The Best Jewish Delis in Los Angeles, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Opened way back in 1957, Art’s Deli is a San Fernando Valley staple for both the local Jewish community and visitors driving over the hill from Los Angeles. The Northridge earthquake almost took the place out decades later (and owner Art Ginsburg has since died), but the deli endures as a staple for blintzes, corned beef, and other classics. Don’t be surprised to see longtime regulars settling in at their usual booths for bowls of matzo ball soup and bagel chips." - Rebecca Roland

The Classic LA Deli Power Rankings

"Ventura Boulevard. has a handful of old-school Jewish delis that each respective neighborhood swears by. The best among them is Art’s. This Studio City classic has been in operation since 1957, and features an enormous menu (please standby, we’re still counting the dishes) that’s filled with every classic in the book. We highly endorse a weekday soup and sandwich there—the “I Want It All” chicken soup with klepach and matzo ball is a masterpiece—but your focus should be on the sides. Mayo-y, decadent potato salad, cole slaw, and macaroni salad—if you see us leaving Art’s carrying multiple to-go pints, know that our picnic is about to be way better than yours." - brant cox, garrett snyder

Open since 1957 Art’s is one of the more well-known delis in the valley. My main issue with it is that it doesn’t taste as good as some of the other competitors and the pricing is overly steep. We were a table of two and ordered one soup, two sandwiches, and two cookies and our bill was $115 which I think is absurd. All the delis are starting to price themselves more than diners but less than the LA hotspots but for someplace that specializes in sandwiches, I feel that many of them are climbing too high in their pricing. Art’s being one of these. Inside looks exactly how you would guess in that there are many booths as seating options that run the entire length of the restaurant in rows, along with a giant kitchen and a predominantly Hispanic kitchen staff. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out quickly, but the bill at the end really kind of soured the meal. As you would expect the menu here is giant just like it is at most delis but once you look over the menu, you realize there aren’t as many options as it seems like. If you’re not a fan of sandwiches or salads, this would not be the place for you. For my first visit I chose the Super Reuben which is a combined pastrami and corned beef Reuben. It was good, although not my favorite that I’ve had in town. The sandwich was gigantic and I was thinking of reducing it to the lighter portion but for a $3 discount I didn’t feel that it was worth it. I also started off with a bowl of the Beet Borscht and thought it was pretty good, although not as strong in flavor as other versions that I have had recently. Overall, I think this is a good deli, but there are better options around LA, especially given the price point. I will give it another try sometime in the future after I try the other delis that I have not been to yet.

Google
Save your time. The other reviews have also mentioned underwhelming flavor and crazy prices. - I actually loveeee the old school vibes. It’s clean in here and my server Kelly, he was the best!! The food was okay. I order the tuna salad sandwich. It was good but just bread and tuna salad. The server suggested I get tomato and lettuce on it. The potato salad was a bit salty - mind you, I like flavor. The matzo ball soup was pretty good. I must say I was so surprised by the price. For this meal is was $40. The sandwich wasn’t huge either. Service was great. But just bit over priced and underwhelmed with flavor. Maybe I’ll come back if I’m really craving a sandwich but idk.

Google
Possibly the best classic sandwich place in LA. I ate here 40 years ago, and thankfully nothing has changed (except the prices). Why mess with success? It’s pricy, but the sandwich portions are huge and the menu options are endless. I chose the brisket dip with au jus juice and fries. Heavenly! The atmosphere is classic diner, and the servers are all quick and friendly.

Google
I must admit, initially I was taken aback at the prices on the menu. Some sandwiches are $36! However, the pastrami dip is some of the best pastrami I’ve had. Well worth the price in my opinion. Classic and simple deli food done extremely well. The knishes are to die for, especially the potato one. This place oozes that old school vibe (perfect for the gram!) The service was fast and friendly and place was clean and comfy. They also have a relatively large variety in their desert case. The brownies were great!

Google
This place is underwhelming. No ampsoshere, food is average. The prices are inexcusable. The club sandwich is 42 dollars! That's 2x the price of Nate and Al's in Beverly Hills, and five dollars more than The Bel-air Hotel!!! How do they justify this? I've been going there for a while, because its close, but I just can't anymore. I really hate to leave a bad review in this volatile restaurant market, but come on guys! The place has the personality of a dead flea. With very little effort you can do better.

