From the moment I stepped inside, I felt like I’d entered a food enthusiast's paradise. The shelves are lined with a cleverly curated selection of wines, craft beers, artisanal cheeses, table/kitchen accessories and specialty foods — basically, everything you might need to impress at your next dinner party...or just treat yourself! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I especially loved that they let me browse at my own pace. I felt like every time I turned a corner I discovered delightful new surprises — from soup-making kits and small-batch sauces to gourmet chocolates and delectable ice creams. The ambiance is just as inviting as the selection, with cozy, vintage charm (those tin ceilings!) and warm, welcoming vibes. I met the owner too -- she is every bit as quirky and wonderful as I expected her to be given the store. Shopping here is an experience. If you love good food, good drinks, and great hospitality, Art of the Table is an absolute must-visit!

One of the most fascinating stores in GR. Fantastic and unique items for the kitchen, the house, and gifts. Also, they have a unique and surprising Gin collection. Must visit.

I had a fairly disturbing experience at Art of the Table today. I've been shopping (and supporting financially) local businesses for 19 years. This was one of the business I have tried to support as much as possible. Several days before Christmas, I bought about $40 worth of very expensive chocolate bars as stocking stuffers. Several had expired the month prior, which I didn't notice as they were being sold, and at full price. Each bar cost about $8, so they are not inexpensive. When I opened it today to enjoy it, there was a fairly strange taste to the bar. I then noticed it had expired in November 2024. Meaning, the chocolate had gone to market almost one year prior and they Art of the Table was now selling expired bars. When I called to ask if I could simply change it for a different bar since it was expired, they didn't believe that I had actually purchased the chocolates before Christmas (even though I said I could show them my credit card receipt). They then claimed that the bars weren't really expired even though the date clearly showed they had expired. When I asked Laura if she could check the other Fosse Bars I had purchased, she said their remaining stock of these bars were now on sale at 50% off, and that she had been eating them and they were just fine. And, she was serving the expired bars to all her customers, who hadn't complained. To knowing sell expired food in your store is pretty low. To sell expired food at full price is even worse. Lastly, to treat so poorly a long-term customer in such a discourteous way implies that the support is certainly one-way. No more support for Art on the Table from me. And, I will share my experience with many others.

Perfect gourmet kitchen store with any item you will need to be the perfect host or make your home beautiful and abundant. The items are high quality and they have so many cute items. The service is fantastic and they also have a great wine selection along with miscellaneous giftable goods.

Google
Please get a new knife sharpening service. They didn’t mind the correct angle for both my knives and there are scratch marks up the sides and more material was taken away in spots. I really love everything you guys do and hesitated to write a review but I don’t want someone else who loves their knives to have the same thing happen. The marked up photo is the one I had sharpened the other is more of how it should look.

Such a lovely shop! Came in looking for garlic related kitchen gadgets and the gal working was super helpful.

Yelp
If you are a wine connoisseur, this is the place for you. If you don't know squat about wine, this is also the place for you. However, this place does not just sell wine. It also sells many other things relating to the kitchen and more. They have very unique and handcrafted accessories. I wanted to give a gift to a friend who loved wine. But I didn't know anything about wine, so I was recommended to go to Art of the Table. I walked in and told them that I needed help picking out wine for a friend. Based off of what I knew about what my friend liked about wine, the worker was able to narrow down on some wine that my friend might like. The woman who I worked with, was incredibly nice and patient, and very knowledgeable on wines. It looked like they had a very large collection. I took some time around the shop to look around at other really cute things. I would highly recommend looking around! All in all, a great experience shopping at this place and definitely worth looking around!

Yelp
I enjoy the walk in fridge and good selection of beers, just wish the employees decent. They have given me a hard time with my ID almost every time I go. Worst of all, I was once denied because a person that walked in at the same time as me had left the store before I checked out and they thought we were together. They said they needed to see both IDs before they could sell to me. I said forget it and haven't been back since.

Yelp
This locally owned shop is a great place to find gifts, items for parties and get togethers, holidays, or just because. They have lots of great items for the home/kitchen/bar, lots of alcohol including a great wine selection and a small walk in beer cooler. When I went in a year ago looking for nonalcoholic spirit options they didn't really have any, but they might have more now. Employees are friendly and typically ask if they can help you find anything. If you're looking for something in particular, you can always call ahead and see if they have it in stock. The store itself is a bit small and jam packed with shelves and lots of items, so it can get a bit crowded and cramped at times. Some of my favorite items at Art of the Table are Patricia's Chocolates (beautiful and delicious treats that make great gifts), Jeni's ice cream, and fun bottles of wine. They'll bag your gift items for you which makes it a great stop on the way to a party. Definitely add Art of the Table to your holiday gift shopping plans!

