Artie's Steak and Seafood Restaurant

Great place in the city island area! Calamari was very fresh and tender and the veal francés that I tried was exceptional. Atmosphere is good overall, but a little too dim lighting for my taste! Service was great! Also has available parking but it’s pretty tight and kind of limited. One thing to note it being a seafood restaurant and located in city island the fish smell was a bit intense as you walk in but nothing that would ruin your dining experience.

Went here with my husband. Appetizers - clam chowder, fried calamari. It was good not the best we’ve had but pretty good. Drinks - frozen mango mojito - really good! Entree - lobster rolls and french fries - the rolls had a little too much mayo for my liking. Service - friendly and fast.

Everyone of our entrées were cooked to perfection, add to perfectly seasoned, and large portions, attentive staff and great service, our wonderful waitress Esha made our trip from Bensonhurst Brooklyn worth the trip. We had mentioned that someone at the table was celebrating a birthday, she made sure to sing happy birthday as she brought her dessert to the table. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Where can I begin, does mediocre even begin to give you a sense. I chose Artie's over other City Island eateries expecting a better quality meal than Tony's or Sammy's but didn't get what I paid for. The clams oreganata needed more flavor, garlic and lots more oregano, I've made them better at home. The Manhattan clam chowder was probably the best part of the entire meal. The garlic bread resembled those 25 cent mini heros you get in the supermarket; it was small, dry, flavorless and just plain sucked! The frozen garlic breads are way better. I should've brought Texas toast in my pocket. Now for the meal. The Surf N Surf came out with an overcooked, rubbery lobster tail and a bland tasteless ensemble of what they called shrimp scampi. The red potatoes were the tastiest part of that dish. My dish was the broiled snow crab clusters with corn on the cob and french fries. It was adequate. The waitress was somewhat aloof and failed to refill my soda on several occasions but did remember to add each request to my bill. She needs to retire, I don't know if it was dementia or a lack of interest. In any event, you get the picture. For what I paid I could have eaten lobster and steak at the Capital Grill or the Palm. Enter at your own risk. I'll go elsewhere.

Great environment for family dinner or just friends hanging out. The Maple Smoked Old Fashion was one of the best. Had 3 wonderful meals.

Great service 4/30/22 very busy up beat nice friendly service,From the hostess , it starts with her, she used very good judge ment by seating a senior with a cane before myself and my husband . our waitress was friendly and she kept checking in with us to let us know that she was on her way the bus boy was on his job i-around good experience it reminded me of how Arties used to be before the pandemic , my husband and I will be back I missed the warm bread and salad 😊though. We expect it from Arties

I came in with my wife I ordered the 30oz porterhouse steak and my wife got the Surf & Turf. Both steaks were cooked to perfection (medium). Our waitress Mallory was amazing and made sure we were ok the entire time, she made us feel comfortable and welcomed. I rate her 5 stars in customer service. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend.

The food was amazing, but the service was appalling to the point that it soured the entire visit. We were at the restaurant for lunch on Saturday 6/15/2024, it was my girlfriend, her two bestie lady friends, and myself. After we finished our entrees, I (the only male), got up to use the restroom. While I was away, our waitress walked over and asked the 3 women at my table, in a condescending/concerned yet curious tone: "He's, not a father, is he?" The women were speechless and completely taken aback by the uncalled for, rude comment. The waitress didn't know if one of them was my wife, if we were grieving someone for Father's Day that weekend, if we were all family members or any type of close-group, etc. We will never return to such a disrespectful restaurant. She was an older women, with blonde hair and glasses. If management is reading this: you really ought to teach your staff about respectful etiquette for your customers.

My favorite! The staff are all fabulous and anticipate my every need. Such a comfortable dining experience, not too loud, with excellent background music. Extensive menu, but I have eaten from all of it. The kitchen can do anything. Great place for a family event, always accommodating my crazy needs! Thanks to Spiro and staff, especially Nick!!

Nice date night or spot to celebrate your birthday. I came for my birthday in October and the service was amazing. Food came out in a reasonable time frame and the drinks were on point. There was essentially no wait and we were seated without reservations. Slightly pricey but worth the money. Family vibe with the waiters/waitresses. Dressy casual style. I would return again for another celebration.