Google
The place can be great again, the only issue is that it seems to have gotten stuck in the past. When I was there it seemed that the staff outnumbered the customers 4 staff per customer, possibly that could be why it's so overpriced. We have to cover the overstaffing. 2 people at the register, 3 waiters, and possibly 8 kitchen staff. There was only 4 people in the deli. The food, carrots from a can or possibly frozen as they were not evenly cooked. The Matzah ball was the only thing good that came out of the kitchen. Turkey pastrami was dry and lacking, getting stuck in my mouth and hard to swallow. The Potato kanish was not crunchy, rather mooshie and soft. It seemed that it was old as I could taste the fridge. Who eats a Kanish with Gravy, you eat it with deli mustard. Pricing was ridiculous, as when I was ordering I thought it would be a great experience. Rather not, so of course I will complain about the bill as it did not represent what was served. I almost forgot, what is the deal with plastic cups from the 80's, having a smell and not being clean. I feel bad, as I wanted this to be a pleasant meal with my wife. It turned into the, ok we tried it and it was not worth it. I hope the owners read this and reflect, you can make it a spot to go to again. Focus on giving great food, do not cut corners, and reduce your staff. If you are not busy, send people home, reduce cost and overhead and pass that onto the customers. We will keep coming back only if we have a great experience. Otherwise, the fact is, without changing you will remain in the past, becoming dusty and a distant memory of what was once a great place to go to. Aaron G.

Google
Art’s Delicatessen in Studio City is a true classic. Their pastrami sandwich is huge and packed with smoky, tender meat, and they don’t skimp on the sides—they serve big portions of potato salad and pickles. The deli has an old-school vibe, and the service is fast and friendly. It’s a great spot for a casual lunch or breakfast, especially if you’re craving hearty, classic deli food

Google
We ordered a large amount of food for a party. It was delivered on time, fresh and delicious ! Plenty of food and then some. Always worth the money for the best.

Yelp
The best Jewish food in the world! Can't recommend it enough. It is one of the most iconic places In studio city.

Yelp
Have not been to Art's Deli in 15 years and never plan on going back or recommending them. A staple of any deli is a hot corn beef sandwich that melts in your mouth. My sandwich on the other hand was anything but. Filled with stringy fat on every bite that I needed a toothpick to get it out of my mouth. I assume Art is no longer with us. If he was he too would not have been happy..!

Yelp
My friend and I visited yesterday, 1/22/25, around 6:45 PM and had a pleasant experience. When we arrived, only 2-3 other tables were occupied, so we had our choice of seating. The staff was very attentive, likely due to the quiet atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup with Matzo Ball, which included chicken pieces, carrots, and noodles. While $14 is on the pricier side for soup, they generously added extra chicken, veggies, and noodles, both in the bowl and on the side. It also came with some bagel chips, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was hearty and filling. My friend chose the Traditional Portion Pastrami Sandwich at $27, and they were very satisfied with their meal. It came with a good portion of fries, though adding fries cost an extra $2.75. Personally, I feel sides like fries shouldn't come with an additional charge, especially if they're substituted. My friend also opted for gluten-free bread, which was an extra $2.50. It's unfortunate that dietary restrictions often come with added costs. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. While I'd return, the price point means I'd hope for the same attentive service and quality. Parking tip: There's residential parking behind the restaurant or free lots nearby, which makes it convenient.

Yelp
Overnight trip in LA had us searching for something to eat Saturday afternoon and we stumbled on Art's. Dad and I agreed it sounded good so we put in an order. I had the pastrami and my Dad got the Italian sub, they arrived pretty quickly. The sandwiches are loaded with meat, there was a huge amount of meat on the pastrami and the Italian so absolutely no complaints about that. The flavor was very good, the sourdough on mine was toasted nicely and the pastrami had a great flavor especially with that black pepper coating. My Dad said his was very good as well and adding the Italian dressing on top pushed it over the top. As good as it was I don't know about those prices. The pastrami sandwich is $27 which is pretty high even for all the meat on it and the Italian was a staggering $32. At the end of the day it's still just meat, cheese and bread. My Dad is in a clinical trial currently and all meals are provided so they paid for it, I'm not sure if we would have paid that ourselves for a sandwich.

