I've read this place was crowded, so was worried, but on a Tuesday night, there was tons of seating. I really liked that the seating is diverse--small tables, larger tables, a regular bar, and a low bar, which is perfect for someone like me with a 28 inch inseam.
The bartender was cool and quirky, very attentive.
Super creative drinks here. I had the Park Your Boat at the recommendation of the bartender, made with coconut tea infused rum, Mozart chocolate coconut, bepi tosolini wild strawberry (there were several ingredients I had to google), lime, and Demerara. It was. little sweet for my usual taste, but very velvety, luxurious, and did taste great (for a sweet drink). I also had the Gilbert's Law, made with il gusto de Amalfi mandarin liqueur, altos silver, agave, and acid grapefruit. Given the agave and grapefruit, I thought it would have more flavor, but it was pretty mild. It was easy to drink however. Can't complain.
I tried the Crab People, which I did not like at all (didn't even finish it). I didn't google its ingredients and should have, however given how creative the drink is, I'm not sure I would have shied away anyway (murrell's row mignonette gin, tomato shallot shrub, oleo). Oleo is margarine (insert crying face). Hated that flavor, but a fun and interesting thing to tell people about later I suppose.
I took the Fizzy Lifting Drink to go (yes, Savannah has a to go law). Uncle Val's botanical gin (my favorite), hibiscus, honey, lemon, sparkling wine. Didn't taste quite how I thought it would. The sparkling wine drowned out the Uncle Val's botanical notes in my opinion, but maybe I'm biased because Val's is how I make my G&Ts.
Overall, the vibes are great here. Excellent 70s-80s-yacht rock soundtrack the night I went (though at least one night a week they do live music).
The aesthetic is beautiful. Prices are average, maybe even good, for the complexity of the drinks. They have tons of interesting and inventive cocktails, including one made with white balsamic, dill, and cracked pepper. Several different spirits, flavors, and herbs to try. Many ingredients I've never heard of, or have rarely seen, and I frequent cocktail bars a lot.