Spent $500 on bland food and overcooked tasteless lobster. Everything from the appetizer to the Pina coladas was tasteless. Furthermore , our server was a prick and had completely poor customer service . We will not be going back . Update : are the rest of my lobster and saw that there was FAKE crab in the stuffing . How do you all sell fake crab at a seafood restaurant ? Despicable .

Came here on a Sunday night with no reservations. Was able to walk in and get seated right away as the place was not packed. Service - our male waiter was prompt and attentive but nothing extraordinary Food - for appetizers we had mussels with chorizo and octopus. Both really good and tasty. For dinner, we had the whole red snapper and Chilean sea bass. Snapper came with broccoli and white rice while the sea bass was accompanied by a tomato corn salad. Both fish were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Dessert- creme brulee and fudge sundae were as expected. Drinks- white sangria was plentiful and tasty Overall, good experience, good food

We discovered Artie's on our first trip to City Island from Brooklyn and immediately knew we wanted to come back. The unpretentious atmosphere and excellent food are worth a special trip. (Special props to the singing hostess who is maybe the most happy-go-lucky person we've ever encountered ) There's an old school feeling here of "nicer" restaurants we grew up going to that's always welcome. Portions are huge (you'll likely have leftovers) and very reasonably priced. The linguini w white clam sauce is a perennial winner -- the sauce is chock full of fresh clams and herbs and so good you'll be slurping it with a spoon (seriously). My husband loved the crab stuffed sole (again, the size is kind of astounding -- but also the fish is very well-cooked, and the stuffing is lots of real crab). I've tried the strip steak, which is overall not bad but perhaps a bit tough -- would probably go for seafood next time. Overall, highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner on City Island!

I've been coming here for 25 years when it was more pizza parlor than nice restaurant and when I want a nice seafood meal with cloth napkins or just want to celebrate something. It can be a great place for anything from birthdays to a romantic dinner. Service is always good though a tad slow last time I was there and it wasn't super busy when I took my dad's caregiver (now a part of the family) here for her birthday. But this is my go to restaurant even though I no longer live on City Island. It's a trip over bridges for me but still my favorite restaurant.

Very popular place. Good food. Very loud so definitely not the quiet nice romantic meal type place but if you don't mind noises, then it's for you. For anyone that's familiar with City Island restaurants, it's the same vibe.

I had a wonderful lunch here outdoors. Ordered the twin lobster rolls and a nice cocktail. The drink was great, and The bread on the table was crunchy and delicious, wrapped in wax paper like newspaper. Adorable. The lobster rolls were plentiful on perfectly toasted buttered rolls. I didn't care for the bell pepper that they put in the lobster salad, I'd rather taste the seafood. Get rid of that bell pepper and you'll earn another star! French fries were good, and the coleslaw was excellent. The service was very good, and the waiter was friendly and very sweet. I will definitely be back!

We hadn't been in a while. When we used to go to City Island, Arties was our "Go To". A lot of the City Islanders always dined there. We felt like some mussels and just Appetizers. We had a lite lunch earlier in the day. Well just like ol' times, Arties did not disappoint. Service is good. menu was great. Food was excellent. We had some drinks, then picked 4 appetizers. Mussels Bianco, fried calamari, tuna sashimi, and clams casino. Everything was cooked to perfection.

In honor of my mom we visited one of her favorites! It did not disappoint. The food was delicious! Very reasonably priced. Big portions! Nice atmosphere! Good service! My only complaint is that I had the grilled shrimp and it comes with rice and broccoli. I asked for no rice and double broccoli and they said NO! With my blood sugar- I really cannot have the bread/rice/pasta. And of course i ended up picking at it. I really don't think it was that big of a deal. They should be more accommodating to special dietary restrictions. Other than that it was fantastic.

When you can not go to Johnny's Reef during the cold winter months the place to go to is Arties for a top of the line seafood or Italian dish. Portions are good sized and delicious. My go to is eggplant parmigiana and a side salad. The bread is good and plentiful. They have a kids menu.

The food was very fresh. The service was amazing. They understood everything we asked for. Couldn't ask for a better place to dine while in New York. We will be coming back!!! The menu has such a variety and the meat and fish is all very fresh!!!!!