Yelp
I love soup with stuff in it. My husband and I had not been to Art's deli for about 30 years.. First of all, THANK YOU for still being around!!! I had the matzo ball soup and my husband had fish and chips. The soup was very nice! However, I would have gotten the all in one soup (noodles, matzo ball, etc) but it was $26.. Whoa. My husband's dish was... $30 Gulp. So as much as we liked Art's, it's a bit expensive for us. Service was outstanding. Everything was extremely clean and vibe is so mellow there.. really great. But as there are only a handful of delis left in LA, if you're nearby, definitely go to Art's. And they have some parking in the back.. which is great because parking on Ventura Blvd is just ugh. Go forth and eat at Art's. HIGHKY RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Very good pastrami on rye. My only complaint is this is supposed to be the larger portion. Having lived in NYC and worked in New York delis, this is a small sandwich. My only complaint.

Yelp
It's been a while, but since I was in the area, thought this would be a great spot to catch something to eat. I ordered the light pastrami sandwich with potato salad. Light was $22 vs $25 for non-light. The pastrami meat was tender and delicious. The rye bread was soft and fresh. The potato salad was good, too. Service was pretty good. I got multiple refills on my cup of $5 coffee. I often pay less than that for a latte elsewhere. You pay up front at the counter. Dang, the bill was high for a deli sandwich, side salad, and cup of coffee. It wasn't until after tax and tip that I realized why the place wasn't busy.

Yelp
Art's Delicatessen is one of those restaurants that has been around forever. It is really one of those very establishing spots on Ventura Boulevard. This is a fairly large restaurant. It's mostly made up of booths, and they have some outdoor tables along the sidewalk if that's your desire. The food here is, as you would expect, deli, orientated cuisine. The main thing to say about this restaurant is the food here is very good. They have a wide selection of deli orientated dishes, and they are all well prepared, with great ingredients, and have an excellent taste. They also have the deli counter in the front. Here, you can get those deli orientated items that you desire to take home. The one thing I will say about the dining experience here is, if you're concerned about price, this restaurant probably isn't for you. The prices here tend to be on the high side. For example, currently, if you want to grab a pastrami sandwich, it's gonna cost about twenty-five bucks. This being said, again, the food is very good. So, if price is not your concern, it's a great place to grab your meal. Overall, if you're in Studio City, on Ventura Boulevard, and you want to grab a bite eat, this may be the place for you.

Yelp
Nice old fashioned deli. Lovely waitresses with 50's era hospitality. All the classic American deli favorites to cheese from

Yelp
First time here in over 25 years and pleasantly surprised. With so few delis left there are few choices. Excellent menu and our group had the following: Pastrami Reuben Sky High Roast Beef Brisket Dip Plate of Fries All were very large and excellent. Prompt friendly service from our waiter that had a fun attitude. Excellent black and white cookies for dessert! Parking is a challenge but try the free garage at Chin Chin across the street. Looking forward to my next visit to try more of the menu!

Yelp
Art's Delicatessen was great! Please stop by when you're near!! They took care of our Shilo, pulse the food and service was great!!!

Yelp
I was looking for a good deli so I could order corn beef hash and eggs. When my order arrived it was totally COLD. I really thought that this was going to be a great meal. I sent it back only to have it come back warm and tasting off point. So I would not recommend Arts Deli. It's been around since the 50's and I feel it's lost its shine. The service was great and was very helpful. My server was sorry about the food. Possibly it was just an off day. Ambulance was typical deli with booths. I personally would not recommend going to Art's.

Yelp
This place is a 2-way time warp: menu and decor from the past - prices from the future. The booths, the breakfast fish options (even living by the sea, one doesn't have such a morning seafood offering), the menu offerings, uniforms - all will have you feeling like Marty McFly The prices were shockingly high for the drably-decorated diner. 2 eggs, any style: $18. Most breakfasts started at $24. Rent must be exorbitant here. I've not been anywhere diner-level food costs so much. I'm hard pressed to think of anywhere I've eaten in the last year that could compete or compare, even from the best joints in LA . . . I mean, I'm not averse to spending $$ on good food, but having lived in LA for 20 years, there's a cost to quality ratio that, for this place, feels misaligned. Food was solid though - but diner/deli food should be solid. My heuvos ranchero dish was tasty, but the ranchero sauce tasted suspiciously like a marinara salsa. Very good though, just a saucy surprise. Good hash browns - but then that's another diner staple. Service was pleasant, no-nonsense. I think people come here for the food and casual, old time ambiance. But for these prices, you just expect something more . . . I'm not sure what. A remodel, bigger portions, dinner show - I definitely wanted to try more typical deli fare: a Rueben, the pastrami, the lox, etc. but you really need to commit here - I don't think anybody wants to risk $30 on a potentially mediocre sandwich. Perhaps they are that good and it's a secret for the regulars, or for expensed company lunches and tax-deductible industry "meetings". Street parking only, with some public lots across on Ventura Blvd.

