender, they were all tasty. service was okay, they're pretty hands off. ambiance was meh. the music was playing too loud so it was hard to find a table where i could have a conversation. it was clean and had nice decor though.

Krissy O.

Yelp
Love their steak night or Friday tacos! Usually also good tunes and vibes for brunch also.

Hilary Z.

Yelp
The vibe is great here but parking is tough to find because it is located within a residential community. It is kid-friendly! LOVE the sweet potato hash!!
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
I have been a regular for years and it seems that even though everything else is opening and changing in Eado ATC has not received the memo! Things are now fully open we are in baseball season and you are still opening and closing with short COVID hours. Menu while food is good needs a little renewal as well. Love you guys but it's time to get back to your A game!
google avatar

Elisabeth H.

Yelp
There isn't much parking out front. However, you're able to park on the dirt across the street. Inside it has dim lighting all day long. It's nice during dinner but it's a little too dark for my preference. The inside has a nice rustic feel. There is a front and back patio which was perfect for today. When you arrive you walk straight to the bartender station and order. I ordered a watermelon crawl. I was a little disappointed because it tasted like tequila and water, I was hoping for a more watermelon kick. My boyfriend ordered an old fashion and he loved it. We also ordered a board, the cheeses were FANTASTIC as well as the jelly. The only thing I wasn't too thrilled about was the ham, it looked and tasted like sandwich meat.
google avatar

Tawana J.

Yelp
Great place for dinner, drinks and just enjoyment! Food was delicious from fried cauliflower to queso to brisket Mac n cheese, straight yummy! A TV screen to watch games - very fun hang out
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
Dropped late on Sunday afternoon. Ordered some dessert to go. Took forever, must have been shift change. But, it was delicious. Giant Chocolate chip cookie served hot with vanilla ice cream on top. Really good. Have had the chance to order off the menu, but plan to be back soon.
google avatar

Aisha D.

Yelp
A friend told me about this little gem and I love it. Definitely a little duck off spot to go hang. Outdoor patio with Jenga and ping pong was great. Drinks were fairly good, service fantastic, pizza amazing and light. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Kenya M.

Yelp
Okay so I'm giving 5 stars because the steak night is best in town in my opinion. I'm picky as hell and they never disappoint. Consistency is key! Now the $20 bottle of wine on Tuesday night and the added complimentary snack plate really won my heart. You guys are the best and I love the coziness of the place. The jukebox selection is fire! Anita Baker came on last night and I was like okay it's time for a review. I'd market for you guys seriously. So this is an update to my previous review. You guys should really do something to help the hellacious mosquito problem at your establishment. I celebrated my birthday for steak night in September and we couldn't sit outside because they were so bad! I know you offer repellent but that's not enough. You need citronella candles or something! It's insane! Then you prop the door open so the mosquitoes can invade the inside! My friends and I were ate up.
google avatar

Christine J.

Yelp
Located right next to leeland house.. I go there for brunch and Around the Corner for dinner! This place has inside seating, front patio seating, and more seating behind the restaurant! Bar and regular seating is inside. Dog friendly for the outside! This place is more of a bar.. serving small plates, drinks, and finger foods. Steak night is on Tuesdays and let me tell you, the steak is pretty delicious for a bar serving it. Also, try the cheese platter. Everything about it is good. The amount of stuff they put on the platter is worth the 17 bucks. Happy hour is usually from 4-7. Will be back!
google avatar

AJ S.

Yelp
Omg yuuuuum this place was amazing! From the staff Alexa & Eric, the mimosa & the food! Oh my goodness!!! The next time I'm in Houston I will go again, this Is a must for me oh yea and I can't forget the jammin Dj! The music was just right and atmosphere was awesome
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Delightful atmosphere. Counter service only so be sure to look at the number in the table you select to ensure your food is delivered correctly. Nice staff. Tucked away in EaDo. Limited parking so get there during off-hours if you want a spot to park. Bar food and daily drink specials. Pulled port street tacos were as was the queso and chips. The two beverages I ordered, however, didn't live up to the hype in my opinion my everyone around me really enjoyed them. Will return for brunch before it gets too hot
google avatar

Oliver B.

Yelp
They're back! Friday evening was a joy to get back with friends on the shared patio. You can order drinks from the outdoor patio or inside bar. Just know your table number in case you order food which comes from The Leeland House next door. That's the shared patio part. Mosquitos can be an issue in any part of Houston, but bring insect repellent in case they're out.
google avatar

M K.

Yelp
First time here, five of us were at a U of H event and found this very close place to eat on yelp, just 1.8 miles away. What a wonderful surprise. Our group had burgers and shoestring fries, chicken Caesar salad, rustic flatbread and street tacos. Service was spot on, and super friendly. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable for a group or for singles or couples. The food was expertly prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients. Shout out to the chefs. They obviously are experienced. And they're open late which was perfect. If you're looking for a great place with excellent food and reasonably priced close to campus, try Around the Corner.
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
I came here on Saturday for brunch and the best part was there is no wait! I don't see a big parking lot but there's plenty of empty lot that you can park. The bar is super cute and chic! One of the best part is the worker! They are so chilled, fun and friendly! Texans pizza (4/5) French toast (3/5) - too doughy Shepherd breakfast (3/5) Latte (3/5) Overall, the food is alright but the atmosphere definitely makes up for it! I would come back for the pizza and drinks

Kari J.

