Boon Or Bane: Restaurant Reservation Deposits

"After suffering 32 last-minute cancellations in one evening that wiped out about a third of expected revenue, the team began taking credit card details for group bookings of 10 or more, and in the year since imposing deposits customers have responded well, with the restaurant filling to capacity almost every day." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

10 restaurants to celebrate the festive season in Singapore - SilverKris

"Led by chef-owner and MasterChef Singapore judge Bjorn Shen, this irreverent modern Middle Eastern kitchen serves hearty mezzes and generously portioned sharing dishes well suited for festive family meals. Standout items include a fried chicken dish (AFC) and a theatrical 2.5kg slow-roasted lamb shoulder called the ‘Lambgasm’ (available by 48-hour pre-order), and the venue offers both indoor seating and a lush outdoor dining area ahead of an upcoming relocation." - Dinesh Ajith

It's a fantastic place with amazing food. I really appreciate the combo menu: Baller Menu. because it was so easy to just order this we got to try a bit of everything. I asked what's recommended for the slab and stacks i was told Bacon apple pie, Dirty duck and Tropic Thunder. The spread was delicious and so yummy, especially the slab. We had the maple bacon along with a strawberry salad with Burrata. I was really happy that I could bring my dogs as well into this place. If only the outdoor seating was a bit windier I think it would make tonight even better.

Came here for my birthday dinner. This was my second time here, but first time since they changed their menu. I did like the concept, a more laid back menu in a nice ambiance. Food was not bad, favourites were bacon apple pizza, fried chicken and the lamb ribs, but nothing extraordinary. However, service was pretty bad. Had to do so much just to get service, and was practically chased out of the restaurant. I feel like staff should be more trained and be more enthusiastic given the price point. Changing this would make the experience much better. Would come back to try the other menu items but overall not an incredible experience.

A casual dinning, bar and place with a different menu from the norm.... that was my experience. Their menu simple yet amazing. Had crab meat korea spaghetti.. that was creamy, Balance a fusion touch not too heavy.. Good for a two pax sharing to enjoy Dirty margarita, amazing cheese, size ia good.. crispy crush and moist inside..love this Crispy rack of lamb, cumin flavoured like a china good street, but it was diffinately seasoned with western cuisine herbs, crispy is their signature and the meat ia falling off it's bone with moist. A must to go when in new.barhu.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3-Star Review of Artichoke Artichoke has its hits and misses. The service was a highlight — special mention to the Indian wait staff brother who was attentive, listened well, and spoke clearly, making the experience pleasant and smooth. The real star of the meal was the fried chicken — crispy, juicy, and so good it didn’t even need the sauce. However, a few dishes fell short. The fried squid was unfortunately hard and chewy, while the burrata lacked freshness and that soft, creamy texture you’d expect. The crab and rose pasta was quite ordinary and didn’t stand out, and the lasagne fried nugget turned out dry. Overall, a mixed experience — great service and one standout dish, but several items that could use more care and consistency.

We had Sunday lunch here. Tropic thunder, maple bacon apple pie, beef pepperoni were the faves for us. The Burrata starter with fried shisio and jackfruit was very nice on a hot day. I also enjoyed the starter squid and cherry pie. Happy hour sun was long 12 to 7pm and really nice touch. On a previous visit for dinner with different friends we all loved the squid pizza as well.

I think if one goes in without the expectation of eating a traditional pizza then you’ll enjoy it - there’s nothing to shout about the dough, but what I really enjoyed was the rich and unique flavors of the topping. lasagna nuggets were kinda dry and the mud cake was pretty disappointing as i expected it to be richer and have at least a thicker sauce? service was below average the staff really looked like she didn’t wanna be there lol otherwise will revisit to try out some of the other pizza flavors

A venerable institution and old favorite that relocated to New Bahru. Food was decent but not to the standards of the old menu. We ordered an old favorite - the lamb - which used to be exquisite but now dry and light in flavour. The hummus, once the best in Singapore, similarly has been needlessly re-engineered into a creative Brussels sprouts infused creation. All in all, the food is decent and the bread is still fantastic (warm and fresh out the oven) but a step down compared to its heydays on Middle Road.

This is Artichoke 2.0. Not quite the pizza parlour we expected, that said we quite like the new casual ambience. Menu selection is a mix of modern Italian cuisine with an Asian twist. One can savour the different herbs and ingredients in small bites. We like it. Service team makes the dining experience more delightful.