Yelp
Food: +++ Service: +++ Ambiance: Exactly what you think a Jewish deli should be. Price: Absolutely insane, n the worst of ways. My husband and I went in here yesterday and got the following: a brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad, a side of latkes, two eggs and bacon, one pancake. And our meal - after a 20% tip - was $110... That is absolutely insane. The food was fine, but definitely not quality or quantity enough to warrant a price tag like that. YEESH. Definitely won't be back.
google avatar

Maria D.

Yelp
Deliciousness delivered. The portions of our meal was huge and just right at the same time. I literally wiped my plate clean of food. The burger itself was cooked to perfection, all I added to it was Russian sauce (aka thousand island/spread). The fruits were fresh, sweet, and savory. Our food came to us in a very timely manner, especially considering that it's a Friday night. The ambiance was very chill, it gave old school cafe vibes while still being clean and hip. We've eaten from Art's prior but with the exception of having it to go. I definitely can say that it tasted just as good as eating in house fresh out of the kitchen. The service was amazing, our server, Liz was a total sweetheart. She explained some of the fan favorite and got our order spot on. Thank you Liz!!

Maryann A.

Yelp
I've ordered tuna melts from there a few times and they were delicious. I decided to try the brisket sandwich. It was very dry certainly not worth the $40 . I don't mind paying any price if it's good food that brisket was not.
google avatar

Veronica M.

Yelp
The service wasn't great I think because I was a first timer and we said that but my dad had been many times. First we were given to a guy who ditched us just disappeared we waited forever then he chose outside instead. We were passed on to this waitress where we were treated okay not like the regulars. My allergies are wheat gluten dairy soy it was a weird menu I got the salmon baked gluten free bread no cream cheese. I think it was supposed to come with Cole slaw? I don't know I ended up making my own sandwich because it was left for me too. I was told we will bring you pickles but it never came? The salmon tasted a bit like lox even though it was baked. My dad got a sandwich it was really large coleslaw a bit watery looking. I asked about the borscht but I found out that there's food coloring and sugar. Quite a bummer. Took forever to get a bill. I think outside gets better service. The decor like a Jewish deli.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
Well that corned beef hash was delicious! It's what you expect from a proper corned beef and hash, and the sunny side up egg has the right amount of runnyness. Coffee was also good especially for a diner. It's not some artisanal, small-batch coffee or espresso, but it sure does well for what it is, a warm, delicious, comforting cup of black coffee (I always say a good coffee is like a good steak, it shouldn't need anything else). As a breakfast spot before work or on a day off, this place sure feels cozy. It's not trying to be the trendiest, flashiest, socially-viral breakfast cafe, but it sure knows how to deliver some good comfort food.

Bell B.

Yelp
These are like HALF the size of a McDonald's hash brown, they were $8.50 for 2...they came soggy and look like they came out of a freezer pack. I put the knife next to the container to show size...mini and obviously overpriced! Insane.
google avatar

Simon G.

Yelp
Your prices are so ridiculous , and the food isn't that good , you want a good deli with lower prices and much better food go to Brent's
google avatar

Eriko P.

Yelp
Great place for large or small groups! Kelly, our server was fantastic! We didn't have reservations but the wait was not long on a busy Saturday. Our group wanted to chat and catch up on our lives and Kelly allowed us the time we needed before placing our orders. Food was generous. My frittata was more like an omelette, and a bit dry, but it was tasty! My friends seemed to enjoy their food as well. On the way out, we ordered from the deli and took food home for later. The barley soup was delicious!!!! Next time I am in this area, I will come back. The street is very cute with other small shops to browse.
google avatar

Isis J.

Yelp
Horrible food and overpriced. Very bland and the sandwiches without condiments. Matso ball soup was nasty. Langer's and Canters are so much better. I'm not going back here.

