The Best Wineries In The Willamette Valley - Willamette Valley - The Infatuation

"There’s only one Willamette Valley tasting room that unapologetically pairs the sour cherry haze of mencía bubbles with Goldfish crackers and Charli XCX. This is Artist Block, and spending even five minutes among their Warholian mise-en-scène will be the most fun you’ll have while glass-swirling in the area. But don’t let the resin gummy bears and whimsical donut sculptures fool you. The wine—like briny, pizza-party syrah or an orange blossom-blasted gewürztraminer blend—walks the walk. Options also exist for designated drivers, as they can slurp a non-alcoholic wine flight, peruse the active art gallery, or cuddle with Andy the winery cat." - aimee rizzo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a fun and beautiful spot! The decor is modern and creative—every corner has something unique to look at, from playful donut art to bold furniture. I came for a special event that included wine tasting and Bengal cats (named Edward and Jacob—how perfect is that?!). The wine was amazing, with fun names like “Bubble Butt” that make the experience even more memorable. The charcuterie board was top-notch, beautifully presented and delicious. Service was 5-star—friendly, welcoming, and attentive. This place is truly a hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone who loves great wine, good vibes, and a little quirky charm.

Cannot recommend enough! Dog friendly patio with the smoothest wines. Off the beaten path, beautiful location. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Vibe 10 out of 10. Come for the cat stay for the wine. or the other way around. :) Will be back!

Oh my goodness! My husband surprised me with a tasting at Artist Block for my birthday and it was the best surprise ever. After checking-in in the front, they pull back a set of curtains and you enter into a beautiful art gallery! From the swanky decor to vibey music, this beautifully thoughtful winery is a dream come true. The staff were vibrant and lovely, just like the ambiance and wine. 100% coming back!

Google
Instagram brought my wife and I to Artist Block (AB), and let's just say their social media game is on point. Super-savvy. Fun. More specifically, it was the Bengal kittens that reeled us in. Kittens and Wine? How cool is this? We arrived to this incredible tasting room in what looks like a giant treehouse from the inside, and Brittany was the perfect ambassador. OK, so: every box is checked on our initial hit at AB. But - the most important question: what about the wine? The answer: it is wonderful. We enjoyed each flight taste; slightly different from the usual fare of wines found in the area, but every single one was approachable. We took some wine home. Bottom line, the entire experience from beginning to end was amazing, and this is what wine tasting and the wine industry should be about. The whole experience is a vibe, and the wine is spot on. Thanks to Brittany, the Bengals, and the artist-owner and her whole Team who creates and allows it all to flow naturally. We will be back.

Megan was awesome and extremely knowledgeable! We learned a lot from her about the wines and how they are made without sulfates which was really interesting. They were all delicious and the cats were adorable! It was nice to be at a chill winery.

Google
Such a fun and unique place — the perfect addition to a Willamette tasting itinerary. Come here in the afternoon, when you need a pick-me-up! The decor/art is so cool, the music is fun, the staff is friendly, and it’s just a good time. Wines are great too, with a bit more variety of flavors than some other local spots — although the Pinot is still a standout! Fun gift shop too :)

My mother and I visited Artist Block in November of 2024, and I cannot recommend this spot enough! The wine was delicious, you can get a side of gummy bears, the artwork at the tasting room was fascinating, and the staff was amazing. The view from the large window was so cozy. We had the best time!

Google
From the welcome wine, to the art displays, this place is such a gem. We had such fun time tasting the wines and enjoying charcuterie while relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. Highly recommended checking this place out if unique wines and fun are your thing.

Yelp
What a special find! Anna was so gracious to sit and talk with us about her passion for wine, travel, and art. Letting us love on her sweet cats was an added treat. This is definitely a unique stop to be savored and appreciated. A must see!!!