The atmosphere here was great. Our server (Brian) was respectful and straight to the point. He took into consideration about my allergies (oranges) and acted on it which I appreciated a lot. Plus our food was outstanding. (Apps) Pan roasted Maryland crab cakes 10/10 Grilled baby lamb chops 10/10 (both perfectly cooked) (Entrees) 16oz chargrilled NY strip 10/10 Also my girlfriend got their (linguine w/ shrimp and lobster pasta which was in my opinion their best pasta there! I highly recommend this place for couples and families!!!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant this summer. Our party of ten was warmly welcomed upon our arrival and we were promptly seated. We ordered a variety of individual entrees and beverages and we enjoyed them for the most part. Food Hits: +All the meat dishes were a hit for the most part. Everyone enjoyed their juicy, perfectly cooked steaks. My mom and sisters enjoyed their ribs and the lamb. Food Misses: -The whole red snapper was incredibly salty. -The huge stalks of broccoli that accompanied some of the dishes was disappointing. I wish it had been cut up into finer pieces instead of having gigantic stalks placed on our plates. -The red wine was served in a white wine glass. Service: Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. All the staff we encountered were courteous. Ambience: Dim lighting and a nice outdoor breeze from the outdoor patio. Good acoustics. Nice artwork on the brick walls. Verdict: Good place for a delicious steak! I look forward to dining here again.

This is probably my favorite restaurant on City island. The foods are innovative and incredibly tasty. Their main entrees might be pricey. But we ordered a calamari salad and clam pizza, which were both reasonably priced and very fresh and yummy

Ambience is so hard to find in NYC so the 4 stars is really for that and the staff, who were very friendly and efficient, especially given it was Father's Day and very crowded inside. We sat outside under the shade and it was absolutely perfect (no water view but the street traffic on the side of the restaurant was minimal so it was still quite nice). For the food, I would say the clam chowder and crab cakes were the best. The entrees I thought were just OK. We got the huge Pesce for 2 and found the lobster to be quite tough. The fried filet of sole was a bit flavorless and one piece that someone had contained a lot of small splinters that we thought would have been removed (or would have been good to know!) Overall recommended if you're looking for a more upscale setting away from the summer seafood crowd.

Let me start by saying the staff could not have been more gracious and welcoming to us especially given one of our friends is wheelchair bound. As the reviews not'd in Yelp the food was very good. HOWEVER, we were looking for a water view for a late lunch, and although it is advertised as having outdoor dining, it is not even near the water and the outdoor dining is on the street. For all of us, it was a wasted trip since all of us traveled at least 35-45 min to get there. For us, not worth it to do again.

My friends and I planned a day trip to City Island and chose Artie's because they were open for lunch and wheelchair accessible. We entered through the side into an attractive bar area and were seated in the front dining room. Since we were there for lunch we opted for appetizers. While our server was pleasant, she seemed a bit disappointed that we weren't ordering more. Drink orders took a while considering there was only one other table occupied. The fresh bread that was served was very good. So much so that we asked for another basket. I chose the grilled octopus. While the serving was smaller than I expected, it's taste and presentation made up for it. Absolutely delicious! My friends had the grilled shrimp and scallops and panko crusted coconut shrimp which they both enjoyed. Honestly, the food is so attractive you hate to mess it up by eating it. Overall a nice place which we had to ourselves. Would like to visit again for dinner.

We enjoyed Arties but it was better before the Pandemic, We used to get fresh baked warm bread and a salad. that doesn't happen anymore the salad or soup no longer included with the meal. But the service has always been a good experience.

I used to be a big fan Artie's. When I lived in New York I used to go there quite a bit. However I found the quality to be in decline during my last visit in 2013. I've since moved out of state and haven't had that many opportunities to eat in the area. However we had a family get-together and Artie's was the consensus. I was a bit skeptical considering our last meal there, which was not very good, but I was eager to give it another chance as Artie's has a special place in my heart. Unfortunately the small hope that they had turned everything around was quickly shattered. For my meal I went with a Caesar salad, a burrata appetizer, and also a tuna sashimi appetizer. The salad was basic but passable. My two appetizers were really disappointing. I love burrata and whenever I see it on the menu I will usually get it. One of my favorite things about it, I'm sure like most people, is the creamy center which oozes out once you cut it open. This burrata had zero creamy center. I cut it and noticed the center was exactly the same as regular mozzarella. Perhaps they pulled a switcheroo? Or worse, maybe they don't know the difference. The tuna sashimi was absolutely dreadful. Really bad. What they served me was seared and sliced fish of some sort. It was in no way genuine tuna or sashimi. It had a terrible consistency with tough bits and chewy parts inside, sadly very far from the silky smooth sashimi you can get it any good sushi joint. I was appalled by this part of the meal. In my mind it's really inexcusable. The service was pretty good. The waitress was matter of fact and quick. No complaints. But I want to mention that it's very presumptuous for a place like this to tack on an automatic 20% service fee. I always tip my waitress or waiter and this is not some high end establishment, so i am perplexed that they do it this way. It just obnoxious. On the ride home, aside from joking about the super chewy "catfish sashimi" they served me, my wife and I were talking about the really poor quality of everything our family was served. Nobody left satisfied with their meal, and the prices are very high for what you get. We ultimately decided that this is probably the worst restaurant in New York City. Sorry Artie's, it is what it is.