Yelp
Those who follow me (and who doesn't - I'm kidding) know that I hate leaving one-star reviews and I'll try to never do that unless it's truly warranted. Art's has been around forever. It's never been a favorite but they do certain things well and that's what I order. Good matzoh ball soup. Tri-Salad is a favorite. Patty Melt isn't bad. I don't mind the matzoh brie and a bacon and cheese omelet. However, as others have pointed out, Art's is now THE most expensive deli anywhere in LA and environs. The prices are actually breathtaking, and not is a good way. At some point, folks, it becomes ridiculous. My tri-salad is now $33.00 - yes, you heard that right. Nothing, and I mean nothing on this menu is worth that kind of money. But enough about that. This morning, having some time to kill until the BofA across the street opened, I went in and ordered a toasted sesame bagel and cream cheese, a side of bacon, and a Diet Coke. Let's get the price for those three items out of the way first - with tax and tip? $25. Absolutely outrageous. They now charge $5.50 for a soda. Appalling. But let's get to the food, shall we? I don't know what was up with the toasted sesame bagel, but it must have been sitting on top of a garlic bagel because that's all I could taste - and frankly, the cream cheese tasted off to me. And then there was the bacon. I'm here to tell you that these four pieces of whatever they actually were had not seen a griddle in days. They, in fact, look like that fully cooked bacon you buy in the market - the kind of thing Subway does - fully cooked and they just warm it up. This was so disgusting I cannot even begin to tell you. I am currently totally sick to my stomach. And baby, when that happens it's an automatic one-star review. And the last time I ordered my tri-salad via Door Dash, despite the included note in ALL CAPS saying two scoops of turkey salad, one scoop egg salad - NO TUNA - they gave me the tuna and it so permeated everything that the entire thing went into the trash and I got a full refund from DoorDash. And no one there seems to care. Art's, get it together. In case it hasn't been blatantly obvious, people have stopped coming. Ask yourselves why and then perhaps do something about your ridiculous prices and get some real bacon and keep the sesame bagels away from the garlic bagels and keep the cream cheese fresh. Otherwise, just give it up. Front desk people, try looking like you're happy when someone comes into the restaurant, rather than just ignoring them. Sorry for the length, but I am so close to vomiting on the ground and that makes me VERY VERY VERY unhappy. The End.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Haven't been back to Art's in years. Food was still fantastic, it's clean and service was on point.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
A solid deli. I enjoyed the "pancake" corned beef hash. I asked for extra crispy and it was perfect! I had it with crispy hash browns and poached eggs. What a treat! The eggs had zero water in the dish, which I appreciated. I prefer a bagel with more crust and chew. But my everything bagel did have a good amount of "everything ". My other had the chicken soup with matzo ball and loved it, along with his generous half chopped liver sandwich. The fried matzo was good, but came to the table no longer warm. Great place for drli breakfast or lunch!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Didn't go this trip because we had someone with gluten issues and my understanding is that this isn't a good place for that. Art's is one of the few Jewish delis in LA so we try to make it on every trip. Their corned beef, potato salad, and matzo ball Soup is second to none.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
The $27 Pastrami Sandwich is a joke. The other day I got one and it had about half the meat it had in the past. They upped the price and cut the amount of Pastrami almost in half. Always loved this place but this is an outrage.

Gary S.

Yelp
Decided to take my care giver to dinner and I had my service dog with me. I identified my dog with her federal service dog Id card to the waiter. A man came to my table and identified himself as the owner holding a soiled piece of paper that had something typed on it. He began questioning me about my disability and ignored my ID. I told him he had no right to ask about my disability and he said that someone from ADA had informed him he could interview me. As a senior I have never been so humiliated. My animal goes everywhere with me from ambulance to hospital never questioned. I soon understand why the place had like four people at five pm. Considering filing a lawsuit as he is disrespecting people with disabilities. The worst kind of business owner.

Yelp
Always our fave when I come in town. When I lived I. The valley, I ate there all of time. It's true Jewish Deli. Even the 1/2 sizes of things are HUGE They have valet. Service was good. Tuna and pickles are on point. I do not think you would be disappointed with anything here. The prices may be a bit overwhelming as lunch for mom and I today was $77.00 without tip. You see what I ordered - not quite a $35.00 meal for myself But you go for the true deli food and atmosphere
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
This is not your ordinary deli. There's definitely a special sparkle about this place that sends you decades back. The interior is so well preserved and it seems like a completely different time in there. The pricing on the food is a little high but understandable given the aesthetic and history. It's definitely more than you'd expect for a sandwich and soup. The food itself tasted great and the service was awesome. Would definitely recommend it but know that it's gonna cost a little more.