Yelp
This shop is like a local Williams and Sonoma! Really cool items for your kitchen and it reflects in the prices as well . I saw a felt trivet for $40!!! That would be a nice housewarming present but I'm a but too cheap to drop that much money on something that I can probably make. Specialty liquor and beer galore! I would definitely spend $40 dollar (or more) on their great selection of booze and mixers. I moved back from Northern California in 2020 and the craze there was mixers for your drinks. I did see some that I would try but again, pretty pricey. Do they run sales? Oh...I also saw a small cooler that had gourmet cheese! I gave this local shop 4 stars for assortment of kitchen goodies and alcohol. I did attend an event that was hosted by Art of the Table years ago and it was a good time. Didn't purchase because I didn't feel like spending a whole paycheck here.

Yelp
A quaint small shop with a good selection of wine and beer. The standout is the nostalgic beverage cooler offering a variety of beer with a good amount of MI craft beer. A shelf with some basic ingredients and throughout the store are different utensils and service ware.

Yelp
I have a lot of great things to say about this charming little store. Many last minute gifts have been bought here by this procrastinator, and the recipients are never disappointed! From kitchen items to bar and food items, Art of the Table has so much. I love walking in just to browse. Sometimes the items are a bit overpriced, but mostly what you would expect for the area. I really appreciate how helpful the staff are whenever I visit. They're always friendly and willing to give a wine recommendation, and I've been really impressed with how knowledgeable almost every person working there always seems to be. The alcohol selection has grown over the years I've visited and seems to be getting more and more diverse. If you have a chance to visit this awesome shop, make sure to browse the walk-in beer cooler that boasts over 200 beers and ciders!

Reena K.

Yelp
I absolutely love this store! This store has the best finds in terms of table decor, artisan wine and cheese, and of course beer. Also, customer service is just the best - ask for Zoe - she'll always remember your name and always point you in the right direction for a bottle wine or unique decor that will make table settings pop!

Jen L.

Yelp
What a lovely kitchen shop. You can find everything here from wine to serve with dinner, the dishes to serve your food on, fancy chocolates to serve with dessert and decor. The staff was lovely and I was impressed with their bitters selection. Their selection has a little bit for most tastes and it was fun to see the retro-nouveau pyrex that they carried. The staff was bending over backwards for a customer who was looking for enormous bowls and platters. And wow the handmade pepper grinders were gorgeous and $$$. Definitely a spot to find a high end gift for yourself or someone you want to impress...with your taste and generosity.

Jan H.

Yelp
You can find everything you need here to throw a party: wine and beer and spirits, crackers and cheese, specialty ice cream, scones and quiche, and everything to serve them on and with. It's a great place for unique gifts and custom made gift baskets.

Shelly D.

Yelp
Such a gem! Love to come and just look around. Friendly helpful people. Great place to pick up a gift. Nice selection of wine, beer and alcohol. Love the samples they do. Can always find something to buy!

Amanda L.

Yelp
I stopped in on a whim to look for Michigan themed items for a Christmas giftbox. I have visited before but somehow forgot that they have such a huge selection of gifts and products. I walked up to floor to ceiling shelves of artisan salsa, teas, spices, flavorings, jams, butters and every other condiment in between. At the suggestion of the friendly staff member, I found several Michigan themed items, including adorable tea towels, a mitten cheese platter, cutting board and more cherry themed items than I could count. I picked a package of lavender almonds (MI made natch) and a super cool, totally novel Michigan stamped ego towel. I think my friend will be delighted to have these as part of the gift. Next time I'll be back to sample the beer and cheese selection for gifts for the most important person on my list- me!

Yelp
This is a great little shop. Full of high quality products that include cured meats, sauces, condiments, cookbooks, kitchenware, alcohol, chocolates and (my absolute favorite) Jeni's icecream!!! They have SOOO many flavors the staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Chris N.

Yelp
What a great little shop, packed to the fullest with a wide array of the best quality gift items and specialty food & drink, and a focus on locally-sourced items. I've been able to find some of my favorite rare craft beers that were totally unavailable or scarce in Kalamazoo, while picking up excellent inexpensive wine selections and some fabulous speciality cheeses. Service is always friendly and helpful, with none of the snobbishness you might expect at a place like this. A gem.