Service was great. Ambiance as well. We've eaten here a couple of times and this last time wasn't as good as the past. Oysters we're great, but my wife's lobster was a bit overdone & my fish was boring. I'd go back, but another place first.

I had never been to city island before. So many restaurants to choose from; my friend and I chose this place at random. We shared the grilled octopus with gigante beans, grilled chicken Mediterranean salad and linguine with white clam sauce respectively. Best grilled octopus I've ever had. Salad was huge with amazing dressing. Linguine with clam portion was large and good Our waitress was a little frazzled but very nice I definitely recommend going

Food is not very good. Had eggplant as main course it was not at all good. The tomato sauce heavy and probably straight out of a can. Fried calamari was probably straight out of bag. Not prepared at restaurant. Did not taste fresh. Had a frozen margarita and once again, came out of a prefab margarita mix. I do not plan to returning.

Came to Arties for my friend's Birthday. We got a table right away seconds later more people arrived to and it seemed to get very busy! Our waiter was good(not great) he seemed very overwhelmed was rushing to get our orders The best thing I ate was the baked clams THAT'S IT! My food came in this Tub was not seasoned at all the clam bake was sitting in water no broth NOTHING. The food had no seasoning Not returning!

They get extra points from my weakness. Bread. The Italian bread they have here is worth the visit. Fresh and hearty. I could have just bread and cheese with that bread The beer I had was Brooklyn summer ale. Another nice treat Started the Manhattan clam chowder. I enjoyed it but it was more of a vegetable soup with shredded clams in it. For the main course I had seared salmon. It came over top of beans and corn and other stuff with cilantro. That was not light how I expected it and really didn't match the salmon. And the salmon was a little over cooked. Still good flavor and not bad, I guess I might have expected too much Overall definitely worth a try!

Arties was a great time for my family and myself. In the beginning, there seemed to be a miscommunication among the staff, and we waited for service. But showing great teamwork, another server put in our drink order. When our server Joey arrived, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and he absolutely made up for the earlier faux pas. The vibe is relaxed and comfortable, and the playlist was classy; very mature crowd. But the star of Arties is the food. The freshness and the portions make Arties stand out. From the salad (I was shocked at the portion of my appetizer 3 coconut shrimp) to the entrée and dessert. I wish I had pictures of my meal to post, but I've wanted to go to City Island all summer, and I kind of blacked out when I got my food. I truly enjoyed myself and recommended this restaurant because it checks all the boxes.

Expensive but a good time, with good food. $7 coffee is crazy. You get charged for each soda $3, obviously no refills. Don't go with kids.

So, one weekend we decided to come back to this restaurant. We came here few years ago on a date and had a great dinner for two. We were thinking of getting the same dish but just couldn't find from the menu but saw it after we took our orders. That's ok because our lunch this time was great! Yes, they open for lunch! Our waitress, Patty, was sweet and professional. They all seemed like very professional handling a big tray on the shoulder and walking without tripping. First, we ordered mussels appetizer. Mussels was fantastic! Order this if you like mussels appetizer. The garlic mixed with the sauce was to die for (I live!). After that Hubby ordered Fruitti di Mare, and I had linguine with shrimp and lobster. They removed the lobster shell prior to serving. Both my husband's dish and mine were flawless. It was served with a side salad. I tried Hubby's dish and that was perfect too. Definitely the homemade tomato sauce has its own secret recipe. Food wise, this place got it right. Now let's go to the ambience. The place is a house-like restaurant. They offer a parking space and it's not hard to get it at lunch time. Inside decor is superb and romantic. This place can handle big and small groups. I'm sure they can hold a party here too. We had a booth table. Super fine experience. Will come back!