T B.

Yelp
Melissa, the cashier, is nasty & makes customers feel as though she's doing them a favor! After decades of loyalty, because of her attitude, I'm done; bye Art's! Wish I could give zero stars!

Yelp
Legendary Studio City spot with an unbelievable Ruben. The vast menu has everything you'd imagine, but there are only a handful of standouts that make coming here (and the steep prices) worth it. My favorite is the Ruben- which you can order with 1/2 the meat if you're looking for a more manageable portion for one. Staff is a bit slow, but very sweet. You can ask to try a small piece of each deli meat if you can't decide (brisket, turkey, roast beef, corned beef, etc). All things considered, this place could use a bit of a facelift, but it certainly has that old style charm.

Yelp
Service a little slow - my turkey pastrami sandwich was decent - the split pea soup had nothing in it - all broth - cole slaw was probably the best item.

Yelp
Food was decent, but extremely expensive. Medium size corned beef sandwich was $27. When Jerry's still existed, their sandwiches dwarfed this (even the smaller LA version). It came with a small cup of cole slaw and a couple slices of pickle. And I mean a SMALL CUP (it was actually good cole slaw, but so small I barely tasted it). I also ordered Matzo Ball Soup and they didn't give me the Matzo Balls. They didn't charge me the extra dollar (can you believe the chicken noodle medium size cup is $13 and with a Matzo ball it is $14?) but I really wanted the Matzo Ball. My wife had a cold and I thought the soup would help, but with a Matzo Ball for the taste. For dessert, Linzer cookies. $6.50 each. They had a lot of strawberry filling. So much that my wife had to give me the center portion because there was too much. It was very sweet. Too sweet, but I love Linzer cookies so I ate most of one too. They were so rich that more than one would have been way too much. I was pleased that it came out very quickly. They told me 15 minutes, but it was more like 5. Parking sucks there, so I won't be going back. $27 for a medium size (but tasty) corned beef sandwich was just too much. They had some pluses, but too many negatives for me to give it more than 2*

Yelp
Art's was always a ripoff. You hardly get any lox in the LEO and prices are absurd. GO TO BREBRENT'S INSTEAD!

Yelp
Got to go QUART of chicken noodle soup. Came as a quart of flavorless broth. And three half pints. One of uncooked sliced carrots. Chicken. Enough noodles for 1 bowl of soup. For 17.50. I got a quart of chicken noodle soup and don't feel that is what I received at all. I got enough for a bowl where I had to spit the carrots out because they were too tough to bite in to and a lot of leftover bland broth I don't know what to do with. My husband on the other hand got a pint of chicken noodle soup, and while his carrots were also hard, his actually tasted like soup and not unsalted dishwater like mine. He tasted mine and grimaced. I tasted his and got angry enough to write a review here because we had two very different chicken noodle soups from the same place. 0/10 do not recommend.

Yelp
As a huge fan of Joni Mitchell & Graham Nash, I came here because Graham has often told the story about how he ate here with Joni many years ago the day he was inspired to write "Our House." The food was delicious & I love how this place has such an old school atmosphere. You can feel the history here. I really enjoyed the ham sandwich & potato salad. Portions are great, food is filling, & staff was very friendly & attentive.

Yelp
TLDR - good food (assuming correct order) but not worth the price Honestly, they have a pretty damn good pastrami sandwich, but as everyone else mentioned the prices are ridiculous. I would've expected more meat perhaps at that price or just a lower price. Also, they didn't include a matzo ball on a matzo ball soup to go, which is unfortunate. Excited to give Ggiata a chance for a sandwich since that spot just opened up in the 'hood.

Yelp
Super overrated tasteless food and ridiculously overpriced. Very disappointing for a deli I must say

Yelp
Been coming to Art's all my life. Best deli in the Valley! Food good and always consistent! Great service with friendly staff! Atmosphere is pleasant as well.