Eric B.

Yelp
Fantastic store with a little bit of everything for your gifting needs. Excellent selection of small vineyard wines, great selection of beer and so many choices in chocolate including Patty's handmade chocolates. They will also create custom made gift baskets. The staff treat you like family and truly are there to help you find the perfect item. A beautiful little store on Wealthy.

Yelp
I really, really want to like this establishment. They have a great selection of products and I would love to support this local business but I have had a less than pleasant experience each time I've been. The shop from the outside appears to be very cute and adorable but it's not until you're deep within it's belly that the cute and adorable facade crumbles to reveal something much different. Upon opening the door I was hit with a wall of stench. This is not a metaphor. The place actually smells. I can only describe it as a combination of broccoli farts and the decaying carcass of an unfortunate rodent that met it's fate in a bucket of fermenting milk. I wish this was a exaggeration. Art of the Table has now been dubbed "Fart of the Table" based on its smell AND stinky attitude. With twice-weekly (and expensive) visits to the store I bought some Pâté de Campagne as a birthday treat only to discover it was ROTTEN and green. When I returned it the next day the woman at the counter did not apologize, acted affronted and suspicious while glaring at me. After accepting store credit for the return I picked out a lovely bottle of Viognier, handed over my ID only to be refused. My license expired literally hours before ON MY BIRTHDAY. I'm almost 30 years old. She made it sound like I was an unruly parasite trying to buy expensive wine for underage kids outside. Go to Martha's for a better wine/cheese/beer selection, along with delightful staff. Go to G.B. Russo for an awesome selection of high end kitchen items. Sans stank. Smell can be overlooked, however customer service and politeness (or lack there of) cannot.

Yelp
I'll keep this review short and sweet - GO HERE! This is a great little shop, with all kinds of cool culinary items and foods. BACON SPREAD!? So... my favorite thing? Simple: the beer cooler. Create my own six pack of a depth of Michigan beers? I think I will. Also, lots of nice decor items for sale - my wife loved browsing the store while I checked out the wines and beers.

Mitch M.

Yelp
Gentrification of Wealthy in it's purest form. To me it seems to be shop designed for the Forest Hills/Ada and Grandville-esq housewife. The only reason I shop here is due to the location. Small, but good beer selection. Other reviews seem to put the service on blast, I thought their service was great. Always seemed friendly with me. Prices seem to be a tad high to me, but perhaps that's the cost of opening a chic store on wealthy. Overall- it's not a bad place- not a great place.

Lola A.

Yelp
This is one of the most delightful stores! It's right next door to Wealthy Street Bakery, where you can get some of the areas best baked goods. Art of the Table is an eclectic artsy inventive sort of store. It's a place where you can find a set of bamboo plates and all sorts of interesting cooking aids and books. When I was there last, they were doing a product sampling of ice cream/ geletos. If you're looking for an interesting gift or like unique items for your home, this is a store you'll enjoy. It's not a large place, but the decor and arrangements are really fun to browse. I also appreciated the time and attention they took in gift wrapping a gift selection which I had purchased. While not inexpensive, you'll find many items here that you won't see in most other stores in Grand Rapids.

Pamela H.

Yelp
My first time here went great and they have a amazing selection of unique foods, dips, beers and so much more I didn't have time to look at since I stopped in after work. I had been looking for a pretzel dip by Robert Rothschild called Raspberry Honey Mustard Dip. I looked everywhere on line an some places were charging double the price on-line plus a huge shipping charge due to the weight. I just happen to find Art of the Table while I was searching an for once my luck paid off, they had it! It was also way cheaper buying from them than on-line so I bought 2 of them and a jar of red pepper jelly. I will definitely be going back. Everyone was very helpful and even helped me find a few others I will buy at a later time and when I have more time to look at everything rather than coming a hour before they close. Thank you for the great service.

Valerie L.

Yelp
I was a bit hesitant to walk into this store because I assumed it would be over-priced and pretentious. But I was pleasantly surprised. I walked around for a few minutes and was asked if I needed any help.....which I appreciate. I really liked their selection of small items from soaps to vinegars to kitchen utensils to wine glasses. They have a small selection of red and white wine, liquor, cheese, gelato, chocolates, and a small walk in beer cooler in the back of the store too. This is a great place if you need to grab a unique gift for someone especially if they like food, alcohol, or cooking. Some of the items were over-priced, but most were not too bad. I purchased a bar of pineapple soap from France that smells amazing! I'll definitely be returning to check out any new items in stock!