Came in with a big group of people. Service was pretty fast. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana, the order was humongous but I managed to eat it all, it came with a side of spaghetti. My seat mate ordered shrimp and fries and an order of asparagus which was also very very tasty. Kathy our server was very nice and courteous.

Went today for my birthday lunch with friends. Everything was impeccable from the time we walked through the door from the manager Cathy who made sure we had everything we needed to our amazing waiter Brian who was a ball of personality. So happy to see my dear old friend Roberto who was charming as ever. He also makes all the amazing delicious desserts. An all time favorite and the only place I would travel to city island for. If I could give ten stars I would. Thank you as always for an amazing meal and fantastic service. Missed seeing Spiro's and Laura but I'll be back. Nice running into an old friend Robert at the bar also. Home away from home.

I went here once and it was great! I got oysters for appetizer which were fresh. For my main entree I got king crab legs and a steamed lobster tail. The lean legs were huge and a got amount for what I paid for! The lobster tail was cooked well and was a good size! It came with two sides, which I got broccoli and roasted potatoes. I really enjoyed the service from our waiter. I would recommend as the food tasted fresh for seafood!

Their food is really good. I love the Pan Roasted Maryland Crab Cakes. They were to die for.

Free valet parking. Lets begin. Dinner for 6 of us and everybody arrived on time. The outside looks very good and the inside is a few rooms divided but well placed. The great lamp/light fixtures by the bar are awesome. We started by placing a few appetizers. Crab cakes, clams, mind you very expensive. The crab cakes looked amazing and were mostly bread crumbs. I had my few share of them while traveling to new England or Maryland and these here were blahhhhhhhhh. The clams were tasty and pretty well done. For dinner each entry gets free salad. We had 5 balsamic and 1 creamy dressing but all came the same. I had the Mahi Mahi with mango sauce on a bed of spinach. Pretty looking dish I might add, it also tasted great around the edges but the fish had 0 flavor. Maybe not as fresh. Wife ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon with asparagus. They were well made and were not rubbery at all. Definitely the dish to have. The others were a hit or miss and left food on the table. I think next time if ever, I will stick to lobster and shrimps.. Finally we asked the waiter to have the food to go and he never looked back or acknowledged us, then the main waiter said that he does this but he can assure that he heard us. Very odd service. Overall the place is good, over priced for the food. Each diner pays around 60+ with 1 drink. Drinks are very good and the selection is full of local beers. Free Valet parking.

Went for lunch for hubby's birthday with my adult daughter. Outstanding food! Grilled octopus, enormous shrimp, jambalaya, sea bass were all perfect. We sat outside, which was wonderful on a beautiful afternoon. Nick was our waiter, and he treated us like royalty. Surprise dessert was so delicious! We will definitely be back. Thank you Nick!

Went to Arties on City Island. The restaurant was listed as one of the restaurants participating in NYC restaurant week. Although it was during the afternoon, there was no lunch menu. We wanted to attend a restaurant we have never attended in all our years of frequently city island. We were changed double for 2 over cooked lobster tails. The over priced drinks lacked top self liquor and the lobster sandwich was not impressive . When we told the attendant they were featured as one of the restaurants listed as participating in the, he claim ignorance. He offered to give us desserts. As far as I am concerned we paid for those desserts in the already over priced bill. I now see why we never considered this restaurant.

My two friends and I decided to take a road trip to NY yesterday. We had no particular destination. We got hungry, I found this restaurant on Yelp. There were a lot of options with pretty good reviews, we decided to dine here. This place didn't disappoint. One of my friends is in a wheelchair. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to his needs. The food was delicious and seasoned well. I asked the waitress if my entree (jerk mahi mahi w/spinach) came with a starch. She stated that it says it comes with mash potatoes on the menu. She was very "direct" when saying this. I showed her the menu and that it did not say that. Unfortunately my entree came out with NO mash potatoes. This is the only thing that kept me from leaving 5 stars. Overall we had an amazing time. I recommend Arties to anyone visiting the City Island area.

I want to thank the staff at Artie's for being so accommodating to me and my partner yesterday evening. I received my vaccine, and one would think I would feel safe dining indoors, but I was still a little frightened. Upon arriving at Artie's, I asked to sit outside. The woman who greeted us mentioned that it was raining and that we would be wet and cold outside. She asked if I was afraid of COVID, and I responded yes. She wasn't mean or rude, and instead showed us to a corner of the restaurant where there were no other diners, and blocked off by a wall. As someone who struggles with anxiety but is trying to get back to normal living, this gesture was greatly appreciated. Our server, Arturo, was funny and kind. The food was delicious as well (I particularly enjoyed the scallops in my pasta - great texture!). Oh, and the jumbo sundae is really jumbo... I greatly underestimated this dessert. Thank you again to the staff for helping me get back to a more normal life.