Yelp
First off I have started coming to Art's since I was 5 which is 55yrs ago. I haven't been here in several years so I figured I would give it a try. Well I must say, it's not the Deli I remember, the food stinks and prices for breakfast are ridiculous $28 for an omelet? I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet with hash browns well done and a everything bagel Well to my surprise I got a cheese omelet with small bits and pieces of bacon with barely cooked hash browns, and Vons bought bagel. I asked the waiter for well done hash browns, after a minute and a little attitude, he mentioned it would take 10 plus minutes? I wanted well done hash browns Not a soufflé Well after eating one of worst omelets made, my hash browns showed up. Guess what, they looked exactly the same, I think he put them under a warming light to cook I am a foodie, which if anyone of you out there reads this knows, we will travel long distances for good food, I don't care about the cost or the service but I do care about the quality!! I am definitely one that doesn't like to complain, every business has a bad day, but Arts Deli with a lot of history and tradition has lost its edge!!it might be time to sell off the business to people who care about quality and tradition. I definitely do Not Recommend this Deli to anyone in the Studio City area. The food is horrible and the prices for the quality are not worth it. Save your money and go anywhere except this place!!

Yelp
Food very good, altho typical LA pricey for deli food!! Must be the rent? Omelette for almost $30 seems kinda ridiculous. Scrambled lox eggs and onions very good! Waiter was fantastic! Kudos!

Yelp
TO EXPENSIVE! Lower your prices and I'll be back. I had good experience with the pastrami sandwich.

Yelp
I'm not one to complain, and the one good thing at arts was the pickles. Unfortunately I'm not sure what happened here but I sent back my hashbrowns after I asked for well done and 10 minutes later they came back in the same condition and the temperature was the same, I'm not sure where the quality and managers were, the bagels I'm telling you are from Ralph's, the sandwiches are now 42$ Please do yourselves a favor and go anywhere but arts!!

Yelp
I'm so disappointed in Art's Deli. I have been a local for almost 30 years, and used to love to go to Art's and it was a staple of ours for so long. However after going plant based, their options are limited to say the least. Understandable, it is a deli after all. Can't really write a bad review for that! What I can write a bad review about is their pricing! What the F---!!?!? I took some out of town friends who were craving a good deli... we sat down and looked at the menu... Our eyes almost popped out! A cheeseburger and fries is.. $25! A turkey sandwich is $30. Yes, you read those correctly... $25 and $30!!! A BLT... is ... $26!!! Come on!! We decided to leave.. however, I wanted to grab a loaf of seeded rye.. I mean how much could a loaf of bread cost, right? $13 !??? $13 dollar for a small loaf of... RYE BREAD??!! Are you serious? That's not only ridiculous, its flat out absurd! I get it, EVERYTHING is expensive now... but shame on any place now that charges such outrageous pricing for anything- no less a loaf of bread! Never ever again!!!

Yelp
The chicken noodle soup is the best in the area, fresh and home made And the cobb salad is fantastic! The prices are a little high, but each portion is enough for 2 or 3 meals Pickup is quick and easy, just call them

Yelp
As a Jew who grew up in a Jewish area, my ancestors would be turning in their graves if they knew this place was charging $25+ for an average pastrami sandwich. Pretty much everything sat around that price mark. Half orders of items were only one dollar less than the full options. Nothing special of a place with smile-less and tired staff. Found out it's the son of the original owner just taking advantage of an area with more money to waste than others. I'll only be returning if my Jewish relatives come to town, so they can 'oy vey' the prices and hastily leave.

Yelp
Arts Deli where, they say, "every sandwich is a work of Art". And, indeed they are; as is the breakfast menu, the matzoh balls, and the burgers. If you're really lucky, you can have Tina as your server. She has more patience than Mother Theresa, a sense of humor, the ability to deal with your insensitive companions and a passion for great handbags. What's not to love? I eat here twice a month with five rowdy friends, we're often loud and we likely overstay our welcome; however, nobody bats an eye and Tina just smiles and serves up really good food.

Yelp
A clearly below the mark deli experience. Server was pleasant, food came out cold and really pretty underwhelming in terms of presentation and amount. Blintzes were flavorful but cold. Veggie frittata was embarrassing in regards to amount of vegetables and overall rise. Eggs and veggies are cheap, so why would you skimp? With so many good delis in LA, it's hard to figure how they stay in business. We will not be back.