Yelp
My patience with this place has expired, so I will not be going back. Normally I stop in here once or twice a week to pick up gifts, wine, beer or cheese, and I appreciate their line of kitchenwares. They carry great brands, and I was thinking of special ordering more Schott Zweisel stemware from here to support a local company rather than going online. Their prices are a bit high but completely reasonable for a specialty store--I appreciate they don't have the buying power of Target, and I will pay more because it's worth it when a store like this edits down their selection to just the good stuff. However, I can't give them more than two stars because their service is terrible! I've never once walked in and actually felt like they were happy to see me, let alone remembered that I've been a long time customer. They're huge sticklers for IDing everyone you're in the store with if you're buying alcohol, which is fine, but you don't have to snap at my companion(s) standing next to me at the register that you need to see their ID. None of us look like we're under 21, we're all happy to show you our ID, so why the hostility? This has happened numerous times, and it would be nice that the same handful of employees who see me week after week actually recall that I'm old enough to buy alcohol. In addition, there really is an awful smell that hits you when you first walk in the door. It's so bad that I've almost asked about it several times but couldn't figure out the best way to bring it up. It's not quite as bad once you're inside the store, and some days are better than others, but it's so unappealing!

Ryan K.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go in Grand Rapids. When it comes to specialty drinks and indulgences Art of the Table offers only the finest. They do not mess around with mass produced low budget products but instead offer a nice spread of the most excellent products, including very affordable options. My favorite aspects just to name a few: -Educated Staff: staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. -Wine: Incredible selection, yet to purchase anything i was disappointed in. -Walk in Beer Cooler: awesome beer, available by the single bottle. -Dancing Goat Creamery Cheese: if you haven't tried yet, do soon! -Very local. Promote businesses in the area doing a good job.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
I visited Art of the Table to buy a microbrew beer that had received a good review. The owner/manager was so rude that I had a hard time making my purchase. I thought you were supposed to be nice to the customers. There was a delightful woman showcasing her products, but the mood of the people behind the counter was so sour I will never go back.

Jaime S.

Yelp
I just stoped into this place today and it is absolutely adorable. They have very cute items to decorate your table with along with cheeses, spreads and wine. Defineately a great place to find a gift for someone special. They do tend to be on the pricer side but the stuff they have, you won't find most other places.

Erik W.

Yelp
Horrible service, horrible smell, snooty owner who thinks you are trying to steal and follows you around the store. Rude! Go somewhere else!!!!

Mr. T.

Yelp
The best part about this store is that you can't make a mistake - everything in here is high quality! They find the stuff no one else has heard of so when you buy something you aren't paying for the product's marketing or brand - you're just paying for the quality! They have wines here that I didn't even know existed - but are every bit as good as the more famous bottles that are many times more expensive. It's a HUGE time saver to go in here. Just ask the staff and they'll give great recommendations. My wife is a super "foodie" person and I recently surprised her with a dinner party. I wanted to make sure the wines would be outstanding, and totally trusted this store to help make selections. I bought a mixed case. The day of the party the owner surprised me by calling and offering to deliver it for free! The wine was a smash hit - easily would have spent twice that much money and tons more time researching it and buying it anywhere else. For as many times as you end up buying a wine or beer that you regret, this place is a money saver because they won't steer you wrong!

Emily O.

Yelp
Just stopped in because it was conveniently on my way to a friends house. Great customer service and great selection!! :)

K W.

Yelp
Great for gifts and sweet little items. Everything from table cloths and placemats to plates to wine and even great ice cream. A little hole in the wall, but one filled with many temptations!~ I agree with Lola, shop at Art of the Table and then head next door to Wealthy Street Bakery!

Gail B.

Yelp
A great place to find interesting and unusual items. Staff is helpful and will give a review of favorite things or help with care packages. The prices are on par with Downtown Market but that is expected. A gift shop or something for foodie friends for certain!

Discount S.

Yelp
A unique boutique of decorative and edible gifts such as cheese, wine, and baked goods. Reasonably priced items and, although their wine selection is not the best, their assortment of exotic cheeses varieties are exceptional. A must do if you are a cheese and wine lover!

Peggyjane O.

Yelp
Its a cute store, a little pricey though. Customer service has gotten increasingly worse though and my last two experiences were less than desirable - the cashiers were straight up rude. I will no longer be referring this place to my friends or family members.

Whitney S.

Yelp
This place is the best! Perfect customer service, on time delivery and helpful staff members. I highly recommend Art of the Table.