Yelp
I think this is my new favorite spot, and I don't think I will be alone in this feeling. A friend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a tasting and we spent hours enjoying the art, lovely tasting room staff (Carrie and Brittany), and wines. The wines are so delicious and unique- especially if you are feeling a bit burnt out on Pinots and Chardonnays. We were greeted with a delightful PetNat, and tasted through their flight with Chenin Blanc, Blaufrankish, The tasting room is special- it's an art gallery that also feels like a cozy place to sit and chat- views from both sides and art to peruse and take home too! I can't wait to bring more friends here.

Yelp
Outstanding "fresh," new addition to the Newberg/Dundee area! Finally had the chance to visit this gem yesterday evening and we could not have been more impressed. From the venue, the wines, the eclectic art surrounding you, the upbeat music, to the superb customer service from Brittany, we could not have asked for more. Even the charcuterie for 2 was generous. Out with the old, hard, stuffy dining table and chairs. In with the cozy, colorful and comfortable living room-style seating. Be prepared for a little higher than usual tasting fees (which are waived with purchases) if you want the full experience but it's worth every penny. You may also just order a bottle or glass if you'd prefer. They don't rush you out after 4 meager pours of the same varietal. Finally, a new winery doing its own thing in the area. So refreshing, and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Omg- you just have to go. This place is a sweet little surprise nestled in amid a bunch of traditional wineries. My husband and I made our way here after the usual wine tasting at another winery and when I walked into this place I didn't want to leave. This is a fresh take on a wine experience. It would be a great place to make a reservation and meet up with a group of friends. Comfortable, fun and the wine may have unpretentious names, like Yummy Yummy, but it easily competes with some of my favorite wines. They also have a variety of events worth looking into. I'll be back.

Yelp
Love love love it here!!! Can't wait to bring my girlfriends for a bachelorette wine tasting. It's an art gallery, meets wine bar, meets kitty cafe with the cute new additions! How tell I don't think it gets any better than this. Yummy wine and sweet service!

Yelp
This was our second time visiting, and more people need to experience this place. The art, atmosphere, and wine are all unique! Brittany is a fabulous host who is very kind and engaging! We will be going again and telling anyone who'll listen that this is the spot to go if you visit wine country

Yelp
Visited Artist Block on a whim and so glad I did. The space is hip and vibey, filled with extremely fun and unique art, and of course, lots of tasty wine. Anna was very engaging (how fun to be immersed in art narrated by the artist herself!) and everyone was extremely warm and welcoming. Absolutely a must-visit on your wine itinerary!

Yelp
What a welcome addition to Dundee's incredible portfolio of wineries. Friendly and knowledge staff, gorgeous tasting room, delicious wine, and world class art. I can't wait to come back! Cheers and keep up the outstanding work!

Yelp
We had an incredible time last night at Artist Block. Their wines are a little pricier than some but worth every penny. The art throughout the venue is delightful, and the comfy but elegant living room seating is a treat. Their concept of showing a movie on Friday evenings, with a tub of popcorn and a glass of one of their wines is yet another thing that sets them apart from the many other wonderful wineries in Dundee, in the heart of Oregon wine country. Hats off to the chef! We had dinner with wine pairings and were impressed by his creativity and the quality of each course.

Yelp
The food and wine were amazing. The staff and chef were extremely friendly. It was a fabulous time and would highly recommend going.

Yelp
I came across Artist Block on IG last year and was immediately intrigued to see a very different sort of tasting room - the focus on spotlighting up and coming winemakers combined with the owners own art and representation of also up and comers in the art world is refreshing as hell. The pop/street/zeitgeisty curation of mixed media art, sculptural work, photography and paintings is right up my alley. I dragged my husband to one of their Friday film series - we saw Elf with a chef prepared dinner and wine pairing and it was such a fun evening out that we immediately signed up for a few more. Brittany and Carrie who run the tasting room were super welcoming and knowledgeable. So stoked to have this less than ten minutes from our house - when we moved to Dundee we thought we'd miss city and culture. Thanks to Anna Sweet and Artist Block for bringing it to us! Now we just have to get back there for an actual tasting.