We chose this restaurant out of all the restaurants in city Island because it was more "fancy" compared to the other restaurants. Food was all mediocre. We started with the calamari. We ordered red snapper, make your own entree (rib eye and baby back ribs) and their famous zupe Di pesce. I rather enjoyed the hash browns that came with the red snapper than the snapper itself. Rib eye and baby back ribs was decent. Zupe Di pesce stated it is meant to be shared between two people but it is so big it can feed four. I don't recommend it. It was bland and it lacked more garlic and butter. After loading tons of salt and pepper ourselves it was edible. Overall, I would go to another restaurant in city island.

Ok this place is busy and I don't understand why; It must be that people who frequent this establishment enjoy mediocre food with no flavor set in a 1970s nightmare on elm street interior decor. I'll tell you about my experience. We walked in, there's weird doors, one that opens then two others with steps to enter. Someone immediately sat us, 25 minutes later our waitress decides to ask us what we would like for an appetizer. I was already kinda grossed out. The booth I was sitting in was like a roller coaster ride, it went up and down as I sat down and the booth behind me added to the roller coaster because every time they moved the ride started up again. The decor...I don't know if Gordon Ramsay is still doing Kitchen Nightmares, but this place could use an updating especially with the booths. Now to the food, we ordered the "Arties Clam Bake" what a joke, poorly seasoned, watery liquid, with a lobster, clams and some other nonsense. I wouldn't order that ever again. The next thing we ordered was the whole red snapper. This was GROSS! I usually don't write bad reviews but this place was overpriced nastiness. The red snapper was so soaked in balsamic vinegar that the skin wasn't crispy and it actually had a gross smell, they stuffed the fish with some type of herbs.. then the top the fish with hash browns of sorts. Let me suggest this. Fry the fish hole, maybe add some onions in the middle, use some garlic, a little salt and lemon, keep it simple, also don't wet up the fish after you fry it. Just silly. Basic cooking. Try mashed potatoes, because those hash browns are just stupid. Anyway, I couldn't wait to get out of this place. The waitress apologized for the long wait, I really didn't care because I knew I would never be back. They have a decent dinner salad that comes with every meal. That was tasty...but not enough to win me over. There are many places to eat in City Island... this one isn't it for me.

Some really great items! Fried calamari was so fresh and crispy. Grilled octopus was excellent! King crab legs were a bit salty, but very good. Sole stuffed with crabmeat was excellent!

My mom, husband and I had a wonderful evening at Arties. We hadn't been to City Island in decades and we decided to visit and enjoy a seafood meal. The many positive reviews pointed us to Arties and we were delighted with our choice. We were seated right away and Patty and the rest of the staff treated us like VIPs. My elderly mother was slow to order and they were so patient and accommodating. She enjoyed her veal francese and my husband and I were pleased with our seafood platters. About the only thing I would change about the place is that they open up a second restaurant closer to our home in Jersey!

This restaurant has many racist waiters the lady that took our order threw the plates of food because we were the only Hispanics and brought our checks before asking !!!!!!!

Very sad. This was a nice place. WAS! It seems like the owner, Spiro, lost hiis passion and management has that "whatever" attitude. They must thing that they are the only restaurant on City Island. They need to start tasting the food before it's served. Quality control is nonexistent. Very sad to see them close down soon.

No complaints, only a strong recommendation to anyone in the area looking for a great sit down spot.

Had a wonderful evening here with family. This is an old school City Island Italian restaurant. You can expect huge portions, delicious food, good wine and good service. (honestly, the service wasn't amazing, but I really can't complain other than to say that there was a lack of smiling and pleasantries...goes along with the old school Italian thing though.) Definitely a great place to bring family or a date that appreciates this vibe (aka a super hipster probably wouldn't get down for this place, their loss : ). Oh, and definitely check it out if you're a seafood lover!

Just returned to Arties since the pandemic and it's better than ever. Food and service were perfect as was the Franciscan wine at a great price. We had the shrimp bisque, tuna tartare, lamb chops and fresh oysters. Delicious!