Yelp
First time on a Sunday..... not impress until Kevin waited on us. He was friendly and welcoming!! They are busy on a Sunday but he made us welcoming ! He is a tockstar.!!!
google avatar

Kris G.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday and was both surprised and thrilled to learn that it was steak night! For $17, you get a decent sized steak, scalloped potatoes, and a salad. First of all, those scalloped potatoes gave me life..... I'm supposed to be cutting down my carbs and here I am stuffing my face with pataters. One of the waiters took our tables' salt and pepper without even considering that we needed those items, so I was a bit confused by their choice to do that. However, I was able to get them to replace both items with just a simple request. Based off of some reviews here, I decided to try their popcorn, and it definitely did not disappoint. I enjoyed a few handfuls while there and took the remainder home with me. Drinks were a bit pricey and it was a bit loud, but otherwise, it's a cool lil spot close to the job to escape to.
google avatar

Maddie K.

Yelp
LOVE! Their brunch is great! I love coffee, so I got an almond milk latte which was fantastic! My friends both got a brunch cocktail and they loved theirs too. We all three got the sweet potato hash and all loved it! The only downside is that it's really loud, so kind of hard to have a conversation. Also the coffee took a while to come out, but it was really busy so that's understandable!
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Not sure why Yelp says the place is closed, it is open and thriving! Great cocktails, amazing brunch options and overall a good time. Not to mention 18$ steak nights on Thursday! And the view
google avatar

Ruby D.

Yelp
Steak night can draw me into most bars, but add some patio lights and i'm sold! This cute bar had been bookmarked forever and last night when deciding where to meet up for dinner, ATC came to mind since it was a Thursday. This little Eado bar was hoppin for a weeknight. We sat on the back patio but there's plenty of sitting room inside if that's your thing, as well as the front patio too. The crowd was mixed and I enjoyed that. Dog friendly! $17 will get you a hefty chunk of beef, a nice mixed salad, & some scalloped potatoes. We ordered some spinach artichoke dip to share as well and that was delicious. Beer selection isn't huge but definitely good enough. They have a nice range of wines and cocktails. (PS. Wine night on Tuesdays means $20 bottles with complimentary light bites) The music was a smidge too loud, though. We couldn't really have any conversation... and on top of that the playlist was odd in itself... I mean, they played the "chicken dance" song for example.

Yelp
So the below review was from the owner of Around the corner in attempt to change my review. Apologies sir, but you did place a hold on my credit card-- without notice--for what I considered a standard restaurant food purchase. I feel people should know this. Now, you have claimed to have driven to a local venue (18 miles away) THAT I ATTEND in attempt to "review my review." This seems highly unusual (if not slightly creepy). My apologies for giving you a bad review. Perhaps you should inform your customers of your practices and provide them with up-front transactions info prior to check out. And on a personal note: reviewing my reviews does not somehow change my experience at your venue nor absolve another venue of bad practices.
google avatar

Saba E.

Yelp
What a cute little bar! I also like that in addition to drinks, they also have food and bar bites. They seem to have a pretty good selection of liquors and beers, but I really didn't get a sense of their wine selection. Additionally, they also have a great cocktail menu! My favorite part of the bar, however, is the patio. It's large, partially covered, and has large fans! It was surprisingly nice on a July evening in Houston. And, if you're a local, you know it's terribly difficult to spend time outside in July! I hope to return!
google avatar

Fabian R.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars. There's plenty of parking in front or along side. Upon entering there's plenty of seating along the bar and also tables along the right side. There's always great music playing and also a digital jukebox that allows you to hear your favorite song. There are flatbread pizzas and bites if you find yourself hungry. And the view from the backyard is phenomenal. Dont hesitate to make a stop here on your next night out.
google avatar

Amp B.

Yelp
Street tacos are excellent along with the queso dips if they had a few more options for happy hour, then it would be perfect...but a good spot and experience nonetheless
google avatar

Anne M.

Yelp
Came for the first time yesterday and loved it! Their Happy Hour alone is a great deal, but they have daily specials that have me planning to come back every day. It's the perfect mix of a small bar feel but they've got their act together. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive, atmosphere was welcoming and inviting, they even had a DJ begin playing on a Thursday! Overall had a great experience and can't wait to come back for Sunday brunch.
google avatar

Bianca H.

Yelp
3 stars because, they seem to be always out of the cocktails and snacks i want that are on the menu. And I wanted to throw a birthday party here for a friend because, this first time I came to Around the Corner was for a going away party, and I could NEVER get anyone on the phone or respond to a DM on Instagram. I never tried going to physically speak to anyone but, I guess that would've been the only option. Otherwise, a very chill bar. I love the outside view of downtown and being in east downtown, there's always a huge mural to take picture in front of. Thursday night steak nights are really delicious!
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
The cutest place to have brunch with the austin rainey street feel. The brunch menu is a limited small menu, however for such a small menu you can't go wrong with what ever item you choose. Each food item is delicious! If you have a friend that can never decide on what to eat then the limited menu might just be for them. Must have : blood orange mimosa!! Best blood orange mimosas i have tasted in houston. Go ahead and just treat yourself to a full carafe.....just do it!! One sunday i came and a DJ was playing some amazing 90's music.......haven't seen him since. We get a limited amount time of amazing weather to enjoy patio life.....when the breeze comes in sit your booty in the patio and gaze at downtown houston and some awesome grafiti art.
google avatar

Miya K.

Yelp
The out door vibe and music is on point. I love the brunch menu and the salad with the chicken is so amazing i dream about.
